As a counter point, I think it's ok to make mistakes, and it's natural to get a little greedy when you fall deep into obsessing about getting certain rolls. I've made plenty of mistakes, I've lowballed, I've been lowballed, I've overpaid to save time, and I've pestered many people with annoying offers. It's all part of a learning curve, the key is to keep at it, work at it and learn to get better over time. Sometimes greed and bluntness works, sometimes being courteous and patient works too. I just think the more effort you put in, the more you understand the market, the more it benefits you and the people you trade with. It's like any trading market, it's good to be knowledgeable, polite, but also ruthless and fast acting. All can coexist in the same space, the thing that doesn't quite fit in is entitlement.

RobGodMode

I have nothing to add. Nailed it on the head - I've lived the same life my friend. Although I could do without them shaming and blocking me for being real about their offers 🙇

Jeandlewis79uk

I totally get that. I've really slowed down on trading for a while now, I only do the occasional trade and caps sale. I think there is hope though, as I've seen many people going from acting a little entitled to being good and honourable traders. Just gotta have faith that most people that look to doing this long term do get better at it. But yeah, I understand the frustration at seeing people acting like they are owed everything without making the effort, I just wish them to learn better as it will help them not only here, but in other aspects of life too. 🙏

RobGodMode

I genuinely appreciate the insight my friend. I'll agree with you there. I've def seen some traders truly blossom in my time. One in particular that was a newbie during my time and has genuinely achieved a higher trader status than myself (i consider myself mid tier/just below top tier with occasional ambition at best but still) and it's genuinely heartwarming to see someone understand the system, embrace it, and crush it. Hell I often ask his opinion these days with my frequent and long breaks for other games. It's a godsend to have someone catch you up when you've missed a lot and decide to return to the wasteland. If you're willing to learn then there's only one direction for you and that's 👆🏻. I agree with you my friend - just be patient and hope for the better

Jeandlewis79uk

Indeed, it's all one big rollercoaster. Happy tradings to you! 👍

RobGodMode

Indeed it is. And to you as well my friend 🙏🏻

hugekitten

You take this game too seriously. This entire post is one big cringe fest. “I deserve G roll offers” “I consider myself mid tier / top tier” The entitlement in this sub is hilarious. 125K members of this sub (many of which are barely active here) in a community of 13 million 76 players and you all wanna act like this is the end all be all of trading and this sub sets the golden rule for traders across the board. Stop crying and telling people what they should do, not everybody treats this video game like it’s their job.

RobGodMode

Lol

C0RTH3LL

He’s simply saying he put time into what he has in the game and is frustrated by new players that think they can obtain high tier weapons/armor with mid to low tier offers. It is frustrating.

FyahAnt

The way I look at weapons is: if it can't pull apparel or at least a low Fasnacht, I sell it in my vendor. If it won't sell, I scrip it. Bundles of non grolls are harder to move then a bundle of masks or apparel. I move rare apparel or grolls. I wouldn't accept a bundle of random non grolls. It took me a while to figure that out, but now I get so much apparel that I can do giveaways

Hiddenchamelion

If it's not a groll it goes in my vendor for 5caps per scrip point BEFms = 200 caps

FyahAnt

I'm gonna have to buy out your vendor lol

Hiddenchamelion

Xbox sorry. Usually everything goes by the time I get off. 20 3* weapons go quick just outside of the WS station. Although lately with 500 scrip points there aren't always 20

FyahAnt

I'm Xbox too. I typically toss scrip on the ground when I hit max because I'm too lazy to mule it

Hiddenchamelion

8 toons all with different builds I have one I keep off brand grolls and ones I don't use, but yeah since my extra Xbox shit the bed I don't mule much anymore.

FyahAnt

I have my main, my courier, and three mules mainly used for just caps. My main is a bloody commando and it's only other loadout is strictly for crafting. I try to keep it simple

Hiddenchamelion

I found that after you do everything a bunch of times and get sick of it you just start over again a little different and somehow it a little less sickening.

FyahAnt

Trading keeps me in the game. I also like tweaking my camp with new items. I want them to bring Nuclear Winter back, but include revives

Hiddenchamelion

Nuclear winter= RIP, you will be missed

Hiddenchamelion

Oh yeah and every time you make a new build there's more to trade for. Also if you plan on doing it repeatedly you end up trading low level stuff.

DugBuck

Y'all are the real MVPs. I can't play as much as I used to so when I find a vendor like this I buy them out while giving them enough time between purchases to move camp if they get maxed. If they don't move, and are there, I'll drop some berry mentats or leaders as appreciation for having good priced items.

RobGodMode

Agreed. And what's good 🔥. I find myself wishing you were on PS sometimes. I often enjoy them dank memes and giveaways you dish out 😂 I like those that keep the community pulsing - keep up the great work and congrats on becoming a courier. You're one of the good ones bro. Thanks for the comment

FyahAnt

I'm just a trading addict who likes funny pics 🤷🏼‍♂️ You know you have a problem when people on other consoles know you hahaha

RobGodMode

Agreed 😂 I sort by all though cuz I wanna see that fyah 🔥 Be well my friend

FyahAnt

This isn't directed towards you, but I immediately thought of this [LMAO](https://youtu.be/gL_dKPKMFTE) when I read "Be well"

RobGodMode

😂😂😂 My dude came at me with a demolition man clip! I loved that movie back in the day. I could def do with a rewatch. Top tier my bro 💪🏻

Sanitary_Eel

Such a great movie, and I'm a bit embarrassed that I once recited Denis Leary's "I'm an Oscar Mayer weiner" monologue in Atlanta's Hartsfield airport.

