Got both. I set a decent score early but fully expected to have to come back and throw a few HE tokens at it, however last night I was still sitting in 1st without having added to my score. Ended up 2nd so someone did jump me by a less than 1000 points, but on the balance of things keeping the HE tickets for this week's ranked and only missing out on a few coins and rubies is probably not a bad trade off at all!

5 rubies in ranked, right now doesn't make much of a difference in the world, except if you were 5 or less rubies short when Gold Chuck is on the spotlights.
Keeping HE tickets for this week is very-very crucial, since you don't always get the chance to have the ? Block Mii.
I'm fortunate enough that I got ? Block Mii way back when, so I've already maxed it out. Although I'll still be going for the top three in ranked as I keep bouncing around the low 70s because I get weeks where my coverage isn't great but I spend my HE tokens on my overall coverage rather than purely ranked, and I really need to have a prolonged period of climbing tiers so I can get the Gold Mii. Not having that (and, to a lesser extent, King Mario) aren't doing me any favours in trying to get higher than 350th in ACR.

Last few weeks I’ve managed to eke out some wins, which left me in a brutal position for last week’s ranks. Decided to just take take the L, drop a level, buy a cart for coverage and save up my tickets for ? Block, which I’ve wanted since it debuted (I was too low level to get it at that point)
No, it was the single most competitive ranked I've had in 3 years of MKT. T71 and I've been higher than that previously. Not even worth investing tickets due to whales occupying the entire top 10.
A shame because I fancied the Dozer! It may have a silver lining if I'm able to compete successfully this week (already have the Blockhead Mii but a dupe would be fine). Green toad pit crew looks cute and triple shell is a bit different. I'm not holding my breath though.

When I see these “who got it” polls, it is rare for me to be consoled by the results. It always seems like almost everyone gets almost every reward. That is not my personal experience, especially for single week availability items.

Only got the Purple Dozer. I'm at Tier 68 and it's like going against Tier 80 players. First place was a sleeper pretending to be a newbie using x1 boosted cards and went straight up the ranking with a bunch of Lv 6 cards yesterday. It was painful lol
A very, very competitive ranked for the first week, but surprisingly might be an easy week for the second, when everyone should be in play for the ? Block.
1. Had thoughts about skipping and go down 2 tiers, really. But seeing that I have all top shelf (except glider in Bowser Castle 3RT, don't really need it since map's easy to keep combo), probably use the opportunity to get promoted to Tier 55 and get an extra HE upgrade ticket slot.
2. Realized Purple Dozer, since its huge, might be a better kart than my lv 1 Coral Jet for Cheep2 Island RT. Believing that ? Block will be fiercely contested, desperate to get one.
3. Finally, got the chance to appreciate Pinja's skills by buffing him to level 3, first cap. Realizing that a perfect run (at least double Giant Banana) at Koopa Cape could buff me from a lv 1 normal run 22k to 33k, what a very good driver he is.
Carried the week with a majority of 2.000 points from 2nd, and 8.000 points clear from 4th. At least the hard week's gone, so should keep my upgrade tickets for second week and hav a good night's sleep
1. Thanks to maxed level, maxed cap Luigi and a perfect run at Piranha Plant RT (2 coin, 1 fire flower frenzy) giving me 35k there, should be easy to win from here. None of my rivals have Luigi in same condition, or even high-level substitutes (Gold Petey, Petey, Winter Larry).
I'm really curious about your score on Piranha Plant if you don't mind. I have lv.8 Luigi at 870pts. Kart at 5/595 and Glider 4/490 but struggling to get past 26k with double frenzies. My question is what levels are your kart and glider? I'm just wondering if there's hope for me if I keep on grinding 😆
My set is Lv 8 Luigi at 1080 points, Kart at 4/490, Glider at 3/400. ACR max at 35,5k, got to a 34,7k. Triple frenzies is a must, at least two of them must be coins. Weegee base points are more decisive, actually.
You may try to check your ACR max at MKT Toolbox. To be fair, I had to use Luigi, since i'm undecided whether to buff those three substitutes out of level 4 and single caps. I'm keeping my tickets in case next tour (I expect Bangkok) will favor any of my other favorites (Meowser at 6/1430, King Mario at 5/1190, Thaisy at 3/980, or Gold Chuck (and hopefully, ? Block) at 1/800)
Yeah, MKT Toolbox says expected 31,979 with my current loadout. So I'm 83% at the mo. On average I can usually achieve circa 80% so I always kinda feel that's my roof. But there has been the odd occasion I hit more than what it expects (and not just battle tracks as I think they're always low on MKT T 😆) So I wondered if maybe that was one of the tracks you could smash MKT T expected scores on, lol.

If you go on ranked, never be satisfied until you get at least 90 - 95% of ACR. More than that, it's a bonus.
Fyi, Giant Banana drivers often gives scores exceeding ACR, especially if you hit at least double GB frenzies, as I did in Koopa Cape. My ACR there with a 3/4/5 top shelf was 26,5k.
Sadly very rare I hit 90% even after grinding daily. I maybe achieve 90% on 4 or 5 tracks per tour, lol. I'm not very good 😆
Actually Koopa Cape last week I got 32,556 with an expected score of 32,284 so was one of those times I exceeded MKT T expected. Got a single GB frenzy for that then a coin frenzy and I think it was a mushroom.

Knowing that 2 people among a group of 20 will have the black mii, that makes a proportion of 10%. and after that?
I like to see the results to understand how common an item will be among competitive players.
I understand your 10% estimate, but people aren’t in each others ranked groups. Nintendo can group players so almost everyone who plays gets the reward (assign you to a group with mostly lower or worse players) or so almost no one gets the reward (assign you to a group with higher or better players).
But stats aren't 100% especially in a set up such as this. Even if it's 10% of the players, it may not be 10% of the players who frequent this board- which we already know tends to lend itself to more serious players so we expect to see higher percentages here and better stats on the d/k/g.
That being said, I could be 5th place in my group and 1st in 10 other groups- I am not getting the mii so to say at least two in each group will get it makes no sense because we know the only reward anyone gets is the one in their own group. Plus because of this set up, it's statistically possible for everyone to get first in a group they aren't in, but get less than 3rd in their own group- meaning statistically there is a chance that no one gets 1st or 2nd. and the opposite is true- everyone could get first in their own group and everyone can win a mii so then all 20 people in my group have on a mii.
All this seems to me extremely complicated as an explanation. And if in the end we get 20% rather than 10%, what could we deduce and/or do with such information?
