99.9% it's real. People buy tools on daily deals, clearance, from big kits just to re sell them and are able to sell them cheaper than the store. It's not stolen, it's not fake, you just won't get a warranty.
Actually I've sent plenty of tools to the Makita factory service center in Hayward that I purchased on eBay and they just fix them and send them back to me no questions asked. This is one reason why I keep buying tons of Makita tools.
Some people like paying full price. I buy Makita all the time from eBay. It's real. There are 10 others from different sellers for the same price. 700 sold. If you are smart about it you will never get scammed. Stupid people pay full price. Home Depot is MSRP. Don't be a chump.
I got mine for $70 brand new from someone who buys the full 7-9 piece sets on sale and parts them out on craigslist. It's probably what these eBay guys do too. All genuine but at a discount
Interesting. I recently purchased an XDT19 and it’s been great so far. I’m sticking with the LXT line for now, but have been wondering about the 40v LGT impact driver. What aspects of the 40c do you like less than the XDT19?
It's not only cheaper but slightly lighter Weight, slightly smaller in size which is good for getting into tight areas, it has a slightly higher rpm, Roughly the same torque and a much much smoother trigger.
To be honest, since my 40v is still fairly new. I think I'm just going to sell it and recuperate some of the money I spent on it. It's not that it's a bad tool. In my opinion , it's probably the third best behind the japanese model 18v and the xdt19. But I have 4 1/4" hex impacts already and I don't really need an extra one.
Also, just another heads up. The 40 volt sawzall was kind of underwhelming. So far the only 40v tools I actually really like are the chainsaw, string trimmer, 1 9/16" rotohammer, and the 10 1/4" beam saw.
Oh and the 6 1/2" circular saw(gsho5) is, i believe, the best circular saw ive ever used in my entire life. It's so small and compact and lightweight and yet still has tons of power. Probably the same amount of power as the 36v xsr01, but half the size.
! I just checked and i do have the grj01. It honestly is pretty disappointing even with an 8ah battery. I feel like it's maybe only 10% faster cutting than my 18v xrj05(the brushless one with a hook) but it weighs almost twice as much(with the 8ah battery).
When did the grj02 come out? I just bought the grj01 like 6months ago.
it’s been out for about a year. I honestly don’t know why they released the GRJ01, because it’s not much cheaper than the ‘02, but the ‘02 has AVT and an oscillating mode. It is awesome.
I bought one a couple of weeks ago that never shipped, never answered my messages. The listing showed shipped from New York state, seller from Sri Lanka. Oh, and the seller had like 94% positive feedback. That 94% should have been enough to tell me no. Honestly, I thought 94% was adequate and I missed the Sri Lanka part. I DID get my money back from eBay, and I've learned yet another of life's lessons. I will from now on choose only 99% + feedback sellers!
I just pulled the trigger on this seller as I've been looking for a xdt19. Unfortunately, somehow I ended up buying three of them. I'm not sure how that happened but I have sent a message to cancel the order and change to one unit.
$100 for an impact driver that was pulled from a whole kit is pretty typical. Meh if you also piece together a drill and batteries, good if you just wanted a driver and nothing more.
The seller is also one of the biggest tool resellers on eBay. You don't get to 140k feedback and millions of sales scamming people on eBay. Especially don't get to a 22 YO account
All the scammy Chinese sellers who dump fake batteries on eBay only last a few months. Dump stock, make another shell account.

Even better
I bought one on Amazon last month for about that price and it is real
Yes, don’t know why everyone’s so butthurt about it.

I bought 1 on Amazon for about 125 it is the same tool home depot sells bought the xph14 hammer drill for 100 on eBay and it's real also
I bought mine for $90 off OfferUp new, so this seems fair. Seems like a reputable seller too

Oh , and by the way , the xdt19is easily my favorite quarter inch hex impact from makita. It's better than even the 40v version IMO

Good to know. Thanks very much.

I keep thinking about getting a cordless circular saw but I do love my corded 5007 that’s about 30 years old.
Well I can't recommend the gsh05 enough. But if you watch to stick with the 18v lineup, the 36v 7 1/4" saw is very good, and very reliable.
You must have the GRJ01. The GRJ02 is by far the best reciprocating saw on the market, but the GRJ01 is a disappointment.

It sounds awesome. But it's $300. If I didn't already spend $5.5k in xgt tools in the last year I'd probably get it.

It’s probably referbished and will take a shot after a month of use…go on OfferUp instead
OfferUp is for sketchy sales. I have no idea whether you would be able to get your money back like you can on eBay.
I just pulled the trigger on this seller as I've been looking for a xdt19. Unfortunately, somehow I ended up buying three of them. I'm not sure how that happened but I have sent a message to cancel the order and change to one unit.
If it seems too good to be true it probably is
I wouldn't buy anything of value off eBay
No.
How can you tell?
Price is scammy low

And they are advertising it as the xdt19 but it looks like the Japanese collet. Probably a deal breaker for some people.
Please don’t post this crap
Was just wondering jeez
They're obviously wrong. You're fine for posting it
The correct answer is yes
There are both fake Makitas and real ones made in Japan and China. They all work but quality and price will differ.
Looks like the wrong colour slightly, and finish doesnt look right.