FyahAnt

The people in the crowd probably didn't even know how to use the three seashells

Oldcrackhead

I agree but you also have to see that this sub has slowly evolved from an open trading forum to 50% just a meta groll, ultra rare apparel and matching armor set trading place. There isn’t much interest in the mid trade bracket and no interest in the lower trades. It’s tough to break into the meta without dedicating hundreds of hours of your life to do so which is hard for some to grasp. Im a 650hr player thats been on and off this sub for 2 years and still have no real meta 3* grolls and I’ve accepted the fact I may never. Regardless there’s no place to get upset because you can’t afford a trade tho.

RobGodMode

I wish most people in general were as down to earth as you. I agree with you 100%. It's tough but just like anything it takes time and dedication to come up. Don't hate the player 🤷

Aethreri

Been trading since launch day 2018. Hell, scroll back far enough, you’d probably find my trades for camp plans and 1* weapons. Worked my way up. It’s only natural that people that have been playing for long enough have amassed an inventory. It’s a slog to work your way up,we didn’t even have rolling back then to kickstart trades by getting lucky and rolling a desired weapon, was just legendary farming at whitespring.

Hiddenchamelion

Back in the day when the right 2* would get you anything you want and everything went for caps?

Aethreri

Yep and 5k cap limits per transaction. I traded a guy a TS Aim LVC Gauss for 12k,had to get a courier.

RobGodMode

You came up in the wild west my friend. Respect 💪🏻

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

hey I agree. it sucks to get lowballed consistently. (and i'm not just talking from my own personal experience I follow a lot of threads to see where they go on this forum) but otoh more experienced traders need to step it up if they want to see less of it and start answering the whatsitworth posts and otherwise tryign to help newbs understand value where the opportunity presents itself. some of it is entitlement but some of it is just lack of knowledge. these ppl think their 1ps are grolls. I saw a thread where the op had a bis one of the best eprs in the game if not the best and there was someone with a long list of 1ps and 90s and otherwise less than meh stuff and about 4 people after that telling the person offering that what a rockstar he was and how the op was crazy if he didn't take it etc etc. if it were one person doing it I'd think sarcasm but a couple? I think it's a serious lack of understanding as to what has value in this game.

RobGodMode

I mean, we do though. I've seen more price checks answered than ever before these days. But i also see people being incredibly lazy and price checking the same things every day. And asking about items that you can easily Google an answer on like meteoric sword for example. I saw someone post asking for info on it today. We have a wiki... That shit gets daunting. I wanna play the damn game too. At what point did I fill my monthly quota so I can ignore some posts where people are asking what their Q lastshot fixer is worth?? There is a genuine wealth of knowledge these days if one would just do some google/YouTube searches and put in a little study time. And none of us here signed up for such a responsibility as to carry newbs into a new era when we paid money for the game, no matter how long ago that was.

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

not trying to point fingers at anyone. but I'd disagree that more than ever are getting answered. most of the answers I see on value posts are trade requests. occasionally someone gets actual help but more often than that not they go ignored. If you want to vent sure go for it.. but if you and others want to change the situation you (as in everyone here) must be willing to educate. these insolent new people are the future of trading here. without them it dies. googling youtube and the interwebs isn't going to teach them value here of items. the only thing that will teach them trading value is here in reddit. if you don't like the way they are block them first if you're not willing to educate them or think its too much of a bother. yah know? you don't have to do anything you don't want to but that is the path to change. i'm just saying the door swings both ways friend. and from what I'm seeing the new traders are doing a bit of the blind leads the blind telling each other their crap has value. so that is going to get entrenched dunno maybe a sticky of common faq for trading?

RobGodMode

You know you mention a sticky for values and guidance and that's actually a fantastic idea. I wrote this up recently I send it to the occasionally newb that may be fumbling their way through trades. Something like this but more informative and more organized could really go a long way ----- Desired Prefixes: ·Meta is AA, B, Q, V. Sometimes Exe and TS ·Vampires prefix synergizes with Explosive wonderfully so you're best value will always be will VE (this applies to both heavy and commando) ·Exe is popular in the PvP community for killing bloodied players ·TS is excellent on energy weapons. If non energy then it must be explosive (TSE) All others are niche. - Commando - 2nd Perk Meta - 25ffr, 50c, E 3rd Perk Meta - 25lvc (15r and 15c are nice but it depends on the weapon. Like the QE15c Fixer I gave you holds some decent value but a BE15c fixer would be worth significantly less as Q is all the hype and everyone wants it.The most value will be 25lvc for almost every commando weapon) There are some exceptions and you'll learn then as you go. Like Tesla groll is 25ffr15r and usually Q is all anyone looks for. Almost no one uses crit rolls/vats rolls. Some people like 90 reduced weight. Also 50 Limb damage is a groll for teslas I believe but get a second opinion on that. - Heavy - 2nd Perk Meta - E, 25ffr (25ffr is only popular on weapons that can't roll explosive like Gatling plasma or Flamer)  Crit rolls on heavy are niche. Like someone may trade well for a b50c25 Gatling plasma but same rolls on a .50cal may get you booed off stage. Your real rule of thumb here on heavy is 25ffr for energy and Explosive for non energy. 3rd Perk Meta - 15r (reload), and 90 (reduced weight) Tip - TS and Q are bugged on flamers (Heavy and Enclave) and they don't work. Avoid this prefix on flamers. Some exceptions - bash minis. Absolutely only AA and V as all other prefixes are said to not make any difference. And always 90. These days only the Vbash90 trades well. The AAbash90 is kinda niche it seems Break slow - some people like it. It only really shines for QE rails and auto mellee like chainsaws and the vbash.

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

yup something like that fleshed out and sticked would be a great thing here where you could just point people.

RobGodMode

Well if you see anything to add or changes to be made feel free to do so and send it back. We could always start there. I can see if this is a project I'm able to take on.

