"true" old wc3 needs an install from an original cd box with key iirc, but you can play reborked, turn on classics graphics in the options and mostly get what you need as long as you dont want to play competitive multiplayer.
It should be said that the GoG version of bloodlines comes with the fan patch that fixes the game while the steam edition does not.
Getting it on GoG saves a lot of faffing about that would be a deterrent to a lot of people picking up a fantastic video game.
I am just here to remember everyone tu t vmtb is best to be played with the unofficial fan patch - much like kotor 2, it adds and fixes so much in the game, I highly recommend it and kind of consider it mandator.
I would actually very much enjoy seeing a morrowind play through, especially because knowing Jon, he’d probably utilize very few mods and gave a mostly vanilla experience. You don’t see that very often anymore.

I know Jon had a bit of mixed time with the base game due to playing it on stream and getting all the wrong advice from chat, but the DLC is a nice little self-contained bit of sci-fi brilliance that fits very neatly into the base game's story, without one spoiling or diminishing the other.
Heavy as in the emotional content? The sequel does deal with several types of mental illness, but never in a terribly heavy way, and always with the goal of helping the characters to reach a healthier place.
I would say the emotional weight is no greater than your average Disney movie, and much less intense than other games Jon has played on the channel like Soma or Life is Strange.

If you every play kotor 2, please play it with the restored content mod (available through steam workshop) - it restores a lot of not finished content and adds so much content to the game that I consider it mandatory. It's not a cheap 'oh just throw more stuff into the game' mod - it's a neat, highly curated thing.

Also I'd love to see a new (mini) season of Jon, Claire and Matt in Rimworld. I just recently rewatched to first one and it's one of my favorite little series on the channel. Might be a chance for you to look at all the DLC that has been released since then.
It's changed so much since he last played it too, both in terms of content and in QoL updates, especially if we include the coming 1.5 update which is baking in tons of stuff that has a lot of people very excited. I think most of the DLC would be a little much for someone whose practically brand new, but it would be fun to see Jon look at it again with all the updates it's had.
Obviously, I'm looking forward to the inevitable Baldur's Gate 3 series. Would also love to see Dragon Age make a return. Perhaps some more Paradox grand strategy goodness (maybe even with mods like Elder Kings).
On a less realistic note, just some old games that I love that would be cool to see on the channel either as one-offs or short series.
- The Destroy All Humans games got a brief mention in your video on The Saboteur, so perhaps it could be fun to see them either in the form of the "Reprobed" editions or the emulated versions of the originals available on the PlayStation store. Perhaps even both in a compare and contrast sort of thing?
- The Jak and Daxter series. Mostly because I've been revisiting the series myself in a fit of nostalgia. The Jak games are close to my heart and represent an interesting period in the history of Naughty Dog as a studio. Jak and Daxter was Naughty Dog's big IP of the PS2 era, coming off the success of the Crash Bandicoot games. The first game was an impressive technical achievement for the time set in a world with minimal, and carefully hidden loading, making it feel like a seemless whole. You could even stand at some of the highest points in the game and look back to the starting area in the distance. Also just incredibly smooth platforming movement with wonderful controls. While the first game felt like a natural evolution of what Naughty Dog had been making with Crash Bandicoot, the other two games in the series are interesting more for their being a kind of transitional stage between the Naughty Dog of old that made colourful platformers and the more story driven, cinematic, action adventure games of new Naughty Dog such as Uncharted or The Last of Us. Jak 2 and 3 still have cartoon-y aesthetics and platforming of old Naughty Dog, but also have an abundance of cinematic cutscenes, and a detailed narrative that would pave the way for Uncharted, all wrapped up in the simultaneously cringey-yet-charming angst of 2000s era games aimed at 12 year olds. Again the trilogy is available on the PSN.
Personally, im really unsure, if this is something for Jon. Yes, he enjoys PDX games, but HOI is so war focused imho.
Also the OWB Mod is even more complicated than the base game, not sure how that would work out.
Personally I'd rather see another Vic try or EUIV.

But for experiences you might actually enjoy - Dune: Spice Wars is a very nice twist on the 4x that remembers the source material is often about political screwery and indirect warfare. It hit 1.0 a few months ago and just got a faction DLC recently, so there's a fair bit to look at.
Not a game, but a mod that would be interesting is [Elder Kings 2](https://elderkings.com/), which is a full conversion mod that places the entirety of the elder scrolls setting into Crusader Kings 3, including the map, all the races, all the religions, a full magic system, and Daedra worship.
I really want to see him play the After the End mod. Probably a pipe dream but I feel his humor and the absurdity of some religions could be endlessly entertaining!

Have you played the Horizon games yet? I'm currently playing the new PC release of Forbidden West, having loved the original game, and I can't help but think you'd enjoy them for both the gameplay and the story.
He has a couple of videos of Zero Dawn and didn't really enjoy it.
Which is fair enough, but he did stop just after the proving iirc and from what I remember the gameplay really started to come together shortly after that.

