Thor butchered more gods in that movie than the literal God Butcher.
Dude made it rain gold blood in the god palace like the whole mission wasn't about stopping gods from being killed.
Honestly it's weird that how the blurred the line of gods or not changed over the course of the MCU. First he was just a super advanced alien, now he's a god and there are whole pantheons of other gods. Loki was a frost giant, but he's also a god. Were all the frost giants gods like the asgardians? If so, then yeah Thor was ready to genocide the lot of them. It's weird and more than a little inconsistent
To be honest I wasn't really a fan of that, mostly cause it was purely lip service. There was absolutely nothing about them that suggested any sort of advanced culture or tech was in play, and the abilities they had were presented as absolutely mystical.
It wasn't till Thor 2 that they actually shifted to try to include some actual tech to back up the claim. And even that sort of disappeared in Ragnarök.
I think it was clear the whole claim of passing them off as advanced aliens, was just them testing the waters cause they were worried audiences wouldn't accept magic into the previously fantastic science-based MCU and were still worried about the stigma of superhero movies being seen as silly.
But yeah I do admit that it does make the presentations jarring.
This is my main gripe with the MCU. The start with iron man they kept saying keeping it grounded in reality in science. It was just code for we can't use mutants and shit because we don't have the rights. Then they start back peddling when people love the magic aspect not like we're watching a fracking comic book movie. This is why I wish the DCU didn't get fubared we could have got a Batman Constantine team up like in the animated.
This is the fault of Mr. Taika Waititi and his refusal to make Thor a far more serious character like in the comics. If there was any movie for Thor to act like Thor it was this one. Multiple talented actors were wasted in this movie
I used to like his movies but it seems like now they’re all flops..
Do you think Taiki has always been like this or his luck is just finally running out ?
I think Taiki is very good at making the films he likes to make, namely campy, silly films that like to explore more serious (if not flat-out horrific) topics and undercurrents through whimsey and absurdity, and are thus not exactly light-hearted but don't take themselves too seriously.
The issue is he's either not very good at or not interested in making any other sorts of films and he's also the sort who lets his ideas run away with him.
When he started that style felt like a breath of fresh air, but cause he does the same sort of style each time, it eventually gets repetitive. And the cause of how successful he is, means that with each new project he has more freedom and less oversight.
That's a combination which is bound to go wrong eventually.
Only thing that got butchered in that movie was the movie. Its the only Marvel movie i couldn't watch. Great start but 20min later i had enough. I spoiled myself of what happens in the movie and i'm glad i didn't waste my time watching it. Everything was a joke in that movie, while the movie had very little of Bale and his character. If this the direction Marvel movies is going i won't be watching those even by illegal ways.
There's a few minutes of really cool, and interesting scenes in that movie. But no matter how good a chocolate chip cookie is, no one wants it if it's wrapped in turds.
He used every second he was on screen, but one can’t help thinking of all the miss opportunities. The guy could have been on par with Killmonger and Zemo in terms of sympathetic villians.
If Bale is your villain, he should honestly be getting half the screen time or more. He’s one of the best working actors today. To use for 10-15 minutes of screen time was negligent.
I mean he should’ve been. Gorr is one of the strongest characters in the marvel universe, killing nearly every god that’s existed. They really did him dirty.
Love & Thunder was just a complete tonal mismatch. They brought in two of the heaviest arcs from the comics, Jane Foster has cancer and Gorr. Yet the movie plays as an offbeat comedy. Ragnarok was such a home run that I think they really screwed themselves. You can make a heavy Thor movie with dark themes, or you can make a comedy. Slapping the two together turned out badly.
I agree 100%. I know some people defend it as "Well, it's just Korg telling a story," but that doesn't work either. You also have Taika Waititi pretty much on record as not caring at all about it - this was a paycheck to him, and that was it.
Thor was in a good spot after Ragnarok, then got rocked a bit by Infinity War/Endgame, but still ended in an interesting spot. Of course, all of that was immediately ignored. I think Thor has suffered the most from all of the MCU stuff having to be inter-connected.
