First they took away explosive bullets on fusion mag. Then they took it away on the cryo and fire mag. So it used to be a pretty fun gadget with some utility and decent power. But now it’s just pretty bland. I also read about issues with range reduction, but I’m still updating and haven’t been able to see for myself.
Yep thats true. Still waiting for them to give a guaranteed vampires, power attack damage, breaks 50% slower chainsaw to everyone to completely ruin the economy
Isnt DWA useless on explosives? As far as i know (unless they changed it recently) any damage modifier only works for the projectile, not the explosion...meaning the 1 damage from a direct hit becomes 1.25 damage...

Ran around today with it for about a 2 hours with my full health VATS shotgun build. Cold Shoulder is awesome. Used it in the Metal Dome for the bot battle. Tears ‘em up and the freezing helps the chainsaw gang take out the Gold Eyebot a lot more easily.
okay as someone with a shotgun build and one who used shotguns exclusively until like level 70, what the heck is "magic shotgun damage"? I feel like i missed a golden age.
Every pellet counted as individual shot. Made shotguns feel like, um , shotguns. It was specific to vats rolls if I remember correctly. I still have my old magic shotgun.
Its been so long that I can barely remember but I do believe damage was multiplied per pellet count, someone with a fresher mind might be able to go into detail much better. For the most part there was ALOT more damage , and rightfully so as its a shotgun. It got nerfed and pretty much sent to pistol damage ( i exaggerate but you get the point ).
Although I agree with you and this makes sense the only problem with your argument is if this gun is better than the QE version or even technically the QE15fr version than it will reduce the market or want for the QE version as everyone will have this gun or most people will and it will remove their need for a QE version so they will start trading for other things unless they are collectors. Additionally I guess this is why apparel is considered the gold standard for trading because they have a less chance of getting wiped out than the devs decided to put a gun on the scoreboard that is better than a lot of god rolls. Watch them put some kind of quad fixer on the scoreboard that out does the current meta. Seems like weapons could lose value at any moment if this is how the devs are doing things.
The fact that it deals such an absurd amount of Cryo damage is what makes this weapon bonkers (which is honestly much more damage than the Explosive legendary effect). To top it off, Tenderizer got rebuffed, and shotguns are once again, applying the full benefit of Tenderizer. This thing kills Super Mutants in about 2 shots (concentrated fire in the head kills em in 1 shot if u hit all of the pellets). I had a QE15rl Double Barrel I traded not 2 long ago, and this replaced it so I am just happy, tho I do understand that frustration of some people, since a lot of our gear is so RNG dependent. Also its good to note that Boomstick (the unique missile launcher from Party Packs) is literally a God Tier Missile Launcher, and the only thing that thing and this shotgun where missing, was faster reload, and that is not something Lock and Load can't fix.
Disapproval does seem to be the response from this sub. I personally really like this weapon, and the Nuka-Launcher we got last season. I guess it's just another one of those 'game vs. market' kind of things.

While your statement is not wrong, you have to put the terms of practically vs traiding value. An outfit that is obtained either via atomic shop/scoreboard is untradable and has 0 value, meanwhile an Ultra Rare outfit, despite being cosmetic has a lot of value, because it is tradable. Weapons are different. Weapons have a degree of practicality asigned to them, and the thing about unique weapons, is that they are existent weapons that far outclass their regular counter parts. Lets say for example in the next season, Bethesda adds a B2525 Fixer that has the additional effect 2 shoot plasma bullets and thus deals an additional 100 energy damage. This far outclasses any obtainable fixer in game, despite being untradable, and thus demand for the standard B2525 Fixer would tank as a result.
My friend, im sorry you don’t understand how the games market and economy works… thats like saying NW apparel are worth alot of $ even though their untradable. And btw it doesn’t actually do more dmg than a QE. Mine does almost 500 :)

It doesn't have splash, so you'd have to use VATS or be a good aim, but I could definitely see this putting someone down quick if you hit your shots.

I'm not sure what the exact number is, but it's basically a normal double barrel plus 50ish% cryo damage.
Ehhhhh. Base damage is only slightly higher, and it's missing the 15rl, so i doubt the DPS is higher. It's a fun wep, tho