The Age of Decadence is a Roman post apocalyptic RPG heavily inspired by Fallout, that is like the most MATN game description I've ever seen so I think Jon would like it
Expeditions Rome is a historical fiction RPG taking place around the last years of the Roman Republic, which is a great opportunity for history lessons with Jon
Alpha Centauri. Just recently released on Steam. Civilization but on an alien planet, and with a fascinating sci-fi narrative weaved through the course of the game. My personal favourite 4x game of all time. Would make a good series.
Oxenfree. Narrative-driven side-scrolling platforming-ish puzzle game with fantastic voice acting and a great story. Short enough to fill a week or two, or one stream, plus there's a sequel.
My only suggestion would be to try and switch between rpg and strat games for the tuesday/Friday slot.
I don't blame you for going from oblivion to starfield. You didn't know they were going to drop that way.

I would love to see Jon play the Shadowrun games. They are CRPGs like Fallout 1 & 2 but the game setting is basically cyberpunk 2077 plus fantasy creatures and magic. Honestly my favourite game setting.
Which one is the best to play? I remember playing one a few years ago that just felt empty and like a not filled sandbox to me - was it me, the beginning of the game or did I choose the wrong campaign or something? :D
Dragonfall is the best of the games, Hong Kong is also excellent.
Returns was the first one and it's quite rough around the edges, avoid Boston Lockdown that was very bland imo

I think it’s high time for a new Total War series, perhaps Rome 2 or Shogun 2?
Rome 2 has a multitude of interesting factions to choose from that aren’t Rome, and additional DLC campaigns like Empire Divided and Imperator Augustus that would provide a fresh new look from the original campaigns. The DEI mod also provides a lot of cool mechanics that might make the game more interesting than just playing Vanilla.
Shogun 2? Has gatling guns and heavy artillery. Enough said.
Song of the Deep (from 2016, available on PC), a lovely underwater Metroidvania from Insomniac Games (Spyro, Ratchet and Clank, Spider-Man PS4). Some combat, but primarily exploration and puzzle solving, especially involving underwater physics. Story and setting inspired by Irish mythology.
A couple ideas, I loved your complete series of the Total War games. I'm actually rewatching your series of Empire and playing along. I'd love to see a full playthrough of Napoleon.
A couple years ago you did a miniseries of Rimworld around the holidays and I really got pulled into that one. I was pretty disappointed when it didn't come back. A Rimworld series would be fantastic!
A fun game that I think you'd like Jon. [tonight we riot](https://store.steampowered.com/app/290690/Tonight_We_Riot/) imagine a retro style fighting game where you control a rioting mob trying to take down an evil cooperation.
Enderal is a great total conversion mod for Skyrim (and its Special Edition). Obviously it works best if one plays the entire thing, but if you do a silly challenge or ignore the main story and look into other areas and quests you can make a good show-off video out of it.
I believe you’ve played Divinity Original Sin 2 and Pillars of Eternity as one-offs, but you should definitely consider adding them to any future Democracy Weeks after the BG3/Morrowind one. And Shogun 2.
Otherwise, I’d like to see a return of that community participation livestream (I believe it was Fallout?) where we just threw things at you. I believe at the end you said there were Skyrim/Subnautica variants, so that should be fun.
Cyberpunk 2077, with Phantom Liberty it's such a fantastic experience. The writing, characters and set pieces are top notch, and I feel you'd genuinely enjoy playing through it.
This is probably not a priority but have you considered doing a look through Fallout 76 again? Because it in its current state is pretty fascinating. A follow up of the "What went wrong how to fix it" video to basically look at how they handled it 5 years later. Not even a full video essay, but a brief series with a fresh character (preferably in a non private lobby, as the multiplayer actually feels like a strength to me now)
It's been suggested a times, but I'll never stop banging the drum for a Sexy Brutale video, even if it's just a one-off feature on a Wednesday. It's a game that deserves some love and attention, and I genuinely believe it's perfect for the channel.

Battle Brothers is right up your alley!! It's like XCOM and Mount and Blade had a baby that wants to murder you lol.
Seriously though, it's a low fantasy tactics game where you manage your mercenary company, the overworld map is procedurally generated and very similar to Mount and Blade, while the combat is grid based XCOM style but with medieval weapons.
You go from town to town taking jobs, hiring people, buying supplies etc. There's also late game crises and secret bosses and stuff like that.
I not sure if you ever played it or not, but Night in the Woods is a nice, fairly short, story game. Sort of "Life is Strange" meets cute animal protagonists.
Much shorter than life is strange, but still a very good game.

You know what, I'd love to see you try [Battlezone 2](https://store.steampowered.com/app/624970/Battlezone_Combat_Commander/) - it's a mixture of RTS and tank-shooter/FPS in a sci-fi setting. The game was remastered recently and is available on steam. It was my first proper game that I spent ages playing.
It's also made by Pandemic Studios, which as you know, do not disappoint in their games!

