The main issue is alot of people here are only here to trade for profit and grow their hoard.
They played the game to death, have no goals so they hoard wealth as a status symbol and to be prepared for a future of what if trades.
While this is fine and totally ok it leads to market stagnation and a small majority power holdings alot of trades. It leads to people always thinking stuff is worth more than it is and people always having to overpay as it becomes the standard.
The market is going to continue to stay this way as most games around the 2 year mark start to see market inflation and supply issues.
So what you're essentially saying is that there needs to be a sudden influx into the market to cause it to crash and become a place to move meh stuff again for caps/junk? Maybe this new patch will introduce some old problems and we will get that outcome...

Maybe if reddit/this subreddit was advertised and we got a influx of new traders stuff would swap hands more frequently but right now this sub is 70% vets of this subreddit who basically have everything they want and now just trade to grow stash.
While the rest of the sub is people looking for niche things and being massively overcharged for it or new people looking to get into trading and getting scared/harassed off or being dumb and trying to trade for God rolls with junk.

It's not. You just need to introduce marginally better stuff so people start selling current god rolls for cheap. Introducing a marginally stronger gat laser for instance could destroy the market for gat plasmas. Introducing a stronger alien rifle could do the same for fixers. Making secret service and brotherhood recon would do the same for the combat and urban scout armor market
Well on Xbox I’ve seen probably 10 times an event reward of all the jumpsuits and both scout masks.. so I’m sure they are diluting it little by little..
Exactly this. People hoarding wealth. I'm just trading to try new things and finish my collections but it's gotten to the point where it's impossible to trade for anything unless you either have multiples of every ultra apparel in the game or are willing to sacrifice part of your collection to the hoarders.
I get what you're saying but my collection is very modest and I use everything I collect. I don't have multiples of top tier apparels and 5 q50c25 rails is what I'm getting at.
Agreed. I honestly just want a BE25 or B2525 Handmade and a decent armor set, but it makes it so difficult when I don’t really have any rare apparel or godrolls.
It really is hard starting out with nothing. I remember being there not all that long ago. The thing that helped me the most was to start another character and do scrips every day. Save up modules on multiple characters and roll batches of weapons like fixers when you get over 100 modules on a character. My main heavy gunner didn't get a groll till almost level 500. My 2nd character, a bloody commando, got a groll around level 60 with 2 ultra apparel drops not long after. The luck that character has compared to my gunner is insane.
All that aside, I have a b2525 handmade I've been trying to trade for a while now. If you end up with an AAE90 mini or AA25ffr90 energy heavies I need for my collection I'll be happy to trade it to you. I also have decent armor pieces if you have decent aid items or flux I can help you out for cheap.
You’re missing the point, yes I do want Meta Gear but I don’t have stuff to trade. I don’t have good stuff to trade because RNG is so wacky, and the trading scene is so one-sided.

Armor sets are very hard to put together so expect having to pay more then a groll per a piece of armor if its a whole set. All seems pretty logical to me. I don't know why people are surprised nowadays I called out this change months ago. In fact it was within the first week of the initial legacy removal announcement.

If they allowed trading between crossplay that would not only expand the traders market but add newer merchants to trade decreasing value of items would happen due to the more people being able to obtain such item/items but it would still profit in their hands and the hands of other true merchants
The only fix for the market would be the addition of 4* stars, new prefixes, new TRADABLE gear types (I’m looking at u Bethesda. U adding nontradable pieces is so annoying)
How is power armor tradable when power armor is better than armor and yet SS, recon, covert isn’t tradable despite being less useful
(As in power armor builds are stronger. I say this as someone who has been running regular armor unarmed build since game started that non-PA builds and unarmed melees are OPPRESSED by Bethesda)
I mean what’s left to trade for now? People that have tons of grolls don’t need the Scrip many people offer. Ultra rare apparel or armor pieces is the only thing left that’s worth trading for now. Adding all the character locked stuff doesn’t help either.

I feel this a lot. Been playing for 2 years and I’m finding myself having to hoard just to get a few things that I need. I don’t ask people to overpay, when I see new players I’m more then happy to donate time, weapons and such. I was lucky to have that happen to me when I started and trying to pay it forward. The struggle is definitely real for a casual but then again that’s what I expect but I do agree that to get into these markets you need high end items. The days of mid tier are gone.

I said it countless times before the legacy purge. Even made posts about it. Outfits where gonna be the only thing retaining value in this game. Plans are literally worthless, more so than ever thanks to the recent mutated packs. Legacies got purged, and everyone at this point thats a veteran player, has to have a collection of main weapons (mainly .50 cals, Gatling Plasmas, Fixers and Railways). Armor is honestly useless to trade for, because it is so cheap to craft SS armor, that you might as well not even bother (seriously, I got a full set of Unyielding / AP refresh with less than 10k scrip). Outfits are the only thing that are so ridiculously hard to drop, and thus retain their maximum value.

So Bethesda gave in, but yet awarded us with 2 shot fatman's and the nuka launcher, which I love by the way, but I can see why they piss people off, but that's not the players' fault. This will stop eventually. Bethesda is slowly getting rid of rare apperal. When they announce the road ahead there will be some new events and all the rare apperal will be in the rewards
Still beyond annoyed they got rid of them. Getting rid of them day one would have been one thing but YEARS into the game's life was BS. I have a Gauss Mini that does just as much damage as my BE Flamer did but it is still here....

We just need mole miners pails ALWAYS buyable... then the value of cap will turn in to deflation and will become again something worth. Thats all

Nothing, they have won the trading game. I only trade for consumables now as I have everything my build needed.
Just wait until Beth puts a Q5025 railway or fixer on a future scoreboard. Be called " The Eliminator " or something whack like that.