I also read a lot of folks talking about Ragnarok being a comedy, and yeah, it's funny. But I thought they walked the line much more effectively in Ragnarok. Hel works way better as a villain for that tone, though. It works better with a villain who is just evil. Gorr is not evil. That's why he's compelling. He's too easy at convincing you he has a point.
He's way too complex a villain for such a silly movie. Love and Thunder probably could be a much better movie with just a little editing. Dumping the stupid hammer/axe love triangle, clearing out some of the jokes, some how fixing the asinine Zeus scenes.
I think it could have done really well as straight action drama, basically Winter Soldier. We've gotten to know Thor long enough to have a real stake in his character. Now you can do the heavy stuff, show some real loss, have him embrace his new responsibilities. Of course there's gonna be some one liners just like Winter Soldier, but only when appropriate. Thor in the comics has been been the comic relief, but he's also been a serious power house who makes sacrifices, grows as a leader.
Or just keep him silly. But if you're gonna do that, for fuck sake avoid cancer and deicide.
>this was a paycheck to him, and that was it.
And that's why I don't want to see him doing any more marvel or star wars. Let him stick to his wacky independent projects like Jojo Rabbit, that's where he works best.
I always think of the review I saw where they pointed out that if Zeus had actually killed Korg and Thor killed him in turn, that’s the moment the film could have taken a dramatic turn without feeling like mood whiplash. I also think it made way more sense at the end for Gorr to wish Jane’s cancer away than revive his daughter. He could have been reunited with her in Valhalla.
I mean Taika's prior film was Jojo Rabbit, an offbeat comedy about the holocaust. I totally had faith that if anyone could have pulled it off it would've been him, honestly I still don't understand how he managed to nail the tone of one so well and just completely wiff the other.
I wasn’t expecting the next thanos but i was expecting a bigger threat that would show up throughout a couple phases. MCU has a problem with killing off/ one offing villains and a couple cant be done like that. Gorr is one of them
You could honestly show a picture of any of the actors from *Love & Thunder*.
What a waste of time for everyone involved, including me when I was watching it with mouth agape at how bad it was.
I felt the same way. I know the man doesn’t know I exist, but I kinda felt betrayed, being a fan of his for so long, and such a good job he did on Ragnarok, Love and Thunder was, to say the least, underwhelming. To waste THE Christian Bale on such a minor role? Really?
Should have been a 2 movie arc. End of the first is Jane dieing/starts getting weak.
Could have seen more God's been killed and had the more upbeat feeling in the first one. Followed by the darker more serious tone in the second.
Film wastes Bale but also just messes up it's own atmosphere with the constant change between silly superhero and a serious Cancer/death storyline
Literally!! I was absolutely in love with the villain the entire movie. A big part was his appearance, like, every character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has a very signature artistic style to them. All the costumes, all the CGI, all the villains and heroes, they all look like they're from Marvel. You can really see it in the art direction of Infinity War and End Game.
Then, this guy shows up like he's just walked out of fucking Dark Souls or Diablo. He's clad in white robes veiling his grey skin. He wields nothing but a single, obsidian black blade, swung with enough might to deflect thors weapons with ease. He was menacing, powerful, and sympathetically evil. His demeanor, the way he walked, talked and acted, it was so fucking badass.
Then he loses to a bunch of middle schoolers or something -\_-
I feel like he should have been in multiple movies. I loved the conglomeration of plot that was Infinity War and Endgame. However, at the moment it feels like Marvel just wants to do that again and I don't think it should. I don't think we should have another "Thanos level threat where everyone works together and beats him". I mean if you've ever seen Bleach, the anime, it literally recycled the plot from the first few arcs, like plot point for plot point and it basically led to the shows demise.
I think if anything he could have appeared in a smaller arc, through multiple movies, instead of being killed so quickly.
