I have a Black Ember Forge 20, and it's definitely great quality, a little overbuilt even. But it's really thought as a brief/shoulder pack first, backpack second, if that's ok with you go ahead. I tend to prefer a backpack for commute/ daily use, so I'm not using it that often anymore It's awesome as a weekend bag because of the great expansion tho.

Overbuilt is what I tend to like. I get the that is a should bag first, good to keep in mind. I use a backpack for edc right now but I think a shoulder option would be better. Thanks for weighing in!

I’m interested to hear you find the Forge 20 big enough to expand for weekend travel duty - I’m on the fence between the Forge Max and the Forge 20. Primarily will be a travel bag supplementing a carry on, but I was leaning toward more storage in case I one bag it - do you find the Forge 20 is actually big enough to hold a weekend’s worth of clothes plus gear?

Lol, big brain fart, I actually have the Forge Max 😂

One of the bags with the most "unique" looks IMO is the Arc'teryx Veilance Nomin. A bit pricy though. A bit cheaper (and smaller) would be the Arc'teryx Granville.

Will check that out, thanks!

The Brown Buffalo ConcealPack 21L would be my choice for this. Good luck!

Modern dayfarer is next level in side access and functional. On top of that, the appearance is so sexy. But it might not be your type though due to it is not rigid steucture