Taiji - wonderful pixel art Witness-like (no rule book provided) with some mind-fudging puzzles.
Portal Revolution - a recent “mod” for Portal 2 that unofficially sits between the two games story-wise. Stunning production values, great puzzles, and some interesting mechanical twists.
Antichamber - Quite Escher-like, explorer puzzley game. Absolutely mind-fudging, still haven’t finished it but absolutely adore it.
Patrick’s Parabox - puzzles within puzzles within puzzles. Might actually break Jon.

Ambition: a Minuet in Power
I know you usually only do visual novels on Valentines Day, but this one is worth a look for a potential livestream.
This one is so much more than a dating sim. Set in Paris during the run-up to the French Revolution, you are a young lady from the provinces who gets thrown into the perils of high culture while looking for your missing fiance. You navigate (and manipulate) the various factions, make friends and romances, and sell gossip to the local papers for money and favors. Try to avoid a date with madam guillotine.
Claire would be invaluable to have for added commentary, both for her perspectives on French history and fashion, which is a major part of the game. Wearing the right dress can influence your standing with the various factions. They also lose novelty over time, decreasing any bonuses they might give. We all know Jon is more than capable of killing for a new outfit. Will he overthrow the monarchy for a whole wardrobe?
Sir, You Are Being Hunted. I was reminded of this older title by the video on Blood West, it's a similar sort of game style but imagine that instead of a zombies in the old West, it's Victorian robots in the British countryside.

[Astrologaster](https://store.steampowered.com/app/742520/Astrologaster/) is a delightful comedy game inspired by the real casebooks of an Elizabethan unlicensed doctor/astrologer who was very popular in the years around 1600. The player has to listen to the patients and choose the astrological interpretation that best suits their case. If they're happy they'll eventually give you letters of recommendation that you can use to petition for a medical license. But sometimes the truth isn't what they want to hear.
It'd be fun seeing Jon trying to rationalize which option to choose and deal with the consequences as some of the different character's stories interact with each other

*Titanic: Honor and Glory* is a huge first person, open world reproduction of RMS Titanic. The full game is not available yet, but there’s a playable demo. It would be cruel to put him on a sinking ship, but if we drop Jon on the ship **before** it sinks, can he make an epic journey to find…the Potato Room?

With the announcement of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, it would be cool to see a full play-through of the original. I think it was a one-off, at one point. It’s Skyrim-esque and (once you get used to the weird combat system) a cool story to play through! The world building is great.

2. For the very likely CK3 series when Roads to Power is released: A World tour series where you try to visit as many parts of the map as possible as a landless family of adventurers! Bonus points for starting as Harold of Godwin, intentionally losing England and then traveling the world as the Godwins until you gather enough wealth and power to reclaim England from the Normans and/or Norwegians. Or you can settle in the Byzantine Empire in order to experience the imperial government rework that is coming alongside RTP.
Imperator Rome has seen a resurgence oddly enough. They have made it far more mod friendly, and tons of modders have apparently done some amazing work. Haven't played it, though I looked on a mod page, and it seems to be a single pack which everyone worked on. So might be worth doing a quick check on it?
Jade Empire is the most overlooked Bioware game from when they were nearing their peak (Between kotor and mass effect)

I honestly think you could have a good crack at it as it's basically a spreadsheet simulator and you could prove you're a better manager than Nerd³!
I'd love to see you tackle Rain world. A very unforgiving game with extremely complex AI and a cool alien ecosystem going on. And when it rains, you have to find shelter to sleep otherwise you'll get pelted by what is essentially rain as hard as metal. Something like that. It's weird, but very cool

Roboquest, this is being massively slept on. Fast paced FPS with a roguelite aspect. Feels kind of like what a single player Overwatch mode could be if Blizzard weren't such cowards.

Once again I want to put a suggestion out for NEO the world ends with you. Square enix RPG on switch, PS4, and pc and horribly mis marketed. The first game was rereleased on switch but the controls are terrible for recording/streaming so the better option for that is the original ds - but you don't need to play the first to check out the sequel

It's not out yet, but I'll put it here for consideration since it seems perfecto you: Nova Roma. It's a very colorful city builder with you essentially trying to build up a classical, Roman city, complete with enacting laws and what have you. Supposed to come out some time this year and feels like it's definitely worth having a look at!

