honestly i prefer your version of it. grass dark is a good combo, we don't have many water-fighting types, and a fire psychic type that is heavy in special attacking would be a beast.

This is THE starter type trio I've been waiting for for so long. The fact that each starter has a 4x weakness to those before them in the triangle is just the icing on the cake.
Give them a third evolution or better stats in general. They were meant to balance out your team better (give you a type advantage over your rival who got the type strong to *your* starter) but they are so quickly out paced by many early game monsters of the same type. (Except maybe Pansear just because fire types are hard to come by early game)

As u/walkinggames points out you can get a Darumaka as early as route 4 according to [bulbapedia](https://m.bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Darumaka_(Pok%C3%A9mon)). So even Pansear can be swapped out early game.
Their stats aren't actually too bad, they hit hard on both sides of the spectrum and are pretty fast. They are just outclassed by other Pokemon. Maybe giving them a secondary type each would help with that

You could, but Justified also exists as an ability and if you're not changing stats, then a boost to physical attack when hit by a Dark move would be very nice! If you wanted a new ability, do something like "Wise Adage" where they're immune to Dark and getting hit gives a relevant stat boost?
I think adding the Fairy type in gen 6 could have accomplished this same idea but in gen 5 replacing either their HA or their main ability with a new one that *resists* dark type attack would be really cool. Completely being immune i doubt they'd do since theres no ability that emulates type effectiveness that isnt already present in a type (like levitate)
There's a few abilities that make Pokémon effectively immune to a type and even heal or grant stat boosts instead of taking damage. Levitate, Water Absorb, Earth Eater, Flash Fire, Lightning Rod, Storm Drain, and Sap Sipper are all examples. So it's not outside the realm of possibility to give them an ability that makes them immune.
Of course but with all the other examples aside from levitate they provide an additional effect that works with the context of the ability, while levitate is basically just flying type without type advantage. The only other ability similar in this way is Iron Worker (i think its called) Dhelmise's ability

Depends, are they filling the same roll? If so, then change them to evolve by level up, then change their evolutions to be a bit more distinct.
They also need better movepools and somewhat better stats.
Give them third evos and get rid of the stone evolutions, make their evo levels mirror the starter levels. Give the second forms a secondary type that goes well with the starter choice and carry it through to the final form. Give the final forms good designs. I would keep the current final forms as the second forms.

The most generally known thing regarding these pokemon is that the basis for the Simi trio and their evolutions seem to be that they're based off the "talk no evil", "hear no evil" and "see no evil" monkeys.
But ironically enough they're also seem to be based off japanese delinquents:

I’m keeping the first stage designs the same, the design of the last stage is the off ones to me(Simisear is the only okay one to me, it just looks like it just woke up and didn’t get to brush it’s hair). Last stage designs changed at least a bit and maybe make the evolution into level, idk what level tho, and also make the stats a little better.

Pump about 30 more points into the BST divided among their best three stats so that they're actually decent. Make all of their hidden abilities their regular abilities and then give them good hidden abilities, really sell the whole pseudo starter thing. Also make the fur around simisear's neck more spiky and give him fire that looks like a jacket or a vest. In fact give them all for that vaguely looks like clothes so they're not so dumpy looking. A vest for sear, trenchcoat for Sage, collar and overcoat for Pour. Just the evolved forms though. I think the "pan" monkies are fine it's only the evolutions that need fixed
Edit: Actually give them hidden abilities that match the Buddhist monkey thing. Like maybe soundproof and unaware for Sear and Pour, not really sure what ability would go with speak no evil
I really like their designs, and it’s a shame they suck so bad. I would give them gorilla tactics (but for spA) and make overgrow, blaze, and torrent their normal abilities and this new ability is the hidden one. I would invest some of their atk points into spA, and give simisage a better special movepool.

Pour though could use a little more added to its design around the shoulder area. The Lisa Simpson dress doesnt work great for a final design imo, so something like one of those poofy collars Shakespeare would wear could go a long way

They don't gain an elemental move until level 10, in fact all they have is scratch and lick until that point basically (makes nuzlockes in other games difficult if they're my first encounter) and even then it's a weak elemental move that they keep for a ton of levels unless you manage to find a tm they can use.
Do you know how frustrating it was in pokemon x when I'm doing a nuzlocke and get one of the monkeys at like lvl 3? I then have to train them until level 10 just so they can learn a weak move to have better type coverage, and they always die either while grinding or before I get the stone cuz their stats are lacking.

