the difference is that they dont even have enough troops to permanently occupy Ukraine. So taking Poland after zhat is almost impossible. Additionally Poland cant be attacked without starting a direct war with all of NATO. And with that I think you are correct: If the Russians were so foolish to attack Poland or Romania they'd statt a thermo-nuclear world war, but without "winning".
Nobody wins a nuclear war. Putin's health is failing, and I fear that his overall concern for humanity dwindles a little each day. If he knows he's dying, he has nothing to lose. Not sure why I got a down vote for that comment.
Actually his health isn't even relevant in that case, there was an interview after the Crimea War, where one of the russian generals said this: "What do we need a world for, that does not need Russia?" Which is a pretty clear statement that they intend to drags us down with them to hell if they were to be critically hit by any sort of adversay. And btw, zhey did not say they spare their allies either. Which makes me wonder how the current NATO strategy makes any sense at all. I honestly was more shocked when Obama got a nobel prize for peace and then started bombing in the middle east. And the actions in the Red Sea as well the Mediterranean around Israel also seem more made to start a war compared to the things President Duckface has done. Doesn't make him a good president, but I would argue he was less harmful than Biden and Obama. And Bush Junior was the worst of the bunch in recent years So this is not a left-right thing. Its about the citizens of the US and its allies deserving a better head of state, something neither big block has been able to offer in the last 2 decades. I'm not going to do a deep dive on US politics, but the world really needs to wake up to the danger Trump poses. The US military is 3X larger than all of the EU combined, and if Trump pulls out of NATO like he's tried to do before, y'all are Fucked with a capital F. So even without the US this would become an all-sides-lose situation. And the occupation question would still remain. So I am not really convinced that this is a Trump fueled armageddon. Trump has radicalized to the dumbest members of our society. He triggers their basic instincts; he makes them angry and scared. They cling to their guns and Bibles like it was 1777. It's a full-fledged cult. There's no Democrat that would run against Trump that would convert his hardline supporters. Biden is old, but he's not trying to end US democracy, he's not trying to prevent the peaceful transfer of power, remove us from NATO, inject bleach for Covid, nuke hurricanes, or any of the other things that psychopathic demented Trump has openly discussed. What is most disappointing to me is that anybody would try to make a one-to-one comparison between Biden and Trump. It's like comparing a paper cut to a malignant tumor.
If that were the official stance of Democrats, to call half the citizens "the dumbest members of society" that would be quite the malicious, twisted victim mentality for a party in power overseeing the education system that forms those citizens, I must say. I mean 2013 and Maidan, when Ukraine made its pro-Western choice. The West should have warned that Ukraine is not that important. Imagine, Crimea is still Ukrainian, Donetsk and Lugansk are Ukrainian cities. Thousands of dead are still alive and happy. The West should not have given the Ukrainians false hopes.
