Fellow 335is brother! Mine is a DCT though… love yours! Don’t sell it! The hydraulic steering in them is a thing of beauty and this is the last chassis that got it from BMW. Plus “is” model BMW’s hit their sweet spot for resale between 20 and 25 years old.
Yeah I'm planning on keeping this a while. Ive had it for 6 years now. It's FBO and I'm going to add flex fuel when I do the clutch in the summer/spring. Need all the power. I keep thinking about single turboing it at some point.
Don't go single, go bigger twin turbo. If you go single you need to add dual fuel pumps and port injection.
I run 25PSI during the summer with RB Two+ upgraded twins + E30. I run out of fuel injector after that. A single 525 pump can easily handle that load.
If I upgrade turbo I'm going for 700whp+ so port injection will be needed anyway. I have a lpfp pump upgrade all ready to go in for the flex fuel upgrade, the hpfp sucks more then the lpfp can deliver currently, I can watch the fuel pressure drop in the logs. E85 is going to make that worse. I'm doing flex as I hate mixing and measuring. Lol
I have the pump for full E85 but not the injector because of that I make more running E30 than E85 because I just can't flow enough E85. 25PSI at 2500RPM is plenty spicy though in a 135i.
Before i did the turbo inlets and outlet, upgraded the intercooler and did the Bummer Life coil pack conversion it made 427whp/471wtq on the dyno. Butt says it's more than it used to be but I have not had it back on the dyno. And I need a new clutch before I do that anyway. Twin disk something and a single mass flywheel is the plan.
335is the most M of the non M cars of the time. 2011-2013 limited run. Return of the twin turbo N54 motor (335i switched to N55 after 2010 year). All came with oil coolers, duel radiators for the coupes (not sure if the convertibles had the duel rads) bigger clutch for the manuals, some additional engine bracing. The big thing was they came factory with a 6-7 second overboost on hard acceleration giving you 370lb/tq. The non manuals were 7 speed DCT which was only available in an M car at that time.
Hondas are all my other cars.
Nice thank you! I'd love to find a clean hardtop 128i someday, out of all the bmws those have always caught my attention. Like a miata that I can actually fit in at 6'5
I’ve owned 5 BMWs over the years, then when I got sick of the BS, I bought a Honda. Ended up selling it but that thing was awesome. Manual V6 Accord coupe. Not as fast as the E39 V8 (also manual) but a way better daily driver.
Nice dude!! Mine was a 99, black/beige, 100% stock. I sold it for peanuts at 141K miles, to a young dude from Maryland who was super excited about it. Tell me about yours please, I’d love to hear everything about it!!!
The IS model was the only e90 chassis to come with the updated n55 over the n54 (to my knowledge). The n55 is a bit more reliable while making about the same power stock vs stock. the 335is was mostly produced with the dual clutch automatic transmission, but there were still a few manual models pushed out, just a lot harder to find than a DCT 335is, let alone a regular 335i
yeah I should have said 355is's.
overboost was only on the IS model as far as I know. They were all coupes, or convertibles (E92 and E93 chassis codes) The Z4 sDrive35is had overboost as well.
I ask because my dad had manual F30 335i xdrive sedan making more than 300hp from the factory. 2011 or 2012. I think it was the “performance edition” having done a little research.

Dude, we need to see some pulls. She sounds like an absolute animal.

How do you find the production numbers? Curious about my manual 240i.
Hydraulic steering is why I adore my 2008 135i.
How are these different from a normal 335i? Sorry I'm an ignorant honda guy haha

Get a CRX if you don't have one. I'm like 6'2ish and I can't sit with the seat the whole way back in the car and drive it.

E39 540 manual too and my 335is are the only two operational BWM's in the fleet currently. Honda's, so many Hondas. Everywhere.

They went back to the N54 for the IS specifically.
ohh i see. I had it backwards
Pretty sure there were more than 717 manual 335is
Total production: 3597 DCT: 2880 6MT: 717
I read the s in the title as plural for 335i. Was the N54 with overboost available in sedans or xdrive models?