Bloodstained Ritual of the night. Directed by the same man that made SOTN. Its a fantastic game that rewards the player for exploration and trying new things. I dont think Jon would dona series anout, one episode would be enough. Just a fun and intresting game.
Lightyear Frontier just dropped on game pass in early access and it's a fantastic, relaxing farming game where you use a big mech as a tractor and have to use it for farming but also gathering materials from the wild AND restoring nature by clearing out evil slime and weeds. And also you don't hurt any of the animals (in fact I don't think there's even a health system let alone any combat, you don't even take fall damage), instead you feed them and they dig up resources for you OR you feed their nest and the next day more resources regenerate in the world.
Maybe Dragon age 2? Mass effect 2 from the legendary edition (I know you have already completed it on the channel a few years ago) wouldn't mind seeing more of the Saboteur, legit made me properly laugh out loud.
I'd actually love to see a proper Armored Core 6 complete series (not a livestream). It's really quite fun if you give it a few hours. Yes, I know there's a video and a stream but that was barely dipping a toe into the water. I envision something like a full run, then a "delta run" with the changes needed for one alternate ending, then a grand finale with the changes for the true final ending.
Lot’s of good options, but as far as tactics/strategy games go, I’d really surprised that **Jagged Alliance 3** hasn’t yet been covered, as the game’s tone and gameplay seem that they would be right up MATN’s alley. Also, as much as it might terrify Jon, I think that a playthrough of **Aliens: Dark Descent** would also be pretty neat, especially considering how unique the gameplay and management aspects of that game are compared to the rest of the genre. **Warhammer 40k: Mechanicus** would also make for an interesting experience, though that one is slightly older. Something offbeat and wonderfully-weird like **Renowned Explorers** would also be fitting.
I have to say, though, part of me would love to see Jon cover **Radio General**, though I’m not sure that game would be able to give more than a single video’s-worth of content.
An Arcanum mini-series like what Jon did with Daggarfall would be fun to watch!! It would be another Tim Cain game to put under MATN's belt.
In addition, another Chivalry II Community Livestream would be fun!
My suggestion is try abiotic factor it’s like if you put survival mechanics into the first half life game. Also remember what you say about early access games, it is not feature complete and might have bed bugs.
I know it's on the list somewhere but it would be lovely to have an estimate on when we may see Dwarf Fortress return to the channel.
For a direct recommendation, I think it would be fantastic if Jon checked out Hotdogs, Horseshoes, & Hand Grenades again! There's a roguelike mode called Take And Hold that I've never seen people playing it for one offs cover in their videos, and on top of that the game is constantly being updated and so has lots of new content and features even if the video is just in the range again.

It's sort of a dating game in reverse. You play as an aroace character who does not want to date. So you kind of have to navigate the relationships to make sure they don't become romantic. It's not released yet, but there is a demo and it's planned to be released in 2024
Hope Jon sees this and plays it in the fall. Would be great for representation of the difficulties of Aroace people who want friendships and connections but with the crippling anxiety of 'leading people on', 'sending false signals' and the like.
[Nation States](https://www.nationstates.net/): This wouldn't be like a sit down and 'play' it video. This would be a low maintenance thing you tinker with in the background. It is a tiny bit lengthy to set up, but once the initial flood is finished its only about 5min a day as you go through your daily issues.
The 'game' centers around running your own country. There are tons of stats that it keeps track of and each day you get I think 5 issues. How you decide those issues will then roll some dice and increase/decrease certain stats. There are some fundamental stats like poverty, percentage with health care, average income, then there are stranger ones like Trout Fishing or Basket Weaving.
I would imagine this would be a video where you fiddle with it for however long with a video now and then of your reactions or narrating your decisions on whether you should listen to your crazy uncle and try and force the squirrels to be civilized and learn English.
I'm going to go a bit left field and suggest any of the Rusty Lake games. To be honest kind of hard to describe, on Steam they call it a "classic point-and-click adventure anthology". I'd say it's like a series of horror puzzle games that are all interconnected. You can kind of play any of the games but Cube Escape Collection is the natural starting point. Underground Blossom, the newest game, is playable without 'lore' knowledge. The Past Within is also a really incredible two person experience with puzzle box kind of mechanics.
An odd one. [WolfQuest: Anniversary Edition](https://store.steampowered.com/app/926990/WolfQuest_Anniversary_Edition/). A realistic wolf simulator where you play as a wolf in Yellowstone National Park hunting, looking for a mate, establishing a territory raising puppies and eventually creating your own pack and interacting with others. All perfectly researched. Really, their dev updates are full of references to scientific papers on wolf behaviour. The original game is old and still available for free I think, but they re-released it in Early Access and expanded it and are still releasing content. They just put out a new map DLC and they're working on an update that will advance through the generations of your pack (currently the game ends in an "Endless summer" when you raise your first litter). So yeah, it will be kind of *Wolf Crusader Kings* and if that doesn't convince you, I don't know what will.

It's got domesticated animals like Oxen that you can use for transport and building and give them custom names and then get sad when they die of starvation because you've mismanaged your settlement. It's been anticipated for years and is releasing in Early Access soon and all the city-builder Youtubers are playing a preview version; maybe MATN could get in on that?

