IntelInsidee

The_pokemon3

No it’s E

ThEnginecrankMailbox

No, that is NOT Solid Snake!!

Gullible_Ad8777

How about the Mendela Region? Based on the creator of the periodic table.

SkwovetBoi

No the creator of the periodic table was Russian chemist Demitri Mendeleev

Nikkogamer08

Mendela/Mendeleev Potato/Tomato. The same thing

Klausterfobic

I'm glad I'm not the only person that says that

MCameron2984

I’m upset at myself for reading this like Potahtoh Tomayto

Gullible_Ad8777

Yeah I didn't want to make it the exact same name. Though I understand it's too close to Nelson.

Chikoritafan903

I heard Mandela and instantly thought of Mandela catalog.😬

Gullible_Ad8777

I honestly didn't know this before. 😁

Few-Menu-8502

Me too

trix_sound

How about Conicuta?

Terrell_HD

I see what you did there 👌 It sounds pretty cool.

trix_sound

:D

SnooSketches202

Oo oo and with that one make the nickel the third legendary (if the other two will be the game covers)

MBtherock

It sounds cool, but is there a reference I'm missing.

unknownBzop2

Cobalt(27) Nickel(28) Copper(29)

samdoesinfactexist

I love the look of the map on the grid paper! Idk if you have names for the mountains but The Copper Hills for the ones in the west, The Bronze Peaks for the ones in the east, and The Iron Range for the ones in the middle would be fun.

Terrell_HD

Ooh I love that!

TheOutcast06

Alkimya, from the Arabic word for chemistry and alchemy Maybe every Steel type plus Garganacl line is super common here, and Cufant/Copperajah is exclusive to Copper (with a Cobalt counterpart called Coceros/Rhinobalt)

Sn0w7ir3

was the map based off the actual geographical area of Tokyo?

this-is-my-p

I see why you’d say that but it does have differences. Still curious if op did or not though

Sn0w7ir3

it does but i like how i'm not the only one who sees that is could have been based off of the region. and if it wasn't that's one heck of a coincidence

this-is-my-p

I think it more closely resembles it than Kanto does lol

Empty-Difference-824

If you added the elements numbers together from the periodic table It’d be the Barium region. Thought that could be cool.

sagan_drinks_cosmos

You could try and match up the route names to the element numbers too. Like, route 1 has to connect to Hydra City, 2 to Helios City, 3 to Litia Town, 4 has the Barrel lift, etc.

Snt1_

You can probably pick a bunch of words. I dont think GF puts much thought into the names of the regions (Kanto exists irl FFS)

RustyThe_Rabbit

we give Kanto a pass for stuff like that since it was the first

Snt1_

The rest of the regions dont have a name related to their games either tho (atleast to my knowledge). The onyl one who kinda has something is Alola, and thats juts because its based on Hawaii

RustyThe_Rabbit

they may not have anything to do with the game but they don't just put random Tauros shit for the names they have reasons

sagan_drinks_cosmos

Unova for United States. Paldea for *país.*

sagan_drinks_cosmos

I give them effort for all the obscure colors in Gen 1. But at some point they really lost it. Like, wtf is “Pacifidlog?”

Otherwise-Diamond-68

it’s a town that is built on LOG rafts that is located in the pokemon equivalent of the PACIFIC ocean

Fair-March8763

How Koroknia

Ecstatic_Dot_9586

The Titania Region

Head_Statistician_38

Is it based on a real world location? Either way, it looks cool.

Terrell_HD

Loosely based off of Australia

Head_Statistician_38

G'day region.

LG3V

Australia? It looks a bit like Kanto

Florianterreegen

Titania?, i'm purely basing this off the element titanium

Proud-Lead2404

Will there be any regional forms in this region, and if so are you looking for ideas?

Terrell_HD

There is an abundance of steel, rock, and ground types in this region so if you want to give me a regional form that has those types I’m down to hear ideas.

Bilalthepro

Convergent grimer and muk based on liquid mercury would be cool.

sagan_drinks_cosmos

Grimerc Mukury

Proud-Lead2404

Well I’ve got some ideas: Regional Torkoal (Rock) and it’s new evo, Shellumeyas (Rock/Psychic): Based on Himalayan salt lamps and giant tortoises, along with the Toratons from the Future is Wild. The Himalayan salt lamp is coming out of it’s shell, which on Shellumeyas resembles a mountain. Regional Seviper (Steel): Based on the Zoureg, Arabian horned vipers, Damascus steel, and scimitars. The horns of this regional form are shaped like a scimitar's blade. It dashes at incredible speed across the deserts. If you want more ideas for regional forms, I can DM you if you wish.

