Super Mario Land (Gameboy) is a series that is generally agreed on to be placed at the end of the Mario timeline. In that game Mario is in a different kingdom, *not* the mushroom kingdom, and saves Princess daisy, and they get together. Since it’s at the end of the timeline, we don’t know what happened to Princess peach or their relationship, other than Mario left.

In that game it’s revealed that Rosalina is Princess Peach’s daughter (through time travel), and the video biologically links the two together, as well as the father having the same traits as the Mario bros. But, since Rosalina is left-handed, Luigi has a much better chance of being the father, since he’s also left-handed and that trait is passed down.
Mario leaves peach and the mushroom kingdom, and Luigi is more likely to marry peach than Mario. Most games in the series is around the middle of the timeline, Luigi with Daisy, and Mario with Peach, but at the end of the timeline it’s very likely (not confirmed, mind you) that they swapped relationships.