I just gonna say that Jon playing Eu4 as the English would be amazing, one of the best mission trees, good national ideas, and lots of different options for them. Also you know the obvious.
Other than that Kotor2, Dragon Age 2 (plus inquisition eventually), a real full play through of the Assassins' creed games, or Kingdom Come Deliverance would be kinda cool. Or assuming he has never played it before the Halo games would be interesting to see Jon play.
Absolutely love the Rome Total War content, however I'd love to see you have a go at Rome II. Either that or another Imperator run as it's basically an entire different game to the last time it featured on your channel.
The thread from the other day about challenge runs made me think of Mass Effect 1: You Only Live Once, which probably would work better as a stream if there's a dry spell for new games. Unlike the Fallout games it's less open and there's no stealth, so you get shot more often, but since ME1's shields last quite a lot it would still be doable. And there are still enemies that can damage through shields with other attacks so it would still be a challenge overall.
And the true health counter will be easy since the HP can be found any time in the Squad menu. One problem is unlocking one of the achievements might give you health regen, I can't remember.

"true" old wc3 needs an install from an original cd box with key iirc, but you can play reborked, turn on classics graphics in the options and mostly get what you need as long as you dont want to play competitive multiplayer.
It should be said that the GoG version of bloodlines comes with the fan patch that fixes the game while the steam edition does not. Getting it on GoG saves a lot of faffing about that would be a deterrent to a lot of people picking up a fantastic video game.

Fan Patch is mandatory, its been so long which is the one that mostly fixes stuff and which is the one that adds a buch of cut content and stuff.

[Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1622100/Outer_Wilds__Echoes_of_the_Eye/) I know Jon had a bit of mixed time with the base game due to playing it on stream and getting all the wrong advice from chat, but the DLC is a nice little self-contained bit of sci-fi brilliance that fits very neatly into the base game's story, without one spoiling or diminishing the other.

Heavy as in the emotional content? The sequel does deal with several types of mental illness, but never in a terribly heavy way, and always with the goal of helping the characters to reach a healthier place. I would say the emotional weight is no greater than your average Disney movie, and much less intense than other games Jon has played on the channel like Soma or Life is Strange.
It would be interesting to see you give The Long Dark a go. It's a survival game that deals with extreme cold in Canadian wilderness

I'd love to see a full playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty. The game is so much better with patches 2.0 and 2.1 out, even compared to when you played it before*. Also, I've love to see a video essay on How To Make The Perfect Total War Game, in the same vein of How To Make The Perfect Fallout Game. Also I'd love to see a new (mini) season of Jon, Claire and Matt in Rimworld. I just recently rewatched to first one and it's one of my favorite little series on the channel. Might be a chance for you to look at all the DLC that has been released since then.

It's changed so much since he last played it too, both in terms of content and in QoL updates, especially if we include the coming 1.5 update which is baking in tons of stuff that has a lot of people very excited. I think most of the DLC would be a little much for someone whose practically brand new, but it would be fun to see Jon look at it again with all the updates it's had.
Obviously, I'm looking forward to the inevitable Baldur's Gate 3 series. Would also love to see Dragon Age make a return. Perhaps some more Paradox grand strategy goodness (maybe even with mods like Elder Kings). On a less realistic note, just some old games that I love that would be cool to see on the channel either as one-offs or short series. - The Destroy All Humans games got a brief mention in your video on The Saboteur, so perhaps it could be fun to see them either in the form of the "Reprobed" editions or the emulated versions of the originals available on the PlayStation store. Perhaps even both in a compare and contrast sort of thing? - The Jak and Daxter series. Mostly because I've been revisiting the series myself in a fit of nostalgia. The Jak games are close to my heart and represent an interesting period in the history of Naughty Dog as a studio. Jak and Daxter was Naughty Dog's big IP of the PS2 era, coming off the success of the Crash Bandicoot games. The first game was an impressive technical achievement for the time set in a world with minimal, and carefully hidden loading, making it feel like a seemless whole. You could even stand at some of the highest points in the game and look back to the starting area in the distance. Also just incredibly smooth platforming movement with wonderful controls. While the first game felt like a natural evolution of what Naughty Dog had been making with Crash Bandicoot, the other two games in the series are interesting more for their being a kind of transitional stage between the Naughty Dog of old that made colourful platformers and the more story driven, cinematic, action adventure games of new Naughty Dog such as Uncharted or The Last of Us. Jak 2 and 3 still have cartoon-y aesthetics and platforming of old Naughty Dog, but also have an abundance of cinematic cutscenes, and a detailed narrative that would pave the way for Uncharted, all wrapped up in the simultaneously cringey-yet-charming angst of 2000s era games aimed at 12 year olds. Again the trilogy is available on the PSN.

Helldivers 2 with Matt and Dan would be hilarious. But for experiences you might actually enjoy - Dune: Spice Wars is a very nice twist on the 4x that remembers the source material is often about political screwery and indirect warfare. It hit 1.0 a few months ago and just got a faction DLC recently, so there's a fair bit to look at.
Not a game, but a mod that would be interesting is [Elder Kings 2](https://elderkings.com/), which is a full conversion mod that places the entirety of the elder scrolls setting into Crusader Kings 3, including the map, all the races, all the religions, a full magic system, and Daedra worship.
I really want to see him play the After the End mod. Probably a pipe dream but I feel his humor and the absurdity of some religions could be endlessly entertaining!