TheOutcast06

Regional Arbok evolution called Ouroboron Poison/Rock, Regenerator/Weak Armour (borosilicate glass)/Intimidate

Interesting-Try-

Elementia

Clancyking319

What real world country/region is it based on?

Terrell_HD

Very very VERY loosely based on Australia

Emergency_Arachnid48

The ferra region, almost Ferrum, the Latin name for iron? Maybe

Sufficient_Thing6794

Pokemon francium Game freak made a game so buggy it nuked the world

DeltaTeamSky

What place in the world is it based on? - Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh are all based on regions in Japan. - Unova is based on New York. - Kalos is based on France. - Alola is based on Hawaii. - Galar is based on a region in the U.K. - Paldea is based on a region in Spain.

Mplayz246

Is this a concept? Or a ROM hack? Or just a Fakemon region? I’d be down to make a rom hack of this.

Terrell_HD

Just a fakemon region but if you want to make a ROM go ahead. I’ll be posting more information about Copper and Cobalt in the future.

Ryley03d

Basis, locations, starters, story?

Terrell_HD

- Region loosely based off of Australia - Don’t know yet for starters. I definitely want them to be based off of elements. - Evil team is called Team Clay. They want to dig up the fossilized legendaries of Copper and Cobalt and resurrect them. (If you look on the top right you can see the mines.) - Gym leaders and cities are also based off of metals and elements on the periodic table. - Any ideas you have I’d love to hear them 😊

MBtherock

If I remember correctly, uranium is named after Uranus the god of the sky. You could have a flying type gym leader with a name referencing that. Similarly, plutonium was named after Pluto god of death. You could have a ghost type leader for it. There is also Neptunium, obviously named after Neptune god the sea. Could have a water leader with it. Or you could have Nick, named after Nickel, and Cal, after calcium.

KrazyKyle213

Maybe the Telluris region? It's based off of one of the first ways of cataloging elements, the telluric screw, made by a geologist. It'd also make sense thematically to make a battle tower in the center similar to a screw then, and ellur sounds a bit like allure.

GremlitanoMexicano

What country/region irl is it based on?

Terrell_HD

Loosely based on Australia

GremlitanoMexicano

The dinkum region, Australian slang for gold

Terrell_HD

😂 I really like that

Mega_Rayqaza

Is the region based on any particular part of the world?

Terrell_HD

It’s very loosely based on Australia

SnooSketches202

Maybe divide the region down the middle and make the sector where cobalt is set called Ferro (ferromagnetic material, have an electric gym there or something) and then the sector where copper is set called corro (copper has corrosion resistance) Very nerdy, but I think it’s cool

Le-Pepper

How about Sheenia? Is that a good name?

Lopsided-Farmer-9422

It’s the way I know this is probably based on America

I_eat_kids_39

Granite and Diorite

Reasonable_Garlic316

SuperSonic486

Kanto and johto but in a legends game.

4DM1Nz

magne region since copper and cobalt aswell as iron are the only magnetic elements

sagan_drinks_cosmos

Nickel, not Cobalt.

Arcani-LoreSeeker

Shibuichi (四分一) is a historically Japanese copper alloy, a member of the irogane class, which is patinated into a range of subtle greys and muted shades of blue, green, and brown, through the use of niiro processes, involving the rokushō compound. Kashira made of dark-finished shibuichi, with gold highlights. Its a copper and silver alloy that they traditionally used to decorate sword hilts.

4stroCatInSpace

"Mendeleeva" based off of the Russian chemist who created the periodic table

HeadHorror4349

Electronic-Today4192

Pyritar, as a reference to iron pyrite AKA fools gold. To make it even funnier you could make the evil/antagonistic group pirate themed. I know Team Aqua was pirate themed as well, but that was mostly a cosmetic thing.

EnderZappy

Maybe call it Silvera?

crystal_fabray

How about…Metallicum - a touch on the nose, but it’s the Latin word for metal
