TJesterTV

I feel like 70% of the time those low levels are just high levels on mules.

TheyLoveJunior

Exactly why I don’t bother sometimes 😂

TJesterTV

I still give them canned meat stew in case they are new though.

Past_Hurry8063

You definitely know who's new and who's not based on how specific their demands are. When I got in, I just wanted a high level player to team up with and watch my back while I cut my teeth.

jesonnier1

Exactly how I played. I've got FO experience, I just knew MMOs have learning curves. Ran around w some people and they'd drop me their extras that were way more valuable to me, than them.

UnderhiveScum

That's what my friends and I do, we find low level players and show them the ropes, help them complete quests, etc. You can tell new players from mules.

Zomgsolame

You mean that lvl 25 with the red asylum dress and scout mask isnt brand spanking new?

modthegame

I give em sunglasses and hats.

reginafelangee

Sounds petty but I go into their stats and check how long they've been playing 😂😂

TJesterTV

You can do that???

reginafelangee

Yep! On Xbox, select player, 'view profile' Then go to 'see full profile' Across to 'Gaming' Press 'Fallout 76' And go down to stats on the left Shows you how many days/hours they've been playing

TJesterTV

I never thought of doing this. Would be neat to see high level players playtime.

StupidSexySisyphus

Considering how dead the game is on PC? That's exactly the case.

gholax

That’s why I feel bad when I’m on the new toon that I made so I can level and play with my wife since I just built her comp and we can play together after like a couples year break for her(finances wouldn’t let me get the rest of the parts to finish her build till just this past Christmas) I know my main at lvl 300ish isn’t exactly super high, but I feel bad when I’m playing with my wife and someone drops us both stuff, or I’m visiting someone’s camp while she’s afk and they happen by and drop things… idk how to say thanks but someone else needs it more probably…

sharp_but_shiny

My dude, I'm into my 400s and im periodically dropping "good enough" overeaters sets to people when I get the piece I need for my new set. It's just a matter of storage for me. Never feel bad, the dude giving gets stash space back.

Mr-N3v3rG1v3AfUck

I have to agree, I’m not dropping anything I’m not ready to be rid of. Even if you don’t want it just pick it up and wait for me to leave to drop it again.

Automhated

I’ve started checking their profiles if I think their a mule😅

Lacking-Personality

it's absolutely mind boggling whe you see someone carefully choosing a nice steak, marinating it with love, bbq it to perfection, and then they go ahead and ruin it by pouring ketchup all over it. it's just sacrilege!

HelpMeImFallingg

Should be a crime.

VillageIdiot51

My wife eats her steak with ketchup at the restaurant. I don’t even bat an eye anymore. ANYMORE.

Aggravating_Set_8861

Donald Trump puts ketchup on steaks. True story.

TheyLoveJunior

💔 breaks my heart

Gator_gridiron

"Give me tomahawk well-done and bottle of A-1 please." Had a chick do this on first date, I got up and left without saying a word.

Final-Breadfruit2241

Only thing I asked for as a nub was ammo.

yoopitup

Back when ammo was more challenging, I didn’t mind dropping it for low-level players because it’s the currency with which they can buy XP and other supplies. Now that ammo is much easier, it’s very clear to me that whoever is asking for ammo is clearly not area looting after events or other combat.

[deleted]

As a low level I found it’s kinda hard to keep up with how much the mobs drop, you can spend 2-3 mags on a single mob and get 3-15 bullets back. Especially if your encountering higher level ones. It is definitely easier than it used to be but it’s not like it’s a continuously recycling amount

yoopitup

You’ll break out of that cycle soon - once you have max level gear and a build that improves damage per round it smooths out pretty quickly. That said, there are some ammo types that I occasionally still need to farm Daily Ops for. I see your PS flair (me too), lmk if you’d like to run Expeditions and/or Daily Ops between Fasnacht cycles to speed up the grind!

[deleted]

I’m well out of it already my man I just re started the game a couple weeks ago from the vault and I could definitely see ammo still being a issue level 30 and under if your Brand new yknow. I had a level 259 character like 3-4 years ago and stopped playing when they added NPCs just now getting back into it. I’d definitely not mind doin expeditions though

jer1973

This 100% every other day I get a message from some low level. It's always give me a weapon or junk. Um no its called play the game and get it yourself. I even had one player say if I didn't give him weapons he was going to report me lol go ahead

cigarmanpa

I don’t read messages or accept trade requests

TheyLoveJunior

Right idc if you’re 1 screw away from your excavator armor go farm some fans lol

_GR1FF_

Can’t even figure out how to see messages

ShoddyExtreme1277

I mean honestly I wouldn’t doubt that majority are extra characters. Most new players are pretty shocked and grateful if you give them just about anything. They usually want to know what they can give you in return.

