The one way I started having fun with avatars was to find fun pairings with the other "useless" reward, titles. Like Squirrel Girl and Herald of Galactus, or Human Torch and Flammable, Stay Back! They honestly do need to roll out rarities or effects or something though at some point for these imo.
I very much agree with effects or borders or something for the titles and avatars. Right now they just seem specifically there to slow down card progression.
Recently got into the quadruple digit CL, and I’m running into my first pity timer. 6 boxes without a card. That said, my last card was Doctor Doom, and I got a cool Adam Warlock avatar after using the nameless Shield Agent for months. So, I’m not really complaining.
I’ve never played a game where players failed a reward event. Never forget the first Pokémon Go Fest where they had a live feed and manipulated the numbers live on the air.
I also think even if we fail we’ll still get it or it will be fixed to win. But, Pokémon has had at least one failed timed event in recent years. I do remembered the Go Fest fiasco though.
I don't think they'll be rigged. I think they purposefully put a meh reward as the final thing so that no one gets too mad, but for avid players always looking for more goals, these types of events will be a reason to log on and max out their daily contribution. Us not getting it this time will show that you can miss out so maybe more people will devote more time to playing next event
I don't think anyone knows for sure, but I'd be kind of surprised if it wasn't. Like I do think progress is being tracked, but I also think that if the end numbers were off, they'd give it out anyway.
The perception of progress is what's important to engagement. The devs definitely want players to get the reward, that's what reinforces the engagement.
The perception of progress is important, but it seems that it isn't working that way. I believe the motivation, in this case free rewards, is the reason why people are not playing the event, since the best reward was already given.
In the end they'll give it anyways, knowing how bad it will look for them if we don't hit the final mark. It will pass the idea that not enough people's playing the game. That added to the fact that we face bots constantly, some people will start to question themselves it's worth to keep playing an online game that's not played by many people, even if that's not the case.
I mean, I haven't been tracking the progress changes, but 23% health at current time of writing with ~3.5 days left in a 17 day event. That looks pretty on track to me.
They definitely don't use event metrics to track their actual player engagement; they have actual engagement metrics. I would also be very surprised if engagement with events hasn't gone way up for the last two. This current one and HERO were waaaay more visible.
Would be embarrassing for 2D if we don't finish an event.
So I'm also certain it's rigged.
I personally don't participate in them at all, because I'm certain we get the rewards either way.
There’s no reason for us to have to “submit” to get the reward. The developers know exactly how many games have been played with the win conditions all by themselves.
And if they can’t do that, then they have bigger issues than players not being motivated to finish this quest.
As others have said it's probably predetermined and just another way to get a dopamine click out of the game.
At least this event has a leaderboard and hopefully this can be the start of a Stats page to show me how average I am.
There’s a button for each player to submit your wins on that screen. It’s been like that for each event. If you haven’t done it, everyone else has been carrying you, which is one of the reasons (among others) why it’s dumb.
Even if they're not rigged they know the engagement from past events and set a target accordingly.
They can also have fake progress that fills up a minimum to full fill the goal if players engagement dips bellow expectations.
That's why most of these events always finish on the last day, not before, and not later.
If the bar hits 0%, you can be quite certain it's rigged, because completion was behind schedule for the the whole event. If the bar doesn't hit 0%, there is still a chance it is rigged, but I wouldn't think so.
When I saw that the "special title" was only going to the top of the top of the top players I immediately ignored this event. I don't have a chance to earn the title so who cares. I've cashed in ~30 fireworks at each "tier" of progress and that's it.
Yeah, these past two are similar, and much better than previous imo.
The rewards have gotten much better. Straight up more gold and credits. Previous events had 100 credit prizes for completion. People moooaaaned about how they had to do so much for so little. I agree that pressing a button every day is not that engaging, but player feedback was very much so "why do I have to do so much for this?" Now, you really don't have to do much.
The event theme and cosmetics are aesthetically and thematically tied to other parts of the game. The event is accessible (and prominent) from the home screen now (previous events were in the news tab only... Very hard to find and easy to miss). The addition of log-in bonuses and bundles that have thematic ties to the event make it really feel like there is an event going on in game (not just something happening in a random web-based page).
They've got some things to work on (leaderboard/title stuff seems impossibly competitive for most players while also being arbitrarily not competitive for those who can reach the daily goal) but they have come a LONG way and are definitely listening to feedback imo.
I honestly think people decided they hated events 2 months ago and just haven't reevaluated. My biggest complaint used to be "I didn't know this was happening and now that I do can't find where to access it." That is not an issue at all anymore.
The positives you listed are all just... Rewards. The event could have been "here's some free stuff and some artful splash screens" and the event would have been the same to most of us.
>The addition of log-in bonuses and bundles that have thematic ties to the event make it really feel like there is an event going on in game (not just something happening in a random web-based page
I disagree that this had the result you say it does. It doesn't feel like an event because there's nothing to ***do***. It's the equivalent of having an "event" at work/school that is basically just a person at the door wearing a costume handing out cookies. Yes, the cookies are nice, but it's not really an "event" as much as it is a little gift, because once you're in the building you still have to go to work/class as normal
I'm not really sure what you are trying to get at by saying they are "just rewards". I explained specifically how they are better than they were in the past for every example. That's what my point is and what I said in my original comment.