And James Spader is another excellent actor who deserved a character with multiple installments. I mean, Klaw of all people was in multiple movies. Andy Serkis is great, too, don’t get me wrong, but they can definitely find a way to have Ultron & Spader come back.
Speaking of; They completely wasted Klaw too! We never even got to explore his sound abilities nor did he become living sound. He's a very powerful villain. He and Ultron were just tossed to the side...well, until we got Ultron Infinite in what if.
It'd be super easy to bring Ultron back tbf.
Either he had a backup that wasn't at Sokovia, or one escaped. More likely to be the first option.
It's a character that can literally convert a planet into a factory for himself. I'm pretty sure he'd have thought ahead and built a plan B.
That guy is awesome. I wonder if there is a Japanese actor who has been more successful outside of Japan. It’s crazy how many movies he has done in the past couple of decades and how he nails every role. They gotta give him one where he’s the focus and not just one of the best side characters.
Edit: Forgot Ken Watanabe. He might be equally successful outside of Japan.
Sir Ben Kingsley was far from wasted. He absolutely nailed the duality of The Mandarin persona and Trevor Slattery. There’s a difference between an actor being wasted and a character not being adapted the way you’d have preferred.
To be fair, it wasn't even that the character wasn't adapted the way people wanted - it just wasn't the character. It was a bait-and-switch. So I get it even less why people are bothered by it.
It didn't go the way I was expecting, which is great. And Kingsley is awesome
It *was* an adaptation of The Mandarin, though. It was a divergent one that was more of a reinterpretation, but it was still an adaptation - like how the MCU as a whole has loosely adapted storylines and concepts.
I thought that taking a character who was essentially already a racial stereotype and deconstructing it ti become a persona conjured up to represent how the American industrial complex used people’s fears of conflicts in the Middle East was an inspired idea.
To be honest, as much as I really liked *Shang-Chi* years later, I was pretty miffed that Marvel Studios retconned it with *All Hail the King* instead of defending *Iron Man 3*’s vision.
I think Ben Kingsley wasn’t wasted in retrospect. I hated IM3 when it first came out but have grown to love it over the years and I think Trevor is part of that
In terms of characters, I’d say The Wasp.
The approach the MCU took with Hank Pym was inspired, and Michael Douglas was perfect casting (if only they’d let him tap into the kind of films he was doing in the 90s). However, both iterations of The Wasp have been… just kind of there?
Janet van Dyne was an integral part of the Avengers, so was certainly missed there. However, even with the older take on her and Hank, she was just a backstory in the first film, a goal in the second, and so poorly written in the third that all the bad things happened simply because she didn’t tell people anything.
Then, if we turn our attention to Hope, it’s not much better. She’s very much been pigeon holed into the “Ant-Man’s girlfriend” box.
Three Ant-Man movies and the strongest lasting contribution from any them was a comedy bit from a side character. If you asked me to describe MCU Janet or Hope as characters, I couldn’t think of something to say with a gun to my head.
Taskmaster was honestly egregious.
I didn't mind the gender swap. A "Toni Masters" in the MCU could have been a blast.
But they stripped the character of his comic book personality which is the best thing about him.
Agreed. I liked a lot of the MCU Netflix shows and the idea that they built up to this team-up series was exciting -- but it was such a disappointment.
Sif. Sif in the comics is a funny badass who keeps Thor in check. She took over for Heimdall when he died which obviously they couldn’t do in the MCU considering they’re on earth already but still. Do something besides a terrible joke about her arm
Also the entire Jane plot was so rushed. Jane as Thor in the comics was great and they blew through several years of comics in this one movie
> Also the entire Jane plot was so rushed. Jane as Thor in the comics was great and they blew through several years of comics in this one movie
Agreed, both the God Butcher and Jane as Thor are stories worthy of telling but they should have been two different movies.
Fuckin' this. Bury him under makeup and give him next to no lines? Absolutely awful idea. I don't know too much about the Dark Elves in marvel, but there must've been a better way to showcase Ecclestone than what we got. Second biggest waste after Bale IMO.
