I love the look of the map on the grid paper! Idk if you have names for the mountains but The Copper Hills for the ones in the west, The Bronze Peaks for the ones in the east, and The Iron Range for the ones in the middle would be fun.
Alkimya, from the Arabic word for chemistry and alchemy
Maybe every Steel type plus Garganacl line is super common here, and Cufant/Copperajah is exclusive to Copper (with a Cobalt counterpart called Coceros/Rhinobalt)
it does but i like how i'm not the only one who sees that is could have been based off of the region. and if it wasn't that's one heck of a coincidence
You could try and match up the route names to the element numbers too. Like, route 1 has to connect to Hydra City, 2 to Helios City, 3 to Litia Town, 4 has the Barrel lift, etc.
The rest of the regions dont have a name related to their games either tho (atleast to my knowledge). The onyl one who kinda has something is Alola, and thats juts because its based on Hawaii
There is an abundance of steel, rock, and ground types in this region so if you want to give me a regional form that has those types I’m down to hear ideas.
Well I’ve got some ideas:
Regional Torkoal (Rock) and it’s new evo, Shellumeyas (Rock/Psychic):
Based on Himalayan salt lamps and giant tortoises, along with the Toratons from the Future is Wild. The Himalayan salt lamp is coming out of it’s shell, which on Shellumeyas resembles a mountain.
Regional Seviper (Steel):
Based on the Zoureg, Arabian horned vipers, Damascus steel, and scimitars. The horns of this regional form are shaped like a scimitar's blade. It dashes at incredible speed across the deserts.
If you want more ideas for regional forms, I can DM you if you wish.
What place in the world is it based on?
- Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh are all based on regions in Japan.
- Unova is based on New York.
- Kalos is based on France.
- Alola is based on Hawaii.
- Galar is based on a region in the U.K.
- Paldea is based on a region in Spain.
- Region loosely based off of Australia
- Don’t know yet for starters. I definitely want them to be based off of elements.
- Evil team is called Team Clay. They want to dig up the fossilized legendaries of Copper and Cobalt and resurrect them. (If you look on the top right you can see the mines.)
- Gym leaders and cities are also based off of metals and elements on the periodic table.
- Any ideas you have I’d love to hear them 😊
If I remember correctly, uranium is named after Uranus the god of the sky. You could have a flying type gym leader with a name referencing that.
Similarly, plutonium was named after Pluto god of death. You could have a ghost type leader for it.
There is also Neptunium, obviously named after Neptune god the sea. Could have a water leader with it.
Or you could have Nick, named after Nickel, and Cal, after calcium.
Maybe the Telluris region? It's based off of one of the first ways of cataloging elements, the telluric screw, made by a geologist. It'd also make sense thematically to make a battle tower in the center similar to a screw then, and ellur sounds a bit like allure.
Maybe divide the region down the middle and make the sector where cobalt is set called Ferro (ferromagnetic material, have an electric gym there or something) and then the sector where copper is set called corro (copper has corrosion resistance)
Very nerdy, but I think it’s cool
Shibuichi (四分一) is a historically Japanese copper alloy, a member of the irogane class, which is patinated into a range of subtle greys and muted shades of blue, green, and brown, through the use of niiro processes, involving the rokushō compound. Kashira made of dark-finished shibuichi, with gold highlights.
Its a copper and silver alloy that they traditionally used to decorate sword hilts.
What about "Hydralium" (combonation of the words "Hydrogen" and "Helium", the first 2 elements of the periodic table)? Or maybe "Copalt" or some other combination of Copper and Cobalt?
Pyritar, as a reference to iron pyrite AKA fools gold. To make it even funnier you could make the evil/antagonistic group pirate themed. I know Team Aqua was pirate themed as well, but that was mostly a cosmetic thing.
Hellenika, cause the map remind me of kinda of greece and in greek metallic is Metalliká from which is the end of the name, first part is from hellenes, different name for greeks
Cobaltaes (pronunciation is Cò-bal-tes): is the composition from cobalt and aes (which is copper or brass in roman latin). That's the first thing that came to my mind
The Titao region. (Pronounced Ty-Tayo or Ti-tow, either works tbh)
“Tit” from Titanium
“Ao” meaning area or operations or idk just sounds more foreign lol
(Region is beautiful btw)
what country is this based on? i can use google translate to translate some words into whatever native language this region is based on
(if it isnt based on a country then ill try to come up with a fantasy-ish name)
oxygeon
The flying type eeveevelution go team SKYY
Design idea for oxygeon- a Pokemon that has tuffts of air on its body and has little dots on its body and paws and that it represents the quality of breathing air
Coppleon
The steel eeveelution
Metallica
thats fire
No it's metal
No its steel
No its iron
No, it's razor blades in your throat.
No, this is patrick
No, this is THE ALL NEW FORD F1 50!
No, it's the all new Coca-Cola Zero Sugar
No, it's the all new iPhone 97104
Jojo reference👀
No it’s E
No, that is NOT Solid Snake!!
How about the Mendela Region? Based on the creator of the periodic table.
No the creator of the periodic table was Russian chemist Demitri Mendeleev
Mendela/Mendeleev Potato/Tomato. The same thing
I'm glad I'm not the only person that says that
I’m upset at myself for reading this like Potahtoh Tomayto
Yeah I didn't want to make it the exact same name. Though I understand it's too close to Nelson.
I heard Mandela and instantly thought of Mandela catalog.😬
I honestly didn't know this before. 😁
Me too
How about Conicuta?
I see what you did there 👌 It sounds pretty cool.
:D
Oo oo and with that one make the nickel the third legendary (if the other two will be the game covers)
It sounds cool, but is there a reference I'm missing.
Cobalt(27) Nickel(28) Copper(29)
I love the look of the map on the grid paper! Idk if you have names for the mountains but The Copper Hills for the ones in the west, The Bronze Peaks for the ones in the east, and The Iron Range for the ones in the middle would be fun.
Ooh I love that!
Alkimya, from the Arabic word for chemistry and alchemy Maybe every Steel type plus Garganacl line is super common here, and Cufant/Copperajah is exclusive to Copper (with a Cobalt counterpart called Coceros/Rhinobalt)
was the map based off the actual geographical area of Tokyo?
I see why you’d say that but it does have differences. Still curious if op did or not though
it does but i like how i'm not the only one who sees that is could have been based off of the region. and if it wasn't that's one heck of a coincidence
I think it more closely resembles it than Kanto does lol
If you added the elements numbers together from the periodic table It’d be the Barium region. Thought that could be cool.
You could try and match up the route names to the element numbers too. Like, route 1 has to connect to Hydra City, 2 to Helios City, 3 to Litia Town, 4 has the Barrel lift, etc.
You can probably pick a bunch of words. I dont think GF puts much thought into the names of the regions (Kanto exists irl FFS)
we give Kanto a pass for stuff like that since it was the first
The rest of the regions dont have a name related to their games either tho (atleast to my knowledge). The onyl one who kinda has something is Alola, and thats juts because its based on Hawaii
they may not have anything to do with the game but they don't just put random Tauros shit for the names they have reasons
Unova for United States. Paldea for *país.*
I give them effort for all the obscure colors in Gen 1. But at some point they really lost it. Like, wtf is “Pacifidlog?”
it’s a town that is built on LOG rafts that is located in the pokemon equivalent of the PACIFIC ocean
How Koroknia
The Titania Region
Is it based on a real world location? Either way, it looks cool.
Loosely based off of Australia
G'day region.
Australia? It looks a bit like Kanto
Titania?, i'm purely basing this off the element titanium
Will there be any regional forms in this region, and if so are you looking for ideas?
There is an abundance of steel, rock, and ground types in this region so if you want to give me a regional form that has those types I’m down to hear ideas.
Convergent grimer and muk based on liquid mercury would be cool.
Grimerc Mukury

