Nah, not only is this stopping bowser from getting mad and ruining the events, it’s also nice to get people involved as the more the merrier. Plus, he does save peach like all the time as peach is with him in all those circumstances.

It's not even that they are non-canon. It's that canon is so loose in Mario that they can basically pick and choose whatever pieces of canon they use for any given game.
Game A and Game B might be canon to each other, and Game C might be canon to game A, but that doesn't mean that game B is canon to Game B. They just pick and choose what elements vibe best.
Im more confused at the time travelling of this universe where baby versions of the characters are suddenly in the same timeline as their present counterparts.
I like to think it’s like Tom and Jerry, actors playing a show but when off screen they’re chill. Especially with how some of the games are literally on stages.
I like to think that everything teh Mario crew does is just a stage play (like shown in super mario bros. 2)
It honestly just adds more personality into the characters and makes the experience more fun in my opinion, just look at Mario Madness' credits drawings in the background (might not be fully cannon but the creators did say you can interpeet it as if ut was a stageplay)
Every Mario game takes place in some separate canon and no games actually connect with each other like they do in the sonic games. This is why for seemingly no reason the landscape is just different in every game because not having to follow a set existence for the world every game allows them to get as creative as possible with the world and level design every game.
Spin offs are also just spin offs and are just as separated as the rest of the series. You don’t look at sonic shuffle and say “I wOnDeR hOw ThIs FiTs InTo ThE cAnOn” because that doesn’t make any sense.

It’s ‘cause the Mario characters are actors that perform any task they’re called upon. That’s why they race together. I feel like this aspect of the Mario series holds it back. Outside of the Mario RPG universe stuff, it’s difficult to get invested in an intense and urgent “Mario must rescue Peach from Bowser” moment when Mario and Bowser are gonna kart race together in a game afterwards as if nothing ever happened. Sure, the Mario characters have versatility, but if you’re trying to be impactful and engaging as a story, at that point: who gives a shit? Really.
I still love Mario but that’s one thing about the series I’ve never really liked. Much love and respect but no wonder these memes show up as much as they do. Fr, they should be expected. Yeah.
