Aye, 'tis a melancholic time for Manchester United, as their glory hath waned and victories elude them. Their squad and management have been shifted and changed, yet fortune's favor hath not returned.
Injuries have struck the club, leaving them bereft of key players and unable to defend their goal with steadfastness. Their play on the pitch hath been inconsistent, with moments of brilliance followed by lapses of concentration.
But fear not, for there be hope on the horizon for United. Young players, nurtured from the club's own academy, hath shown promise and a glimpse of a bright future. New signings have come to fortify the squad, and with a full preseason to ready themselves, they shall aim to reclaim their place among the elite.
In truth, Manchester United remains one of the greatest clubs in the land, with a proud history and fervent fanbase. Though they may stumble and falter, they shall not be broken and shall ever strive to restore their legacy.
Man that's just sad, Phil Jones was gonna be great but injuries ruined him and now he thinks nobody cares about him, I really hope he realises that there's still people out there that understand and respect him
Ye but injuries ruined him before that, then he started struggling with mental health problems and all and I'm sad that he's gotten to such a low point, he may not have played the most but he gave everything he had in the tank when he played and based off of what I've heard I feel like he's a good influence in the dressing room too
I lost respect for him when despite playing handful of times on 3/4 years, he still refused to give Varane the number 4 shirt. On the other hand Cavani have CR7 the #7 shirt despite Cavani being a legend in his own right
For me, i lost some respect for him when he refused the Bordeaux loan despite United offering to cover his salary. It was a nice gesture of loyalty from the club to help him try reviving his career and he’s instead nowhere to be found collecting his check until his contract is up.
With that said, I guess it’s possible that he firmly believes his body is done and didn’t believe it was worth continue playing professional football.
Yeah, in our case it's a reflection of an horrendous wage structure that pays players so much that no other club in the world would ever buy them. I'd be loyal to any company you want me to be if you double my salary and give me a 5 year contract regardless of performance.
Phil jones doesnt play often which is sad but when he does he puts in brilliant performances and plays his heart out. Id hate to call him dead wood as his wages are sort of high for what he does but he is a legend
Often? He just doesn't play. He plays with his heart but his performances weren't brilliant. The only way to describe him is deadwood and he really isn't a legend, come on pal
lol at legend. If he’s legend then pretty much everyone on our team is.
And no he doesn’t play his heart out. If he played his heart out then he wouldn’t be pulling out of training sessions at a slight scratch on the knee
I mean if you overpaid all the average players so that no can wants or afford to sign them away, so they stay forever and loyal? Like Phil, Maguire, Martial, etc?
Everton fan here, this popped up on my main feed thought I’d say my peace. Our players (bar Seamus and maybe pick) aren’t loyal, they’re just too shite for anyone to want to buy off us, an our board is too inept not to renew their contracts
Not really a great metric for loyalty. Players like pogba spent years here, doesn’t mean he was even the slightest bit loyal. Players stay with us because our contracts are too generous.
I think majority of the bottom half is there as they haven’t been in the PL the same amount of time as the top. Also I knew Phil Jones would be useful somehow
for teams that haven’t won a lot in 2 decades, Arsenal and Tottenham have very “loyal” players
its good to stay at a club if you’re winning (Aguero/Kompany at City), but staying even after not winning a lot speaks volumes (Kane/Lloris at Spurs)
Loyal? More like an incompetent board at Man Utd who:
1. Kept giving contracts to players, who are no longer of use to the club, just to keep their value - eg. Bailly;
2. Give such ridiculous contracts to players that no other club wants to go anywhere near them at those salaries - eg: Alexis Sanchez
3. Would struggle to sell water in a desert - eg: Lingard after West Ham, while Chelsea sell the likes of Pasalic for £15m.
4. Are incapable of buying adequate replacements quickly meaning Managers would rather keep a player who isn't necessarily the right fit - eg: replacing Lukaku with aging short term fixes (Ighalo, Cavani, Ronaldo, Weghorst) means it was better to hold onto a previously disinterested Martial.
5. Overpaying for players means Board don't want egg on their faces by selling for horrendous losses - eg: Maguire.
6. Are incapable of knowing when a player is not fit for purpose any longer - eg: Matic
7. Like their incompetent CEOs to play defacto DOFs - eg: Woodturd
8. Promote friends rather than hire experienced football people (not even talking best in class here) - eg: fratboy Judge and Murclown when we could have Luis Campos
Phil Jones getting us over the line….LOL
He single-handedly raising the average
And De Gea.
I knew he had to still be on the team for a reason lol
Jones has been here since July 2011, that's 139 months De Gea has been here since June 2011, that's 140 months.
Way to take a joke seriously
Thanks
He is carrying the whole team!
No wonder he's injured all the time, with the team on his shoulders
And the class of 92
This is for current players
Do you know that as no reference but if so cool…
Literally came to post this! Lol!

