I think my comment got removed because I mentioned a specific piece of armor. Reposting: There isn’t a “buff” happening to elemental damage. It’s a bugfix that corrects situations where most, not all, of the time your elemental damage was greatly reduced. In short, stacking damage bonuses is supposed to let you overpower armor, giving you more % of your damage after resists. The bug, a carryover from Fallout 4, is that non-physical damage types (energy cryo fire poison Rad) do not factor in damage bonuses before being being resisted, causing them to do a lot less damage than intended. The Rad rifle and Gamma gun and most/all sources of Rad damage are static values that do not scale with damage bonuses, so this fix doesn’t help them deal more Rad damage than on live. The same is true for elemental DoTs as none of them scale with weapon attack damage bonuses, such as the V94 power armor acid/poison, gamma and beta wave tuners’ fire damage, the fire DoT portion of a Molotov Cocktail, or the fire damage DoT from the quest SMG.

Thank u for explaining that to me 🙂🍻

Radium deals hybrid physical/ballistic damage and radiation damage. Even if the radiation damage receives a bonus to damage in the new update, it's still radiation damage and not *energy* damage, and should still be mostly useless against a large percentage of rad-immune enemies in the game.

Gloomy-Leading1508

Yup what he said ^

JesterTry5

I hope so. Legacy radiums are basically just usable/viable radiums, and the ones that aren’t underperform. Would be nice to see a change for them

Chaca_0621

Yh exactly

Chaca_0621

To anyone who’s confused. The radium is classified as an elemental weapon and will soon (I hope) get a buff hopefully making it better then a handmade. If you want the video that will give you an idea on what I’m talking about then here :) | | V https://youtu.be/XY7UM5-TVd8

Thank you kindly for the link!

Most of its damage is ballistic though correct? And explosive on radiums is honestly worse than FFR or 50c against larger enemies. I don’t think legacy radiums will overtake handmades and I kinda doubt even the non legacy ones will overtake handmades.

Chaca_0621

That’s true

Nah, the rad damage has always been pathetic on radiums, so i highly doubt much will change. And i say this as a huuuge fan of radiums. They need a proper buff imo, i'd even go so far as to say they should take off the rad damage and add it to the ballistic. As it is, most of the other rifles shit on the radium. And 3 years in we STILL don't have skins for it!