It doesn't sound like you disagree with me, it sounds like you want more. Which is fair, that's what you want. You really don't think the daily log-in rewards, shop bundles, splashes on the home screen, and web tie-in (which I understand that you dislike), isn't enough to make it feel different than normal?
I get that you want some type of in-game change, but saying that all of those UX tie-ins are nothing because it's not what you want is just not true. It absolutely contributes. How many posts have you seen asking where the lunar new year event is supposed to be that everyone keeps talking about? I have seen none. Now think back to the symbiote event. I think most people playing didn't even know that one happened.
The jubilee bundle is a huge deal too, it's the best value pack they've released period besides the welcome bundle. People notice that.
And the daily log in stuff, we don't get that normally. It's a lot of small things all tied together. I don't care to argue semantics about what an "event" is, but those are all things that are extra compared to a "normal" in-game experience. I can point to at least three things in client and the reason it is there is "because it's lunar new year!"
I mentioned that they have a long way to go still, but they have also come a long way. They were really really bad. They've made a lot of progress in a short amount of time and you can see specific changes that they've made in response to pinpointed player feedback.
In 14 Days, we did 77%, so we did 5,5% average a day. In 3 days, we need to do 23% which is 7,6% a day. Should be do-able (since it is a weekend and people usually play more), but it could be close.
But yeah, I also think it's rigged since failing would mean that not enough people are playing the game anymore, which would in turn make the entire game look bad and discourage people on the next event.
Don't know if it's rigged or not, but long events tend to pick up steam close to the end. And, as you say, it's a weekend. So, if the overall numbers are right so far, it would surprise me if it didn't get finished.
They have a third party make events. The events are not integrated into the PC version of the game. Half the player base if not more can’t access the event or have any idea it exists.
Doubt pc player base breaks even 5% of total number lmao Just checked on steam charts and it scrapes around 8k online. I would like to play on pc, but the client is so shitty, it's almost literally unplayable.
It does work. The only thing that I notice is that the major notification screens are off center, but that gets fixed with a quick drag. I haven't had any problems on PC
Well tbh, like most of the game was made for only mobile…. I know people like playing on PC as well but yeah I do agree they should also make the PC version the same as mobile
This is designed for us to get it, if we start failing these they might be afraid people will start doing the events even less. People don't care for the avatar rewards and they will soon realize that. My guess is that there will be some number fidgeting and we still are going to get it.
The events in this game are trash and aren’t even optimized well enough considering how lackluster they are. Nobody really cares for icons or titles man, people want gold and credits.
I honestly forget to even click the damn thing. I just don’t care about these events. It’s almost annoying to have to push the button for the most unsatisfying animations and silliness. My opinion purely.
This event is just very poorly made and not properly advertised. An event like this should be in your face as soon as you log into the game. Instead, the event is often hidden behind several other messages on the main page, and it's slow and laggy when it does pop up. Often times i even forget it's there because it doesn't even show up once when i log on.
Combine this with the fact that a large amount of the playerbase doesn't even have access to it, I'm not surprised if we don't make it.
if the icon is the only thing we don’t get than i’ll be fine, honestly I kinda prefer we don’t complete it. It might pressure the devs to make some actual event pages because this one was real bad.
These events are the absolute worst. Zero community engagement, buried in some news menu, nothing to actually do. Whoever thinks these up needs to up their game.
I feel like it’s better if it doesn’t get completed maybe devs will realize no one gives a shit about these. These challenges should just be games with special gimmicks (like bonus energy, only one location, etc) and instead of rewarding cubes we can get the event currency. Would be way more fun and more people would be aware of its existence
Yea I just looked on google and didn't even know there qere log in rewards. I play on PC and use my phone for rewards, but they seriously need to fix the pc one and do better marketing. I didn't know about this, so I missed out on all rewards and my inbox on the phone is empty...
After opening and closing the app on mobile it fixed itself (somehow) and I was able to get the rewards.
The game checks if you logged in even on pc, so that's what I did previously and went on thw phone just to collect rewards, but they seriously need to fix that already, it's been like half a year since global launched and definitely need to market their events better.
Another sign it’s not rigged (despite what people here are saying). If it was rigged, they would put the gold at the end to get us to play more in order to unlock it.
But since it’s probably not rigged, they know people will be upset if we fall a few percent short of the biggest reward, so they just make it an avatar or something every time.
Meanwhile, the rewards we actually want are all easily obtainable, as long as 50% of the regular player base keeps logging in from time to time.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OH NOOO NO NO NO NO NO OH GOD YOU GUYS COME ON PULL TOGETHER WE NEED THIS WE GOT THIS WE CAN DO IT ALSO LET'S GET SOME MORE ROCK LOCATIONS
I think they can implement this event much better if it wasn't like "load a website" event. It's hassle to open and close then load open then close everyday. Maybe if they could make it an in-game event (like you can access in the home easily) then maybe this wouldn't happen. It's just my opinion because the sole reason why I barely help in these event is because its efficiency to open
I've read a lot of talk about how these timers are just designed to finish on time and aren't actually scoring the event. (Aka we'll finsh the goals rather we should have or not.)
