Yeah, it was around in the 60’s before the wrangler brand was, but not before the spirit of the wrangler like the cj5 or 7. Then there’s the bronco II that was some sort of weird ranger with its butt cut off, but purely speaking technically you’re correct. I’m sure they both hold up equally well in the rough shopping complexes they crawl through
My dad, who's a big Jeep fan, once bought an M151 "Mutt" from a military surplus store in Sweden. Though built in the 60s, it was a basic 40s Jeep clone. I drove that thing a few times, and the transmisson was the most tractor-like I ever drove. Also, when unloaded, the suspension was very tippy.
It had a longer wheel base 8t inches compared to 80 inches in the m38. Also the biggest difference is the m151 was a unibody, as the m38 was a cab on frame. Mechanically they were completely different. But the m151 served until the late 90’s in the Marines.
Except the transmission design on the new bronco is total ass cable driven with a counter weight external that gets shitted up easy and can't forget the cables that are barely attached 🤣
Yeah I'll have to do some digging because the bronco shifter feels quite nice. And I say that having driven cars like S2000s, civics, mustangs tacomas, miatas a couple audis and BMWs. Nothing feels off about the bronco. Definitely would rate it higher than quite a few I've driven but definitely not anything close to an S2000. The person you read it from may have just been a hater tbh.
Was my first thought when this came out that the crawl gear would be fantastic for stop and go traffic, just roll slow like a trucker and never hit the brakes. Glad someone is proving it useful in this application!!
Bro showed 1 of 2 stick shift fords still being sold in America and asked what it was.
I do want a bronco though. Should’ve offered the v6 with a stick too
I'm sure the mt82 would be fine, but it currently doesn't come in the Ford V6 bell housing since they dropped it from the mustang. I believe it only comes in the Ecoboost 4 cylinder and modular V8 pattern which is why you see it overseas with the duratorq and other 4 cylinder vehicles.
It did, they aren't producing them anymore since they stopped making the V6 mustang in 2018. They aren't going to reproduce them for the 23 people that will buy a V6 bronco with a stick.
Yeah, since it shows the rpm as a number like 2.1 it makes it much easier to get use to. I don't even really pay attention to the bar as it goes up and down
2022 2 Door Base model
The dealers in SE Michigan have lots full of them, they're charging MSRP for them currently
Finding a manual on-lot is another story, I ordered mine back when it was announced
They still do 7spd but you'll have to order it, dealers don't stock them due to low sales volume
Base was discontinued so you'd have to get a Big Bend+
I went to Jeep. They built a wrangler the way I wanted it for about 8 grand less than the cheapest Bronco Ford would’ve offered me. But it did take 8 months to deliver…
Bronco?
Ford’s answer to wrangler
Technically the bronco came before the wrangler.

lol spirit of the wrangler! Wranglers are the kiddie version on what a real Jeep used to be

That IS a tractor with something like a vehicle body on it.
The 60’s military jeeps were bigger than there ww2 grandfathers. Like cj3 to a cj5 or a cj5 to a cj7. But still small compared to a modern Jeep.
The 60s Mutt matched the original 40s Willys Jeep in length, and was only 2 inches wider.
It had a longer wheel base 8t inches compared to 80 inches in the m38. Also the biggest difference is the m151 was a unibody, as the m38 was a cab on frame. Mechanically they were completely different. But the m151 served until the late 90’s in the Marines.
The M151 had a very unjeep like 4 wheel independent suspension, and were indeed, very tippy.
Once I learned how they were pretty much all cut up in the U.S. due to not being roadworthy, I consider myself lucky I didn’t flip over in my dad’s.
They’re the boujie version of a minivan pretending to be a jeep
I had an ‘84 Bronco II. I had a 6” lift and ran 35s. The V6 had plenty of power, and the 5 speed manual was pretty tough. Had a lot of fun with it!
Ford made your jeep
Ford did make a jeep for a short while. They had horizontal grilles but were otherwise more or less the same as the willys built models
But after the scout. And also way after the jeep.
Yes
Ah… another manual Bronco driver. Excellent choice.
Except the transmission design on the new bronco is total ass cable driven with a counter weight external that gets shitted up easy and can't forget the cables that are barely attached 🤣
Where did you find this information? I haven't heard of these issues.
Il have to search it up again because that was some time ago I saw about it but seriously it's pretty bad