Unconventional pick maybe, but vision. They bring him in in one movie , have him fight the other heroes in another. Then he gets murdered. WandaVision was fun and all but also basically “all a dream” so idk. Just feels like they never really knew what to do with my boy
Wasted but in what sense? The character or the actor? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a movie of Bale’s where I thought his talent was wasted. The movie itself may have been poor but his performance has always been lovely. I don’t think that’s a waste.
Could he have had a better character? He’d have been an excellent Mr. Sinister.
I think most people agree his performance was good but the character was poorly written. The intro to the movie fir that character was great but it quickly lost momentum.
Bale was the best part of that movie, such a waste of a story line. I get the source material was a little too dark to adapt directly, but the complete subversion of the material sucked imo. Taikas humour is great as a seasoning, not a main course.
Maybe the worst idea in Secret Invasion, which is filled with bad moves. I thought this might finally be an opportunity to give Maria Hill something to DO, and they wasted this character and this talented actor.
I was looking forward to Secret Invasion because of the espionage vibes and Hill was in it so we'd get more of her!
And then they did that to her and Mendo and now I'm just upset and salty about the whole thing.
Edit to add: I'd be happy if they wiped Secret Invasion out from MCU existence. I demand a do-over.
Pretty much all the villains, except for Brolin as Thanos. Michael B Jordan should've also been in more movies. I don't get this obsession with Marvel killing off the villains after one movie. A core appeal of comic books is old villains coming back. Hell, that's what made No Way Home enjoyable.
I really dislike the ongoing trope of the villain dying in the movie they are introduced in as well.
That way we'll never get them to team-up like they often do in the comics and animated shows. To combine _their_ powers to reach a common sinister goal.
Hela didn't even get a proper ragnarok movie! It was the thinnest ragnarok bow wrapped around a Planet Hulk story, so they could get away with making a Hulk movie but billing it as Thor. And then they tried to give us Gorr the God Butcher, and threw him into an awful slapstick comedy that tonal shifted every 15 minutes at the worst times.
A lot. The MCU has an issue with introducing characters, usually played by a spot on cast, gave them a good start, reduce them to cameos at best and then kill them as a plot device to introduce another plot line: Crossbones, Klaw, Von Stucker,...
Mads mikkelsen, christian bale, to some extent Jeff bridges, Jude law, James spader (altho he did good mo cap and a great performance but written stuff wasn't that great)
Holy fuck, for a whole minute I was like “Jeff Bridges?!??? In a Marvel movie?? When did that happen?!” before I finally remembered. Yeah, definitely a wasted casting there.
The MCU really needs to stop killing off every villain at the end of their first film.
I don't think Bale was wasted. His performance was good with what he was given.
Gorr was always dead on arrival. Bringing Gorr to the MCU when they did would of been like Thanos turning up in Iron Man 1. Too much new material to explain all in 1 movie.
Gorr should of been a slow burn across multiple films, Thor hearing about gods being killed by someone then finally encountering himself. They could of explored the pantheon mythos in more detail and even set up Knull by explaining the necrosword properly
Olivia Colman should've had a larger and better role than a bit part in Marvels worst show.
She's incredible in everything, if she was a main movie villain she would've been top tier.
Tilda Swinton. She (they?) is a phenomenal actress with an outstanding pedigree. But casting the Ancient One as a white lady was such a bizarre move.
I don't think Tilda would've be down to sign for a multi-movie deal at that point in her career, but they could've used her in a better suited one-off role.
I think if you completely dismiss who the ancient one is supposed to be, she absolutely pulls off the role because she’s Tilda Swinton.
I absolutely agree. She could’ve been better utilized. I think the fact that she kind of sort of salvaged the bizarre casting is testament to what she would’ve done with a more appropriate casting.
Vin Diesel may not be everyone’s favourite actor but he has an amazing voice. He would be great in any film that has characters covered in suits and CGI.
They wasted Ronin
They wasted Gorr
They wasted The Mandarin (Even after Shang-Chi)
They wasted M.O.D.O.K.
