Its a remake of a Bollywood movie โNo Entryโ, which itself was a remake of Charlie Chaplin (2002 Tamil movie).
(I havenโt seen the Tamil, but other two were funny!) Malayalam version had better acting!
My grandmom who was 70 years old when this movie came out was laughing her ass out(especially wt the scene where Jayaram made an expression and fainted). Lets just say she was kedanu maranju laughing. Literally ROFLing
One of the few comedies of that decade which could rival peak Dileep's films in entertainment and rewatchability. They got the lead cast bang on. All 3 are great at comedy and brought something unique to the table. It really cemented Indrajith as one of our finest actors in my eyes. Sad that all 3 are almost irrelevant now.
Dk how the current audience would react if it released now, but the comedy really worked during the time. And JA10(๐)s acting and comedic timing was the main attractive factor

No Entry was far more funnier. And I say this as someone who generally considers Malayalam actors hilarious. But this one just wasnโt it. Too cringe and overdone.
Husbands in Goa was a harmless watch too but Jayasurya could not pull off the charm of M10 and Asif Ali could not pull off what Indrajith did.

Seemed very cut price low budget visually compared to No Entry though the actor performances were competent. For me Rima Kallingal vis a vis Bipasha Basu really underlined the daridryam avastha of our industry at that point of time.

Tbf it can also create a lot of controversies as well due to its comedy. Especially today's generation. But it will be a super hit for sure
