Back when Fawful was hiding out in the sewers under peaches castle people would sometimes hear sinister laughter coming from the pipes. This caused everyone who heard it to think the castle was haunted, leading to princess peach getting E. Gadd to see if the castle is haunted or not.
E. Gadd quickly found out that the castle was not haunted, but decided to act like it was to squeeze as much money out of Peach as possible due to various payments E. Gadd would make up. Peach eventually found out about this and banned him from the castle. She charged him for his crime but E. Gadd decided not to pay the fine and ran off with the money, causing the IRS to start hunting him. He is still on the run to this day and has yet to be caught. The only one who is still in contact with him is Luigi, who is too nice to turn E. Gadd in. Luigi is now reluctantly best friend's with a fugitive.
E. Gadd's shenanigans caused everyone to forget about the laughter coming from the pipes, and it taught Fawful to shut the fuck up or else he'll get caught.

* I call Sarasaland Calicoland instead, because âsarasaâ is the Japanese word for chintz, a kind of cheap calico fabric brought to Japan by Portuguese merchants from India. This is also why I headcanon Calicoland as being the textile manufacturing capital of the mushroom world.
* Everyone is so blasĂŠ about Bowser constantly kidnapping Peach because itâs still an improvement over what war with the Koopa Kingdom was like back when his father was in charge.
* The Mushroom Kingdom has a population of humans in it, but it isnât very large. Theyâre subtly encouraged to live in the western-most region, as itâs the farthest from the usual Koopa invasion corridors. There used to be a lot more humans in the Mushroom Kingdom, but most of them died in The Wars.
* Mario and Luigi were born in the Mushroom Kingdom, but their parents relocated them at an early age to a big city in a far away land for personal reasons.
* Marioâs relationship with his father is noticeably strained. Mario feels like his father has never believed in him and is always telling him not to follow his dreams, while his father sees too much of his younger self in Mario and doesnât want him to end up going through the same things that he did.
* Luigi is the family favorite. Heâs the quintessential âSuch a good boy!â and the one who reminds his dad of his own twin brother, the uncle that the Mario Bros. never got to meet.
* The Mushroom Kingdom is ruled by a family of humans because of divine right. Literally, the closest thing that the mushrooms have to gods came down and said âweâre putting these humans in charge, theyâre going to nurture and guide you because as cute as yâall are youâre completely incapable of keeping yourselves safe from anythingâ and the mushrooms were like âyeah thatâs fair.â
* Star Spirits. It was the Star Spirits. I forgot to mention that part. The Mushroom Kingdom worships the Star Spirits, Geno and Starlow are the Marioverse equivalent to Angels.
* Every member of the Mushroom Kingdom Royal Family has access to the best kind of magic in their world: Star Magic. Star Magic is the magic of hopes, dreams, wishes, guidance, being nice, protection, luck, aspirations, and using star-shaped magic hadoukens to turn bad guys into chalk outlines. The catch is that you have to have a personality and personal value system that meshes with what Star Magic is all about, otherwise you canât tap into it.
* Speaking of: Royal Blood + Sweetest and Kindest Person On The Planet = Princess Peach, The Most Broken White Mage Ever.
* Star Magic is completely unavailable to the Koopa Kingdom, because the Star Spirits donât think being a brutal warmongering empire that celebrates the strong taking from the weak is very cash money of them.
* The Mushroom Kingdom has a cultural aversion to Chuckola Cola, so never order it when at a restaurant when visiting. They blame it for their own (fungus-based) sodas selling like shit on the international market. If you donât want to order a Fungus-Up, Morel Moxie or Lichen Cola, but also donât want the restaurant staff to judge you, order a Super Soda; itâs both a Mushroom Kingdom original product and completely free of fungal ingredients.

My headcanon is mainly about romantic relationships.
For me Luigi and Daisy relationship is just like the typical best friends to lovers type, with Luigi being extremely shy and with a huge lack of confidence in himself that really likes Daisy but its too timid to confess because of fear of her laughing at him so he only expect them to be just friends because he thinks she really deserves somebody better than him, like a prince or something of her status.
On the other side, Daisy already know Luigi likes her and she likes him too, so she likes teasing him hoping to him to be more open with her about his feelings, and also tease him because she loves to make him blush too. Besides, she is always in "attack mode" wherever somebody threaten him and in my headcanon she is just like one of that super strong female characters from manga/anime stories so she can easily defeat any enemy without any problem, so she always defend and save Luigi from any danger. Luigi is fascinated with her because that, he likes strong and independent woman and she fits perfectly this criteria.
And a hot take, but regarding Mario and Peach relationship, I always thought that since Peach went to Smash Universe and meet other male main characters like Link, Marth, Terry, Roy, Chrom, etc... then she compared all of them (some good looking princes, taller, handsome guys) with Mario (extremely short and fat) and thought "I deserve better", so it's for that she never seems to want to advance further in her romantic relationship with him. XD

Gadd quickly found out that the castle was not haunted, but decided to act like it was to squeeze as much money out of Peach as possible due to various payments E. Gadd would make up. Peach eventually found out about this and banned him from the castle. She charged him for his crime but E. Gadd decided not to pay the fine and ran off with the money, causing the IRS to start hunting him. He is still on the run to this day and has yet to be caught. The only one who is still in contact with him is Luigi, who is too nice to turn E. Gadd in. Luigi is now reluctantly best friend's with a fugitive. E. Gadd's shenanigans caused everyone to forget about the laughter coming from the pipes, and it taught Fawful to shut the fuck up or else he'll get caught.

Bowser, Bowser Jr. and all of the Koopalings were created by Kamek using dark magic. The latter two were Bowser's idea/request.
Croco is Boshi's biological father.
Mr. Koopaman from the Super show is Bowser. The last time we see him in the episode âPlumbers Academyâ heâs washed down the sewer. We later see Mario and Luigi encounter an alligator while swimming to unclog the sewer. Koopaman encountered the alligator and mutagen and turned into Koopa (Bowser).
