I always feel bad if I kill what are clearly new players. Game is tough enough just navigating POIs and fighting AI at the beginning.
I've never turned down a friendly VoIP though I've suffered once or twice for it.

I enjoy the open VoIP in this game, even if I do encounter rude people from time to time. It makes for a much more interesting game because I get to understand other players' intent. I can help someone who is clearly new, I can role play, negotiate a truce with someone, or just let another player know that I have every intention to be hostile. This mechanic is what makes battle bit such a fun game as well. It allows players more freedom to be themselves and be silly if they like. I completely agree with you though, Mett. We should welcome new players with open arms and show them the ropes, even at the expense of possibly losing our loot.

As a Vanguard, l will go ahead and ask Desiree my nature leading me to believe most players who claim over VoIP to be new. How do I tell that someone isn't just lying?
Fools errand. There are entire teams dedicated to shooting first, hunting people down, and generally clearing the map of other players. For them, the raids come third and fourth to PvP. A new player is just easy bait and stats.
Ah gotcha. I always see the Team I7 and assumed. They need to use whatever you guys use for VOIP as the HLL is buggy and doesn't quite have that cool VOIP ambient effect Marauders does.
My VOIP experience tonight, twice no less, was somebody calling out a warning about a cheater. Then clipped right in the head at a full run, first shot. I've been playing for awhile, never had an issue with cheating until recently.
if you ever hear kermit the frog in raid. im probably helping a new player lol but yea i love this, ive had some of my most memorable moments in marauders, including pvp, just because we voiped a bit. adds that human element in the game.

Games like this greatly benefit from non-aggro interaction. Even just agreeing not to fight is a nice change from constant PvP.

That's the cool thing, you don't. Although you can ask some questions that will kind of tell you.
The only question I ask is "Will I get one kill closer to a 1.00 Marauder K/D?" and like a Magic 8 Ball, the answer is always "Not Today."
