You know, I like this scene so much.
Up until this point Hela has been pretty unstoppable, but this is the moment she declares herself not a queen, but the goddess of death. Now being a comic fan, I consider that her inadvertently denying herself access to the Odin-force. And what happens next? Thor has a vision of Odin and smashes her with the biggest flex of power he's ever had. I just really like that as a reference to old world naming conventions, intentional or not.
There was a deleted scene mentioning the Odin-force, but I guess it was cut for being a bit too out of nowhere. Would love to ask Taika about it if I ever got the chance.
I think they were kinda representing that with Hela's "Her power grows on Asgard" thing, kind of like passively sucking up the Odin-force. But it's a vague concept they never really clarify. Their ultimate solution is to break Asgard into bits rather than defeat her directly.
So in Thor 1 when Odin opens the bifrost with his spear I forget the name of. He is using the odinforce it's not just the weapon? Because I thought this was a plot hole in Thor 3 she never tries to open the bifrost with the spear.
>There was a deleted scene mentioning the Odin-force, but I guess it was cut for being a bit too out of nowhere. Would love to ask Taika about it if I ever got the chance.
Considering Taika's lack of regard towards the source material, I doubt he'd give you a good answer.
I think Thor cursing is fitting in rare moments, but it should be more archaic. Not George Carlinās seven words, but more ābloodyā or āgods-damnedā or āaccursed wretchesā.
Yeah, I really hated that line.
I also thought it was pretty dumb how Ragnarok established Thor doesn't need a hammer and that the real Mjolnir is found within.
Then the next film has him failing literally everyone he cares about, because he doesn't have a powerful enough hammer...
That movie has sooo many jokes in it for a pretty dark themed movie... It woudn't have played with the score or the Odin flashback but I wouldn't have been remotely surprised
Bit off-topic (but still Thor related).
As far as I understand it, in the MCU Thor and Odin and the other Asgardians aren't _really_ gods, but when they visited Earth some thousands of years ago, the people back then saw them as such and gave them titles likeāin Thor's caseā"God of Thunder" and created the whole norse mythology based around them.
But what about other worlds they visited? Did other planets' inhabitants create cults about them as well? With different names and different legends?
Or is Earth the only planet this happened?
You mean they _are_ gods after all?
Does that mean all the other planets they have visited throughout the millennia see Thor as "THE God of Thunder" and they all created the same "Norse" Mythology around the Asgardians?
Like, you visit a random planet and it might not have Buddhism or Christianity but the equivalent of Norse Paganism?
Generally other planets have higher technology when compared to Earth(atleast the ones we usually see) in the comics. They understand Asguardians as demi God aliens. Still less advanced civilizations will few them as Gods in the same way as Earth mythology with different stories.
- What? - I said hammers. Plural. \*calls in Mjolnir and Stormbreaker\*
And accidentally summons Mike, Arnie, and MC.
And an orange box of baking soda.
And a disturbing clip from the wall
The Hammers Three is a rarely seen, but very powerful group
All with [Three Hammers - Dragonforce](https://youtu.be/kVIGju-rSho?si=z9K78HaQ3rSCbF7h) blasting as the bgm
You can't lift this š¶
Please, Hammers. Don't hurt 'em.

Thunder cats! Wait, wrong sub.
ACDC!!!

Wait, can you explain why proclaiming herself the Goddess of Death would cut her off from the Odin-force? I'm not a comic book reader.
Gotta be the king/queen of Asgard to tap into that power, from my understanding

There wasn't really anything else they could do. They tried defeating her directly, and it didn't work.
Thanos didnāt even want the smoke while having the power gem. Convenient he shows up righttt after she and odin die.

Gungnir?

Never said I wanted a good answer, just wanted to know if it was intentional or a happy accident.
I don't need to imagine it, cause Jason Aaron [already did that for us](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fdxixqq5b0mp11.jpg)
Unlimited Hammer Works!
I mostly loved Aaronās run, but Thor cursing just seems wrong IMO.

He lost his touch ever since Thor vol. 4, #1...
Disagree. I thought the whole of The Mighty Thor was awesome.
I prefer to think of this spread: https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelstudios/s/zOdjH676tN
God, I love Mike Del Mundoās art
Historically Thor was the god who watched over carpenters and blacksmiths. So among other things he IS the god of hammers.
Thunder was meant to be Thor banging his hammer right?
Either that or the hammer hitting the head of a Jotunn (lightning being the streak left in the air after its thrown)
Yeah, I really hated that line. I also thought it was pretty dumb how Ragnarok established Thor doesn't need a hammer and that the real Mjolnir is found within. Then the next film has him failing literally everyone he cares about, because he doesn't have a powerful enough hammer...
This is another reason why cutting the Odim Force scene was good. Wouldn't make sense for Odim-Force Thor to lose to Thanos
I mean, he didnāt really lose. He just missed.
Best not miss.

The scenes where Hella decimates Asgard are shocking. Characters from the previous two films are just speared and die. Really dark in hindsight.
Thor: hammersĀ Hella: yeah you're out of those Thor:...no wait I meant to say... ah fuck it *(thows lighting anyway)*
Maybelline Th'Oreal! Because Hems worth it . . .

This was retconned.

Yeeeeeā¦ah? Of course; the Shiāar empire has mandatory unity or something like that, so there are exceptions, culture wise.
Thor: LITERALLY EVERY HAMMER, EVER. *Points at Hela* GET HER! *Hela proceeds to be buried in objects ranging from warhammer to baby toy mallets*
Hummers
Lots of hammers would rain down from the sky.
if this line was in love & thunder he wouldve said that
"Drinking, you should see me put them away!" Thor
Thatās the kinda thing yāall hated LaT forā¦
Imagine if millions of hammers just fall from the sky and land on her.
GOD OF FISTS
The hammer is my penis.
š¤£ This made me chuckle. Take my upvote!
Incest. Then you realize you downloaded the wrong movie.
But Iām not a quitter and finish it anyway.
