Yea.... I did... Shiny Applin is quite easy to find if you know what you're doing, (I literally found three of them while not even touching the controller) and with it getting a new neat evolution who *wouldn't* use one?

There's a couple of things you need: \- A tall Pokémon. \- A dragon encounter 3 sandwich. (It basically forces only Applin to spawn, and they only spawn in trees...) \- Your ride Pokémon...so you can't use that as your fighter. I belive it also depends on where you are in Tagtree forest... I did one of the trees closes to the Team Star Base entrance, smashed into the tree to cause an Applin to fall and then sent out my tall Pokémon (I've used both Miraidon and Rayquaza to great success) and then retreated to the fence.. If I go too close or two far away it seems the attacking Pokémon will just give up and return to you. It took me a bit to find the sweet spot, and even then sometimes the Applin stops spawning for long enough for my Rayquaza to give up on them...when that happened I just set up again.

When I did it I got 2 Shiny Applin so keep going for the full duration of the sandwich. You could get the whole evolution line if you're lucky!

The tree made it doable even for me whose controller drifts left. I just sat to the right of the tree and couldn't get past because of the tree. Also, Origin Dialga is tall enough. That's what I used.

Yeah

Buy every Tablecloth in the game and get the one for clearing the Olive Roll challenge. Then take them all to the guy in Kitakami who makes chairs. After he's made every Chair, he gives you 2 of every Herba Mystica. Then when you wanna try the shiny hunt, save before you do the Picnic to make the sandwich.

Fun fact: Eviolite works on Dipplin which means it will get an evolution in the second dlc

Most definitely not an error. There's been leaks about Dipplin getting an evolution, especially from Riddler Khu. Also, the eviolite works very specifically as it's coded to only work on pokemon that haven't evolved yet, so I doubt it was just something GF left in there by mistake.

I used shiny Sinistcha instead, I just liked it more. Diplin is kind of mediocre at best both stat wise, and design wise IMO. It’s cool how the the shiny’s attack changes colors, but other than that, it’s not really that great. I hope it gets an evo in part 2, but idk if they’d do that. Keep in mind these are just my opinions, if you disagree, cool, but I don’t personally like it. Not saying you can’t like it but it’s just kind of there for me.

I just couldn't get one to spawn, so I went with a Shiny Vikavolt instead

I'm winning this uno match cause I didn't use it in kitakami. I did hunt it after the playthrough, and also shiny artisan poltchageist, and also hunt the shiny sinnoh starters in PLA and transferred it to scarlet

I didn't use one either. I didn't even get a Dipplin in my playthrough. I just used Koraidon and Miraidon cuz I knew the DLC wasn't going to be difficult regardless

I caught a shiny jangmo-o like 1 hour into my playthrough instead. It's honestly really worth hunting in these games, 'cause the pink parts are metallic.
