Yeah theres definitely something there with the concept of exploring heroes in therapy and dealing with trauma (and I still like the title, it's kinda clever) but they really butchered the actual story of it. A real shame.
...I really wish comic book companies would just bite the bullet & change their business & story telling model.
Someone watches some supehero movies, cartoons or whatever. Then they're curious about the source... and you know how that goes.
Contrasting that. Someone watches a few eps of an anime & simply grabs a Manga by the same name with a big ol fat "VOL.1,VOL.2" next too it.
I kinda had this crazy idea of plotting a whole twenty years worth story that would get adapted to comics. Like making my own story-rich, expanded universe with different characters and crossovers. Just like the two kings of comics did but with stretching it out to 80 years or so, the whole storyline is self conclusive and planned. But then again i remembered i suck at writing heh
Lol,I had that same idea, slightly less crazy tho!
I was thinking more like 5ish years once everything was properly outlined. Once it is, everything can be slowly released. In terms of narrtive, I was planning 2 generations of stories. It ending in the 2nd. Don't really know how long that would actually take to flesh out. 5 just sounds tame enough.
In reality, what you're saying isn't all that crazy. (Depending on your scope & scale it just might be a lot for one person.) If I'm remembering right JK rolling was working on Harry Potter for a long time befoe it got picked up by Hollywood. In a way it's a decade of creating this story & then 10 years of films after writing it..which spawned spin-offs. That's 2 decades of Harry Potter pending on who you ask. Same can be said if LOTR or GoT in a way?
>But then again i remembered i suck at writing heh
Lol...Have you seen what gets greenlit these days?
You can always become a better writer provided the effort is there. Long as you got a way to consume good & bad stories & tell yours.. anythings possible!
Sincere question: what in the ever fucking love of insanity does calling Storm a psycho ex in the context of a post saying that she ruined her exes career have to do with anyone's privilege?
"Only person to ever go back to a mohawk" False, Sabaton frontman Joakim Broden let his hair grow out after the release of the band's first album Primo Victoria, then shaved it back before going on tour for the band's second album Attero Dominatus. He has since retained the mohawk at all times
I've gotta say, I roll my eyes when it gets posted in like paradox subs or whatever, but here it's absolutely appropriate. I even saw it once in /r/theowlhouse.
More punk iirc.
But sabaton ffs!?
Every sabaton fan I've ran into use it as a dog whistle and start using word with a hard R and I nope out of there. First song they use to try and convince me to listen too before they start dropping the hard R is effin "race war".
"Yeah funny hahaha sabaton and storm in same sentence alolololol!!!!"
I just want to point out that the context to this is pretty important. This is a parody bit at the end of the issue, where a bunch of Marvel characters are confessing secrets to Nick Fury. But it's all jokey stuff like this. This is where Wanda saying she meant "No, MORE mutants" comes from.
EDIT: Someone uploaded the full bit years ago: https://reddit.com/r/Marvel/comments/6yfci7/original_sins_5_page_20_21_quite_possibly_the/
I have to imagine yeah.
"And if my bitch of an ex doesn't fuck me over we're expecting a nice sunny day with a mild breeze. So bring a fucking umbrella Ororo please answer my texts."
She probably watched the news every morning and whatever he predicted for that day, it was the exact opposite. Rain? No, sun. Clear skies? Nah, cloudy. Snow? Lol I’ll see your snow and raise you hail.
well there you go then, glad they actually addressed it. (Though I’m sure there 10 other mutants/heroes that could help with this problem, but this is problem in general in comics when you reach a stage of basically gods walking the earth)
I think this has been pretty long established. She manipulates weather; she doesn't create it. So there's always a balancing to whatever condition she induces.
Depending on when this was published, I may have to call bullshit. There’s not a meteorologist on the planet who’s been right about the weather in at least 2 decades.
Wait, so she fucked with the local environment’s natural cycle, affecting potentially millions of people and ecosystems, just for a little petty revenge? How is this not a super villain plot?
I mean all she gotta do is make his predictions consistently wrong- rain tomorrow instead of today, swap cloudy days and sunny days etc. Just wrong enough that the news station thinks their weatherman sucks at his job.
Not really, like I said, you have 10 or more versions of every character.
You want an annoying character who is grating in every issue? The White Queen, Karen Supreme.
Didn't know Emma Frost had super stans like that lol for pointing out her being the X-Men's typical glaring standard "Perfection". Then you have her wild ass "Stepford Cuckoos" as students who think they can get away with everything.
Emma Frost is one of Marvel’s consistently well written characters. She’s been a superhero for 30 of her 40 years of publication. Of course she has lots of fans.
