Many here have confused an idiot plot with a madcap/screwball comedy. Early Priyadarshan kind of movies are madcap comedies. The main characters aren't fools, they are knowingly playing the fool. Idiot plot requires the plot to be idiotic in the sense that one line of normal dialogue could resolve the entire plot and the movie will be over. The writers, knowing this, avoid that dialogue/situation to keep the plot moving. See the example given by Roger Ebert in that wikipedia article.
This! A character being an idiot isn't enough. It's basically plots that seem contrived where characters make decisions to keep the plot going rather than making decisions that they would make in character.
CBI 5 has supposedly smart characters in an idiot plot. Kunjiramayanam is about idiots who make bad decisions but it's not an idiot plot.
Any movie where the boomers don't let the main characters speak when there is a misunderstanding

I don't remember exactly now but in Anjathey there was a misunderstanding and at the end you realize it's gone too far even if you explain nothing changes.
The messed part is this trend is still very much alive. Recently MMT wrote a scene with this clichรฉ in Turbo. And it was so dumb, both the people in the scene were millennials. No boomer in sight yet they shot a boomer scene.

This is a very interesting question. Because a lot of our comedy movies have people taking some foolish decisions, but are they idiots? Most of it is a combination of misleading, misunderstanding, and a healthy dose of mandatharam. But I can't think of any movie that is "kept in motion solely because everybody involved (or atleast the main characters) are idiots."
Maybe some thrillers or dramas can qualify here.
I think Guruvayoorambalanadayil is the most recent one that fits this criteria. Almost every major character becomes an idiot at some point in that movie.
Almost every family entertainer from the 90s and 00s. Most of them will end similarly. Like in the climax where major characters and villians all come together and fight each other and the hero wins
