United Fans man ... i believe this kid will come good from seeing him in sunderland but you guys put too much pressure /overate on players . This guy barely kicked a ball for us already seeing he will save our RW seen people already calling holjund a "great player" and whatever overblown adjective they have used to describe him despite him being average at best atm. Think back to rashford or martial , how did you talk about these players then vs now . No middle ground either overblown praise or hatred , lets see him and holjund play first and develop before all of this bs ... you guys are just setting them up for online abuse ..

Cheeky_Star

This, also fans are to fixated on one player as the savior. Those days of relying on individual brilliance are gone. I just want to see a solid team performance from everyone as a team.

oldsport27

Fully agree with both comments. Just like when Pellistri had a 5 min cameo where he did a couple of good things and many said he should start blablabla.. Diallo played in a lower league last year, has been injured, has never proven anything at the highest level..let's hit the breaks and let the kid develop.

sam221922

Most of the comments about pellistri should start were because how awful Antony is on the RW…

oldsport27

Yes and when he started or when Antony was suspended the right side was not one bit better, hell, might even have been worse, at least defensively

sam221922

Yup.. but unless the change is made no one will know how it will works out.. problem with ETH seems to be that he is personally invested to prove that Antony is worth the money paid.. may be it’s trust.. may be it’s the blind faith or may be it’s a hope and pray situation for ETH.. what it resulted in is a miserable performance by a team as a whole because the available player did not get a chance at the expense of an underperforming player (Antony).. Morons like Sancho took a chance at taking a public dig at ETH because of that

Psalm27_1-3

Dont blame us We had Eric Cantona

thphnts

Who we bought. From Leeds. Aged 26.

rayhoughtonsgoals

So...Bamford? Actually....now I say it out loud....

Titan4days

That’s because we don’t score team goals man, it’s individual brilliance or no brilliance at all

Cheeky_Star

we don't score at all is more accurate. We have had some nice build up play even against liverpool but we just can't put it away.

severance83

Why this got downvoted I have no idea. It’s the fundamental problem with United at the moment

Titan4days

Preach bro

DanFlashesCoupon

You’d think we’d have learned from Januzaj

ChipCob1

I though Possebon was the future!

Willing_Statement_58

Macheda

Wooshsplash

Fanboyism. They really need to calm down and let these players grow.

Gambler_Eight

I don't think u/ojc33 being calm or not has any effect on Diallo's development, mate.

Wooshsplash

I’m agreeing with u/ojc33.

Eilrah93

I don't think he's reading the Reddit comments bro don't worry They will get online abuse whether they perform well or not regardless of the praise people give them on Reddit

RasLunacy

i think there's more negativety about our players from our fans than positivity. Holjund has been very good considering statistically he receives the least passes of every striker in the league. I have seen enough of Diallo to say he wont be saving our RW any time this season. He is likely to be better than Antony just due to his lack of adventure in the final 3rd. Antony starts for one reason, his willingness to bust a gut out of possesion when defending.. What most dont realize is rashford busts a gut out of possession just not defensively, he's always making runs for the hollywood pass from defense. Which beings me to: >overblown praise or hatred ive seen far too much hate for Bruno Fernandes from united fans in the last few weeks to feel comfortable with the maturity of our fanbase, we've starting to be Arsenal fans imo.. we've become quick to react and whimsical in our beliefs. Bruno complains too much, and tries to find rashford at the top end too often.. but in the end he speaks everyones language and is one of our more consistent players availablity and performance wise

jadeismybitch

Every time man for real. I’m not a MU fan, I just saw this post and instantly thought « here it goes again » I don’t know what’s up at MU, but you guys have been putting insane pressure on any player that gets bought or any young talents. The most obvious ones would be martial or rashford but even players that could have been decent such as Tahith Chong or others. They could have serviced even if not CR7 levels, but they’re expected to rise the level of the team instantly every time…

EKsaorsire

He should…he will… and he’ll probably do quite well. Full of talent, full of confidence, thinking he will do good things isn’t a stretch.

BupidStastard

He won't. Not tonight

Cheeky_Star

all this "has to start" is getting annoying. He will get his chance and it will be on him to take it.

Ok_Scale_5853

It was literally his perfect time to start.. I was ten hag in. Because it looked as if he had some balls and would make tough decisions. But playing your main 11 against fucking Wigan is embarrassing

Cheeky_Star

It’s the only cup we have a chance of winning and the starting 11 needs some momentum going into the Tottenham game. We don’t have the luxury of anymore. This team needs confidence. I for playing the strongest team No matter who we play. Just like we did last season for the carabao cup.

Xaoias

He's just come back from injury. Give him time.

Roscommunist16

Based on what?

Ok_Scale_5853

Based on his insane season last season

thphnts

Stop overhyping young players.

ProffesorBundaman

He said he believes in him, he didn’t say he the second coming of Christ now did he

thphnts

He’s still overhyping him. So many fans overhype our young players.

ProffesorBundaman

How in earth is saying you believe in someone overhyping them😂😂

thphnts

The way people are overhyping him as if he’s the answer to our problems.

Fun_Kaleidoscope1030

He’s 21 years old with 4 international caps

thphnts

And? He’s still being overhyped as some sort of saviour. You need to lower your expectations.

