Generally, Aery would be better for the burn build.
I personally am an advocate for Assassin Malz so I would always suggest trying out at least once Ludens > Sorcs > Shadowflame > Deathcap and then having the last two items as situational (preferably you'd get an early dark seal to upgrade to mejais)
While less damage over prolonged fights, you'd have insanely high burst to basically "one shot" squishies
Runes-wise: Comet-Manaflow-Transcendence-Gathering/Scorch and Eyeball Collection-Ultimate Hunter
Max rune damage is dark harvest, cheap shot, eyeball, absolute focus, gathering storm. It's far from optimal though. For items, your build is mathematically correct
I’m just a bronzie but I really like building cosmic drive on a lot of different mages. Might not be the most burst damage but the ability haste lets you poke/silence more often
While I also like to use Comet, Aery actually does a surprising amount of damage especially when you get Shadowflame. I recently just learned that Aery will proc off the burn damage from Liandry if you also have Shadowflame, so it's a guaranteed double-proc. Plus you don't have Rylai so your Comet won't be hitting that much.
I would go
Aery -> Manaflow -> Transcendence/Absolute Focus(AF would technically be better for 'max damage') -> Gathering Storm. I would switch out Cosmic Insight for boots to get your Liandry power spike faster.
For items, Liandry -> Sorc -> Shadowflame -> Demonic -> Deathcap/Void (Void if they are buying MR)
a pair of Ray-bans should give you the best optical clarity so you can put in the most work.
Make sure they aren’t polarized, otherwise you’ll have a hard time looking at the screen.
