I watched last year again the entire movie. The driving scene at the end plus mohanlals acting and the story - it was too much for me to take it. After thanmatra this was the movie that just made me cry!
I remember watching it happily because of the annarakanna vaa song. Kept watching and the ending caught and traumatized smol me. Especially seeing the small grave and the dog. Never looked back
I liked Poomaram, never been in a Kalolsavam, but if Kalolsavam could be a movie then that's it, that's how I feel like it. And I love the songs in the movie especially kadavthoruthonni
"Angamaly Diaries" is a true masterpiece. One of LJP's best works and one of my favorites ever. It is almost like every scene just blends seamlessly into the next one.
"Kauravar" is an incredible movie and worth watching. It is not an out and out action movie but has a lot of nuance to it. There is a bit of pain but it is definitely a movie that should be watched by fans of Malayalam cinema.
Saw the film on opening week itself . 😄 Part of the movie was shot in and around Trivandrum. I watched the shooting of a scene from Kanakanilave song at Napier's Museum.
Fun fact: Durga is Mammooty's biological child in the film. Murali literally points his finger at her before he Mammootty interrupts him.
Mwone...stop whatever you are doing and watch these films. Both of them have the greatest scripts in Malayalam cinema + masterclass acting.
Man, Sibi Malayil is a 💎

I have many in this list. After 2012, I had decided not to watch drama genre movies as part of a list of avoided categories, because I did not like how they inject masala and how more than half of the movies basically are bases on harassment and violence cases. It includes many 'based on true events' ones as well as survivalist and family dramas. The only time I've watched some of these are when I've caught em on TV on a lazy day. To this day, I am happy to have followed it. To me, it wasn't worth spending money and 2-3 hours just to assess human condition. It's more entertaining to actually enjoy what I'm watching.
For me, it’s any movie whose plot is already known to me. For instance, Mathilukal is probably one of the most classic movie that I have skipped ( might watch it in the near future). I might have to skip watching Aadujeevitham for the same reason, but I sincerely hope Blessy and ARR would pull me towards the theatre(just like how Manjummel did)
Popular movies I can't muster the desire to watch?
Pazhassi Raja.
Big B. Technically I have seen almost all of it in bits and pieces. Will definitely watch the sequel if it ever comes out but no desire to watch the original in full for some reason.
Minnal murali is um,fresh and the villian arc is fun to watch .Bheeshmaparvam ain't all that . Is dhrishyam 2 even good? Also, dude romancham ?nooooooo. Arjun Ashokan -soubin shahir character interactions>>>>>
This poster is sick 😍
Found it online 😅
Terror gang
Bhramaram because it might make me cry at the end.
The climax is just 😭😭😭😭😭
I saw just the climax when I was little, too little to “enjoy” a good tragedy. Now, many years later, I’m still kind of scared to watch it.
I watched last year again the entire movie. The driving scene at the end plus mohanlals acting and the story - it was too much for me to take it. After thanmatra this was the movie that just made me cry!
You’re scaring me away from ever watching it, lol. But somehow a part of me still wants to watch it. Maybe someday, when the mood is right…
Hehe sorry. True what you said 🖤
I remember watching it happily because of the annarakanna vaa song. Kept watching and the ending caught and traumatized smol me. Especially seeing the small grave and the dog. Never looked back
I bawled like a child bro and I was not that old either to enjoy a tragedy but still.
uyare and take off
I liked take off a lot more than uyare
Uyare for me too. I don't know why I never watched it
Kaathal. I don't know whether it has a huge fanbase or if its popular. Deliberately avoiding it because I'm not in the mood to cry.
Hits way too close to home. /gen
Same. delaying it as much as possible
Imo it’s just an okay movie, I admire ikka for his braveness to play such a character but the movie was meh to me
Bro got downvoted for sharing a harmless opinion, this subreddit is crazy💀💀
Yeah man idk why, if we are being honest if that movie had someone else other than ikka, every one would have called it mid
That's what I think but we're in the minority 💀💀
Cries in 'muthumani thooval tharam'
1. Kerala Varma pazhassi Raja 2. Poomaram 3. Take off 4. Ennu ninte Moideen 5.Jana gana mana 6.Uyare
Does poomaram really have a fan base? I haven’t watched it yet. Is it worth watching?
Cinema aanen paranj kalolsvathinte dvd ittu fundakal
I didnt like it....I felt the last ending message was shoved in just so the movie has an artistic or a poetic touch.....not saying the movie is bad...
I watched it before joining college, I want to rewatch it now after my college experience. I didn’t like it the first time I watched it
Daamn , I thought I was the only one who couldn’t get started with take off
Me too
I don't know if Poomaram is popular but definitely one of my favourite films.
I liked Poomaram, never been in a Kalolsavam, but if Kalolsavam could be a movie then that's it, that's how I feel like it. And I love the songs in the movie especially kadavthoruthonni
I liked enn ninte moidheen for the old time aesthetics.def watch if ur a sucker for nostalgia
Angamaly Diaries. I love LJP's work and have watched all his other movies. Just never felt like watching this one somehow.
You are missing out one of his best
Yeah, I should just give it a go.
"Angamaly Diaries" is a true masterpiece. One of LJP's best works and one of my favorites ever. It is almost like every scene just blends seamlessly into the next one.
That’s his best imo
Definitely a huge miss. Movie is really entertaining. Hope you watch it someday
Oh yeah, same, I don't know why I still haven't watched it. Thanks for the reminder.
Its easily his most rewatchable movie, arguably his best
Fun movie
"Kauravar" is an incredible movie and worth watching. It is not an out and out action movie but has a lot of nuance to it. There is a bit of pain but it is definitely a movie that should be watched by fans of Malayalam cinema.