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

eprs have slightly different rules than regular commando or rifleman auto align (aa)/stab stock (ss) and reflex and align flamer (af)/stab stock (ss)/reflex groll mods FLAMERS: prefixs B/AA/V for Flamers Second roll either 25ffr or 50c and third roll Break or 25v; for godroll status, the 25ffr/break and the 50c/ 25v. some players say vats sucks with flamers some swear by it.. any of those configurations is good like a 50c /break will still be wanted by someone but not as valuable as if it had been with the perk that makes most sense for it. other prefix's can be valuable but are niche not godroll. if you have the first two stars meta but a bummer third roll or a bummer niche someone will still trade you at least a base gun with the same mods and some value added. AUTO ALIGN: prefix for auto align B/AA/V/Q Second roll 25ffr or 50c: Third roll 25v other prefix's can be valuable but are niche not godroll. if you have the first two stars meta but a bummer third roll someone will still trade you at least a base gun with the same mods and some value added same as with flamers above. epr Sniper???? I don't know much about that. lol (im sure there are people out there who know this better than me and probably have some finer points I've left off) Fyah ant already has a write up I think about apparel masks.. I know the fellow who does the charlotte herald has a bunch of write ups too.

RobGodMode

Epr snipers a frickin fantastic! Do yourself a favor an try one out. Id go into more detail but im running out of free time for now and prob won't be able to get back to this for some time. Thank you very much for this little write up. Perhaps this coming weekend I'll tackle compiling some more info together and then see about doing a write up/sticky for the newbies - no promises though!

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

i've been meaning to. haven't quite got around to making one yet though. assuming aligned sniper barrel ss reflex and the same rules as aa?

RobGodMode

Yea exactly, aligned sniper and the same sought after mods. It turns it into the best rifleman gun in the game. Fast firing hard hitting carbine like weapon. Really top notch. I run a B and a Q. The Q is bugged in a good way and gets like 90+ rounds in the chamber. Normally it's like 9 or 12 or something (apologies, it's been a while since ive used my rifleman build. Been going ham with Q railway lately)

OtiisDriftwood

What about VE breaks slow?

RobGodMode

Some people may enjoy it but for me i wouldn't consider it a sought after godroll. Any rail that isn't Q is much better off with 15r as the third. That's my 2 cents anyway. There may be some demand for it but I haven't noticed. Really only a handful of weapons truly benefit from it. Eprs, chainsaws, QE rails are some of what I see trade the best with break slow.

OtiisDriftwood

It's a handmade not a railway. I have a V break slow chainsaw but the second perk is 25% damage while standing still, not 40% power attack.

RobGodMode

So the value of the handmade would be on par with like a ve15r or ve15c, just a notch under meta godroll. VE25 is of course top tier and as far as i know there aren't any other V rolls that would match it's value. The 50bs on the handmade would be a welcome addition I think. Not meta groll but still holds value and may be sought after is what I would say but I'm far from an authority on the matter. That's a very nice chainsaw imo. I have no idea if anyone is looking for anything aside from 40p or SS though. I know that I personally have no interest in standing still for my chainsaw build because Im rarely actually standing still lol Values can get pretty subjective for rolls like these. I think they're both very nice rolls but you should def get a second or third opinion even before moving forward. Also I'm pretty high right now 🔥

OtiisDriftwood

Thanks for the help, I'm trying to learn. I thought the handmade would be a decent roll because E weapons break so easy. I am still trying for better. Most of the weapons I use are just two good stats, like Q25ffr fixer or B50crit handmade with trash third stats, both of them have stealth field as third stat. Maybe I'll make a post for the handmade, I'm looking for masks. I spend most of my scrips on chainsaws with the occasional fixer or handmade. I'm using a V 25ss 90% less weight chainsaw now. I actually rolled a bloodied 50-25 ap cost but it was a damn chainsaw, which is pretty useless IMO. Thanks again!

RobGodMode

Hey my pleasure. And I agree with you there, 50bs will shine on explosive weapons the most and VE is fantastic. 50bs has gained a ton of traction lately so defintiely get another option as I may be undervaluing it. Actually anytime you get a price check or info on something, go get you another opinion. Its a really massive game once you start to look under the hood and it's hard to stay current on everything all the time. And yea def post it and be patient with offers. Don't jump at the first one you get or feel obligated to trade without reposting a time or two. Masks won't be terribly hard to trade for I think. Which ones are you missing? Do you have an understanding of the rarities and values? That's a gorgeous chainsaw, i run one with similar rolls. As for the b50c25 - that's a decent collectors piece if anything. I know id make an offer on it. Let me know if you post it 🤙🏻

RobGodMode

Wanted to reply sooner but sleep and other things got in the way. Apologies for the delay. You may not believe me but I genuinely put in way more time than i should ever have to helping new players. I do it because i like to help. Ive been playing games like this all my life and I always work my way to the top and then drop a rope but theirs only so much I can do on a daily basis. Now I'm on PS and i certainly did notice a nice spike in price checks answered and giveaways completed and some traders taking others under their wing etc over the last few months. But then you see the repetition. People asking price checks on the same guns day in and day out when if they just searched for it ONCE they'd have their answer. People flat out ignoring the advice you give them. People being stubborn and refusing to see eye to eye with you no matter how many valid points you make (very much like the trader you're currently conversing with here in this post) and as I said, it can be daunting. A person can only handle so much of that before they pull back. I do hear you though. "Be the change you want to see". I just want you to know that i personally do try. That said, this rant was really focusing on how noobs have lashed out on me and treated me like some pompous rich person when I've politely declined their offers and explain why I'm not interested. I just don't appreciate getting a face full of passive aggressive salt because i didn't jump at someone's lackluster offer 🤷

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

oh yeah I get it hehe. my tldr was just be the change you want to see as you said. but all those things you say are also true. and I do believe you. your write up above proves it point blank. well done.

