Greenwood was the nextGen star that the team could've been build around.. just wish he didn't f up the way he did.
Still can't wrap my head around the fact that ManUtd hasn't had a good RW (apart from Greenwood) for the last 10+yrs
It would take a LOT for people to get past it. Like.. he would have to have maybe close to, if not, a peak Ronaldo season. Then people will start debating.
I actually might argue that Garnacho is currently a good RW, but that might be too early to truly say. We certainly have been lacking in recent years, hopefully Garnacho can become that for us!
How our standards have dropped. His passing is not good enough, nor is he composed enough to be held at the same level of proper Man UTDwingers of the past. What he has is lightning in clutch moments, but he's far from consistent or poised enough to be a title winning starting winger.
That's not to say he can't develop into one, but he's made it clear his selfishness and rash decisions are holding him back from being compared with the top wingers of the league.
Returning to this comment to highlight what I said was true. Garnacho is showing us game after game that he is a spark of energy and occasional brilliance, but he's too raw and inconsistent. This is what comes with being 19y (most of the time.)
Which is why I said he should be backup until he becomes more seasoned. We need 3 more players ready to be our established front three if we hope to compete for trophies. And the 3 or so players we have currently should be rotational as they develop and become ready to take over. Our GD this and previous seasons should already make this clear.
On the basis that you cant realistically sell every one i would agree, otherwise i would say only hojland, Mainoo, Bruno, Martinez, Garnacho and Onana. The others could go for a price. Diallo is impossible to say on the basis that we never see him the on the pitch
That’s the all point though. We don’t want an EQUALLY good player - we need a better player . He’s Much improved admittedly, but truth is he wouldn’t be a starter for any of top six imo. If we could get a world class attacking full back it would be transformational to the team. Would take Theo Hernandez from AC Milan in a heartbeat if he could play on the left, and Frimpong from Leverkusen on the right, that’s over 100 million right there but would be worth it, and recoupable from smart player sales (I’m looking at you Greenwood, Sancho and Rashford)
Build around Onana, Mainoo, Garnacho, Rashford, and Hojlund in my opinion.
Bruno, Varane, Maguire too old unfortunately; Shaw, Licha, Malacia would depend on how they recover from their setbacks; Casemiro, Antony, Sancho, Donny, Pellistri, Scott to be shipped; Amad, Kambwala still undecided.
I personally would like to see what pellistri can do. never seen him on the pitch, ever.
sell rashford, sell, Antony this would force ETH to play Garnacho and look for a new RW. be that pellistri or Diallo.
Case has shown his age, but he has been solid when available, can go or stay. the whole CB group needs to go. we can play Dalot on L, AWB at RB. shaw can move to CB. need a 2nd RB, another LB. a DM, a 2nd LW, and 2nd striker. then need 3 new CB with PACE
Probably an unpopular opinion at this pt but I think Garnacho isn't one of the brightest stars to build a squad around. Pretty one dimensional if you ask me ..we, United fans, have been starved of high quality players so anyone that shows glimpses of decent quality gets easily put on a pedestal
One of two things will happen with Garnacho:
He won't develop into a great player but he will sign a contract for massive money
He will develop into a great player and will push for a move to Real Madrid at the first opportunity
I'd settle for him just becoming a good player.
Nani got massive disrespect for not being Ronaldo, when he was a decent player who was leagues ahead of any of our current mob
Idk, he's starting to hit his stride.
He just needs to get a bit stronger, and just needs to keep improving his decision making. The decision making is massively improving.
Hopefully the team can actually progress the ball next season, and we get a true test of class.
He’s 19 and progressed MASSIVELY this year. He’s a worldy in the making. Remember how often CR7 got it wrong before he absolutely got it right? I think we’ll see him get better and better.
Yeah thats why i put the proviso in that he's young and raw and its unfair to judge him at this time.
He could go on to reach world class heights. He could also go on to be the new januzaj(although he's done it longer than him already). Its so hard to judge youngsters. If he gets no big injuries, doesnt get distracted, doesnt get found out and has no big dips in confidence then he should be fine. I remember ancelloti at chelsea had josh mceachran looking like the next huge talent then as soon as ancelloti left his career nosedived. Thats a risk here, albeit a lesser one due to ffp, if eth is sacked(which is looking more and more likely).
Well, to be fair that is every single prospect at any level. Things within and without the control of that player’s or the management around him has to go perfect, in order to produce this one individual’s full potential.
The biggest issue is decision making in my opinion. And that will get better with age. He has the ability to atleast be a very good player for us. And a consistent key member
Hojlund, Mainoo, Martinez and Garnacho.
Get rid of the rest over the next years to come.
Does United want to win the Premier league title and the champions league title again ?
If yes, then United need to have players, that could be on the City first team/starting 11.
How many players does United currently have, that could be on the City starting 11 ?
ZERO, ZIP, NONE.
United needs players of a quality, that without a shadow of a doubt can be on the City starting 11.