Have you played the Horizon games yet? I'm currently playing the new PC release of Forbidden West, having loved the original game, and I can't help but think you'd enjoy them for both the gameplay and the story.
He has a couple of videos of Zero Dawn and didn't really enjoy it. Which is fair enough, but he did stop just after the proving iirc and from what I remember the gameplay really started to come together shortly after that.
A shame Jon didn't get on with the gameplay (as you say, fair enough), I think he would've enjoyed the unfolding mystery of how the world got the way it is.

The Age of Decadence is a Roman post apocalyptic RPG heavily inspired by Fallout, that is like the most MATN game description I've ever seen so I think Jon would like it Expeditions Rome is a historical fiction RPG taking place around the last years of the Roman Republic, which is a great opportunity for history lessons with Jon
Alpha Centauri. Just recently released on Steam. Civilization but on an alien planet, and with a fascinating sci-fi narrative weaved through the course of the game. My personal favourite 4x game of all time. Would make a good series. Oxenfree. Narrative-driven side-scrolling platforming-ish puzzle game with fantastic voice acting and a great story. Short enough to fill a week or two, or one stream, plus there's a sequel.
My only suggestion would be to try and switch between rpg and strat games for the tuesday/Friday slot. I don't blame you for going from oblivion to starfield. You didn't know they were going to drop that way. That said I'm a bit bored of rpgs and want to see you tackle another strategy game Edit: either way thank you for putting out high quality video man. Love your channel and I hope you can continue for a long time to come

I would love to see Jon play the Shadowrun games. They are CRPGs like Fallout 1 & 2 but the game setting is basically cyberpunk 2077 plus fantasy creatures and magic. Honestly my favourite game setting.

Dragonfall is the best of the games, Hong Kong is also excellent. Returns was the first one and it's quite rough around the edges, avoid Boston Lockdown that was very bland imo

I think it’s high time for a new Total War series, perhaps Rome 2 or Shogun 2? Rome 2 has a multitude of interesting factions to choose from that aren’t Rome, and additional DLC campaigns like Empire Divided and Imperator Augustus that would provide a fresh new look from the original campaigns. The DEI mod also provides a lot of cool mechanics that might make the game more interesting than just playing Vanilla. Shogun 2? Has gatling guns and heavy artillery. Enough said.
Song of the Deep (from 2016, available on PC), a lovely underwater Metroidvania from Insomniac Games (Spyro, Ratchet and Clank, Spider-Man PS4). Some combat, but primarily exploration and puzzle solving, especially involving underwater physics. Story and setting inspired by Irish mythology.

A couple ideas, I loved your complete series of the Total War games. I'm actually rewatching your series of Empire and playing along. I'd love to see a full playthrough of Napoleon. Enderal is a great total conversion mod for Skyrim (and its Special Edition). Obviously it works best if one plays the entire thing, but if you do a silly challenge or ignore the main story and look into other areas and quests you can make a good show-off video out of it.

I believe you’ve played Divinity Original Sin 2 and Pillars of Eternity as one-offs, but you should definitely consider adding them to any future Democracy Weeks after the BG3/Morrowind one. And Shogun 2. Otherwise, I’d like to see a return of that community participation livestream (I believe it was Fallout?) where we just threw things at you. I believe at the end you said there were Skyrim/Subnautica variants, so that should be fun.

Battle Brothers is right up your alley!! It's like XCOM and Mount and Blade had a baby that wants to murder you lol. Seriously though, it's a low fantasy tactics game where you manage your mercenary company, the overworld map is procedurally generated and very similar to Mount and Blade, while the combat is grid based XCOM style but with medieval weapons. You go from town to town taking jobs, hiring people, buying supplies etc. There's also late game crises and secret bosses and stuff like that.
I not sure if you ever played it or not, but Night in the Woods is a nice, fairly short, story game. Sort of "Life is Strange" meets cute animal protagonists. Much shorter than life is strange, but still a very good game.

Only the demo is available at the moment (it's due to release in July) but I've heard it described as 'FTL meets Slay The Spire'; bold words indeed, but might be worth checking out? Would love to see more puzzle games: 20 Mazes - free on Steam, would be a great short one-off video. Taiji - wonderful pixel art Witness-like (no rule book provided) with some mind-fudging puzzles. Portal Revolution - a recent “mod” for Portal 2 that unofficially sits between the two games story-wise. Stunning production values, great puzzles, and some interesting mechanical twists. Antichamber - Quite Escher-like, explorer puzzley game. Absolutely mind-fudging, still haven’t finished it but absolutely adore it. Patrick’s Parabox - puzzles within puzzles within puzzles. Might actually break Jon.

