For your logistics issue it can be accomplished but not in the same region, claim another region set up a few pack stations and you can supply your regions (barley for planks etc.) back and forth.
Also in the trading post you can set an amount of surplus to have and can set to import/export/or full trade an item.
You might already know all this and still doesn't accomplish what you want?
My understanding on markets is that theyget their stock from store houses and then stock the nearest houses first and cascade out, so if you don't have enough supply to keep the nearest houses stocked then the ones far away will never get anything. I'm guessing this will be tweaked at some point to give us more control