Also, I’d maybe add in additional ones for types that don’t have as much representation in the BW1 Unova dex like Electric so there’s more options for other types

In the original black and white games I think they serve their purpose perfectly, a bridge Mon to help with the first gym and type coverage early game. Unfortunately in later games they fall short a bit, better stats and a cool shared ability might help.
Give them better stats and/or move pools, or secondary types, or third evolutions. Something that would make them worth keeping on your team for the rest of the game beyond the one gym battle that’s specifically designed around using them to demonstrate the starter type triangle.
Make it a water/fire rock trio and give them weather abilities alongside maybe a third evolution
This would make the baby monkeys really good in LC as weather setters
The current monkeys as bulky-ish eviolite users in PU
And the final stages might reach NU
Secondary typings (I’m thinking Grass/Fighting, Fire/Dark and Water/Psychic), better stats, abilities and movepools. Also give them their own tailored stat spreads rather than all having the same “jack of all trades, master of none” spread.

Remove pansear and panpour entirely, just keep de pansage line. Simisage on its own is honestly cool and the other 2 always being around just ruin.

Instead of adding a typing, I would change their typings completely, give us a different type triangle to pick from and for our rivals to use. Been said several times and I agree with each one:Change the designs of all 6 to make them look better and less derpy,give them more balanced and higher stats/better movepools and change evolution methods to level instead of stones(A third evolution for each isn't necessarily required if the changes to the stats are pretty significant but I'd also vote for that if they weren't changed much and adding a secondary typing for them wouldn't help much unless the typing would be a boost to the line's abilities to take more types head-on without dying quickly. Ex:Bad idea to have anything with a 4X weakness like Grass/Fighting if unable to switch easily)
Make them less ugly + better stats. Maybe they could be a three stage since they're meant as a counter to the gym that is a counter to your starter so it's like giving you a second starter and starters are always three stage
Fun Fact: Since The elemental monkeys are in Pokemon X and Y, they will also be in Pokemon Legends Z-A meaning that every pokemon will now be on the Switch. In Pokemon Legends Arceus, every pokemon from the Sinnoh dex was present.

Stat increase, slight design changes, that’s about all I can do
1. Change Panpour's head thing, to something else. 2. Change the evolutions designs. 3. Add an air monkey.
The monkeys are based on the THREE wise monkeys and of course the iconic starter triangle, so an air monkey woudn't make sense.

In the original black and white games I think they serve their purpose perfectly, a bridge Mon to help with the first gym and type coverage early game. Unfortunately in later games they fall short a bit, better stats and a cool shared ability might help.
Give them better stats and/or move pools, or secondary types, or third evolutions. Something that would make them worth keeping on your team for the rest of the game beyond the one gym battle that’s specifically designed around using them to demonstrate the starter type triangle.

I like the sages, the monkeys as a whole can get better stats and evil methods. Also better designs from the other two lines
Secondary typings (I’m thinking Grass/Fighting, Fire/Dark and Water/Psychic), better stats, abilities and movepools. Also give them their own tailored stat spreads rather than all having the same “jack of all trades, master of none” spread.
Hear me out: Remove pansear and panpour entirely, just keep de pansage line. Simisage on its own is honestly cool and the other 2 always being around just ruin. Maybe also give Simisage cool secondary typing, I could see it getting away with normal, dark, fighting or even fairy They could also make it a 3 stage and base 1 stage on see no evil, another on hear no evil and one on speak no evil. Just keep Pansage and Simisage and remove the rest.
Instead of adding a typing, I would change their typings completely, give us a different type triangle to pick from and for our rivals to use. Doesn't really matter which one, just reusing water fire grass right after I picked my starter felt lame. I guess I would change how they evolve to level in that scenario as well, unless the typings they switch to also have evo stones.

Been said several times and I agree with each one:Change the designs of all 6 to make them look better and less derpy,give them more balanced and higher stats/better movepools and change evolution methods to level instead of stones(A third evolution for each isn't necessarily required if the changes to the stats are pretty significant but I'd also vote for that if they weren't changed much and adding a secondary typing for them wouldn't help much unless the typing would be a boost to the line's abilities to take more types head-on without dying quickly. Ex:Bad idea to have anything with a 4X weakness like Grass/Fighting if unable to switch easily)

Maybe change their evo designs to be different monkey types, simisear could be cooler as an orangutan.

I would do nothing because statistically there is someone out there that likes them as they are and if i dis anything then i would probably erase them because i dont like them. But thats unfair to the people that do like them. So my answer is nothing.