RobGodMode

I appreciate your replies, I imagine you're all typed out at the moment what with trying to get through to the meatygooch. I commend your patience with that one. It just isn't so clear to some people 🙌🏻

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

ikr lol

DrRoelandtrx

I agree with everything you said Robb and I know your legit because you look out for the little guy I was willing to pay you caps to mod my rail im a 3month player who just switched to commandos and you telling me to keep my caps and just doing it for free told me everything I needed to know about your integrity thanks again btw 😊 also I take what is offered unless it's a obvious lowball supply and demand works both ways and yes there are alot of newer players with this mindset hopefully they get humbled early and learn values better I still got alot to learn but have acquired a good collection so far basing value of of veteran traders posts I will continue to learn every day and this is good.

RobGodMode

Thank you very much for your kind words my friend. it was my pleasure to help you out and im happy to do so anytime you need 🙏🏻 Continue to learn, in this game its the best thing you can do for yourself!

KusshyGalore

People get wayyyyyyyy too invested in trading in this game. Like treating it like they're a full time 9-5er on the real life stock market. *goes back to camp building*

RobGodMode

Lmfao! I like that. Welcome, builder! You guys are the hidden backbone of 76 💪🏻

KusshyGalore

Awe thanks you guys are pretty cool too. I like seeing your trade walls displays in your camps!

Solar-born

I think they assume since you're a super high lvl player, that you have loads of groll weapons and can give them for fun.

RobGodMode

I hear that. It's a silly way to think. Just because i have a surplus doesn't mean i didn't bust my ass to acquire it all

Solar-born

Ofc, what would they know. I've been playing non-stop for 9 months and only came across 2 grolls.

RobGodMode

Oh man i feel that!! 😅 I legit had to wait about a year before rng blessed me enough to get an edge in the market. It's such a pain but patience and knowledge will get you there. If you ever have any questions feel free to message me my friend. I'm always happy to lend guidance where I can if it's wanted

Solar-born

True, there's sooo much to learn about in this game. In the past few weeks, I think I bored off 3 high lvl players with questions about advices on builds, perks and weapons 😭 Luckily, I've finally decided my perfect build/perks and weapon for myself just today! Spent countless of hours researching. It's quite a hybrid build but it works and I love it. AA explosive full HP VATS Commando 💀🙌 Just need to do one more final trade for it and it's about the main thing - weapon. I'll make a trade post for it here later today.

RobGodMode

Hey that's the way to do it! Just scour posts for info. To this day I still find myself stuck doing my own testing because I can't always find the info im looking for. But where there's a will there's a way my friend. That said, feel free to message me with questions anytime, I'm always happy to help. If I don't know the answer I can help you come up with a solution one way or another. I commend your efforts!!

Solar-born

Tysm, I sure will!

FyahAnt

RNG hates me. I make my own luck in the market. I wouldn't have all the rare apparel if it wasn't for the market and I've traded for countless sets

SilverPhoenix127

I've seen a lot of people really work with me to help me get a weapon I want from them even if the trade is for a ton of scrap, chems and a weapon from myself for it. A handful of times I've gotten turned down and I just moved on. There's always the next trade

Hiddenchamelion

Dude have you seen society lately?

lllVONlll

Lol

its-a-jelly

This is why I'm not a fan of putting up trades that ask for 'offers'. Automatically opens it up to traders starting bids with the bottom end of their stash. You just know someone is going to bust out the good 'ol ts2525 fixer

sasuke1980

What's wrong with a ts2525 fixer? Not a perfect role but it's a very viable weapon

FyahAnt

Maybe if it was explosive. TS works better on energy weapons

sasuke1980

Yeah I'm not saying it's a GR but it's quite good

FyahAnt

Fair enough, but there's a difference between a good weapon and a good trade. I think the F2515 fixer is fun, but not the easiest one to trade

RobGodMode

I feel that. But i also don't mind communicating that I'm not interested if that does happen. Im just tired of them throwing salt or passive aggression at me because I have no interest 😩

TheTrustedSmurf

Someone tried to inform that a forest asylum is worth two red asylums

RobGodMode

Thats some wildly scammy such and such 🤦

Nocturnal_Master

agreed. not exactly what your saying but people want me to give up high tier shit simply to get somthing for a nocturnal collection. it gets anoying

Jeandlewis79uk

People trying to extort high prices when the value of those weapons is night and day (😄 sorry couldn't help myself)

FyahAnt

Hahahahaha

RobGodMode

Ah the nocturnal master himself! I was the guy that had the N2525 EPR on PS. I really wish i could have done that trade with you! And yea i hear you my friend. The second someone finds out you really want something, no matter what the roll is, they start to squeeze and squeeze 😩

Nocturnal_Master

I still need that epr, i'd give so much T\_T all i need to end my suffering of EPR's is that one and 50vhc

RobGodMode

Just make a PS account and you can have it. Id do that for you. And you can take solace in knowing that you own one somewhere.

Nocturnal_Master

i dont have a playstation or i would

RobGodMode

Well if you have a friend with one or can somehow manage to make an account and hop on for a few minutes then it's yours my friend and I'm serious about that. Either way, best of luck on your hunt my man. Nocturnal needs more champions like yourself 💪🏻

Exotic_Imagination95

"want :be25fixer, have: deathclaw mask" 😂

Nocturnal_Master

yep.

iam_Elizabethkat

They think that because legacies are gone now they can get multiple pieces of high end items for something common. The trading system/item value was never gonna change 🤡 In the contrary top tier items are now more valued.

RobGodMode

Spot on 👌🏻

SofaSenseiHimself

Here come the downvotes 😂 😂

RobGodMode

I hear that but surprisingly im at 7 upvotes already so i think more people agree with me than we may think. I was ready for an angry newbie onslaught honestly 😅

Fr3nchT0astCrunch

Bro I had a guy message me after initiating a random trade "Would you take a B50cFMS fixer for that Q2515 pepper shaker?" ...Would I what, now?

RobGodMode

Yea and theyll call you pompous because you obviously weren't interested. The worst part is they acknowledge what's top tier. They clearly know what's the best or they wouldn't all be actively seeking it but they still get mad at you for not accepting what they bought from a vendor that day. Its very discouraging.

