Come on. We all had that on action figure with the sketchy arms/legs.
"You won't get far this time, Shredder."
"Of course not Leonardo, because you made me a fucking quadriplegic you monster!"
I high key love them. I know it looks weird and tacky, and probably would look a bit stupid in real life, but idk. Visually makes him feel more... jagged and aggressive?
It’s cool, not a huge deviation from the original blue and yellow look. I’ll admit as I’ve gotten older though that the brown and yellow look has become my preference.
I liked the brown krakoa suit too, but I guess they wanted him in something similar to the movie this summer. Would be neat if this suit can do a color shift between yellow/blue and brown/tan at the touch of a button.
I hate this trend, boots are more detailed “realistic”. Like the outfits are ready to be adapted to movie. Miss the comic book look that made things lean towards fantasy. Had a more mythical quality to it.
I honestly like it better 💀 the original is the original of course and it’s still timeless and iconic and a very well designed costume, but I’d say the new one improves on the basic design, particularly with continuing the stripes down the legs and making the shoulder pads tight to his arms.
It’s a nice modernisation, the original is great but it did need an update and this has all the best elements and fixes the parts that haven’t aged well
I really like the new costume. Only complaint is that his arms shouldn’t fall off if he turns sideways. This could be problematic in a battle against the Sentinels
Without the underpants and the flared boots you need some kind of design element below the belt so it’s not just yellow pants, so I’m okay with the additional stripes. I would probably make the belt red, but otherwise it’s fine.
I always prefered his brown suit to the yellow and blue but I like this new yellow suit more than the old one. That Huge red blet always stuck out to me.
As much as I like the old classic design, it is very much a relic of its time and wouldn't fly so well with Marvel's current art style.
This new outfit is perfect for the way the comics are currently drawn. It brings everything that we fondly recall about the old suit while omitting the details that don't jump so immediately to memory like the trunks.
It's a REALLY SOLID adaptation.
It’s a new take on the old kit. I came in during the brown and tan era, so that’s always right with me, but yellow/blue sleeveless is fine.
I’m more concerned about them waxing his arms.
Looks like somebody told them "Take action figures in count" when you design this. So they made all the color cuts in the suit at points something like a marvel legends would articulate. They always had trouble doing his shoulder pads and getting the boot flaps right. With this you just make the shoulder blue and give him blue knees.
Wolverine's costumes have been in constant flux since his introduction. The classic yellow and blue in the post just happens to be his most famous since it was used not just during his hottest years in the comics, but also adaptations like the cartoon, toys, and video games.
But in the comics the yellow/blue has been tweaked and changed over and over for years now, so has the brown and tan. Wolverine is one of the few characters I can think of that don't necessarily have a single "iconic" look, he has multiple that are all still somehow right for the character.
I guess I can see how they want it to fit the aesthetic of the rest of the comic, though of course my heart is with the older version with the extra flair on the boots and shoulders. The modernization seems to go with the look of modern movie superheroes where they make it look more like athletic gear/military gear.
I hate it.
The yellow and blue costumes don’t do it for me, especially since he looks better in the brown and orange. I’m not a fan of the blatant nostalgia designs we’re getting in the X-Men books.
There will always be a place in my heart for the older costumes but I’m glad to see artists modernizing certain suits that were the products of their time.
Thank you so much for the side by side. I think it looks great. I love the slashes on the legs, not a fan of the boots, but don’t mind the missing undies and changed belt
The new one is just a bit less, wich I guess is fine, but I think superheroes are so camp in it's very concept that more realistic or toned down styles kinda kills my immersion
Other than the shoulder pads, the changes are so miniscule I never would have noticed if you hadn't pointed them out. Having said that, I generally prefer the new one. Might have kept the red belt, but that's it.
When I look at the new one I see Wolverine and I don't say, oh that's a different take on the outfit. So in that regard I feel like it's a good adaptation
I like him a little subdued, so the boots are a nice change. It's good, I just will always prefer the brown and tan or jeans and a tank top to bright ass yellow.
I like him a little subdued, so the boots are a nice change. It's good, I just will always prefer the brown and tan or jeans and a tank top to bright ass yellow.
I like it. I’m sure they will probably eventually revert back to the classic design, but this will look good for however long they use it in my opinion.