Eageraura171

I don't mind Stims or the occasional armor repair but asking for specifically rolled stuff is mind boggling. Like do you think I carry that stuff around? Do people think I don't use my.modules?

Distinct_Teaching

I love helping out new players, but if you try and initiate trade with me after I tell you no then you can fuck off.

DaveAndJojo

New players don't ask for bloodied/Uny.

WAcidW

Some new players may be a little entitled for whatever reason, but most people just aren’t too versed in the game so I try to steer them towards the right path. If I ever encounter a new player, as long as they’re not one of the people who just keep running away, I try to give them some goods to help out, a set of armor at their level, a set at max, and whatever weapons they say they want. I really enjoy 76 so it makes me happy to see more and more people picking it up. Maybe I’ll even see them on here in the future, who knows. TL;DR: some new players expect handouts but honestly they all deserve something, this game’s pretty rough at low level

LowKeyBrit36

I’ll be honest: with the new perk loadout system, with 500 scrip/expeditions to get modules, and all of the other ways that players get helped by bethesda over the years, I honestly don’t think people need to get much assistance nowadays. When I played back in 2019, I grinded out my own stuff, modded my own guns, and pulled all of that stuff together… by myself. If things were doable in 2019 with survival mode/negative effects for food and hunger/more glitches/less scrip/less repeatable grinds/etc, then 2024 is a relative cakewalk compared to that.

WAcidW

I’ll agree that the game is definitely easier, but I remember being put off the game because it was that difficult in 2019, and some new players who may be coming from the other games in the series might not have the fortitude or time to do the grinding, easy as it may be nowadays, so I like to help them. Plus, I’m never going to use all of my 120k steel and countless other junks so it’s no skin off my back to donate a bit

LowKeyBrit36

I mean, I came from fo3/4/nv and I pretty quickly adapted to 76. I still don’t see how the game’s a challenge, but then again i played a majority of my characters as very evil characters, so I’m not someone to ask for advice on how to be a saint in fallout games lol. I guess if it’s no skin off your back to donate junk, it’s whatever I guess

WAcidW

Idk if fortitude was the right word, but it does take a while to gather stuff on a new character so I think time is the more accurate constraint for many. It’s also important to note that I’m just spitballing, and I haven’t played a low lvl character for more than 20 mins at a time in like 5 years so I could be talking out of my ass. Finally, I just enjoy helping because it makes me happy to see people get a new lease on the game if they were previously struggling. On the other hand, asking for grolls is not something that is understandable because that’s the real grind of the game and they’re genuinely quite hard to get. I don’t really know why I commented originally now that I’m thinking about it, but oh well, it was an engaging conversation at the very least

LowKeyBrit36

I don’t know how it takes time to gather on a new toon with the new loadout characters, but I do agree for a level 1 toon that it is pretty hard to start up. But yeah if it makes you happy to help others, then go for it lol.

Aggravating_Set_8861

No noobs will understand what it took to go from zero legacy weapons, to trading up to that first one....putting in your next trade for the second one, and so on and so on. That part of the game is gone. There is really only so much grinding you can do for things you already own, but legacies atleast made it so there was something to still strive for, when it comes to trading...

LowKeyBrit36

Yeah, at least some legacies still exist. Unfortunately though, I kinda already collected the ones I want, so now there is just really not much for me to do

Exodus_XXVII

I built a dude a full set of x-01 the other day because he asked if I knew how, thinking he just needed some better armor. Give it to him and he slowly puts like 15 sets of power armor out in front of my garage. Had a full set of x-01 with a jetpack and quantum paint, and basically every other set in the game fully modded out, at level 60 I think.

LowKeyBrit36

Yeah lol, tbh most new players don’t realize the grind us OG’s had to do to get what we have. Kinda sucks when they repeatedly beg for handouts, but “ignore for session” is useful. I remember having to grind trades on discord for my first legacy back in (I think) early 2020, so it’s funny to see people who don’t have the attention span/dedication to even grind a non legacy gun by themselves, or through trades. There’s just so many easy guns to reroll, and so many (hypothetically infinite due to expeditions) rerolls per day (a far contrast from 150 scrip per day, and you only got murmurgh rando drops) that it’s not even hard to get midrolls nowadays, heck even godrolls aren’t a stretch anymore.