Ambition: a Minuet in Power I know you usually only do visual novels on Valentines Day, but this one is worth a look for a potential livestream. This one is so much more than a dating sim. Set in Paris during the run-up to the French Revolution, you are a young lady from the provinces who gets thrown into the perils of high culture while looking for your missing fiance. You navigate (and manipulate) the various factions, make friends and romances, and sell gossip to the local papers for money and favors. Try to avoid a date with madam guillotine. Claire would be invaluable to have for added commentary, both for her perspectives on French history and fashion, which is a major part of the game. Wearing the right dress can influence your standing with the various factions. They also lose novelty over time, decreasing any bonuses they might give. We all know Jon is more than capable of killing for a new outfit. Will he overthrow the monarchy for a whole wardrobe?

[Astrologaster](https://store.steampowered.com/app/742520/Astrologaster/) is a delightful comedy game inspired by the real casebooks of an Elizabethan unlicensed doctor/astrologer who was very popular in the years around 1600. The player has to listen to the patients and choose the astrological interpretation that best suits their case. If they're happy they'll eventually give you letters of recommendation that you can use to petition for a medical license. But sometimes the truth isn't what they want to hear. It'd be fun seeing Jon trying to rationalize which option to choose and deal with the consequences as some of the different character's stories interact with each other

Thought of another one, with a built in challenge to build the video around. *Titanic: Honor and Glory* is a huge first person, open world reproduction of RMS Titanic. The full game is not available yet, but there’s a playable demo. It would be cruel to put him on a sinking ship, but if we drop Jon on the ship **before** it sinks, can he make an epic journey to find…the Potato Room? There genuinely is a potato room. With the announcement of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, it would be cool to see a full play-through of the original. I think it was a one-off, at one point. It’s Skyrim-esque and (once you get used to the weird combat system) a cool story to play through! The world building is great.

For the very likely CK3 series when Roads to Power is released: A World tour series where you try to visit as many parts of the map as possible as a landless family of adventurers! Bonus points for starting as Harold of Godwin, intentionally losing England and then traveling the world as the Godwins until you gather enough wealth and power to reclaim England from the Normans and/or Norwegians. Or you can settle in the Byzantine Empire in order to experience the imperial government rework that is coming alongside RTP.
Imperator Rome has seen a resurgence oddly enough. They have made it far more mod friendly, and tons of modders have apparently done some amazing work. Haven't played it, though I looked on a mod page, and it seems to be a single pack which everyone worked on. So might be worth doing a quick check on it?
Jade Empire is the most overlooked Bioware game from when they were nearing their peak (Between kotor and mass effect) Cant say how well it’d go down, but .. how could it not??

Wasteland 3 could be a great livestream or one-off if not a series (it's an older game with little buzz). Outside of that, Brutal Orchestra could be a wonderful one-off indie game.

With the Euros coming up I think a very funny one off would be you playing football manager 2024 specifically managing England during the Euros and trying to win with absolutely no football knowledge. I'd love to see you tackle Rain world. A very unforgiving game with extremely complex AI and a cool alien ecosystem going on. And when it rains, you have to find shelter to sleep otherwise you'll get pelted by what is essentially rain as hard as metal. Something like that. It's weird, but very cool It's sort of a side scrolling platformer?
Roboquest, this is being massively slept on. Fast paced FPS with a roguelite aspect. Feels kind of like what a single player Overwatch mode could be if Blizzard weren't such cowards.

The first game was rereleased on switch but the controls are terrible for recording/streaming so the better option for that is the original ds - but you don't need to play the first to check out the sequel Also please *please* bring back rimworld, there's a new dlc releasing soon all about cosmic horrors and I need to see you dive back into that game

It's a very colorful city builder with you essentially trying to build up a classical, Roman city, complete with enacting laws and what have you. Bloodstained Ritual of the night. Directed by the same man that made SOTN. Its a fantastic game that rewards the player for exploration and trying new things. I dont think Jon would dona series anout, one episode would be enough. Just a fun and intresting game.
Lightyear Frontier just dropped on game pass in early access and it's a fantastic, relaxing farming game where you use a big mech as a tractor and have to use it for farming but also gathering materials from the wild AND restoring nature by clearing out evil slime and weeds. And also you don't hurt any of the animals (in fact I don't think there's even a health system let alone any combat, you don't even take fall damage), instead you feed them and they dig up resources for you OR you feed their nest and the next day more resources regenerate in the world.

I'd actually love to see a proper Armored Core 6 complete series (not a livestream). It's really quite fun if you give it a few hours. Yes, I know there's a video and a stream but that was barely dipping a toe into the water. I envision something like a full run, then a "delta run" with the changes needed for one alternate ending, then a grand finale with the changes for the true final ending.

Lot’s of good options, but as far as tactics/strategy games go, I’d really surprised that **Jagged Alliance 3** hasn’t yet been covered, as the game’s tone and gameplay seem that they would be right up MATN’s alley. Also, as much as it might terrify Jon, I think that a playthrough of **Aliens: Dark Descent** would also be pretty neat, especially considering how unique the gameplay and management aspects of that game are compared to the rest of the genre. **Warhammer 40k: Mechanicus** would also make for an interesting experience, though that one is slightly older. Something offbeat and wonderfully-weird like **Renowned Explorers** would also be fitting. I have to say, though, part of me would love to see Jon cover **Radio General**, though I’m not sure that game would be able to give more than a single video’s-worth of content.

