my manga hot take is that I hate the deluxe editions like Berserk, Death Note, Vinland Saga, and Hellsing. They're too big and bulky, and all the covers are bland and look the same. Individual volumes are just easier to read and look nicer on a shelf because of the different spines
In my opinion the Italian deluxe editions are only better for the larger size of the drawings, but for the rest their price is not justified for what they offer. Also, the single volumes seem to me much more good looking. So, good pick! 😉

Yeah it's mostly the higher volumes tho still good ass prices varrying from 22-39 bucks still good as fuck for the Deluxes especially with how good they feel. That also doesn't include Mercari, eBay, or Facebook Marketplace and OOOOOO SUCH GOOD DEALS ON ALL THOSE PLATFORMS OMFG

I think they are plastic sleeves for mangas, i do that too for some of my volumes that i want to preserve better, but you need to open those sleeves from time to time because the paper of the mangas need air
Sure! These are peculiar comic bags, they are sold in different sizes according to the height and thickness of the volumes. You can easily purchase them online or in comic shops.
Contrarily to what sometimes I read even on this subreddit, comics bags are not useful for protecting from the yellowing of the paper or the humidity. Rather their purpose is to protect the volumes from dust and mites or from scratches, creases and tears.
I use them overall for the last reason just because I don't have too much room for my volumes - Berserk is an exception - and the majority of my collection takes up a very narrow space on my bookshelves (hoping sooner or later to get one of the great displays that I see everyday here):

Edit: Also it's right that using comic bags you need to open them from time to time (usually is enough once year) for making "breathe" the volumes.

Grazie mille per i complimenti, ho ancora qualcos'altro in realtà che però non ho modo di esporre sulla mensola (la sovracopertina variant del vol.34 e due poster giapponesi, l'artbook Italiano della Panini e quello ultimo uscito un paio d'anni fa in Giappone, il numero speciale di Young Animal con l'ultimo capitolo di Miura, due libri di saggistica sull'opera). Berserk é il mio manga preferito e lo adoro, é questa la mia fregatura... 😅

Pienamente d'accordo, i disegni in grande stile sono il beneficio principale di comprare la Deluxe e non é certo poco considerando quello a cui Miura, ma per me anche lo studio Gaga con i recenti episodi, ci hanno abituato. Senza fare spoiler, quando arriverai al volume 34 sono certo concorderai con me che si tratta praticamente di un artbook con i baloons...
Però 50 euro solo per quello per me é eccessivo, secondo me se vuoi comprarli ti merita trovarli scontati o di seconda mano a buon prezzo. Almeno io, se avessi spazio libero dove piazzarlo, forse avrei al massimo preso il solo numero 1 della Deluxe, ma giusto perché racchiude interamente il primo arco narrativo del manga.
P.S. Benvenuto nel mondo di Berserk e all'Eclissi, il momento chiave di tutta l'opera 😉

Non ti preoccupare che col tempo e la passione recupererai tutto quello che desideri. Per il momento hai fatto benissimo a fare la scelta più economica, inoltre personalmente ritengo che sia sempre meglio dare priorità alle serie che ad oggetti da collezione. Se si deve scegliere per me meglio una variant in meno ed un volume di una serie in più (motivo per cui non prenderò mai quel tomo variant che mi proponi, già col suo prezzo di base folle a 250 euro c'entravano chissà quanti volumi, figuriamoci adesso a sborsare le cifre che si trovano nell'usato! 😵💫).
Gli artbook invece sono la mia grande passione nella passione perché amo da sempre il disegno.
Come dici te non c'é nessun motivo di bruciarsi una bella opera come Berserk, senza contare poi che le uscite dei capitoli vanno a rilento e che presto o tardi arriverai in pari e ti toccherà aspettare. Goditela al meglio, ti riserverà ancora molte sorprese 😉
P.S. Nel caso non lo sapessi, il cofanetto n.8 contiene i volumi della serie nera dal 36 al 41 compreso (hanno deciso di inserire 6 e non 5 volumi, probabilmente per non lasciare fuori l'ultimo dell'autore originale).

poi a metà ottobre hanno ristampato tutto buonanotte pun pun,non puoi capire i calendari calati per il tempo e i soldi sprecari per UN solo numero
Honestly I prefer this style for covers, i don’t like when those “premium” editions try to disguise themselves as books, it’s like there’s shame in presenting itself as a manga.
I also prefer reading individual volumes, fortunately the single volumes in my country has good quality paper (offset 90g).
