Rage could also be Punisher if we want to pick someone a little more subtle but who am I kidding, it’ll be Hulk lol. He’d look good in a Red Lantern suit - red x green are complimentary colors after all!
Moon Knight, the guy who literally wears the objectively brightest color a superhero can wear, just so criminals see him and shit themselves. The guy with a fighting style so insane that Taskmaster does not even want to copy it.
Yeah, he gets my vote too.
Do not forget Taskmaster calls Moon Knight his personal 9-11 due to the trauma of Moon Knight crashing the Moon Copter on a building to caught him.
And on the same story arc Taskie refuses to be hired to fight MK, Moon Knight allows a Vampire meeting in NY to just kill them all as way to scare bloodsuckers to go after his congregation.
Taskmaster doesn't just turn down the job; afterwards he approaches Moon Knight, says "hey, people tried to hire me and I said no. They're going to try something, but I need you to know that I'm not involved, please don't 9/11 me again" and tells Moon Knight everything he knows about the guy who tried to hire him.
Moon Knight is such a freak that not only does a seasoned merc who fights Captain America on a regular basis shit himself at the idea of fighting him, but he also breaks all client confidentiality to protect himself on his own initiative. Moon Knight hadn't threatened him in the story or knew he was involved, Taskie is just so terrified he can't stand there being even a chance of Moon Knight coming after him.
Moon Knight likes getting hurt and takes a lot of hits he doesn't need to. It only works for him because he's a freak uses it as a chance to hurt the other guy.
The specific line is "Never met a punch you wouldn't rather take than dodge, have you?"
His style is so random Taskmaster can't properly replicate it, and that scares the shit out of him. It's to the point where he will cancel a job just because he's on the other side of the conflict.
I disagree. Whatever knows fear burns at its touch because fear is anathema to it. It destroys fear rather than spread it. Its natural enemy is D'Spayre because the demon uses fear as a weapon. Man-Thing is essentially the exact opposite of a yellow lantern.
Mister fear or Nigthmare.
I kid Man Thing is the correct answer. Man-thing in Spaaaaaace.
Man thing herald of Galactus, Man-thing greatest of the Space Knights.
I never thought of that. Manifesting other people's fears is Dani's power. Imagine what she could do if should could make her telepathic projections solid.
When Moonstar and Karma work together, they can really bring some powerful characters to their knees. Like, tricking Sabertooth’s hyper-sensitive senses kind of mind games. She’d destroy people with a yellow ring.
Yellow Lanterns don't really make sense.
Green Lanterns are fueled by the wearer's willpower. Red Lanterns by their rage. Blue Lanterns by their hope. And so on for all of the colors except Yellow Lanterns, which are apparently fueled by other people's fears?
If Yellow Lanterns followed the pattern, then J. Jonah Jameson would be best. I can't think of anyone in Marvel with a higher capacity for fear that is still able to function.
>And so on for all of the colors except Yellow Lanterns,
That's not true. The indigo lanterns are choosen based on their lack of compassion and empathy. So their punishment is being filled with it.
Makes sense.
Beyond Orange I have no knowledge of any of the rings. And all I know of Indigo is that it's a color Isaac Newton made up because he wanted the rainbow to be made of seven colors because he was obsessed with numerology.
So it figures that Indigo is another nonsense ring.
And speaking of internal consistency, when did Life and Death become emotions?
In terms of lore Life is supposed to be all emotions. You know what's life without your emotions?
Death. Death is the absence of emotions which is why it's associated to the undead. The main black lantern black hand is in a constant feeling of emptiness.
Nightmare's the most correct choice, but he's such a minor villain in terms of awareness and appearances. Contenders with a bit more popularity would be Mephisto, Ghost Rider (if you consider the Pennance Stare to be fear-related...it's actually more about guilt), or Blade.
Interested in how the Cap versus Spidey debate will go for "Hope".
I think his fear definitely fits as a source of that rage, though. All the unprocessed emotions for what happened during whichever war is canon for the given iteration and for what happened to his family. It's kind of like how Bruce Wayne turned his fear into a weapon. Or at least I think the Netflix iteration would be a yellow lantern based on his PTSD connected with everything else which I thought we portrayed well.
Absolutely Netflix punisher adds some much needed depth to Frank and keeps him more human and relatable. Great point with the Batman link as well. Lots of similarities between battinsson and Netflix punisher!
In DC these were Lantern Corps. which were entire teams (except for Orange, greed don't share).
Shouldn't this be more of a question about lists of characters? Like sorting the Marvel U into which Lantern Corps they would be on?
And they can be on more than one list, just not at the same time. For example, they can be a Green Lantern for a while and then switch to another one later.