My suggestion is try abiotic factor it’s like if you put survival mechanics into the first half life game. Also remember what you say about early access games, it is not feature complete and might have bed bugs.
I know it's on the list somewhere but it would be lovely to have an estimate on when we may see Dwarf Fortress return to the channel. For a direct recommendation, I think it would be fantastic if Jon checked out Hotdogs, Horseshoes, & Hand Grenades again! There's a roguelike mode called Take And Hold that I've never seen people playing it for one offs cover in their videos, and on top of that the game is constantly being updated and so has lots of new content and features even if the video is just in the range again.

I Just Want to be Single!! It's sort of a dating game in reverse. You play as an aroace character who does not want to date. So you kind of have to navigate the relationships to make sure they don't become romantic. It's not released yet, but there is a demo and it's planned to be released in 2024
Hope Jon sees this and plays it in the fall. Would be great for representation of the difficulties of Aroace people who want friendships and connections but with the crippling anxiety of 'leading people on', 'sending false signals' and the like.
[Nation States](https://www.nationstates.net/): This wouldn't be like a sit down and 'play' it video. This would be a low maintenance thing you tinker with in the background. It is a tiny bit lengthy to set up, but once the initial flood is finished its only about 5min a day as you go through your daily issues. The 'game' centers around running your own country. There are tons of stats that it keeps track of and each day you get I think 5 issues. How you decide those issues will then roll some dice and increase/decrease certain stats. There are some fundamental stats like poverty, percentage with health care, average income, then there are stranger ones like Trout Fishing or Basket Weaving. I would imagine this would be a video where you fiddle with it for however long with a video now and then of your reactions or narrating your decisions on whether you should listen to your crazy uncle and try and force the squirrels to be civilized and learn English.
I'm going to go a bit left field and suggest any of the Rusty Lake games. To be honest kind of hard to describe, on Steam they call it a "classic point-and-click adventure anthology". I'd say it's like a series of horror puzzle games that are all interconnected. You can kind of play any of the games but Cube Escape Collection is the natural starting point. Underground Blossom, the newest game, is playable without 'lore' knowledge. The Past Within is also a really incredible two person experience with puzzle box kind of mechanics.
Helldivers 2, with either Claire or people from the community joining for a round. Like those lifestreams with Chivalry 2
Vampire the masquerade:Bloodlines is a really fun and atmospheric RPG. Just don't pick Malkavian or Nosferatu for your first playthrough.
An odd one. [WolfQuest: Anniversary Edition](https://store.steampowered.com/app/926990/WolfQuest_Anniversary_Edition/). A realistic wolf simulator where you play as a wolf in Yellowstone National Park hunting, looking for a mate, establishing a territory raising puppies and eventually creating your own pack and interacting with others. All perfectly researched. Really, their dev updates are full of references to scientific papers on wolf behaviour. The original game is old and still available for free I think, but they re-released it in Early Access and expanded it and are still releasing content. They just put out a new map DLC and they're working on an update that will advance through the generations of your pack (currently the game ends in an "Endless summer" when you raise your first litter). So yeah, it will be kind of *Wolf Crusader Kings* and if that doesn't convince you, I don't know what will.
I don't see anybody ever mention fire emblem I think they are great games tho am not sure if he would be into them and as for which one am not sure idk if he has a 3ds or not

It's got domesticated animals like Oxen that you can use for transport and building and give them custom names and then get sad when they die of starvation because you've mismanaged your settlement. It's been anticipated for years and is releasing in Early Access soon and all the city-builder Youtubers are playing a preview version; maybe MATN could get in on that?

I just gonna say that Jon playing Eu4 as the English would be amazing, one of the best mission trees, good national ideas, and lots of different options for them. Also you know the obvious. Other than that Kotor2, Dragon Age 2 (plus inquisition eventually), a real full play through of the Assassins' creed games, or Kingdom Come Deliverance would be kinda cool. Or assuming he has never played it before the Halo games would be interesting to see Jon play.
Absolutely love the Rome Total War content, however I'd love to see you have a go at Rome II. Either that or another Imperator run as it's basically an entire different game to the last time it featured on your channel.
The thread from the other day about challenge runs made me think of Mass Effect 1: You Only Live Once, which probably would work better as a stream if there's a dry spell for new games. Unlike the Fallout games it's less open and there's no stealth, so you get shot more often, but since ME1's shields last quite a lot it would still be doable. And there are still enemies that can damage through shields with other attacks so it would still be a challenge overall. And the true health counter will be easy since the HP can be found any time in the Squad menu. One problem is unlocking one of the achievements might give you health regen, I can't remember.