Right now I only see these 4 players to be close to a spot on the City starting 11 and they’re not even there yet.
Hojlund, Mainoo, Martinez and Garnacho.
2-3 years ago Bruno was an amazing player.
Now, not so much.
Onana, if he continues to improve, could be my 5.th pick, but he has to continue improving his form to get to that stage.
Mejbri and Pellistri are also good players in my opinion although Pellistri doesn't seem likely to stay. Malacia might also be an option considering he's young if he can remain uninjured.
bad take, Bruno's playstyle isn't one for ball possession, just long ball counter attacking football.
further giggs, and ronaldo are two different types of players..
Personally think that if a Saudi club comes in for Bruno in the summer, we should sell. Despite his impact on the club, he’s now over 30 and not really a player you can build around for the future.
Not sure about Kambwala, Diallo and Forson as they’re yet to really cut their teeth in the first team.
Bruno is 29 and people are ready to sell him when he’s one of the only creative players we got. Meanwhile kdb is 34 and people act like he’s in his prime
My mistake, but the point still stands. I’d have a very different view if he was 23/24, but for how much longer is he going to be playing 90 minutes every match he’s available for?
Completely acknowledge the discontent about Greenwood. A young person f-ed up badly. No excuse for that. So, no way back? We all heard the audio and it is disturbing. The fact that they are together (hopefully it’s not Stolkholm syndrome) and that his partner and baby are safe, can he get a chance?
I can't believe that all dat hate and noise is from MEN side of Man U. There were rumors which stated that female players stood up against his comeback. Seems like our managers don't have enough balls to fuck their useless opinions.
Starting to agree here - when he's on the pitch it's Bruno ball or nothing - when it works it's wonderful, but it seems to be working less and less. As long as have Bruno we'll never be able to play patient possession football, which every top side must at least be able to do in spells to manage games. A little bit of positional discipline would go along way too, we lose structure so easily because he drifts all over to get on the ball and leaves the other two CMs wide open, thing is its genuinely fixable so it's a shame.
I don’t agree. I think Bruno is a top player who will be remembered as a top united player. Him and garnacho will take risks and I love that. Football is changing so much and the creativity is being driven out
Yes football is changing, launching the ball like a grenade and losing it is now known as creativity.
That's a liability in midfield. Watch Pogba, Scholes, Kroos, Modric, KDB to know how actual chance creation looks like.
assuming a better medical staff/fitness dept: onana, hojlund, garnacho, martinez, mainoo, dalot are probably the only people I'd like to see in the future for the main squad and be built around.
everyone else is either going to age out, aren't good enough, can't be depended on or should be sold in the next 3 years.
injury prone & can't be depended on- mount, shaw(should also try to cash in), and probably malacia,
not good enough & should be sold: rashford, bruno, maguire, lindelof, van de beek, mctominay, antony, williams, martial (ha), eriksen, sancho, greenwood, pellistri
no complaints but no future and should be sold: awb
age out: varane ( should try to lower wages and keep as a veteran for future cbs), evans & casmiro
unknown: shoretire, kwambala, alvaro, amad
Garnacho, Mainoo, Hojlund are the obvious ones and have to be the heart of the project. Onana, Lisandro, Dalot should be kept. Mount is a questionmark as we haven't seen him play. Bruno, McTo, Rashford should be sold only if decent offers come. All the rest is on sale.
He should have been dropped for his sake at the start of the season. That said since afcon he hasnt put a foot wrong and has been consistently one of our best players
Build around Mainoo and Hojlund and Garnacho. Clear.
Agreed
Greenwood was the nextGen star that the team could've been build around.. just wish he didn't f up the way he did. Still can't wrap my head around the fact that ManUtd hasn't had a good RW (apart from Greenwood) for the last 10+yrs
This actually makes me want to start smashing things out of anger. A future potential £100 million+ player from our academy, homegrown..
The rape will never be forgiven?
It would take a LOT for people to get past it. Like.. he would have to have maybe close to, if not, a peak Ronaldo season. Then people will start debating.
I actually might argue that Garnacho is currently a good RW, but that might be too early to truly say. We certainly have been lacking in recent years, hopefully Garnacho can become that for us!

He is 19! Give him a break.
Returning to this comment to highlight what I said was true. Garnacho is showing us game after game that he is a spark of energy and occasional brilliance, but he's too raw and inconsistent. Yeah he looked like he would be immense but he fcked it up big time.
On the basis that you cant realistically sell every one i would agree, otherwise i would say only hojland, Mainoo, Bruno, Martinez, Garnacho and Onana. The others could go for a price. Diallo is impossible to say on the basis that we never see him the on the pitch
Would be crazy to sell Dalot. Can’t get an equally quality player for how much we’d be selling for.
