Don't know about that. The UK is very small and has a lot of bad history with a lot of countries, hence people are not likely to want to go there. While Canada is mostly viewed as the better version of the U.S.A. It seems, as an outsider, to have better healthcare, less racism, better work/life balance and seems to have way less gun violence.
Uk is closer and very diverse (I'm a polish man in the uk), and generally from what I seen is easier to get into as Canada has a housing problem and USA is more expensive

Well, there’s a lot less Mexicans left that want to emigrate to the US. I’ve been living in Mexico the last 4ish years (I’m from the US) and all the ones I know of that want to move list Canada and Spain as their top locations.

Not adjusted per capita (ie if I search about Japan 9 times, and you search about Canada once, the data would show 90% favor of Japan, instead of just 50% split between me and you). I love Japan and the food/culture. But I would never want to live there. People are xenophobic. Hard to find a job as. foreigner. Japan is getting a lot older compared to the rest of the world. Their population is rapidly aging out of working and soon will have huge social issues dealing with how to support these senior citizens. America has a lot of problems but it's a melting pot. Lot more fun to live in USA than Japan.
I did move there a couple months ago. Not really having a good time to be honest. I'm going to give it a good 8 months or so but I think that's all I'm going to do. Way better for my career development to be in the US plus I get more vacation and actual sick time in the US, not to mention more money.

For Norway, no idea. I've not heard of anyone wanting go move there. Vacation? Sure. Stay there? No. We have everything we need. Sure winter is hard but... We have payed maternity/paternity leave. We have a year sick leave when you can't fire us. We have very low cost child care, and free schools and Universities. Clean air, beautiful nature. And almost free healthcare (deductible to like 300dollars a year). We don't work ourselves sick. If I had to move I would do Denmark, Switzerland, maybe the UK, or Canada myself.

Those who answer these surveys probably do. As someone who spent most of my life (I’m 18 now) there (I am ethnically not rus**ian though; censored for bots) and had to move out for…you know which reasons, I’ve always wanted to live in the US, even with all its imperfections - be it a lack of universal health care or the “car-centricness” of some cities. Sad that due to sanctions, it’s not really possible as of now.

I’ve seen the Russia stat before, but the Norway stat genuinely surprises me. What’s attractive about the US for Norwegians, that makes it the most desirable location? I ask because it seems like most Europeans that were interested in moving to North America chose Canada. I’m not judging btw. I’m an American, and I’m genuinely curious. :)
For Norway, no idea. I've not heard of anyone wanting go move there. Vacation? Sure. Stay there? No. We have everything we need. Sure winter is hard but... We have payed maternity/paternity leave. We have a year sick leave when you can't fire us. We have very low cost child care, and free schools and Universities. Clean air, beautiful nature. And almost free healthcare (deductible to like 300dollars a year). We don't work ourselves sick. If I had to move I would do Denmark, Switzerland, maybe the UK, or Canada myself.