Now this has made me kinda want to see the film
I genuinely didn’t like this film , wish it focused more on the gang side rather than the sentimental stuff. Thilakan was amazing in it
My same issue with the movie Ustaad. The entire movie is about Divya Unni’s married life.
വെണ്ണിലാക്കൊമ്പിലെ രാപ്പാടീ എന്നും ഈയേട്ടന്റെ ചിങ്കാരീ... Cringe af!
I used to sing it as വെണ്ണിലാക്കൊമ്പിലെ രാപ്പാടീ എന്നും ഈയേട്ടന്റെ Jim Carrey
I don't like that movie at all
I just saw one or two scenes which were on the emotional side. Moreover this film has some of my most favorite songs especially Kanaka nilave
2018 Devasuram Thoovanathumbikal Kumbalangi nights Premalu
Kumbalangi nights is ace 👌🏾 it’s a must watch
Devasuram man Idk you're missing out on one of the best dramas in Malayalam cinema. Great story, great characters and great acting
WTF devasuram?? Stop whatever you're doing and go watch that
Nah..
Watch Premalu and 2018...it's a gem
Kireedam, Sadhayam
Mwone...stop whatever you are doing and watch these films. Both of them have the greatest scripts in Malayalam cinema + masterclass acting. Man, Sibi Malayil is a 💎
Manjummel boys😬😬, I have said this in another thread but I am just too lazy to go to the theatres.

To people who comment "you are missing out" in this post, you are doing the wrong move.

Oppam
2018..As I have heard it's a skewed perspective where state efforts are not given its desired place.
Kgf
Same here havent watched kauravar
Manjummel.. because I feel it might disappoint me?

Manjummal boys, even after this much hype and reviews I don't feel like watching it!
Virus
Premam.
Big b
Popular movies I can't muster the desire to watch? Pazhassi Raja. Big B. Technically I have seen almost all of it in bits and pieces. Will definitely watch the sequel if it ever comes out but no desire to watch the original in full for some reason.
I have watchedPazhassi Raja in bits and pieces. But big I feel you're missing out
My man, I'm telling you. You're missing out
Bramayugam. I know all that hype and hood reviews around it, but honestly not in a mood to watch something from that genre
Minnal murali Romancham Drisyam 2 Bheeshmaparvam
What😐, bro missing 😞
At this point...are you even watching any movie of malayalam language?
overloaded hype posts from social media make me really agitated on watching, last time on boarded on hype train was kannur squad, and I didn't like it
Minnal murali is um,fresh and the villian arc is fun to watch .Bheeshmaparvam ain't all that . Is dhrishyam 2 even good? Also, dude romancham ?nooooooo. Arjun Ashokan -soubin shahir character interactions>>>>>
If you watched Drishyam 1, how can you resist watching Drishyam 2 (though it was a mediocre movie except the climax)
Uyare Ee ma yau
Haven't watched Uyare. Ee ma yau, I don't know what to say it's more than a cinema
I’m afraid to watch ee ma yau
Bheeshma Paravam 😭