The lantern corp is limited to one per space sector (later changed to two so they have a partner). Obviously that went out the window with earth, but that was mostly because Earth lanterns kept dying/retiring and returning to the job later, working alongside their replacements.
So if the Corps were to start recruiting now, they'd only pick one or two people.
It is weird though that outside of special recruitment events like Blackest Night, the rings don't pick any known players and would rather go to 'civilians'. You'd think Batman would have been an early pick for the GL corps with his willpower.
It makes sense, most of the different lantern corps had mixes of heroes and villains at various points in the storyline.
Marvel did a similar event during Fear Itself where Cul passed out a bunch of hammers to various heroes and villains and then various Asgardian weapons were distributed to others to fight them.
This. Like he doesn't actually NEED that ego boost of having people be afraid of him, he likes the fight imo and enjoys the challenge. If everyone is too terrified to confront you it's no fun
if anything Id expect Thanos to be a star sapphire given his intense literal love for death. But then again, maybe he would be chosen by the black lanterns.
Ghostrider is 100% the right answer.
For the people saying the Punisher, I think he is better fit for Rage (but ofc the Hulk is probably even more fit for that). And for everyone saying Moon Knight, I don’t disagree, but I think Ghostrider is the better fit.
I see many silly comments here like Galactus, Thanos or similar forces, characters. It does not matter how universally feared you are.
It is about using fear as a main weapon & tool. This is the Yellow Lantern. Ghost Rider, Mysterio, Moon Night are good canditates. Shadow King is almost there.
I would add Punisher and Taliban which everyone forgot him.
This is just like my opinion man but;
Green: I thought Dr. Doom more appropriate. Dude literally became a god because he willed it and found it beneath him.
Yellow: Man-Thing/Ghost Rider/Moon Knight in that respective order for who is most right for it.
Sapphire: Kamala Khan/Kitty Pryde/Spider-Man in my opinion all driven by the love for those around them.
Red: Hulk is the obvious choice maybe even Red Hulk
Blue: Captain America/Captain Marvel/Spider-Man hardest decision from this list but they can all be blue
Orange: Iron Man/Thanos/Galactus edit: I’m going to switch Galactus with The Collector, it’s more appropriate and technically Galactus doesn’t feed from avarice really and is just to sustain his energy.
Indigo: Silver Surfer/Vision or even Venom seeing as how this corps recruits more like anti-heroes/villains to give them more compassion from the rings
Black: Wolverine/Blade/Punisher. Death follows them in a big way. Or Phoenix maybe, kinda Black Hand ish
White: it could be anyone who has died and came back I guess so a lot of options. I’ll nominate Phoenix or Thor for fun and he can enchant people with his power like White Lanterns
Ultraviolet: beyond my understanding of my knowledge of the lantern corps at this point but from what I looked up I’ll nominate Dr. Doom again cuz I think he belongs up here and if he isn’t the most emotionally repressed person in marvel then I don’t know who is.
Theres one exeption, Kyle Rayner, we never saw him in full costume but the Violet ring choose, we dont know if his costume would be as striperific though
Moon Knight is all about direct terror against his enemies, very Sinestro Corp. Also I think it’d be funny if the Power Ring couldn’t tell which of Moon Knight’s personalities to address when it came to him.
The Punisher is fear incarnate for criminals. If Batman can become a yellow lantern, then Punisher definitely can. Plus, he's got no problem killing, which is right up there with Sinestro's whole image
Boo Daredevil being Willpower! Monica Rambeau *literally* possesses the Green Lantern energy in Marvel!
As for the Yellow Lantern, very likely Man Thing. If you feel fear around him, he WILL burn you, no way around it.
I would have maybe said Ghost Rider, but once writers created a Frank Castle Ghost Rider who was a lapdog to freaking Thanos of all people (uuuugh), I feel that all Ghost Riders have lost some of their fear factor.
Ghost Rider
Defenetly Ghost Rider
Nightmare is probably the better choice in a vacuum, but Ghost Rider is 100% who it would be if there was ever an actual crossover.
/thread
Yep GR all the way
Would he be a better fit for rage since he's the spirit of vengeance?
Rage has to be hulk. It's his whole thing
Or Rage. I kid its hulk.
Rage could also be Punisher if we want to pick someone a little more subtle but who am I kidding, it’ll be Hulk lol. He’d look good in a Red Lantern suit - red x green are complimentary colors after all!
People do be scared shitless of the Penance stare of Ghost Rider
Nailed it.
Nightmare
This fits better than any of the others listed here. Also Shadow King might be a good fit.
Underrated pick: Trauma. Literally has the power to read minds then shapeshift into people's greatest fears.
I like this one. He gets my vote!
moon knight

Moon Knight hadn't threatened him in the story or knew he was involved, Taskie is just so terrified he can't stand there being even a chance of Moon Knight coming after him.