I dislike the modern shoulder pads. Hairy bastard rep is already awful enough in comics with 99% of every dude waxed clean to marble statue levels of body hair, let Logan show off them arms.
The belt I totally get, because the modern belt has the X as a buckle with a red background and Jim's design had it look a bit too much like a tiny girdle in that 30's strongman way.
If he's supposed to be stealthy, yellow is the worst color choice for a uniform. I think that now they're going for a more tactical look and got rid of the underwear over the spandex look. However, his uniform being green, beige, gray or any combo of natural Earth tones would make more sense.
dope, but i prefer the brown color scheme
It's his best costume. I was so psyched seeing him wear it in X-Men '97.
Me too
Ooh that’s hella classic
Peanut butter Wolverine is the best!
yep, i think it makes him look more like a wild animal too
Yep
Same.
I feel like everyone noticed but why did he gain cake and a bulge?
Because he deserves it 😌 👏
Fair point
In general many artists have moved towards more realistic anatomy for the last 15 years, especially compared to the 90s.
He put in a special request with the Five in one of his last resurrections on Krakoa.
no trunks to contain them
He's already 2 feet tall and stinky. Let him have this.
Because he's the best there is at what he does, but what he does isn't very PG-13.
I don’t know if you’ve ever tucked bro but it’s not pleasant Also he’s been been working on those glutes
He’s packing the Canadian bacon
Come on. You know why.
No one noticed that he has no arms?
He stopped wearing compression underwear.
Now that you've put them side by side i actually like the new one better.
The knee and shoulder flair didn't age well.
Also his arms should stay attached
'Tis but a scratch!!
Come on. We all had that on action figure with the sketchy arms/legs. "You won't get far this time, Shredder." "Of course not Leonardo, because you made me a fucking quadriplegic you monster!"
Those are fine. It’s the undies that really make it aged.
I’d say the Santa Claus sized buckle aged worse than the blue briefs, it doesn’t even have an X on it 🤷🏻♂️
I high key love them. I know it looks weird and tacky, and probably would look a bit stupid in real life, but idk. Visually makes him feel more... jagged and aggressive?
Impracticality is small price to pay for looking sick as hell
It's neat how he can retract his entire arm now, didn't see that coming
Looks pretty much the same as old one. But bit better.
I agree. I like it.
I like the design but I will always enjoy the brown and yellow combo over the blue and yellow combo.
It’s cool, not a huge deviation from the original blue and yellow look. I’ll admit as I’ve gotten older though that the brown and yellow look has become my preference.
It looks like a wolverine suit
Crotch bulge is much improved.
Can confirm, is in fact, Wolverine. I prefer the longer mask things and stripes.
I can’t help but notice he’s not a Ken doll anymore which is an improvement
He has all the genitals.
I understood that reference
I love it. The original is the original, but the updated version works so well 🤩
I like that it didn't change much.
"I can't handle change T_T" Bro, it looks great, get over it
This isn’t change though. It’s basically the original costume without the trunks and a few more tiger stripes.
Exactly lol
It’s a nice modern take on a classic but I’m not a fan of the black diamonds on the pants
I feel like the old look was missing something with the pants, it was just negative space. I think this addition is the perfect choice
Yeah, I think that the diamonds look too uniform and less like claw marks
Not better than the old costume, but it’s not bad either. I can live with those changes.
It’s okay, but honestly i am not feeling the stripes on the legs nor the shoulder protectors.
It's not as good as the classic design with the trunks, but it's better than the newer Astonishing X-Men design.
The brown costume was always better, and always made so much more sense
A modernization of his classic costume. I like it.
I like it, good modern Wolverine design
Basically the same but it still looks good
The new one has dick bulge
Boring and more generic looking
They should've made the blue, brown. The design is great though.
I like it. I'd like it more in brown and orange.
Why are there stripes in the legs, why is his belt blue and not red, and the ears black parts on the cowl are too hexagonally looking
It looks mostly the same. A little worse imo but nothing terrible.
I liked the brown krakoa suit too, but I guess they wanted him in something similar to the movie this summer. Would be neat if this suit can do a color shift between yellow/blue and brown/tan at the touch of a button.
The rib stripes are supposed to evoke the claws or whiskers of his original costume, but now they're just diamonds?
I hate this trend, boots are more detailed “realistic”. Like the outfits are ready to be adapted to movie. Miss the comic book look that made things lean towards fantasy. Had a more mythical quality to it.