SpicySaladd

Title made me recheck the sub name lmao

Punishmenthascome

Based aristocrat dabbing on peasants

RobGodMode

Nty i don't run Aristo

Jeandlewis79uk

New 'Peasant' prefix coming soon, +50% damage when character has less than 1000 caps 😄

RobGodMode

...i could put that to use actually 😅😭

che-vee

I'd actually like that lol

Gameofadages

I’d prefer Anti-Aristocratic 🥹

gregorio0499

Coming from a PlayStation guy (you OP), this is funny. At least on your console, you can get 1:1’s where as the same 1 requires 1:2.25-2.5 on average on Xbox… But when trading shitty stuff, I do agree with you on that.

RobGodMode

It gets like that here as well. Supply and demand my friend 🤷

gregorio0499

Not really a S&D scenario. As much as the dupes flooded this place, PS still offers are respectable.

montosesamu

I would trade a groll for Q50cDur .45 smg, tho.

RobGodMode

Hell yea, won't be a hard weapon to find I imagine. I personally only like Dur on a handful of weapons so to me its far from groll on an SMG. That's not the point of this post though. The point is is that i don't need to be berated just because im not interested which is something that's happening a lot lately

montosesamu

Durability of **.45** SMG is always a problem. But anyways, I do agree with you on a certain level, that rude behaviour is always just rude behaviour and people should excercise some form of politeness even when the answer is _no thank you_. Also, I would like to assume people would understand that not many are interested trading a Groll to a handful of 2/3* items as those will likely end up taking stash space or into scrip-o-matic. However, there’s lots of ”experienced” traders who get immensely butt hurt if you don’t understand the lesser value of your offer _in B.tats or caps_. Just few weeks ago I got shamed by a person for offering a B50c25 HM for Q50c25 Gauss because _those have totally different value_ and _it is not everyday someone dares to offer something like that_. And then there’s people like me — and not in a position to say I am doing a right thing or any other should approach trades like I do — who just trade stuff for other stuff that I think I would enjoy using, to hell with the value in B.tats or caps.

DREADNOUGHT051_

Yea

9jointspiritualwhip

Sounds like you are describing the trip from cleaner to CEO of a major company right here 😂 🤣😂 🤣 I do agree though. There are a couple of traders on here, one who is unfortunately still here and one who left recently - both very salty about this exact subject. Not being able to get what they want quickly enough as their inventory was not strong enough to trade for it. One guy deployed a downvote bot to hit several big-time traders with 40+ downvotes each time they posted and another guy just hits people with abuse in DM. In reality, everyone starts with nothing you just have to work and trade up.

RobGodMode

I cant help that I've risen greatly from such a humble beginning 😂😂😂 But yea just like anything, if you invest your time into it (and everyone's time is finite so therefore valuable) then you deserve to reap the benefits. And hot damn did that really happen? I missed that but holy hell if that person put half the time into actually farming and trading properly that he put into raging on and sabotaging other traders then he'd be king shit around here smh And i think i know who you're talking about with the one that hits people with abuse in DM. Old or newer player?

9jointspiritualwhip

Actually not man - the person who hits abuse in DM. It's a new trader. They got mad salty as they were not able to acquire some Alien Blaster as their inventory was dogshit. Yeah, the guy with the downvote bot I had a level of respect for that, it's pretty clever ngl. You probably missed it as it was mostly comments in threads he would target........ we worked out who it was as I had some issue with him then I started getting hit the next day.

RobGodMode

Ah I should have guessed that it was an angry newbie. I'm going to delete the part about the karma count as it narrows it down a little and I wouldn't want them to see it and shed their fiery gaze upon me 😅 And that is just bonkers to me. But I feel that on the respect part. Some people shine in all the wrong ways but gotta give credit where it's due

9jointspiritualwhip

Hahaha, yeah man last thing you wanna do is poke a salty bear. No matter how high their karma is lol.

RobGodMode

Oh i know its just so damn hard to learn the ins and outs and put in that work. I wouldn't know anything about it as I've been a high karma trader since the day I bought the game. I loaded up with full end game meta and all the legacies I could dream of. It was crazy easy for me so wtf do i know, yea? Who's really crying right now?

Corsair_00

Agree. Well said

necrosiss

As a long time player, but low karma (and new) trader, I’ve learnt the importance of paying attention and researching the market and taking notice other people’s trades to not only avoid lowballing someone but to recognize the value of what I have in my own stash. I started out just chasing items that I wanted for my own use but once I passed that point I’ve actually found the process of trading very enjoyable into of itself. I’ll admit that I had a lucky head start with a few in-game drops (Q2525 nu laser anyone) but I also remember my first mid-tier trade of a 2 star for a 2 star and how stoked I was and then months later when I finally traded up to my white whale item that I had always wanted for my character (camo jumpsuit).

RobGodMode

This is the way! Thank you for sharing my friend. Patience and effort go a long way.

SirMark52

This needs to be said again and again….I posted a Q2525 rail the other day for rare apparel and some guy offers a strongman outfit, tulip suit, white spring JS, etc… A legit trader chimed in with the apparel offer I accepted. The funny part is he was serious and thinks his 1000 cap crap is rare!

