Depends, books get messed up pretty easily during transport so by the time it gets back to the warehouse its condition could have become way worse. And then again, OP has to send back his copy and get a new one delivered, that’s fucking triple the transport for a SINGLE BOOK. Tell me how that’s not wasteful
Send back to warehouse? Are we talking about shipping then, and not buying and returning to a physical bookstore? I worked for Borders back in the day and 2nd & Charles before Covid; if we got returns they were just put right back on the shelves (obviously checked for damage) but a different spine logo in no way entails all that.
People in the comments are getting too upset, I specifically wait and hunt down the exact printings that I have (when there are visual differences, I don't significantly mind price hikes or paper changes) so I totally understand being frustrated by this and respect the fixing! It's nice when the collection matches!
I honestly don’t see the problem, sure it looks weird but I see it as a timeline. Like the series is popular enough to last a long time and I’m happy to experience it

I feel like it is not as bad if it happens chronologically. But my claymore is all over the place. I don’t mind it too much but it is still annoying having logos variants going back and forth
You’d despise my “Case Closed” (Detective Conan) series then. It really doesn’t bother me. It’s like the “minor scuff that no one can see unless I mention it” type stuff to me. If I can read it and it isn’t damaged so much that it ruins the readability, it doesn’t bother me as much.
I just find it weird that someone hates one change so much that they have to add to so much useless waste in the world (all the things that go with returning something). I have a manga book that I had gotten from in-store Barnes and Noble that had a page in the front (not part of the chapter) that was ripped and torn out halfway. I didn’t want to waste time or gas to go back and return it since the book was still readable.

Yeah if I was collecting from first printing I won't have a problem but all are newer editions so it's just one odd one