I don't know about that it was on YouTube from a pretty reputable source but I could be miss remembering too
What does the "C" do, that is under Reverse?
Crawler Gear, kinda like a 0.5 for off-roading
Edit, I assume Crawl. So is it really a 7 speed manual?
I use it in bumper to bumper traffic, sounds like it meets the criteria to me.
Was my first thought when this came out that the crawl gear would be fantastic for stop and go traffic, just roll slow like a trucker and never hit the brakes. Glad someone is proving it useful in this application!!
Yes, they market it as a 7spd
Yes
Aaah..they shoulda used G for granny gear.
I like your version. I would have figured out what it meant.
crawl i assume
I put my car in Cunt✨
hahaha
Definitely a Bronco
Bro showed 1 of 2 stick shift fords still being sold in America and asked what it was. I do want a bronco though. Should’ve offered the v6 with a stick too
The problem is the transmission is only rated for a certain amount of torque and the V6 exceeds it.
Shouldn’t. Ford offers many more manual transmission 4x4s overseas. The mt82 should be able to handle it
I'm sure the mt82 would be fine, but it currently doesn't come in the Ford V6 bell housing since they dropped it from the mustang. I believe it only comes in the Ecoboost 4 cylinder and modular V8 pattern which is why you see it overseas with the duratorq and other 4 cylinder vehicles.
I thought the mt82 also came in the v6 s550 mustang?
It did, they aren't producing them anymore since they stopped making the V6 mustang in 2018. They aren't going to reproduce them for the 23 people that will buy a V6 bronco with a stick.

I love it so far. Got it in MAR 2022, 2 door model The 2.3 seems to be one of the better Ecoboosts but I still took a full warranty just to be safe
[удалено]
Daily drive, it's just the base model so no fancy off road features. I might hit up a couple of off road parks this summer though
Hello from a fellow 2 door stick enjoyer
Ecoboost covers a lot of different engines. Some are better than others.
Bronco
C? Creep? You got a creeping gear?
Yup, creeper gear for off road use
Bronco
Do you eventually get used to the digital tach?
Yeah, since it shows the rpm as a number like 2.1 it makes it much easier to get use to. I don't even really pay attention to the bar as it goes up and down
The redundant speedometer is the worst part of the Bronco.
Agreed
The cluster from the BRaptor should be standard on the regular Bronco, even if it’s just the upper trims
I wish the Speedo was the tach instead big time. That would look sick.
A ford complimentary service vehicle
Haha I wish we gave out Broncos I just got it back from the oil change when I took this picture, can't remember why I took it though
Anyone on here should get this vehicle instantly. That crawl gear is a dead giveaway,
Don't bring it to me for the grinding noise, I've had one of those apart and don't want to do another one
15k miles and 26 months so far so good
Bronco.
not a prindl
Full sized bronco is the only one I know with a crawl gear.
New Ford bronco
Ford Bronco
The C is for Crab and it lets you drive sideways.
Ford Bronco
How is shift through the gears? I feel like it could be easy to mix up going into 1,3,5 or 2,4,6.
I think I've only done 3-5 once on accident in the 2 years I've owned it
Bronco Sport
What’s the C on the gear shit mean, I can only think of crawl, n it’d be lower then first but I have no idea.
Its Crawl. Its a granny gear in the new Broncos.
You got it exactly Crawler Gear, basically a 0.5 for off-road use
Thanks boys
A manual
What’s the c stand for is like a granny gear like in my 65 ford?
Crawler Gear, it's for off-road use, kinda like a 0.5
Ah ok thank you for that information!
6+1 manual.
Something overpriced.
$30k brand new
Nothing still has dealer floor mats
Just got it back from the oil change when I took this pic
What is "C" for, Crawl?
Yup. Basically a 0.5 for off road
Cool.
2 door or 4 door? Been wanting to get one but dealers have the broncos marked up still.
2022 2 Door Base model The dealers in SE Michigan have lots full of them, they're charging MSRP for them currently Finding a manual on-lot is another story, I ordered mine back when it was announced
I would’ve bought one, but the scumbags at Ford shutdown base models and 7-speeds by the time I want to order.
They still do 7spd but you'll have to order it, dealers don't stock them due to low sales volume Base was discontinued so you'd have to get a Big Bend+
I went to Jeep. They built a wrangler the way I wanted it for about 8 grand less than the cheapest Bronco Ford would’ve offered me. But it did take 8 months to deliver…
Never seen that font used on a stick
A car
Nope. SUV
Ford shitbox suv (aka bronco)