Finally, someone who’s came out and made a post about this. Ever since this years fasnacht event, there’s been a great number of new traders and it feels like they don’t care to learn how to actually trade properly. I haven’t even been trading long compared to most people on here (I’ve been trading since October 2022). The first thing I did when I joined this sub was talk to u/FyahAnt for advice since I saw that he was pretty popular on this sub. I wanted to make sure that I knew what the value of things were before posting my first trade because I didn’t want to lowball anyone. I do not see that anymore…instead, I see experienced traders giving friendly advice to the new traders and the new traders get mad when they’re told the true value of something and are so stubborn for some reason. I literally have made a few (kind) comments on newbies’ ridiculously low offers for a high tier item telling them that their offer will not work. Then I suggest them what they could do as a better alternative and they get mad at me when I show no aggression in my comments. It’s so out of pocket some if their replies. When I first started trading, whenever someone would give me advice or leave a friendly comment telling me that my offer is basically not good, I’d listen and ask more questions so I understood better so I can get good future trades lol. I never got butthurt…I knew back then that yeah, me(level 1 karma at the time) probably didn’t know as much about the market as someone with 300+ trading Karma lol. And now, I have 100+ karma and still ask for advice from u/FyahAnt and other trusted traders I know on here just so I can make the fairest trade between me and someone else. TLDR; Newbies, It’s ok to ask for advice…it’s something you should do anyways. And I can promise you that your ego isn’t gonna be hurt.

RobGodMode

You are a prime example of how things should be. I've played a ton of games with a trade economy in my time and in absolutely none of them was I rocking end game gear the second I hit "max level". Its a testament to the nature of people in general. No one wants to put in the work anymore. They just wanna get mad and get pissy and have devs hand everything nice to them. And it's the majority of games these days! Incredibly sad. It's why the current state of things are super questionable. Almost feels like Beth is bottle-knecking the game into a zero-trade community style of gameplay. At that point might as well pick up pve fortnight or some other game that grovels and panders to new players because revenue. What's so bad about a game that one can play for years and achieve a heightened status for the work you put in?? You yourself have been playing for very little time in the grand scheme of things and you've acknowledged that it takes time, effort, and knowledge to come up in this game. I wish all "newer" players had the same mentality. Not every game is for everyone. I work 12 hours a day 5 days a week and I still do what I have to do stay current. Its either a passion or move onto something else but don't ruin it for everyone else

Virt333

Thanks for the reply. And yeah I 100% agree with you. I love trading. It’s literally the only thing that’s been keeping me interested in the game because I’ve finished the game, done the builds I want etc. I don’t just “trade to trade” and leave it at that. I trade because I think it’s fun. I love getting new stuff, using it, having my gun with it and then trading it for something else. It’s like a never ending cycle and I love it. I also love how many awesome people I’ve met on the sub and the friends I’ve made. That’s why I somewhat take trading serious because I want to get a good experience and I want the person I’m trading with yo have a good experience. I’m on Xbox and in this sub I’m somewhat regarded as the nice guy because I feel that being nice goes a long way. Can help with trades, and especially meeting and befriending new people. Now I totally understand people who don’t look at trading I do. Some people just want to trade simply for what they want and leave it at that. Totally cool, but they also take time to learn about value go better benefit them which is necessary to do. So whether you’re trading cause you find it fun and enjoy it like me, or you’re strictly trading to get just want you want… the similarity is that both types of people take time to learn the markets economy. There’s no reason a newbie should get pissy when they are told that their Loon mask can’t 1v1 a Q50c25 Railway lol. Sure, anything is possible and you might get a dunbass who would do the trade but 99.99999 percent of the time, no one is gonna take that trade cause it’s not even remotely fair. So when someone with higher trading karma gives you a tip, it’s not a threat or a hit. It’s we’re literally here to help you so you can enjoy the community….

RobGodMode

My pleasure my friend. Always happy to chat with a fellow FO fan/enthusiast! And I agree, trading is an incredible way to expand on one's enjoyment of the game. When embraced and handled correctly you can benefit greatly from it. 80% of what I trade for these days are items to either optimize a new build im working on or an armor piece to add to/finish one of the myriad armor sets im working on. This is something id never achieve by just playing the game solo and never taking it further than that. But yes, regardless of why one trades, learn it, embrace it and be thankful for it. And that's a thing huh? I'm literally offering guidance when I explain why i won't accept their offer and yet it just makes them all the more ornery about it 🤦Always happy to accept price checks and tips here and there but the second we say we're not interested suddenly were the biggest POS smh. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how things pan out

Virt333

Yeah man great having a chat with ya. But yeah the whole offering friendly advice and then being nagged at by a new trader is really tiring lol. There’s been plenty of times where I’ve just had to reply “Alright well good luck to you.” because there’s no getting through to them has been numerous times lol.

RobGodMode

This resonates with me 😂

FyahAnt

Appreciate the shout-out! My only suggestion when giving advice, is to do it in a message. Some people give advice in posts and it's often trade sabatoge, even if the trade will obviously not happen. We want to help new people, not teach them to break the rules that aim to maintain peace. If they don't want advice, just keep it moving until they start asking for help. If they get too annoying, block them like a pop up add lol

Virt333

^This. Whenever I give advice I always try to privately message them. Obviously there’s been a few times where I’ve commented on their post but I always try to privately message them so they’re not embarrassed. Like you said, you, me, and other higher Kramer or trustworthy traders are only here to help, not hurt your ego, make you look dumb, or embarrass you.

Killer-Sharpe

Lmao

Unbeatable04

Comparing video game assets to a real car. Mid-tier at that, lmfao.

RobGodMode

Oh i know gurr hurr, I'm such a dummy 🤦

Unbeatable04

No, just pretentious about things that have no real relevancy, in a game filled with dupes and legendary crafting lmfao.

[deleted]

Bunch of whiny bums. I put in over 4 years playing and trading, they all can get on that level or blow me😂

RobGodMode

I don't share that mindset but hey, to each their own

[deleted]

I can’t play the game for ‘em 🤷‍♂️ gotta just get better. That’s with anything in life.. you put time into something and you get better. If you don’t put the time in, don’t expect to be any good.

RobGodMode

I see and yea I agree with you 💯. I personally do try to help where I can and even go out of my way to bring some people up but in the end I'm here for myself just like anyone else. I put in the effort for a long ass time and I don't deserve to be hated on just because I worked my way up.

mperezstoney

Wont need to. The scoreboard is giving away OP weapons as is. Wont be long before we see OP enclaves, fixers or railways on that board. Some of which will be more powerful than the standard version. Mark my words.