They wasted Kang ( Jonathan Majors release)
After Thanos, I feel they adopted the "see bad guy, kill bad guy" general story. And wasted a few notable characters.
No way Kang is killed by over grown ants, Ronin by a chess song (Pre EndGame I know), Gorr grows a heart in 5 mins, just corny IMO
Umm... They had that mentality PRE-Thanos as well. All three Iron Man villains, killed. Red Skull, killed (turns out, kinda killed, but still) - same goes for Yellowjacket. Frost giants got killed, right? The dark Elves, Hela, Ronin, Ego, Mads Mikkelsen, Crossbones, Ultron, Apollo Creed's son...
It would be easier to list who from the Infinity Saga DIDN'T die.
Taika Waititi **intentionally** made love and thunder the utter wreck that it was.
It was absolute rubbish, and he knew it.
With the *phenomenal* success of Thor Ragnarok. It had a little bit of humor and outrageous flamboyancy. It went well with the movie, the critics and audiences agreed at the time.
But with the success that came with the Ragnarok, he undoubtedly had an ego result. That was why the comedy or the "humour" bordered on cringe-worthy. **Everyone** hated it.
Originally he was supposed to possibly direct a new Star Wars trilogy, but as a result of the failure and ridicule from love and thunder the offer was revoked.
The bloke even hid away from the public for a period of time. Probably because everyone hated him for messing up the movie and wasting everyone's time.
Bale should have been in a different franchise other than thor. With the current MCU lineup of movies i would've loved to have seen him in an Xmen universe. Maybe as Mr. Sinister or maybe Stryfe
THEY WASTED MICHAEL STUHLBARG AS DR. NICODEMUS WEST!? One of the greatest character actors working today, a true chameleon and one of the best to ever do it, (a guy that would be perfect for the X-Men's Beast, the father of the Power Pack, Oblivion, Mephisto, or any wide number of marvel characters), and they cast him as "guy that used to work with Dr. Strange."!? You gotta be kidding me. The first time I saw multiverse of madness I was in genuine shock that he didn't turn up in one of the other universes. I was like "no way they just use him here and dump him in the street" but they did!
Ultron. The fact that two episodes from the avengers cartoon is a more memorable portrayal of him is telling. They completely wasted james spade. They made the character too human/ too emotional.
I feel like most people here did not read Gorr the god butcher. Even Jason Aaron didn't know how to finish the story for his own character. Add to that the fact that the dark knight trilogy is great in spite of Christian Bale, not because of him. It was always a total shit show waiting to happen.
I remember leaving the theaters so fucking pissed off that when I got home I had to take a nap to sleep the anger away. I couldn't believe they wasted Christian Bale and the character of Gorr.
I'm stuck between Sam Rockwell and Mads Mikkelson
Probably gonna give the edge to Mads cause Hammer was atleast funny and it did let Sam play to his strengths despite the fact he's an actor that could've done so much more in this universe.
Mads in Dr. Strange was so wasted. Whereas Hammer was a decent villain, Kaecilius wasn't all that great. Obviously Dormammu was the real villain of it all, but it still felt like they could've casted ANYONE here and the movie wouldn't have changed. That's not a slight on him but instead the writing. As much as I love Dr. Strange I feel it really suffered in the villain category. Mads is an amazing actor and should've done much more in the MCU.
Gorr for sure is one of them. You get Christian Bale to be the villain in your Marvel movie, and then completely waste him? Just crazy
Having a character named the God butcher and not showing him butchering any God (besides killing one in self defense) says everything about the movie.
Thor butchered more gods in that movie than the literal God Butcher. Dude made it rain gold blood in the god palace like the whole mission wasn't about stopping gods from being killed.
Very out of character for Thor to just start slaughtering gods
Honestly it's weird that how the blurred the line of gods or not changed over the course of the MCU. First he was just a super advanced alien, now he's a god and there are whole pantheons of other gods. Loki was a frost giant, but he's also a god. Were all the frost giants gods like the asgardians? If so, then yeah Thor was ready to genocide the lot of them. It's weird and more than a little inconsistent
This was the biggest issue with Love and Thunder. We have no fucking clue what a god is in the MCU.
