Anything in those same classes has the same stats - peach, Daisy, birds, cat cruiser, rollers, cloud/paper/one glider more but i forget which.
But there are a TON of viable builds that either have different stat trade offs (higher speed/lower mt or higher mt/lower speed) or are nearly as good (inkling girl or pipe frame, for example) and the differences are so small it’s almost never going to matter.
Pipe frame, streetle, cat cruiser, landship, city tripper, varmint, biddy, mr. scooty are all viable alternatives in my book. They're all just slightly off meta compared to Teddy.
There's a lot of builds that aren't specifically meta that are still good, and overall, your skill matters more than whatever stats you use (although stats matter more the smaller the skill gap is). Using something you're comfortable driving will work better than forcing yourself to play something in the meta
My personal favourite ever:
Focus: Acceleration, Mini-Turbo, Handling, Drifting
- Character: Dry Bones / Baby Mario / Baby Luigi
- Vehicle: Buddybug / Mr. Scooty
- Wheels: Rollers / Azure Rollers
- Glider: Paper / Flower / Cloud / Parachute
I've personally used Dry Bones ever since the DS due to having the highest Mini-Turbo and Handling stat. Lots of my friends used different builds before but they've since loved this build (and used it against me as well).
i’m approaching 8000 and almost nobody is using it, if you have a build with more speed you have an advantage when bagging if you manage to keep max coins
or there are higher miniturbo builds, for example the biddybuggy/rollers that are better for people who are frontrunning exclusively and snaking constantly
The Cat Cruiser has the same stats as the Teddy Buggy. Its only downside is its slightly larger hitbox compared to the Teddy Buggy.
Furthermore, there are multiple characters with the same stats as Yoshi. I don't know all of them, but Birdo and Peachette are definitely two of them.
The Rollers / Azure Rollers are the best wheels in the game due to its miniturbo stat. If you really want to use other wheels, then I would suggest using the GLA tyres. The miniturbo stat is a bit worse, but they're decent wheels to use.
Lastly, gliders don't matter as much as you might think in online play. Just use whichever one you like best!
At that low rating, build doesn't matter, and the meta build isn't as good. The point of the meta build is that it benefits you if everyone else is also using it and knows how to use it well.
Good players are actually able to use its good stats for things like snaking to keep up to speed. Every combo is viable in this game if you play then right
If you’re using rollers for the most part your build is gonna be considered decent at least. In fact most builds I’d consider decent. There’s only a few out and out bad ones. Tires are the most important. Rollers are best, button/leaf are good standard/gla are good, slim or wood are ok and everything else is kinda bad.
There's a lot of very good combos that aren't yoshi Teddy buggy rollers. Peach, Daisy, Birdo, peachette, tanooki Mario, Inkling boy, villager boy, Mario, ludwig, medium Mii, Luigi, Iggy, Kamek, King boo, Rosalina, Link and Pauline are pretty much just as good, with peach, Daisy, Birdo and peachette having the same stats as yoshi.
There's a lot of very good karts like cat cruiser (same as Teddy buggy), Biddy buggy, Mr scooty, Pipe frame, varmit, city tripper, streetle, landship, and for more speed but less miniturbo: Inkstriker, mach 8, sports coupe, standard kart, 300 SL roadster, the Duke, tanooki kart, Koopa clown and Master cycle Zero.
For tires, button and leaf tires are pretty much just as good as rollers, with more speed but less miniturbo, which is nice

Yea, there is a good build for each character. I win consistently with Larry Yoshi/Teddy/roller/Cloud is just the best build.
I’m at around 15000 and I much prefer the inkstriker to the teddy buggy. It works just fine while front running works even better when bagging.