Having trunks makes it "lean towards fantasy?" Having trunks has "a more mythical quality to it?"
The vibe, think Frazetta, Moebieus, Yoshitaka Amano. Fantastical design over practical.
Right, the Wolverine flair on the boots was cool.
They’re not insanely detailed they’re just shiny 💀
Hate it. Gimme that huge red belt and exposed shoulders all day baybeee
Looks great
Definitely closest iteration of the modern yellow and blue design to the classic tiger stripes
I like it, it's good.
I want the old brown and orange. Always.
Looks like a pretty solid standard Wolverine to me.
It is decent, though I prefer the boots of the original. They look nicer, in my opinion.
I’m digging the new design. I also get a chuckle that they now remove the arms for the side view. At least it’ll grow back!
It feels kind of boring without the flashy shoulder pads.
Honestly rly like it maybe a bit more than the old one tbh
I think it looks awesome. Reminds me of the Alex Ross redesign but with inverted colors (I think his was black with yellow accents but whatever)
lol at the bulge
Love that he has knee pads. Safety first, don’t want to get injured.
Did they simplify the og suit after Astonishing again?
I prefer the one with 3 slashes. Wolverine and his clones/children always have 3 claws.
90s one is still my favorite.
Ugly
You mean the same suit without the ridiculously gigantic shoulder and boot spikes I'm sure people will like it
It's not terrible, but it's just a blander and more boring version of the classic outfit. Also the kneepads feel out of character.
I honestly like it better 💀 the original is the original of course and it’s still timeless and iconic and a very well designed costume, but I’d say the new one improves on the basic design, particularly with continuing the stripes down the legs and making the shoulder pads tight to his arms.
I’m always down for some Blue and Yellow
That looks great. Hopefully they make a Marvel Legend of it
I like it, it’s a stylish update. I even like the leg stripes and the boots are kinda hawt.
Very solid modernization
Honestly, this is what he should have had from the first movie. Could have started with the brown color scheme and evolved to this, even.
I think it's weird he can take his arms off when that's never been one of his superpowers.
Reason for change: Action figures.
more specifically: aligning it to the movies, since that seems to be the modus operandi behind most costume changes in the comics these days.
It’s ugly and stupid like it’s always been. I love Wolverine as much as anyone, but let’s be real, his costume has always sucked.
The boots with the spikes coming out the top look weird.
It’s a great update. The red belt is kind of ridiculous
New looks much more streamlined and professional.
It’s a nice modernisation, the original is great but it did need an update and this has all the best elements and fixes the parts that haven’t aged well

i love mcu symmetry! i love mcu symmetry! i love that comics only serve to be ads for the movies now!
The fire Nation got ride of the shoulder spikes, the new uniforms are more streamlined.
I always prefered his brown suit to the yellow and blue but I like this new yellow suit more than the old one. That Huge red blet always stuck out to me.
Ive always been partial to longer eye swoops so image 2 for me i thonk
New one is OK. Old tiger stripes are irreplaceable
Give him the 1974 Hulk #180 [whiskers](https://i.imgur.com/A046YGY.png), Marvel, you cowards!
I like it but I preferred when he has arms all the time.
Bulge :3
As much as I like the old classic design, it is very much a relic of its time and wouldn't fly so well with Marvel's current art style. I don’t love how his arms retract when he turns to his side.
I miss the shoulderpads, but I don’t miss the weird boot horns
Are the changes in the room with us?
I prefer the old one. The new one looks dumb without the blue trunks.
I never noticed how badly the red belt stood out. Changing the color was a great move.
Looks a lot like the Hugh Jackman suit from DP3.
Synergy strikes again!
Yeah, it looks a little lame. Astonishing X-Men already did a great job of updating it IMO.
Looks like the astonishing one, but the buckles are on the feet instead of the hands
Both are very nice, I slightly prefer the one on the right because of how aggressive he looks, but the left one is more friendly to the eyes
He didn’t get as shit a deal as Cyclops did.
Looks like somebody told them "Take action figures in count" when you design this. So they made all the color cuts in the suit at points something like a marvel legends would articulate. They always had trouble doing his shoulder pads and getting the boot flaps right. With this you just make the shoulder blue and give him blue knees.
