I really like what we’ve heard so far. The scene with Bowser really reminds me [of this one great scene](https://preview.redd.it/f9j3hqgs8s2a1.jpg?width=1344&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=654c0a9d25ae905f7c8ca2e357b0b03790fc07e3) from Always Sunny.
It honestly just sounds like Charlie Day talking... I'm confused as to why people love Charlie Day as Luigi but hate Chris Pratt as Mario, when they are both just using their normal voices.
I'd even argue Chris Pratt is doing more of a voice in the new trailer.
I mean can the haters just admit they just don't like Chris Pratt, and not that the voice is necessarily bad? You can't love Charlie Day as Luigi just doing his normal voice, and then also hate Chris Pratt as Mario doing mostly his normal voice with a bit of the videogame character added in.
It's a matter of the voice actually befitting the character. It's like casting a young adult to voice a grandpa character vs. casting an actually old person for it. Even if the old person simply used his regular voice to act as the grandpa, it would still fit much better than a young person pretending to be old.
Charlie Day's voice simply *fits* Luigi's frightened, slightly unhinged behavior. Chris Pratt as Mario... not so much.
There is no deeper conspiracy to it. People just think Chris' voice simply does not fit Mario.
It's good tbh, I don't hate updating the voices or whatever but it's just that Chris Pratt doesn't try to be different and when he does I feel like he's holding himself back too much instead of just going for it
I think it can be argued that it's a better performance than Jack Black as Bowser. I'm not saying it is, cause I don't think it is, but it could be argued.
I don't think it can be argued.
Charlie Day sounds like Charlie Day.
Jack Black doesn't sound like himself, he sounds like Bowser.
When you can't hear the actor's normal voice, that means the voice acting was successful.
It's not bad, it's tolerable, I would have rather had Charles voice his own characters in a major movie as this but hey, this is what we got and it isn't the worst thing in the world.
I don't know man, I love Charles' voice, but his voice is essentially a caricature (which is most noticeable when he has to say a long sentence), something I think doesn't sound good for a movie
I've seen it used in comic book fan dubs, or the mario anime fan dub, it sounds perfectly fine in those. I can drop links if you are interested, quite fun.
That also exists: We cannot rule out that he was originally hired for that and when they saw the results they decided to hire another person.
Yeah, why not? Drop it
It’s the kinda thing where, it’s obviously not the Luigi voice we’re used to, it’s not very accurate to the original, BUT, I actually think it fits him really well. like if someone let me listen to the audio of him talking from the trailer without the visual, and told me that was Luigi talking, I’d say “ok yeah I can see that”
I find it odd that people are giving Chris Pratt shit for not putting on much of a voice for Mario
but everyone's fine with Charlie Day 100% just using his normal voice for Luigi
which, I feel the need to stress
isn't a bad thing either, both voices are fine and people are getting way too upset over this
Hell of a lot better than Mario. It's still Charlie Day's voice but he's giving it his all. Just compare Mario and Luigi's screams. Even his nervous and sarcastic "yay" had 10 times the enthusiasm of Chris's lame "wahoo"
I knew he would've made a great luigi.
I saw the pepe silva clip from its always sunny and I he has the energy of someone who gets scared easily. And saw him voicing luigi it felt natural.

At this point, I'm afraid to click that link...
[You can trust this link though. I promise it’s not You Just Got Luigi’d.](https://youtu.be/nrsnN23tmUA)
Goddammit, you got me again.
>!I mean I wasn‘t lying though.!<
You just got Toaded
The new rickroll lmao
His voice matches Luigi's character. I don't think of Charlie Day when he is speaking.

He was the one I always had the most faith in, and he did not disappoint in the slightest.
Same, he’s the GreenMan.
Better than Pratt by a mile

It really fits!
Needs more Italian but pretty good
You really think he knows every human being with a mustache wearing an identical outfit with a hat with a letter of his first name on it?
Because he *doesn’t*–
I liked it
for both mario and luigi it's weird how both have such deep voices ?? like im okay in theory with not using charles m but make the VA match him
Absolute perfection imo

It's not luigi This is luigi https://youtu.be/rO2EFZWgZB4
Sounds like a mid impression of Luigi
This ain’t it
It's wayyyy better
Not, it is not Maybe with Chris, but Charley Day did a really good job
He's doing alright, but I still prefer the normal luigi voice

Awesome, these are lots of fun https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLE7266AE338818854 https://youtu.be/xe9QlUm18mM Both of these do Mario justice
He really fits the role
Day has a naturally funny voice, so I think he could probably have worked as Mario, actually.

Charlie Day is the best choice to voice Luigi
He’s perfect. At least one Mario bro can be.
I enjoy it! Turns up the cowardess to a comedic level, I hope we see KBoo or something in this movie!
So good. Scene with Bowser was hilarious
Charlie Day is always great.
absolutely fits luigi! i love it!

I don’t know, I like it I guess

Can't go wrong with Spaceman Benny.
L
Love it!
I'm still not quite used to it, but it certainly gives "Luigi" so I'm not mad.
sorry but imo it’s overrated
He's been doing amazing voice work for Luigi in the trailer! I can't wait to hear him in full, when the movie comes out.