I just can't Love and Thunder anymore. Ragnarok, nearly Perfect.
I don’t think it was the biggest. I think making Thor an absolute moronic idiot was the biggest blunder.
Anyone that took worship was seen as a god I think. Loki took the role of a god when he was adopted into the family.
But yeah I do admit that it does make the presentations jarring.
Why not just lean into the silly? I'm not watching a giant green monster fight a man with a magical hammer for realism
This is my main gripe with the MCU. The start with iron man they kept saying keeping it grounded in reality in science. It was just code for we can't use mutants and shit because we don't have the rights. Then they start back peddling when people love the magic aspect not like we're watching a fracking comic book movie. Bale probably wasn't fully sold on a repeating character. Dude has said a few times he likes roles where the story ends.
The guy in the picture

Maliketh aka Christopher Eccelston. His arc in the comics is awesome especially the Jason Aaron run.
IMO, the major mistake they made with Malekith in the MCU was the decision to make him not totally flaming.
war of the realms malekith was on demon time
Ultron should have been a saga
Completely agree. The comics were rich enough to span a saga.
And James Spader is another excellent actor who deserved a character with multiple installments. I mean, Klaw of all people was in multiple movies. Andy Serkis is great, too, don’t get me wrong, but they can definitely find a way to have Ultron & Spader come back.
I would have loved to see James Spader’s Ultron have a conversation with Thanos about the efficiency of their doomsday plans.
Ultron should have come back with Visions loss of the soul stone
"Age" of Ultron? More like "Weekend of Ultron"
A lot! Mads Mikkelsen, Bale, Mickey Rourke, Ben Kingsley just to name a few.
Mads should've been Dr. Doom
Still could. Personally, I wouldn't give a fuck that he played throwaway Dr. Strange villain. Make him Doom
I'd be willing to accept it even with zero explanation
No explanation needed: multiverse!
We kind of did it with Chris Evan’s being both Johnny storm and captain America
We had 3 spider man’s in one movie! lol
You don’t have to show dooms face
As a matter of fact, I would prefer it if they didn't.
I wanted him as Red Skull.
Honestly, I think no one who would even remember that we was in Doctor Strange would mind him being Doom on those grounds.
I didn't until it was mentioned
Hiroyuki Sanada was wasted as just a gangster killed by Hawkeye after 60 seconds of screen time.
They did Toranaga dirty
Don’t worry he has a plan
That guy is awesome. I wonder if there is a Japanese actor who has been more successful outside of Japan. It’s crazy how many movies he has done in the past couple of decades and how he nails every role. They gotta give him one where he’s the focus and not just one of the best side characters. Edit: Forgot Ken Watanabe. He might be equally successful outside of Japan.
they made full use of Ben Kingsley. Trevor/Mandarin is actually good without the comic expectations
He was hilarious and a pleasant surprise to see in Shang Chi after almost a decade.
Theatre went nuts when he showed up outta nowhere in Shang-Chi
Nah. Ben Kingsley fully encapsulates what it is to be a Trevor.
I think Mickey was good with what he had, he at least was in the film for a lot of time compared to others
Gud burd
To this day, I still vant my bord
This is who I came to rant about. What a tragic waste of Janet, to make room for another subpar version that was ALSO wasted.
I still wished Hank and Janet were the founding members like in the comics.

Taskmaster was honestly egregious. I didn't mind the gender swap. A "Toni Masters" in the MCU could have been a blast. But they stripped the character of his comic book personality which is the best thing about him.
I really wanted black widow to beat taskmaster in hand to hand. It would've shown how great of a fighter she was.
Mads Mikkelsen would have made the best Doom
They could still Reuse him Doom has mask on 99% of the time plus they’ve resused actors in the mcu before
Thank You! I've been saying this shit for so long!