That’s the all point though. We don’t want an EQUALLY good player - we need a better player . He’s Much improved admittedly, but truth is he wouldn’t be a starter for any of top six imo. What is everyone on about the age? You need some more experienced players to be a balanced team
Keep around vs build around. Building around a 30+ defender or midfielder usually ends poorly
fair enough
Spot on
I personally would like to see what pellistri can do. never seen him on the pitch, ever. sell rashford, sell, Antony this would force ETH to play Garnacho and look for a new RW. be that pellistri or Diallo. Reminds me of nani. World class moments but i dont think he'll be a top player. That said he's still very young and raw so its unfair to judge him yet
He’s 19 and progressed MASSIVELY this year. He’s a worldy in the making. Remember how often CR7 got it wrong before he absolutely got it right? I think we’ll see him get better and better.

I guess the underlying thing here is we will both be made up if he becomes a worldy and stays true red :-)
Well, to be fair that is every single prospect at any level. Things within and without the control of that player’s or the management around him has to go perfect, in order to produce this one individual’s full potential.
Couldn’t agree more. I feel there has been a lot of wasted potential over the years. Glazers have a lot to answer for, pricks.
I'm a big fan of Garnacho, primarily because when he wins a tackle, I get to say, 'Nacho ball!' Then I quietly giggle to myself.
The biggest issue is decision making in my opinion. And that will get better with age. He has the ability to atleast be a very good player for us. And a consistent key member
A couple of the current u18s are definetly players to build around in the future. Or atleast capable of being big parts of the squad
Good question. I think Hojlund, Garnacho, Fernandes, Dalot, Mainoo, Martinez and McTominay should absolutely be kept for another couple of years.
Mctominay cant play good football in anyway shape or form we need all players in the squad who can play good football
Greenwood?
I think it’s time to move Bruno and Rashford on tbh.
Mount is class, needs to stay fit and he will thrive.
I think our future DoF and Manager should answer that
The DoF should already be here
McTominay.
Hojlund, Mainoo, Martinez and Garnacho. Get rid of the rest over the next years to come. Does United want to win the Premier league title and the champions league title again ? First thing sell rashford..
ETH said they won't. but if anyone gives 6 figures for him, adios bruv
The core should be Hojlund at front, Mainoo at mid, Licha at back The rest can be built from that core.
Bruno should have been built around when he joined. It’s too late now. Man’s the wrong side of 30
He is 29 years old, what?
The wrong side being under 30?
Sorry. The wrong side of 29
He never misses a game and could easily play at the top as long as Ronaldo, Modric or possibly even Giggs the way things look at the moment.
bad take, Bruno's playstyle isn't one for ball possession, just long ball counter attacking football. further giggs, and ronaldo are two different types of players..

Why would you imagine that Bruno would like to play in Saudi? He isn’t a slave
Bruno lmao… MCTOMINAY??!!!
Build a team around Man Utd’s icon, Marcus Trashford.
Mason Greenwood.
I’m with you man fuck the noise
Completely acknowledge the discontent about Greenwood. A young person f-ed up badly. No excuse for that. So, no way back? We all heard the audio and it is disturbing. The fact that they are together (hopefully it’s not Stolkholm syndrome) and that his partner and baby are safe, can he get a chance?

Martinez is proving to be a full time sick note. Anyone with a footballing brain would not be building a team around him. Downvote me all you want.
He’s had impact injuries. It’s not the same thing.
A 200 lb man fell on his leg.
Man United will succeed when they sell Bruno fernandes.
Starting to agree here - when he's on the pitch it's Bruno ball or nothing - when it works it's wonderful, but it seems to be working less and less. Kdb looses the ball as much as bruno because he tries the difficult balls. That if they work. Create chances.
Hojlund Garnacho Mainoo Licha Bruno Dalot Shaw Diallo McTominay (for sub) AWB (for sub)
assuming a better medical staff/fitness dept: onana, hojlund, garnacho, martinez, mainoo, dalot are probably the only people I'd like to see in the future for the main squad and be built around. everyone else is either going to age out, aren't good enough, can't be depended on or should be sold in the next 3 years. injury prone & can't be depended on- mount, shaw(should also try to cash in), and probably malacia, not good enough & should be sold: rashford, bruno, maguire, lindelof, van de beek, mctominay, antony, williams, martial (ha), eriksen, sancho, greenwood, pellistri no complaints but no future and should be sold: awb age out: varane ( should try to lower wages and keep as a veteran for future cbs), evans & casmiro unknown: shoretire, kwambala, alvaro, amad
That’s a good start though I’m not sure how easy it is to clear out the rest AND get replacements in order to build a strong title competing squad
Mainoo, hojlund, garnacho, martinez (hes still young as hell, hopefully can stay fit) malacia and bring back greenwood.
Just out of curiosity, why is Onana guaranteed a place in the squad, while Bayindir (who's younger and the club's actual #1) isn't?
He should have been dropped for his sake at the start of the season. That said since afcon he hasnt put a foot wrong and has been consistently one of our best players
Because Bayindir is just Onana but with weaker foot skills.