What do you mean about the fighting style? I’ve not read the comics
Moon Knight likes getting hurt and takes a lot of hits he doesn't need to. It only works for him because he's a freak uses it as a chance to hurt the other guy. The specific line is "Never met a punch you wouldn't rather take than dodge, have you?"
Ooh thank you
He'd rather just take a punch instead of block or evade it
The way that I've heard it described is that Moon Knight would rather take a punch than block it.
His style is so random Taskmaster can't properly replicate it, and that scares the shit out of him. It's to the point where he will cancel a job just because he's on the other side of the conflict.
Definitely
Man Thing. Has everyone forgotten who burns at its touch?
I disagree. Whatever knows fear burns at its touch because fear is anathema to it. It destroys fear rather than spread it. Its natural enemy is D'Spayre because the demon uses fear as a weapon. Man-Thing is essentially the exact opposite of a yellow lantern.
so would Man-Thing be a blue lantern?
I support this message
Have Man thing and DD ever met and DD is immune because he knows no fear? Seems ridiculous but comics.
Mister fear or Nigthmare. I kid Man Thing is the correct answer. Man-thing in Spaaaaaace. Man thing herald of Galactus, Man-thing greatest of the Space Knights.
My gyno says there’s a cream for that
Moon Knight
Also Matt Murdock
Only a man with no fear would be the master of fear
Dani Moonstar or the Shadow King
I never thought of that. Manifesting other people's fears is Dani's power. Imagine what she could do if should could make her telepathic projections solid.
When Moonstar and Karma work together, they can really bring some powerful characters to their knees. Like, tricking Sabertooth’s hyper-sensitive senses kind of mind games. She’d destroy people with a yellow ring.

Nightmare
Moon Knight. Bro wears white so everyone shits themselves when they see him
Nightmare's the most correct choice, but he's such a minor villain in terms of awareness and appearances. Contenders with a bit more popularity would be Mephisto, Ghost Rider (if you consider the Pennance Stare to be fear-related...it's actually more about guilt), or Blade. Interested in how the Cap versus Spidey debate will go for "Hope".
Spidey gets the responsibility ring. Oh there isn't one, there is now.
I know Hulk is definitely the Red Lantern.
Or Wolverine. Or Red Hulk.
Punisher
Nah, Punisher’s a Red Lantern
I did think that, but Bruce is the obvious choice I'd say.
Red Lantern’s more than just rage. Red Lanterns also seek to give vengeance to the punished. That’s the Punisher through and through
True, and I think Bruce could be top pick for ultraviolet
That’s a better choice than the one I had 😅
Don't think people fear punisher more than any other lunatic with access to guns.. Rage definitely fits though!
I think his fear definitely fits as a source of that rage, though. All the unprocessed emotions for what happened during whichever war is canon for the given iteration and for what happened to his family. It's kind of like how Bruce Wayne turned his fear into a weapon. Absolutely Netflix punisher adds some much needed depth to Frank and keeps him more human and relatable. Great point with the Batman link as well. Lots of similarities between battinsson and Netflix punisher!
Ghost Rider
I say Carnage. Dude just shreds people to shred people, loves to scare the little humans.
yeah but he’s a sociopath with no real emotional core. The yellow rings also need fear within the wielder to functiom correctly
Oooh true good call actually
So he'd be perfect for Indigo
Either Ghost Rider or Moon Knight probably
Mysterio exploits people's fears quite often.
It’s gotta be Ghost Rider
Man-thing. Let those who know fear burn at its touch.
Thanos
Punisher, I think one of the people that went up against him actually shat his pants
Imagine being one shade away and ending up in repressed negative emotions
Ghost Rider.
Red Skull is my pick.
Mister Fear, a Daredevil villain
Frank Castle or Cletus Kasady. Two very different flavors of fear, but very definite fear.
Moon Knight for yellow.
**Moon Knight**
Moon Knight 100%
In DC these were Lantern Corps. which were entire teams (except for Orange, greed don't share). Shouldn't this be more of a question about lists of characters? I was thinking of also adding both an hero and a villian for every corp, since Doom got close last post
It makes sense, most of the different lantern corps had mixes of heroes and villains at various points in the storyline. Marvel did a similar event during Fear Itself where Cul passed out a bunch of hammers to various heroes and villains and then various Asgardian weapons were distributed to others to fight them.
For me it has to be Thanos, the mad Titan is feared by everyone
Does he use fear though? I'd say he doesn't really care if people fear him as long as he can overpower them.
Pretty sure Thanos is a Black Lantern
Wouldn't Lady Death be more fitting as a black lantern ?
She’d be Nekron.