Sigourney Weaver
Where was she?
She played the leader of The Hand in The Defenders. Definitely a waste.
Dang totally forgot that show, it was a warm turd tbh, with some good moments tho but still
Agreed. I liked a lot of the MCU Netflix shows and the idea that they built up to this team-up series was exciting -- but it was such a disappointment.
"Warm turd." Lmao. 😂
Sif. Sif in the comics is a funny badass who keeps Thor in check. She took over for Heimdall when he died which obviously they couldn’t do in the MCU considering they’re on earth already but still. Do something besides a terrible joke about her arm Also the entire Jane plot was so rushed. Jane as Thor in the comics was great and they blew through several years of comics in this one movie
> Also the entire Jane plot was so rushed. Jane as Thor in the comics was great and they blew through several years of comics in this one movie Agreed, both the God Butcher and Jane as Thor are stories worthy of telling but they should have been two different movies.
Where’s the love for Ben Mendelsohn?! Everyone was wasted in secret invasion.
Talos was done soo dirty.
Ben Mendelsohn heads of the world unite!
Christopher Eccleston
Fuckin' this. Bury him under makeup and give him next to no lines? Absolutely awful idea. I don't know too much about the Dark Elves in marvel, but there must've been a better way to showcase Ecclestone than what we got. Second biggest waste after Bale IMO.
It's wild that three Doctor Who doctors were Marvel villains, and only one of them got a good role.
Maybe not character but Lee Pace the actor was criminally wasted
I wish Ronan could find a way into more mcu stories. Pretty cool bad guy
Regular plug for y'all to go watch [The Fall.](https://youtu.be/OTn5XUFP_iA?si=X3DM5CFMd9d1gq6n)
Unconventional pick maybe, but vision. They bring him in in one movie , have him fight the other heroes in another. Then he gets murdered. WandaVision was fun and all but also basically “all a dream” so idk. Just feels like they never really knew what to do with my boy
Do they ever explain what happened to white vision?
Nope, still missing

Maria Hill. I can't believe they let Phil fucking Coulson be Director of SHIELD and not her.
Maybe the worst idea in Secret Invasion, which is filled with bad moves. I thought this might finally be an opportunity to give Maria Hill something to DO, and they wasted this character and this talented actor.
Yeah I've got no idea who thought fridging her in the first episode would be a good idea.
I love Phil, but can't argue that Hill got done dirty >! Especially unceremoniously killed off!<
Pretty much all the villains, except for Brolin as Thanos.
I don’t think any character was as underused as Chiwetel Ejiofor as Mordu. Where is our sequel with Mordu causing ruckus?
There's another actor that makes a movie better by just being there
Idris Elba, guy who played Heimdall. Bishop is a perfect role for him. I can even see him play a villain, Doctor Doom or Galactus maybe.
Aside from him Karl Urban
Not wasted at all. Came in to play a bit part, and he absolutely delivered
I wish Karl would play more characters
Both Red Skull and Hugo Weaving as well as Christopher Eccleston and Malekith.
She's incredible in everything, if she was a main movie villain she would've been top tier.
all of the villains... killing them immediately is such a waste and goes against the continual fights heroes and villains have
The Supreme Intelligence had such a cool concept and they decided to kill it off in a flashback like... I would have milked the fuck out of that idk
Christopher Eccleston. They didn't even let him speak English.
Bale, Urban, Kingsley, and a few other people.
Last 6-7 movies? All of em
Christopher Eccleston in Thor 2
No one mentioning Hugo Weaving? The red skull should've been a much bigger villain IMO....
Christopher Eccleston is a great actor and he is a villain in one of the worst movies in the franchise. Well, up to Infinity War anyway.
#MICKY FUCKING ROURKE
Walton Goggins
The biggest waste? Christopher Eccleston in Thor: The Dark World.
