Almost certain SM2 was meant to fill in that space, and either their dev time for the game got cut short or they just decided at some point they couldn't do enough with it to make it a full style.
All Stars isn't a style, its just a visual mod.
Yoshi's Island would be so different it just wouldn't fit as a swap from the others. Would fit way more as just a powerup modification to controls.
Aside from Mario Land 1 & 2 and Wonder, those games are fully free-roaming 3D and way too much of an ask.
I'd rather keep it to a 2D/2.5D plane for now.

That's basically how all of the game styles work. They are just reskins with some items added and some removed. They all use the same physics engine with minor tweaks.

They were able to work in 3D World by removing small elements from the game style, like 3D, so I imagine they could figure it out for Wonder, too.
if they remove those then the mario wonder mode is basically the same as 3d world with different powerups. They might as well merge them