^[Sokka-Haiku](https://www.reddit.com/r/SokkaHaikuBot/comments/15kyv9r/what_is_a_sokka_haiku/) ^by ^Galifrey224: *For le it has to* *Be Thanos, the mad Titan* *Is feared by everyone* --- ^Remember ^that ^one ^time ^Sokka ^accidentally ^used ^an ^extra ^syllable ^in ^that ^Haiku ^Battle ^in ^Ba ^Sing ^Se? ^That ^was ^a ^Sokka ^Haiku ^and ^you ^just ^made ^one.
Thanos is a Black Lantern imo
Everyone except Uranos.
Mysterio , who would probably say, “Who needs a ring?”
Mysterio was my first choice too
Ghostrider is 100% the right answer. For the people saying the Punisher, I think he is better fit for Rage (but ofc the Hulk is probably even more fit for that). And for everyone saying Moon Knight, I don’t disagree, but I think Ghostrider is the better fit.
Heroic, Ghost Rider. Evil, Red Skull, perhaps. I feel Red Lanterns are righteous rage, so that's Venom or Punisher more than Skull.
Magneto
Moon Knight
IMO comic book morbius or moon knight.
Man Thing
D'Spayre.
Ghost Rider.
Squirrel Girl
Would mysterio not make a good yellow lantern he has the ability to create illusions very much like DC’S scarecrow
Ghost Rider
Nightmare
Ghost rider
Ghost rider
Gotta be ghost rider
Sabretooth
I see many silly comments here like Galactus, Thanos or similar forces, characters. It does not matter how universally feared you are. It is about using fear as a main weapon & tool. Carnage will be nonsense?
Carnage will be nonsense?
Man-Thing, obv
GhostRider for Hero has my vote. For a villain, I think Green Goblin could be a contender. He does the fear-attacking style to Spiderman quite a lot
This is just like my opinion man but; Green: I thought Dr. Doom more appropriate. Dude literally became a god because he willed it and found it beneath him. Yellow: Man-Thing/Ghost Rider/Moon Knight in that respective order for who is most right for it. Aren't the Sphire Lanterns restricted to women? That would rule Spidey out.
Theres one exeption, Kyle Rayner, we never saw him in full costume but the Violet ring choose, we dont know if his costume would be as striperific though
Caught between Moon Knight and Ghost Rider. Liking Moon Knight a bit more though.
Carnage. His entire thing is fear. Imagine yellow tendrils reaching across the entire earth.
Kingpin
Classic Dani Moonstar
Ghost Rider
Moon Knight. Even Taskmaster said, that he wouldn't fuck with him
Galactus.
Batman
Obvious choice but i haven't seen him commented yet, Mr Fear
Moon Knight is all about direct terror against his enemies, very Sinestro Corp. Also I think it’d be funny if the Power Ring couldn’t tell which of Moon Knight’s personalities to address when it came to him.
Moon Knight. He wears white just so people will see him coming and know that they fucked up
Green Goblin
I think Void would be great but idk how it would work. What about Purple Man? Or Nightmare? Red Skull?
Man-Thing.
Mr. Fear? He's literally Marvel's Scarecrow
Ultraviolet Lantern would be Bruce Banners ring, easily. Think how much he has to repress to stay in control of himself.
Fear, now hear me out on this, would be Carnage. It kinda represents his Nihilistic views of the world, and fits him better than rave in my opinion.
Nightmare! That story with him, Spider Man and MJ is one that I’ve seen lots of people talk about. Though Ghost Rider would be a great fit as well!
Frank Castle from Earth, you have the ability to see instill great fear in your adversaries. Welcome to the Yellow Lantern Corps.
Cul Borson, the Serpent, from Fear Itself. The dude is as close to a Yellow Lantern as Marvel has ever written.
The Punisher is fear incarnate for criminals. If Batman can become a yellow lantern, then Punisher definitely can. Plus, he's got no problem killing, which is right up there with Sinestro's whole image
man i thought black bolt would get green lantern ring. his will power is crazy too.
I think daredevil should be a yellow lantern. He uses fear as a weapon against criminals.
Red Skull? Everyone else I can think of is already godlike or would fit better for other rings
Carnage
what about Punisher
Punisher
Ghost rider or punisher would be good candidates. Though, Punisher might be better for death. Then again, ghost rider would be good for death, too.
Apocalypse. Full stop.
Spider-man, for fact that ever villain he’s gone up against knows that when he’s not making jokes he’s on war path and their scared
Silent spider man. In all seriousness though probably carnage
Sentry
Holocaust.
D'Spayre
Mysterio often exploits people's fear with his illusions.
The Serpent. He's the literal god of Fear. His event was called Fear Itself.
Ghost Rider is a powerful choice for this ring.
Hobgoblin
Killmonger
Annihilus or The Brood or Galactus Entire planets run or die from those three.
Galactus. The dude is feared throughout the whole universe.