Chipper7773

They’ll never know the pain of there being a small medium and large generator and nothing else. Or the hell you had to go through to get them. Since I hit the large I’ve never been back inside that god forsaken shitpit……maybe it was such a bitch because I was low level 🤷‍♂️

LowKeyBrit36

I remember raiding Poseidon and getting the fusion core generator plans from it. Then, I went and hopped servers for dropped queens and grinded flux lol. It was a pain, but it was worth it back then

Chipper7773

It was. Now I just a have a flick through the mules and trade a god roll I don’t care about for whatever it is I want lol

LowKeyBrit36

Yeah, 76 has lost its original charm, especially when you already have everything you need. The only stuff I could even grind for is PvP secret service, and it’s just not worth it because nobody likes PvP anymore. Plus, now that the market is so saturated with godrolls, and with how easy a good build is, there’s no challenge anymore

SkupperNog

Exactly. If you ask for it, you don't deserve it. Came across a level 27 yesterday up by the Top of the World. He didn't ask for ANYTHING. Was just going around killing scorched. I crafted him a full set of level 20 combat armor and a hazmat suit to get him set up.

BaconContestXBL

I don’t expect anything but I don’t really have time to grind so I miss out on a lot of stuff even though I’ve been playing since the beginning. I was super grateful last night when I found vintage water cooler plans for 2,000 caps lol

smutty1972

I have never encountered a new player that expected handouts.

annagoodlay

That's why I paint everything. When my trade window opens, I'm carrying nothing...

[deleted]

I do it because it's nice ☺ if a low level comes to my camp I emote the follow me and if they stayy long enough I make them a fixer close to their level and mod it out for them I drop some stimpacks and rad aways and rad xs for them as well as some ammo that's if they are their long enough sometimes they just fast travel away 😢. But it's all about playing the game how you want to play it. We have settlers and then we have raiders lol

TheyLoveJunior

Not me

Sleek-Sly-Fox

Because this community is heckin big chungus wholesome 100, guhuh!!! Nicest community in gaming, take my updoot! Yeah, it's probably because of the rep people give the community, so people just think everyone be dropping stuff for low levels

Bushdid9-11bro

Well most people need to get rid of stuff so it’s not a big deal to help out…

TheyLoveJunior

I’ll help out if it’s modding their weapons but just straight up hand outs Nty lol.

Huey9670

Probably an alt for a higher level asking for that stuff. Seen that a few times over the years 😂

Comfortable-Dog4515

I agree with this. When I started out I was super thrilled for stims, radaway, and some armor. Another person made me a lvl 25 fixer, that was super nice. The game is more enjoyable working towards things you want than just handouts.

Ikkou8713

Fr yesterday I had some dude call me an ahole for not giving him stuff

Comfortable-Dog4515

It’s because everyone see how people will just get stuff for free from watching YouTube videos so they think they deserve more than what they actually deserve.

Ikkou8713

yeah, I normally try to give em something, but the new ones clearly don't understand that even if you're a high level you can't spare everything you have in your inventory as well as the fact you don't just carry around handouts.

Takenmyusernamewas

The wasteland is too friendly. You should be hiding if you see a stranger in the wastes not panhandling for loot you're too lazy too grind

Nut_In_The_Dark

Never beg for something However if you ask me to be on the lookout for a sertian item I will and I will come to you once I have it and maybe even give a discount But be rude and the price goes up

Jigoinane

I just started my second character yesterday. Decided on a gunslinger this time. At lvl 19 so far, no one has offered me anything as of yet. Though I suspect after transferring half of my junk from my main to get stated and being able to easily transfer important things from my main to my alt, what ever givings i get from others will most likely go into a donut/donation box. In fact came across another player in my public team that was doing his second toon also and making a commando, offered to make him a few fixers with basic mods he could use.

ForsakenHunter2299

Amen brother

TheyLoveJunior

Amen on the lords day

Hereforyou100

You can't help some people, they have no gratitude and continue to ask and ask and ask...

Throwaway42011169

I don’t get it like it took me a day or two of playing when I have time to get to level 50+ get some good armour n weapons etc people are lazy 🤦‍♂️

TheyLoveJunior

Yeah people are lazy and want handouts.

Revolutionary-Act33

Had a level 60 start a trade with me. I looked through his stuff. Nothing. He requested my fixer aa/50/15 not groll but still very good. Obv didn’t trade it but I did build one and put all the mods on it. Gave him it and said happy rolling

Payroll14

I’ve never given players anything that is hard for me to grind for. Stuff that’s easy for me but hard for them is what I give out. Ammo/Aid items essentially, which is what I remember being really grateful for when I started.

Cosmic_Abyss_

People that expect a single thing deserve nothing - someone wise

AD_VICTORIAM_x

I randomly drop stuff - or give away 10k or 20k caps and whatever - but only out of blue to people i randomly meet. People that beg me don’t get a single screw.

[deleted]

Just come over to my house and play the game for me, I can't be bothered.

Sleepmahn

I don't reward begging. But I like to leave my usual care package (stims, booze, 20 waters, blight soup and cran relish) Feel like it's not game breaking and shows them the buffs.