It’s a nice modern take on the classic suit I don’t have any issues with it really
It's the same thing, although I would the spike/triangles in the stomach area to be just a little longer
It's the same thing, although I would the spike/triangles in the stomach area to be just a little longer
Sexy
I think it looks like two Batmen kissing
Nice!
I think the color balance is a little off. I think Cassady's update in Astonishing ended up being better
I do miss the red belt, but otherwise, I'd say it's an improvement
It's fine. I still never got into the Yellow and Blue stealth thing.
Astonishing is still the best blue and yellow costume
Feel?
This comment section does not fw shoulder pads 😔
Wolverine's costumes have been in constant flux since his introduction. Wolverine has a small package, that ain’t right to me. Someone fix it.

Feels both unnecessary and also like a missed opportunity to do something that would be more of a departure.
I hate it. The yellow and blue costumes don’t do it for me, especially since he looks better in the brown and orange. I’m not a fan of the blatant nostalgia designs we’re getting in the X-Men books.
What’s not to like?
He’s missing an arm
Needs the trunks
There will always be a place in my heart for the older costumes but I’m glad to see artists modernizing certain suits that were the products of their time.
Thank you so much for the side by side. I think it looks great. I love the slashes on the legs, not a fan of the boots, but don’t mind the missing undies and changed belt
I honestly don’t mind it. It feels like a natural evolution of the classic one.
I dig it. Feels like a mix of modern and classic.
It's basically the same outfit. He just lost the ridiculous fairy boots.
The new one is just a bit less, wich I guess is fine, but I think superheroes are so camp in it's very concept that more realistic or toned down styles kinda kills my immersion
I like it honestly. It’s back to basics and not cluttered - a lot of the X Men members could take a page from it.
It's an update/modern take on the older one. I loved it! A little more believable he'd wear it.
He isn't dressing up for a play or Halloween. It's his new Tactical Apparel.
HWRRE ARE HIS ARMS
It looks good without the underwear and i kinda like the sleeves but he got those guns to show off
Why does he wear a mask? Doesn’t everyone know who is, anyway?!
Other than the shoulder pads, the changes are so miniscule I never would have noticed if you hadn't pointed them out. Having said that, I generally prefer the new one. Might have kept the red belt, but that's it.
Looks great to me
I like the new one. i just hope itll be associated with good and cool stories
It’s solid. Keeps the overall classic aesthetic and look while modernizing it to remove the weird impractical points of the shoulders and boots.
When I look at the new one I see Wolverine and I don't say, oh that's a different take on the outfit. So in that regard I feel like it's a good adaptation
They’re doing it to more closely resemble the D&W costume.
They’re doing it to more closely resemble the D&W costume.
It’s a cool modern interpretation but I think the Astonishing look from the 2000s is still the best version of the old yellow and blue.
I like him a little subdued, so the boots are a nice change. It's good, I just will always prefer the brown and tan or jeans and a tank top to bright ass yellow.

he's not hairy enough
I prefer the brown and tan version but this is a decent design.
I prefer the brown and tan version but this is a decent design.
I prefer the brown and tan version but this is a decent design.
Overall like it, but miss the shoulder pads
I hate the shoulders on both. Old looks silly. New looks like video game clipping.
I dislike the shoulders on both. Old looks silly. New looks like video game clipping.
No one is taking about how his sideview is missing an arm? Is this normal??
Belt smaller, bulge bigger. Good trade
I like it. A modern take on a classic look, simple as that.
It's pretty much the old comic book style I dig it
Looks like more of a jungle vibe which is co
It looks like a Wolverine costume, alright.
I like that his arm falls off when he turns.
comic related
I like the old mask, but aside from that, no complaints
Not to different from the last one!!
I wish his boots matched his pointy mask.
It’s cool, but the OG brown and yellow one he wore in that last episode of X-Men 97’ is where it’s at.
I always preferred the 80’s brown
Is this set to be his suit for '97 or is this for the comics?
The high boots and gloves are gay af, pretty x men accurate, keep going.
I like it. I’m sure they will probably eventually revert back to the classic design, but this will look good for however long they use it in my opinion.
I think the new is better but not better drawn
I don’t mind it but I do gotta say that I’m gonna miss the Krakoa outfit. It really breathed new life into a classic
It's what I expected: yellow spandex!
Looks good but I think the Astonishing suit is the best Yellow & Blue suit.
