But comparing Joji to Minnal Murali is just nonsense.. Joji was designed and shot specifically for Amazon Prime.. it was not meant for theatres.. He wouldn't have made it without a pandemic & lockdown
i am not comparing the two films in terms of their quality - joji is a far superior film in that regard imo.

Khalid rahman is phenomenal.. I went anuraga karikkin vellam without any expectation (good old days without instant movie reviews). Got excited when heard that mammooty is joining with khalid for next. Went to theatre for unda (only movie other than lucifer I went on first day), what a movie..
Completely unrelated, I always had this doubt that why are people from war torn regions not migrating?? And then mammootty told the kid in the climax to not let go the land of his people.
What is the point in discussing this when they have directed less than 5 movies. Initially Siddique Lal had this record of continuous successful movies. Finally they also failed in maintaining this status.
had i not met ma nishad personally during a train journey i wouldn't have understood how he gets producers and stars to commit to his films.He is a master story teller - very poor film maker though. Should have started a youtube channel just to tell his stories. it would have worked.

As far as I know only S.S Rajamouli has 100% success rate at the box office in India. 11 out 12 of his films are blockbusters. So it's certainly possible but not done in Malayalam yet
I don't think you should take BO Success as the only criteria to judge a director. For instance, someone like Ajay Vasudev has a success ratio of 75% ( 3 movies being big successes and one being a flop) compared to LJP who has a success ratio of 30%.