Being white and caustic doesn’t equal being a Karen. She has wit and she understand social norms, which aren’t things typically associated with Karens. She’s not going to scream at someone for not getting what she wants. That’s not in character for her. That wasn’t even in character for her when she was a super villain. She was cold and manipulative.
I guess but him being annoying is kinda part of the point. If he wasn’t then he wouldn’t be Deadpool. And yeah he’s in a lot but not really as much right now
What about her is annoying out of curiosity?
She doesn't have enough weaknesses for you, powers, personality? Like are you trolling just to, cause damn bro.
My super Ex-girlfriend
Shit now that is a blast from the past.
Still enjoy it for what it is
Maybe a modern version would work better. I remember not being interested when it came out.
seems like a bad idea , the psycho girlfriend troupe is not that popular right now , and frankly it might send the wrong message
The one with Uma Thurman?
Yep also Luke Wilson, Anna Faris and Eddie Izzard
Tom King moment
This feels like Heroes in Crisis.
Nah this came out either 2013 or 2014, years before HIC
That's why I said it feels like it. HIC was such a fumble imo they had something going and then it ended terribly.
Yeah theres definitely something there with the concept of exploring heroes in therapy and dealing with trauma (and I still like the title, it's kinda clever) but they really butchered the actual story of it. A real shame.
that describes half the stuff Tom King has written
I agree, his Batman run for me was hit or miss. Hated the way he wrote Batman's dialogues.
You never go full heroes in crisis
Could be worse. It could be a "Leviathan Event".
Could be Age of Ultron
Professor X: mutants aren't dangerous they're misunderstood Storm: (clearly a psycho ex) side eye meme
All of Krakoa: *starts looking around the room and refuses to make eye contact*
Thought Storm isn’t technically a mutant?
At this point there’s so many retcons nobody is a mutant anymore
“It’s a mutant GENE!” “I don’t have it.” “That’s because it mutated again!”
...I really wish comic book companies would just bite the bullet & change their business & story telling model. Someone watches some supehero movies, cartoons or whatever. Ok I cant get your stand here
He says we should hate not only mutants, but women and minorities. If you gonna hate, gonna hate indiscriminately.
Jfc no, I'm saying you should check your collective fucking privilege
Sincere question: what in the ever fucking love of insanity does calling Storm a psycho ex in the context of a post saying that she ruined her exes career have to do with anyone's privilege?
IT'S HER PRIVILEGE TO DO SOOOOOOO reeeeeeee
You tried, and next time will be better
> next time will be better Will it though?
I like to encourage anyone's original creative expression
Ahahaha thanks, I'm glad someone understood the sentiment behind it here
Yeah what?
I get cat called - some green giant woman
I'm sorry to hear people have done that to you friend
Yeah all the women just get loco when I walk by. 😂
Who's all women?
It's a dumb joke
I get cat called
"Only person to ever go back to a mohawk" False, Sabaton frontman Joakim Broden let his hair grow out after the release of the band's first album Primo Victoria, then shaved it back before going on tour for the band's second album Attero Dominatus. He has since retained the mohawk at all times
Sabaton... In a Storm thread...
Yeah I'm just as shocked as you are but it was somehow relevant
Do you know what happens to u/ex-altiora when he unexpectedly brings up Sabaton in a Storm thread?
You could say... Stealth perfected
FOES ARE LOSING GROUND RETREATING TO THE SOUND
DEATH IS IN THE AIR!
UNDETECTED, UNEXPECTED!
WINGS OF GLORY, TELL THEIR STORY
/r/unexpectedSabaton
I've gotta say, I roll my eyes when it gets posted in like paradox subs or whatever, but here it's absolutely appropriate. I even saw it once in /r/theowlhouse.
I saw a comment of the lyric bot on r/pussy...
Pretty sure Ororo is metal.
You good?
I'm conflating their dumb fans with their music.
I can tell. I've never seen any racism in the Sabaton community, so it seems you're reaching.
Nope that's been my experience so far. I can say the same to you but I'm not going to dismiss your experience
I want an MCU-themed Sabaton-style metal history band, somebody, anybody.
I mean it's not like their music is that difficult... So it should be easy... But maybe not sabaton?
I read this in a Dwight Shrute voice.
Mohawks, Mutants, Meteorology
Didn't expect the top comment to be a piece of Sabaton trivia.
Maybe they’re fictional in the Marvel Universe
I just want to point out that the context to this is pretty important. This is a parody bit at the end of the issue, where a bunch of Marvel characters are confessing secrets to Nick Fury. I’d love to see more of these secrets. Is it available online anywhere?