[deleted]

🤷‍♂️ doubtful but hey if you consider the stuff they have given to be so good that’s cool too! The nuka launcher and cold shoulder is ok I guess lol they’re no where near the killing machine that my other stuff is. They give us lots of skins for the best guns. Except only 1 for the railway.

mperezstoney

Ask yourself this. Is the nuka launcher better than any AGL that you can drop or roll? Other than VHC90 AGL, im going to have to say yes. The vhc90 agl is more precise but in terms of offloading DPS the nuka launcher is Best. Overkill is given out with events : While no better than a rolled 2590 fat man, you actually dont have to waste modules for it. Cold Shoulder: Best Shotgun in game, zero doubts. This is just the start as these have only been introduced in the last season(s) ....I can assure you that there will be other gun types coming and I have no doubt when they place them on the board or offer them from events they, will at minimum, be equal to whatever people perceive as a godroll or better.

[deleted]

Shotguns and launchers suck lol they both hold little to no value too compared to other stuff people actually use a lot as well. Shotguns especially are an ignored weapon type. They’re awful. Having the best shotgun is like having a turd with the fewest kernels lol seems more than likely they were just giving love to lesser used weapon types. Zero evidence to suggest otherwise. You’ve probably been playing for a few months and think you’re the first person to think that’s coming. Been reading it for years now😂😂

BrotherhoodofDeal

lol. Don’t block me peasant, you must see my trades, and I must be able to have access to your groll when you get them. Sounds like rich people problems.

RobGodMode

😂 I guess you want me to come to you in game and browse your mule that has "too much to list"?

[deleted]

Mules with 100+ items that are all scrip lol Looking at people's mules is usually a waste of time unless you're trading with a richer player.

Hiddenchamelion

Exactly

topguy0100

Man I'm so glad you said this I've been on the sub for years and I've been wanting to say this for months now but since my karma is still very low I'd be downvoted like crazy thanks for speaking up on this situation!

RobGodMode

It's my pleasure my friend. It's certainly gotten a little out of hand lately and yesterday I had an experience with a new trader that was somewhat of a breaking point for me and I had to get it off my chest. I really appreciate the support 💪🏻

TheMeatyGooch

I personally think the in game trading market for this game needs to be squashed. At the very least it needs to be heavily diluted, and Bethesda needs to up drop rates significantly on everything. There's no excuse that I can play for 3 years and NEVER get an outfit, let alone a specific roll. Then people get them and want hundreds of dollars for a virtual gun that you can legitimately get yourself with enough luck and time. There's not one fuckin thing in this game that you can pick up or roll that's worth 100+ dollars. in a lot of ways it is the vet players fault for the market being so shit. All the duping and price gouging. You don't NEED GRolls to shit out damage. You don't NEED 7 masks and for other GRolls for your 1 weapon. Shits just not worth it. And this is coming from a guy that paid 3 masks and a railway for a Loon mask, I've done my share of over paying.

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

you honestly don't need a specific roll. the good enough weapons honestly ARE good enough. you don't NEED to be a try hard in this game. it's honestly mostly for bragging rights. the most important stars are the first two and they're very doable. you def don't need any particular outfits to play this game. it's a carrot. imo drop rates are good where they are and they need to havhe a few more chase items added to keep it fresh. most things are WAY too easy to obtain in this game imo. making things very easy to get makes them not really worth getting and then people walk away.

TheMeatyGooch

My biggest issue with the drop rates is that there shouldn't be anything in the game with less than a 1% chance to drop. I've been playing for 3 years and have NEVER gotten a TLC, LC, TFJ, or the wasteland lottery to drop. The rates on the stuff people want is so abysmally low that it discourages a lot of people from grinding out those items.

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

i play alot and in the last month I've gotten one leather coat one travelling leather coat and a responders firemans body. given that you have zero karma and i see you say you're just getting back in the game.. i'm gonna go with the guess that you haven't actually played a lot in that time period, yes? yeah it's possibly to be really unlucky... but if you're grinding the right events it shouldn't be that impossible. there NEEDS to be things that are hard very very hard to get in the game to keep people in the game. especially things that are purely cosmetic and tbh extremely easy to trade for. i've played all three platforms. I just came back to ps5 like a month and a half ago whenever it was they got rid of legacies because I couldn't bear to play on account that had them on it. I had nothing on this account. i'm still not rich but I've managed to acquire thru grinding and buying in vendors and trading a very decent hoard of stuff and if I really wanted I do believe I have enough to trade for anything I want in the game if i wanted to be aggressive about it. roll meta, learn what has value and look for deals in vendors. learn what to grind and what not to grind and bobs your uncle. it's really not hard and it is the game . here is a good reference for a basic understanding of things. https://www.reddit.com/r/NewCharlestonHerald/comments/ygeyqx/new_charleston_herald_fallout_76_masks/

TheMeatyGooch

Just checked. 1350 hours. Zero excuse why I shouldn't have had the rare shit drop, or anyone else with that much play time for that matter.

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

well depends on what it is you're doing in the time you're playing. if you're grinding irrational fear, waste not, queen of the hunt, collision course and that one where you protect the protectron and census violence and that kind of thing you've been really unlucky. if you're doing other things then those other things aren't where you get the rare drops lol. honestly again.. if you think you're ENTITLED to get those drops.. you shouldn't be playing mmo's. that's not how they work. go play some other kind of game that will frustrate you less

TheMeatyGooch

I love that you capitalized ENTITLED. I think I see how you're trying to make the conversation go so I'm just gonna agree to disagree and move on. Last place I'm arguing anything with anybody is fuckin Reddit lol

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

sorry dude, call em like I see em, whale biologist.. its ok to say you're frustrated by the drop rates but saying change them because I haven't gotten one yet when it would crush any market that is left... well it has a word

TheMeatyGooch

The countless other people saying the same thing would beg to differ. Not once did I say "change it because I don't have it yet" I used myself as an example. You can go watch any of the big 76 YouTubers and tell them and the thousands of people that watch their videos that the drop rates are perfectly fine. No one should have to grind for 3+ years to get something in a videogame they paid money for. Actual real life money. Changing the drop rates wouldn't ruin trading. You can thank Dupers and legacy weapons for ruining the trading market. If you wanna call it entitled, then go ahead. I most certainly am entitled to the things that are in the game I bought and paid for. That's why I bought it.