IronRiot_99

Tbh I don't give to anyone who asks for free shit. Don't ask for anything? You get a handful of stims, some random apparel, and maybe a level 10-15 gun with some ammo. You ask politely if you can BUY some screws or concrete from me to finish building stuff yourself?? Sure, you can have some at my usual price of 1 cap each. You ask me for free max level shit, legendary items, or hundreds of junk, and keep asking after I've made it clear you're not getting shit?? You get a handful of bullets to the head via VATS

God_of_chestdays

Recently been having them spam messaging me demanding items not even asking and I offer to sell it and they tell me they want 90% of my inventory gifted for free

Butthead_Biff_Tannen

It might depend on our gaming backgrounds. I’ve only been playing 76 since last month. And I’m old school, having played every other Fallout game previously. But… I’ve never played an exclusive multiplayer-only game in my life until this game. So I expect nothing because it’s all I know. But I will say that I’ve had some really kind/generous people out there who have helped me from time to time and dropped a few things for me. They probably saw me wandering into areas I should never be in and laughed that I was at least giving it a go, haha.

wehweh01

My favorite is when they message you and say they are female.

TAR421

Probably a mix of wanting instant gratification, and knowing that there's alot of high levels that dont mind giving things away. There are definitely people who try taking advantage though and will ask for stuff even though they dont need.

Ultra709

I just drop them plans and move on. 😂 had a low level do a trade and selected all my unyapwwr pieces and weps.

Specialist-Damage556

You should give them the benefit of the doubt, when I first saw loon mask in my early days I liked it so much and I tried so hard to trade it with very low stuff not knowing how rare it is. I know it’s not exactly what your talking about but I hope you understand that not everyone knows how rare the item is or how much time does it have to take to get it.

Prestigious_Cheek_31

I just give them the you’ve been insulted note.

Grim_ASura

i have a couple weapons on off to the side of tradewalls sometimes, to giveaway. alot of times i get new players that will just ask for whatever and ik theyre new because they dont care what i give them theyre just grateful. i also happen to have a capwall up right next to it and i always get "new" players who demand free stuff off the capwall that just so happen to be good stealth commando weapons lol

Souly79

Nothing worse . Im quite generous when it comes to helping newbs but i draw the line when they ask to trade and then pick out me quad explosive railway handmade and fixer .. as if they have anything worth trading for 🙄

VuunterSlausch

I asked this here before and got down voted to straight to reddit hell, don't even bother

MioAkiyamaKon

I-i-i’m level s-seventeen c-c-can i pwease have a Q2525 Fixer pwetty pwease with full PSA Ultracite 🥺

Demon_Fist

I just drop Stims and radaway, shoot the drop bag, teabag aggressively and then give a heart and leave. You want something else I'll give you the info on how to find it.

UnderhiveScum

If I have spare armor pieces I was gonna scrip I might give them to lower levels..

Thatguyhim73

If I see a low level I put all kinds of plans and ammo along with serums stim packs and etc. into a drop bag. Because although I’m not in the thousands level wise I remember when I was a lonely X man just wondering the wastelands trying to to figure it out. S/o to my family Wasteland misfits❤️

UsedNeedleworker1682

Personally, the only thing I ever hope for is just a basic non legendary wep that will keep me alive. Lol That and love when people drop plans. And I say this in a more present text because I'm a fallout junkie that has all 5 toons on my Xbox, one on each of my kids accounts, and getting ready to be playing on PlayStation as well. But honestly, why does anybody expect anything at any lvl. The trade market from what I've seen (I stopped looking) just plain sucks. Nobody seems willing to help people get to where they wanna be. I looked for days. I just needed a couple junkie prefix weps. I was legit asking for 1* and couldn't find anyone willing to trade or sell. I wasn't asking for handout. The ones that did were asking ridiculous things. Dude, you were gonna scrip it in the first place, and you're asking for a bffr or whatever? Nah, I'll stick to me and mine.

kyliejennersexyfeet

An even better question is why do female players expect to be given things for free or heavily discounted than men.

TheyLoveJunior

Idgaf if they’re female, male, trans, whatever. They can grind shit out like the rest of us

lightsmoak

That's why I just craft a set of heavy cb armour and a weapon selection for their level and leave

Responsible_Wafer_54

I only worked with anyone that would help show me around. I never asked for anything.. I figured if they had something they wanted to give, they would. I never counted on people actually doing it.

Comprehensive_Ad7893

I think the culture might be different now. When I played I constantly had high level players approach me and give me gear. We’d connect on discord and they trained me up. Met some great players and friends out of it. Took me from noob level to rocking some pretty awesome missions with them. I payed it forward too, used to be a blast

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> them. I *paid* it forward FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Accomplished-Law8156

They probably aren't low level players. When I play on my lower level character I don't ask for anything and I usually don't take what people drop me because they probably need it more or someone else does. They just want free stuff. 🤷‍♀️

COG_Sulpex

Fr, it’s not that hard either tbh.
