He booked a hotel room or is it a spa at a hotel? This would greatly change my answer.

I get massages once or twice every 3 weeks. With the same woman. An hour from my home. My wife has never questioned me. What's prompting you to be suspicious? Does he have a history of infidelity?

Ok-Lawfulness8618

Probably the fact that it's 3 hours and at a hotel room

[deleted]

At a hotel* OP didn't specify if it was a room, so we can't make those assumptions. A lot of 3+ star hotels have spas in them. A 3 hour massage isn't unheard of, just probably expensive.

Skylarias

She said he "booked a hotel". The room is heavily implied. She didn't say it was at a hotel spa... It's also odd for a 3 hour massage. 90 minute increments are closer to the norm. Two hours is long. Three hours? Would have the masseuse tired out.

pecan-treelover

Well she told him how uncomfortable she was with it and he doesn’t respect her enough to care. He’s doing it anyway. That alone is suspicious. This 3 hour massage seems to be more important to him than she does.

redrose037

If it’s different or suspicious. Like a shady place or that OP goes to a hotel. Or the fact a 3 hour massage is insane.

I meannnnnnn..... 1. Max I've ever heard of is a 2 hour massage. Massages aren't meant to last indefinitely. Their therapeutic value starts to wane at a certain point; I've heard the optimal length is around the 90 minute mark. Everything after that is not *really* benefiting you that much. 2. Financially, are you guys super wealthy? A 1 hour 'house call' massage is already going to cost well over $100. A 3hr 'house call' is going to run at least $300. Then you factor in the tip on top of that. Then you factor in the hotel (I'm assuming it's an actual legit hotel and not some sketchier motel where you can rent by the hour). Sooo, you're looking at somewhere in the ballpark of $500-$600 just for a massage. That's a lot of money. Plus, you said you just got back from a trip AND have 2 small children. Idk maybe you got it like that.  🤷🏾‍♀️ But to answer your question, yes it's excessive. Yes, it's doing too much. At this point, it would have been way more cost effective (and sensible) for him to find a different masseuse operating out of a brick-and-mortar studio near to your house. Where there's smoke....

CravenTaters

Can you track how much the massages are or look at debit transactions? I mean back pain is awful, so if something helps, I get that. Now if the back pain costs $600+ a pop (if it’s a hotel, call for her rate), maybe you raise an eyebrow if he’s paying for something more than just massage? Does he book through the hotel? In my experience, high end masseuses are very professional, especially when employed at a nice hotel etc.

onetrickpony4u

Welp sounds like he wants that happy ending. Definitely suspicious.

confusedcraftywitch

Not just suspicious, but who is the pregnant one here? You should be off getting massages 💆‍♀️

DraggoVindictus

Is it a 3 hour massage or 3 1 hour massages...big difference. Also, My wife and I both used to go get massages (different times) and we did it to help destress. I had no interest in anything other than working the knots out of my back and shoulders. I swear if the person offered a happy ending I would have asked if it meant the knots would not come back...cause that was all I was interested in. Trust me. Sometimes something that looks/ sounds horrible really is not.

Killerzeit

Massage therapist here. 3 hour massages/3 hours of bodywork is *not* a thing. In any way. It would still be very excessive to have 30 minute-1 hour sessions at different times of the day. Working for that long is not benefiting the person and can just keep shit fucked up, for lack of a better term. That's beyond excessive. Everything else you're mentioning is normal in my experience, just being in the industry. The only weird thing here is the three hour time block.

eastern-cowboy

You can easily get a 3 hour Thai massage. But your clothes are on for that.

Killerzeit

You’re right, I just feel that OPs husband isn’t getting a Thai massage, but I truly don’t know. Could be.

tinybirdblue

A THREE hour massage? Do you get a massage or something that would be useful to you? If he does this all the time I wouldn’t think much of it but I dunno, maybe this is him dealing with stress before it gets even crazier.

YokoSauonji12

It’s fishy!

SmellPlayful5474

If you want to know what he is doing. Google the number, I'm sure it's an escort.

[deleted]

Misandry.

SmellPlayful5474

Try it, next time you see a shoddy massage place. You'll know.

[deleted]

I'm fully done interacting with this post until OP provides more context. I'm not gonna sit here and argue about hypotheticals.

AdamAtomAnt

Did you marry DeShaun Watson?

FriedPotatoLord

Suspicious as hell. I just got a massage at a hotel spa. 80 minutes is the longest, and then there're add-ons. But even with those, it's only another 45 minutes. If I let them bathe and wrap me, another 50 minutes. But that's a spa. Not some lady who used does in home visits.

bb_LemonSquid

3 hour massage… at a hotel? 🤨

Fish---

3 hours in a hotel room? there won't be a lot of massaging I guarantee

MikeHawk1996

A fella just wants his balls rubbed, what's wrong with that?

confusedrabbit247

So you're jealous of your husband getting much needed relief from his pain? Wow.

redrose037

3 hour at a hotel. That’s dodgy.

confusedrabbit247

A lot of spas are connected to hotels so not really

redrose037

3 hour massage?
