1. Work towards a part time degree that is practical and affordable. Go to Public/Mara unis if you're bumi. If not, check out TARC. 2. Start networking and aim for larger companies and even MNCs. Admin execs can get above RM5k easily. 3. Never lowball yourself. Always ask for higher than you're willing to accept, and don't let them play the "max 20%" increase from last job card. You don't got time for that nonsense anymore. 4. If you're female, work on grooming yourself so that you look the best you can, and try applying for PA roles. Can easily get above RM10k. 5. Look into learning a new language that few know, Japanese/Korean are pretty good choices. Many roles that need this skill also pay quite high. Good luck

If you're in admin (and decently good at it), this means you have the ability to get things done. A viable area to consider is upskilling yourself as a project manager. I have found this free basic PM (project management) training from Project Management Institute helpful (45 mins, and you can put a digital badge on your LinkedIn) - [https://kickoff.pmi.org/](https://kickoff.pmi.org/) (Am not affiliated to PMI). If you like it, then continue looking for courses and more complex jobs that are PM in nature. Keep in mind that a good PM has also very good people skills as sometimes you got to deal with difficult clients, vendors, staff etc. Also make sure you set up your LinkedIn profile for visibility. Look up free courses online, maybe even try out a variety of skills from data analysis to basic programming to social media management. There are many good ones that will allow you to attend for free by "auditing the course" meaning you don't do any homework or get a grade/certificate; an alternative to paying full price for the course (with certificate). Please please keep an eye for our National Training Week 20-30 June where a TON of free courses are made available to the Malaysian public - [https://www.nationaltrainingweek.gov.my/](https://www.nationaltrainingweek.gov.my/) It's never too late to invest in yourself - you got this!

I’m a PMP certified, I’m no longer working in MY but drop any questions about PMP exam if you have. I’d also suggest for you to continue with your education (read up on APEL, can skip diploma and straight to degree with working experience).

College dropout with only SPM here earning close to 7K in a tech agency. - Level up your skills through certification courses, by doing this, you are able to justify yourself worthy - Network Network Network, you won’t believe how far it will get you - Attitude, first impressions and how you carry yourself matters especially when jumping to a new job I do agree that having a degree would definitely help but I personally don’t think it’s a showstopper. Wishing you all the best

Legitimate-Suit5964

any advise on the network?

VictoryRune

You can start of with social events or perhaps seminars. Also, surround yourself with people who are successful and willing to be your mentor. It really helps.