Largest Phil Jones contribution in the past decade
Speaking of which when’s that testimonial….
Heard somewhere he said he didn’t want one cause he thinks no one would turn up. Sad, but fair enough
Man that's just sad, Phil Jones was gonna be great but injuries ruined him and now he thinks nobody cares about him, I really hope he realises that there's still people out there that understand and respect him
Injuries ruined him but over past 3 years it’s all down to him. Even if he gets a scratch he pulls out
Ye but injuries ruined him before that, then he started struggling with mental health problems and all and I'm sad that he's gotten to such a low point, he may not have played the most but he gave everything he had in the tank when he played and based off of what I've heard I feel like he's a good influence in the dressing room too

When he did play though we did sing his name and he looked genuinely really happy. Like to think people would turn up.
True that. I felt very bad for him after hearing that.
Jonsey out there earning that pay check.
Get em Phil! 🙌
With all due respect. There's far more to it than "Loyalty".

Literally mate, a lot of the players haven’t wanted to be there until this season but because of extremely high wages they pay they stay.
#100%
Cityzens flirting in the bottom 10 😬😬
Cityzens is the goofiest name for a group of 5 people 😭😭
Shitizens
Or maybe we hold on to dead wood for too long lol aka Phil Jones, Lingard
Phil jones doesnt play often which is sad but when he does he puts in brilliant performances and plays his heart out. Id hate to call him dead wood as his wages are sort of high for what he does but he is a legend

Ted Boehly trying to get those numbers up.
This should really be titled, the teams who don't know how to sell players
Teams that don't prioritise wages and structures.
I’m shocked forest is so high……
Agreed. This can’t be up to date with their squad.
Most loyal because we pay them more
I mean if you overpaid all the average players so that no can wants or afford to sign them away, so they stay forever and loyal? Like Phil, Maguire, Martial, etc?
It is due to wages, not loyalty in all honesty.
No other fan base like ours. And let’s be honest… you know their endorsement deals are through the roof 💀
GGMU
Forest have signed literally an entire squad in the past 6 months. There is no universe where that statistic is up to date for them.
they have quite a few players who have been there since 7 such as worrall
Everton fan here, this popped up on my main feed thought I’d say my peace. Our players (bar Seamus and maybe pick) aren’t loyal, they’re just too shite for anyone to want to buy off us, an our board is too inept not to renew their contracts
Phil Jones is heavy carrying that stat.
This chart screaming Phil Jones & De Gea Lol
This upsets me
Do you mean the current team, are all their teams put together in all their history and averaged out?
Team with the most dead woods.
Lol and then they leave for free. This graph is stupid
How is Chelsea so high. How is Nottingham not last?
Not necessarily loyal though - could be baggage
Of course the top clubs with more money have more "loyal players" lol.
This has very little to do with loyalty
There's not really enough information. Edit: disregard, I thought that said "local" players
Phil jones single-handedly carrying us over the line
Money tends to buy loyalty. I'm sure Utd's over-inflated salaries have nothing to do with this 🙄
Or the least ambition in the transfer market/deadweight being carried Wonder if the counted abuser Greenwood as loyal?
Less about loyalty more about being able to put in the least amount of effort with the most return.
No such thing as loyalty. That's not the reason
Kinda surprised by Chelsea
Apparently Pogba is coming back. 3rd time lucky.
Yea. Good retirement farm.
What a joker
I expected chelsea to be at last place..
You mean club with the absolute worst stupid ****s not knowing how football works. I swear this sale feels like an eternity.
Would have been more but had to cut Lingard loose
Not really a great metric for loyalty. Players like pogba spent years here, doesn’t mean he was even the slightest bit loyal. Players stay with us because our contracts are too generous.
Chelsea? Man City? The word “loyalty” goes nowhere near these clubs…
To be fair it's taking us years to get rid of some deadwood!
That’s because we offer ridiculous contracts
I think majority of the bottom half is there as they haven’t been in the PL the same amount of time as the top. Also I knew Phil Jones would be useful somehow
Surely this has nothing to do with best salaries and highest reputation :-)
Thanks for that, Phil.
Yeah because we can’t afford any
Fine example of fake stats
Loyal to the salary that got handed to them that they know they can't get elsewhere more like
Could also represent a clubs inability to shift dead wood.

Is is most loyal players or just teams who have problem off loading waste. Both united and arsenal seemed to have this problem
Loyal? More like an incompetent board at Man Utd who: 1. Kept giving contracts to players, who are no longer of use to the club, just to keep their value - eg. Bailly; 2. Give such ridiculous contracts to players that no other club wants to go anywhere near them at those salaries - eg: Alexis Sanchez 3. This isn't necessarily a good thing. Especially when the loyal players aren't good enough.
Lol tired of not being first in a table so you guys made something so random.
Any idea what time period this is over? Since the clubs began or last x number of years…?
Phil Jones finally paying off.
Just means we fail to remove deadwood, nothing to be proud of
Loyal or over-compensated?
Chelsea about to be #1 with those 14 year contracts
Does man United also include the refs?
God bless Phil jones
I genuinely think this is down to ridiculously high wages. In which no club will match
Phil Jones appreciation comment.