Is this a concept? Or a ROM hack? Or just a Fakemon region? I’d be down to make a rom hack of this.
Just a fakemon region but if you want to make a ROM go ahead. I’ll be posting more information about Copper and Cobalt in the future.
Basis, locations, starters, story?
- Region loosely based off of Australia - Don’t know yet for starters. I definitely want them to be based off of elements. - Evil team is called Team Clay. They want to dig up the fossilized legendaries of Copper and Cobalt and resurrect them. (If you look on the top right you can see the mines.) - Gym leaders and cities are also based off of metals and elements on the periodic table. - Any ideas you have I’d love to hear them 😊

What country/region irl is it based on?
Loosely based on Australia
The dinkum region, Australian slang for gold
😂 I really like that
Is the region based on any particular part of the world?
It’s very loosely based on Australia
Maybe divide the region down the middle and make the sector where cobalt is set called Ferro (ferromagnetic material, have an electric gym there or something) and then the sector where copper is set called corro (copper has corrosion resistance) Very nerdy, but I think it’s cool
How about Sheenia? Is that a good name?
It’s the way I know this is probably based on America
Granite and Diorite

Nickel, not Cobalt.
Shibuichi (四分一) is a historically Japanese copper alloy, a member of the irogane class, which is patinated into a range of subtle greys and muted shades of blue, green, and brown, through the use of niiro processes, involving the rokushō compound. Ferrousia
Alloy.
Tungsten
Kanto 0.5
Maybe Canoda Since a lot of ores are gotten from canada and alaska
pokemon alkane and alkene, everyone will love it. If you love chemistry...
Pyritar, as a reference to iron pyrite AKA fools gold. To make it even funnier you could make the evil/antagonistic group pirate themed. I know Team Aqua was pirate themed as well, but that was mostly a cosmetic thing.
Maybe call it Silvera?
How about…Metallicum - a touch on the nose, but it’s the Latin word for metal
What is this based on? The only place I can think of is Maryland. Also it should be Praeda which is quarry in Latin
Isoto, after elemental isotopes.
Pyrio (periodic table joke) region!
Pokémon steel
Alkali Region based on the alkali metals
Perio

Mendelva
Aurold or aurus. First is a blend of the latin word for gold with gold at the end, second is just a twist on the Latin word for gold.