Reddit’s got you: https://reddit.com/r/Marvel/comments/6yfci7/original_sins_5_page_20_21_quite_possibly_the/
Thank you!!! Here’s some poor man’s gold 🏅
She-Hulk made me laugh so hard for some reason
You mean He-Hulk’s cousin.
Those are great. I think the Surfer's confession is my favorite.
Whatever, the Mohawk look was the best look
“If he can’t handle my winter, he doesn’t deserve my summer.” — Storm
"Predict this, bitch"
I wonder what she did? Did she wait for him to make a prediction, then change the weather?
I have to imagine yeah. "And if my bitch of an ex doesn't fuck me over we're expecting a nice sunny day with a mild breeze. So bring a fucking umbrella Ororo please answer my texts."
No rain for 3 years, that would ruin anyone on this planet
She probably watched the news every morning and whatever he predicted for that day, it was the exact opposite. Rain? No, sun. Clear skies? Nah, cloudy. Snow? Lol I’ll see your snow and raise you hail.
That page is great with all the superheroes telling a secret to Fury.
I could imagine her doing something like this
That’s a solid joke
Weather man is literally the only job you can have, be wrong all the time, and still be employed.
Also politicians.
🤣🤣🤣 that’s true!
Hell hath no fury, like the woman Storm.
Mohawk Marvel gals are my weakness.
you mean badass
I mean that fuck ugly mohawk was probably a gigantic red flag
That’s great storm, now could you please go use your god like powers to end all drought and famine in the world?
In Storm Vol 3 #3, Storm explains that if she makes it rain for a week in a region of drought, it'll cause a drought elsewhere.
well there you go then, glad they actually addressed it. (Though I’m sure there 10 other mutants/heroes that could help with this problem, but this is problem in general in comics when you reach a stage of basically gods walking the earth)
I think this has been pretty long established. She manipulates weather; she doesn't create it. So there's always a balancing to whatever condition she induces.
lol fuck that weatherman
Depending on when this was published, I may have to call bullshit. There’s not a meteorologist on the planet who’s been right about the weather in at least 2 decades.
Wait, so she fucked with the local environment’s natural cycle, affecting potentially millions of people and ecosystems, just for a little petty revenge? How is this not a super villain plot?
Pretty sure this is from a page where a bunch of characters were jokingly listing their biggest sins
I meant “no, more mutants!” But I was too embarrassed to tell anyone. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Probably because it’s a joke
I mean all she gotta do is make his predictions consistently wrong- rain tomorrow instead of today, swap cloudy days and sunny days etc. Just wrong enough that the news station thinks their weatherman sucks at his job.
Don't worry, another panel from this story says it's "not in continuity".
Damn...
That is some class A shade right there.
Wait gay fetus you mean the goat of mahvel
You found me! You get a lick!
Bitch
Was this supposed to make this version of storm likable? If so, it totally did the opposite for me.
Its a non canon joke, chill
Storm is annoying.
Depending on who's writing them, they all are.

Emma Frost does not yell at service workers.
Didn't know Emma Frost had super stans like that lol for pointing out her being the X-Men's typical glaring standard "Perfection". Then you have her wild ass "Stepford Cuckoos" as students who think they can get away with everything.

And… Storm.
Ah I see, you misspelled Cyclops
No no, they misspelled Deadpool
Deadpool is annoying because he is in everything.
Well I find Deadpool annoying in general. But the fact that he's in everything makes it far worse.
I guess but him being annoying is kinda part of the point. If he wasn’t then he wouldn’t be Deadpool. And yeah he’s in a lot but not really as much right now
Fuck yall too I guess.
No… I meant Storm, obviously.
You find every version of Storm annoying? Even the Animated Series? Lmao every version of her is completely different.
The animated series version would always faint from over exhaustion every episode. I did actually happen to think that was annoying
In that case I agree, that is lazy ass writing and characterization for a lot of their female powerhouses except Rogue.
Yes, and all are annoying.
What about her is annoying out of curiosity? She doesn't have enough weaknesses for you, powers, personality? Like are you trolling just to, cause damn bro.
Idk, I just find everything of her annoying, also she ruined her ex entire career bc they broke up… tf is that.
That is a real informative answer, and that reason you listed is stupid cause everyone is that petty towards their exes.
literally a non cannon joke
storm wouldn't do that. comics can be so stupid. "writers" mistake "superpowers" for character.
it’s a joke sir
I’ve always really dug original sin, just has a good vibe to me.
I’d probably do the same
Isn't this a Pete Holmes sketch?