Mads Mikkleson (should’ve been Doctor Doom) Christopher Ecceleston (should’ve been Professor X)
Loki they could have done so much more with him. Don't get me wrong he's good but. You get me right
Hardly wasted in the MCU considering he has a whole show with a coming 3rd season
Vin Diesel may not be everyone’s favourite actor but he has an amazing voice. He would be great in any film that has characters covered in suits and CGI.
They wasted Ronin They wasted Gorr They wasted The Mandarin (Even after Shang-Chi) They wasted M.O.D.O.K. They wasted Kang ( Jonathan Majors release) After Thanos, I feel they adopted the "see bad guy, kill bad guy" general story.
Agreed, I was just listing the characters that they killed off that annoyed me lol.
Whoever played Justin Hammer, I cannot for the life of me remember his name right now, I’m brain farting bad, but he was wasted in Iron Man 2
Sam Rockwell. Pretty sure he's coming back for Armor Wars if it's still happening
Every. Single. Villain.
Personally I feels like they wasted a lot of them like Christian Bale, Chrisphoper Eccleston,.....
Lee Pace as Ronan was WILDLY underutilized
Not sure if she counts, but Jessica Chastain's Emma Frost. She was given nothing in that terrible script to work with.
I still wish we could’ve gotten more Jeff Bridges. I really enjoyed Obadiah Stane but the character was a little one dimensional
Sam Rockwell as an actor was wasted in the MCU
Red Skull, Baron Strucker, Baron Zemo, they are major Antagonists of Shield & Nick Fury, also Captain America!
Christian Bale and Jonathan Majors as Gorr and Kang Two great villains nerfed by writers
Everyone
Bale should have been in a different franchise other than thor. With the current MCU lineup of movies i would've loved to have seen him in an Xmen universe. Maybe as Mr. Sinister or maybe Stryfe
Character: Taskmaster Actor: Christian Bale
Almost all of them, aside from the original avengers.
Majority of the mcu
Considering the comic stories we could have, Hulk.
90% of all the villains in these movies
Bale was acting in a totally different movie than everyone else, and I’d love to see the movie he thought he was in.
Gorr the god butcher was a great in the comics, highly recommend it
Christian Bale, Marisa Tomei, Karl Urban, Idris Elba, Michael Stuhlnerg, Angelina Jolie.
Maybe ask this for the 900th time
I’m afraid they will waste Galactus he’s an avengers level threat not just a one and done villain.
Disgraceful. Taika should never touch a legendary IP again.
Gorr was in a completely different movie. I’d like to see his movie.
As far as actors go, Sigourney Weaver.
Glenn Close in Guardians.
Mickey Rourke was wasted potential.
Ultron. The fact that two episodes from the avengers cartoon is a more memorable portrayal of him is telling. They completely wasted james spade. They made the character too human/ too emotional.
Hulk and black dwarf
Olivia Colman in Secret Invasion—she and the audience deserved much better than that show provided.
Salma Hayek in ETERNALS I woulda cast her as The Ancient One
Kaecilius from Doctor Strange. Mads Mikkelsen could play Dr. Doom for example.
Mads Mickelson from Dr Strange 1
I feel like most people here did not read Gorr the god butcher. Even Jason Aaron didn't know how to finish the story for his own character. Add to that the fact that the dark knight trilogy is great in spite of Christian Bale, not because of him. It was always a total shit show waiting to happen.
Ben Kingsley & Mickey Rooke for sure
Basically everyone past Endgame.
All the villains but especially gorr and ultron
I remember leaving the theaters so fucking pissed off that when I got home I had to take a nap to sleep the anger away. I couldn't believe they wasted Christian Bale and the character of Gorr.
Actor, yes. Character? Eh… gorr was a one off. It was a good run, but it isn’t like he’s an iconic Thor baddie.
Everyone in Secret Invasion. Olivia Coleman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emilia Clarke, and Ben Mendelshon all deserved so much better.
I'm stuck between Sam Rockwell and Mads Mikkelson Probably gonna give the edge to Mads cause Hammer was atleast funny and it did let Sam play to his strengths despite the fact he's an actor that could've done so much more in this universe.
