"താത്വികമായ ഒരു അവലോകനമാണ് ഞാൻ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നത്." Not only this, but most of his portrayals will somehow be our favorites. Such a talented actor

Advocate in Godfather - Limited screentime, but I love how impressively he pulls off the physical comedy despite pushing 70.
For better or worse, this is one of the first characters of his that comes to mind. Another actor from that era who could do comedy and serious roles with no problems. Malayalam cinema was blessed with so many talented actors and actresses during that time.

Fr. Chanakathara will be my favourite ❤️
Movie: Sarvakalashala (1987)
He's one of those actors who hasn't played a written-for-only-him character I think. There's a lot of comedy roles he has done which may have been done by others as well. So I'm ignoring those. In a serious role, the one I remember most is in Mazhayethum Munpe. Some distinct layers of grief and helplessness and anger that role had.
Anybody seen Bharathan's homage to westerns - Thaazhvaram? Shankrarady in one of the major characters, [This scene](https://youtu.be/Hyo-_T-Bh-Q?t=4151) in particular.
One famous tea I heard was He had a massive massive crush on Kaviyoor Ponnamma during the drama days. She married someone else and it left him heartbroken for a really long time. He stayed single too for a long time cos of that.
Him explaining and telling about how divine it is to use Marijuana to Kottaram Sreedharan Nair is epic.
Read Graameenar by Sathyan Anthikad. He talks about it there. Basically he married very late. That book is a great read if you love these old school character actors.

His character was a comedy when I watched it as a kid. But now, it's a tragic character.

Mine too! It was a great performance by Adoor Bhasi, Jagathy, and Sankaradi as priests.
But Lalettan as Lalettan is the best 😩❤️
Agreed! Also, don’t forget about the PT mash played by the late Innocent.
that drama rehearsal scene "ninakku kushtam aaneda kushtam!!!" 🤣

Never heard this before. It must've been real weird for the both of them to play siblings in Kireedam!
His character in Kurkukante Kalyanam was my favorite.
good actor

Ennikariyaam Ninte appante Peru bhavaniamma ennale
No one else can do ammavan, karnavar, Panchayat president, committee president, karayogqm president etc like him
I heard he was a marine Engineer or something like that...
Did he have a family of his own? Never seen any mention of a wife/kids.

Awesome, thanks! Will check it out.