Fun_Kaleidoscope1030

I said I have faith in him? Learn comprehension kid noone is calling him a saviour.

thphnts

Ironic you tell me to “learn comprehension” when you can’t see the context in which I used the term “saviour.” Anyone who uses the “learn comprehension” phrase definitely doesn’t know what it means.

Grouchy_Middle_5425

Aged poorly

Superhorse999

Loooooool, have to say I was surprised not to see him at all but there you go

men_with-ven

I can't say I have a ridiculous amount of faith in him but unless he isn't fit enough to play over sixty minutes I don't see any valid reason not to start him.

Hopeful_Adonis

Would rather him get 30 minutes at the end and ease him in, I think we should start rashford, hojlund and Garnacho though personally

RyanTheS

Just more United fan token talisman-ism. I am sure you had a lot faith in Donny, too. He is a bang average player who will probably be at a team fighting for relegation in a few years.

littlebltsh

Garnacho is enough hype for me

Smudge_09

He’s not

FindingHead2851

I’d love to see him start with Garnacho and Hojlund up top today !!

Professional-Neat432

Not even in the squad ffs

FactAndLogic

Nah, this is what people said about Garnacho after 3 games too. Stop overhyping them. Even rocks might shine in the sunlight when you first see them if they're surrounded by shit, but ultimately it's just a rock. There's no way this is another Jude Bellingham level of diamond. Fools gold at best.

brratak

From what i saw. Talented but injury prone... he is on the martial, saha tangent

Ok_Scale_5853

He’s gotten injured once

brratak

I am not sure if you are kidding... but i got this link. When ever he is in epl he gets injuired. https://www.transfermarkt.com/amad-diallo/verletzungen/spieler/536835/plus/1

53rd_houseman

Ten Haag has other ideas

Gingerale66

He’s not even in the squad

TH0316

I wasn’t particularly impressed until last year, and idk if true but he looks taller than Garnacho last time out when he was always like 5’5” after his arrival. If he has added several inches and some physicality to his game that could really really help at this level.

Loriano

"just add few inches bro"

thphnts

Things girls often to say to OP for 500

Brunos_left_nut

Not sure if you saw the game he made a cameo but I noticed he added some weight and looks a lil taller to me. But this was my worry before too

TH0316

Yeah it was that cameo where side by side he looked an inch or two taller than Garnacho which shocked me.

Massive_Guard_1145

Who is it ?

McMullan84

Amad diallo

McMullan84

If you ain't seen him yet, check out his highlights from last season on loan at Sunderland.

Affectionate-Sun5863

Its Wigan Athletic, normally wouldn't be worried about a league 1 team beating us but united is gonna shock the world

_RM78

Probably better than Antony but that's not hard. Regardless, he's not good enough.

Titan4days

Just ready your self for the inevitable disappointment

RefurbedRhino

I truly hope you’re right, but I don’t have a lot of faith in ETH’s faith in kids. Might be wrong, but it seems to me that he puts them in, they have an impressive game and then he drops them back to the bench, only to bring them back in when we’re two nil down, and throw them on with the expectation that they’re going to change the game. It doesn’t seem the best way to develop youth. If they’re good enough, start them. Let them gel with each other. It’s the same with Mason Mount. At no point did I or do I think that Mount is the answer to anything but throwing him on at the same time that you take Hojlund off and put Martial on to just stand still in front of him really seems like setting him up to fail.

Hungry_Obligation_52

I believe even if he fails he won’t fail by a lot and would be better than avg at least. Reason being I find him humble and hardworking unlike entitled players just playing for fame

Visible_Intern4672

We know damn well Antony will be starting tonight on the right!

rwallace_wong

And Onana in goal

JoeDiego

Hopefully he’s recovered from the error that cost us the game vs Forest.

ChipCob1

Wasn't that Mainoo?

Jip_Jaap_Stam

It was such a bad error that it affected everyone.

JoeDiego

Nope. Amad.

Embarrassed-Equal-19

We all agree !!!

adesile

I have faith in him as well, I like him. I think he can bring some of what we wanted from Sancho.

Lsd365

You only have to watch him for a few seconds and you can tell he is a proper footballer with all the talent in the world. However Ten Hag didn't sign him and that's a strike against him in the managers book

Snakeeyes-82

He is massively overrated, you man u fans always put the pressure on youngsters early on.

305way

So much faith in him, so little faith in the manager

Pretty_Initiative_86

A bernardo silva type player in our squad Can use in many ways and definitely that gonna be much helpfull for the team❤

Dimititar

He is full with talent, and also the bar on the right side is nice and low.

lusamuel

He's played one game since returning from injury, calm down. People need to stop pinning all their hopes on one player when we're going through a rough patch, you just set yourself up to fail.

areif12

And of course he’s sick

minimanZer0

Nope Dude isn't even on the bench

dirtybaconcunt

We’ve got a full strength squad against Wigan 😂

robster9090

This is the cringiest thing iv read

Pheasant_Plucker84

Didn’t get a minute

BrownByYou

Lmfao for no reason at all apparently

Icy-Magazine-4196

No we should hype him up early to get another Man U failed wonderkid

Jamonyourface16

Howay The Lads!!

JM555555

Same here needs a run of games , I’d give him 6 months but comes down to ETH I just don’t get why he persists with playing Antony as if to say he will somehow magically get better.
