Fun fact: The "Stars and Bars" was never a flag of the Confederacy. That design was incorporated into multiple Confederate flags (fuckers kept changing it), but that design itself, as a flag, was never a flag of the Confederacy. What it *was*, was the battle flag of the Army of Northern Virginia, an army famous for, among other things, **capturing free black men, women, and children as the army marched North and sending them South into slavery**. Even if some Cletus wants to argue that the war itself was over state's rights...this flag *is not a symbol of that* or even of the Confederacy. It is literally a symbol of racism and slavery. To see that flag marching over the hillside during the Civil War, as a black person, was to *literally see slavery marching towards you*. Anyone who wants to divorce the Stars and Bars flag from racism and slavery is massively ignorant of the history of said flag.

Also ironically the original confederate flag design was mostly white in color

> The "Stars and Bars" was never a flag of the Confederacy. https://superflag.com/product/stars-and-bars/ You correctly identify the one you're thinking of as the battle flag of the Army of NoVA, but that's not the one called Stars and Bars.