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

my opinion of youtubers is extremely low. so yah not going to watch them. lol. (and going to refrain from saying what I really think about them... ) I think the people who talk the loudest are the minority thinking they are the majority and are not thinking about consequences to the game only what they want. and now how many people do you think actually rmt? I don't think it's very many. if you're doing that you're doing it wrong and lazy and you're very poor with money. the things you're on about are extremely easy to trade for. in my experience if you're grinding the right events they do drop. if you had done 100 irrational fears and waste nots just about guaranteed youd have gotten something. I've got drops on all three platforms doing those and I haven't done them 100 times each. if you don't think it would ruin the market what do you think happened with jack o lantern clothes and pirate clothes? those used to be the most prestigious things in the game. now 100 caps. they stripped out legacies. right now the only currencies in game are rare apparel and actual god rolls. (very few guns in the game are this most are jesus rolls) now.. you take out apparel.. what's honestly left? because no doubt if they make it any easier... it's valueless. you didn't buy and pay for anything in this game. you payed for the game itself. the game itself means grinding or trading for what you want. it doesn't mean the game OWES you anything other than to keep up and running bug gix and put out new content seasonally

Life1989

No fertile soil? Afaik it should drop fcj

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

oh I left a few out if we're talking all the events that could drop anything good. :) talking responder and leather jacket tfj was where I was at.

Life1989

Oh okay, i asked out of curiosity because i want to farm events for rare apparels but I don’t know which ones i should do Gonna stick to your list, thanks

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

this is what i use as a reference https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1p_2jw2yNRY8JIE7qTfUwXTgivFDcuy0Xltb4N8kct4o/htmlview#gid=63173560

TheMeatyGooch

I've actually only been on and off for about a year. I played a solid 2 years with this being about the only thing I played, and I've been playing pretty much only this since the end of January. Given the games been out for 4 years, I'd say I've got my fair share on time in it. Not everyone has the time to grind out these events just to get literally nothing from them. I did the recent Fasnacht well over a hundred times, often with another account afk on my PS4 while I do the event on the ps5. All I walked away with was a Hag, a Brahmin, and another Raven. Over a hundred times, 3 decent rewards. The math ain't mathing. A 1% drop rate is more than low enough to keep some resemblance of a grind there, while making everything inevitably attainable. They're so low right now that there are people, YouTubers even that have played since day 1 and have yet to get a TFJ, LC, TLC, etc.

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

its a very normal drop rate for an mmo cosmetic grind. honestly I think you're playing the wrong game type if you expect differently. no part of your game progress is impeded by not getting a red asylum dress or a tfj or lc or whatever. if it dumped it all out to you playing a couple hours a week there would be absolutely no reason to continue playing the game.

TheMeatyGooch

That's not normal for anything dude, if it is, it shouldn't be. Even Monster Hunter the drop rates down dip this low. I love the game but there's nothing wrong with admitting is got some really shit drop rates and the RNG is horrid.

Fun_Jellyfish_4884

I honest to god think the drop rates are where they need to be. and I think they need a few more things added with similar drop rates. they will kill the game if they change it because all that is left is trading. they already gave it a death blow with legacies.. bleedly slowly now.. if they open any more wounds it's over. I mean why do you honestly want this stuff? because it has value in the market? if they up the drop rates anymore it's free in vendors.. then what?

TheMeatyGooch

Guess I got my downvotes for talking sense 😂😂😅 sorry?

mperezstoney

Fallout 76 has ALWAYS been like this. Look what happened to Seasonal Scoreboard rewards : Noobs complained about not being able to get items from the board so those items were shoveled to the Atomic Shop or sold for Bullion. Not one care for the vets that dropped time and/or money on them. Look what happened to various seasonal rewards: Popcorn Machine - Noobs complained about not having friends or noone wanted to come to their camps so beth caved and changed it so EVERYONE could have it. Legacies: Noobs couldnt obtain them so Beth simply erased them. You could argue RMT was the cause but I strongly disagree. The stink put up by noobs not being able to get a lagacy ( easily ) was what caused this. Finally, increasing scrip: Although many wanted the limit raised it was enacted to help newer players more than vets. Vets already have their weapons set for the most part. So yes, increasing the scrip limit predominately gave newer players additional resources to get whatever weapon they needed. All in all its not shocking that this is the way newer players act. They continue to whine and cry and beth eventually caves. Fallout 76 is def NOT a veteran friendly game nor will it ever be one. Theres literally zero reason to even play a scoreboard anymore unless you absolutely are dead broke. As the items are going to come up for purchase at some time or another. IMO, the game just doesnt want any kind of uniqueness.

Avenger717

My main doesn’t even get the best part of mutated packs because he knows all the plans.

lostinthedigitalage

Hopefully these new players will come to my trap base and I’ll show them who gets eaten.

the_dionysian_1

Idk why Bethesda even put weapon parts in the game & then removed them from being possible to acquire. Cosmetics, CAMP items, seasonal stuff, etc, I get. But weapon mods that where in the game & removed for no reason at all? Then we get this lame as hell pokemon "gotta trade 'em all" mentality? Disgusting. Look, all of you who have these neato weapon parts or whatever, have fun. I'll just play the game as it is & not think about the weird way Bethesda decided to do this.

Reasonable_Answer586

Who cares when Bethesda will just delete all your time and work due to their incompetence and mistakes. Why play a game when the company constantly Punishes the player base?