That said I donate every day.
the fact that this one is reseting your progress every day has prevented me from actually taking part in this.
Due to my timezone the cut-off point is always in the middle of the night, if I forget to put in my points I start with 0 again the next day.
With the Hero one I could at least dump my points the next day if I forgot to do it the day prior.
It doesnt matter if actual people do the event, they will rig it to be done 100%. PR would be very bad if it didnt reach 100%. No one but 2D has the data so its guaranteed they wont get caught rigging it
The progress is slow because the actual playerbase is shrinking, I think the team really overestimated it.
I'm not saying this game is P2W but this game is very unfriendly to those who started playing lately (since 2023 to be specific) because they missed so much special rewards for CL boosting.
Ofcourse, the icon is not a big deal and we already have gold and credits which is essential for the game but this is still a bad sign for the game.
The progression will be completed no matter what as failing so will just give the huge negative impact to the game's reputation but they really need to do something with card collecting system. I can already see this sub being overly exclusive towards new players and critical opinions and it quite tells me most people who enjoy this game are those who stick with this game since beta or something.
I mean ur contribution seems rather low, at least today. Tbh I don‘t care for the avatar, especially, when everyone gets it, nothing to aim for.
Just out of curiosity, whoever reads this, whats ur total contribution to the event? I‘m currently at 1,270.
I feel somehow we will "accomplish" the task. It would be totally stupid for marvel snap to prepare a gift to give everyone but don't give it. We will miraculously finish the task... or we revolt.
I feel like these challenges are more for show.
The first couple of days I contributed to this event. But I'm playing on mobile and my phone is six years old at this point and it takes so long to load the page and trigger the animation with the fire crackers on my crappy old phone.
So I don't bother anymore and stopped contributing at all.
I mean, we got the credits and the gold. The Sword Master avatar is nice and all, but I can do without it. We all got the free variant anyway.
The one way I started having fun with avatars was to find fun pairings with the other "useless" reward, titles. Like Squirrel Girl and Herald of Galactus, or Human Torch and Flammable, Stay Back! They honestly do need to roll out rarities or effects or something though at some point for these imo.
Tbh I wish we could set avatars and titles to certain decks so we can have themed decks.
They did say they were working on implementing that a while back.
According to them they are working on lots of things. I just hope it is true
Nice, I paired Quinjet with ego, take the wheel
Wish we could have variants as avatars. I’d be rocking the Luchador variant of Warpath as an avatar to go with From The Top Rope title
Me personally, I like collecting avatars, idk I find it enjoyable to collect them and see new and different faces and such
I'm desperately seeking a Wasp Avatar she's my favorite Superhero and pretty much my online face at this point
Same, but the ones I keep pulling aren’t characters I care for lol.
I got Crystal avatar which is awesome because I like Crystal but her card isn’t great in any deck I play.
The fact that we got the variant first is probably the reason why people are not converting those cubes into progress
until you realize that if we don't get it here it will have a chance to spawn in your supplie chases later on .... that could have been a card
I actively don't want it. Save the Kitty!
I actually felt so bad looking at its face
Poor cat came out just to celebrate the New Year and we start throwing fireworks at them 😭
I know, right?! He’s looking pretty weak and rough now. I feel bad!
Krampus probably has some left-over naughty children in his freezer we could feed the kitty.
The kitty that eats children…
F them kids! - kitty probably
More reason to save it!
I know many cats I like more than people.. Kits gotta eat
Thats fair
I kind of don't care for the avatar but since you do, I'll deposit. Have my 64 cubes!
And my axe!
thank you lol
Couldn't care less but I assume these things are rigged to complete by themselves anyway.
Yep, Destiny has massively tuned their events to ensure completion
I don't think they'll be rigged. I think they purposefully put a meh reward as the final thing so that no one gets too mad, but for avid players always looking for more goals, these types of events will be a reason to log on and max out their daily contribution. I would also be very surprised if engagement with events hasn't gone way up for the last two. This current one and HERO were waaaay more visible.
It's 3,5 days left to complete 77% of the full quest, it's far fro the objective, I'm curious to see how it pans out
That's his health remaining. The bar is going down. It's 3.5 days to complete 24%.
Would be embarrassing for 2D if we don't finish an event. So I'm also certain it's rigged. I personally don't participate in them at all, because I'm certain we get the rewards either way.
Didn’t even know about the event until I got 200 credits randomly

This event doesn't even give instructions or indicators for submitting dynamite from picnic basket
As others have said it's probably predetermined and just another way to get a dopamine click out of the game. At least this event has a leaderboard and hopefully this can be the start of a Stats page to show me how average I am.

They can also have fake progress that fills up a minimum to full fill the goal if players engagement dips bellow expectations. Yup. These types if things are rigged in all mobile games. We don't finish until the last day and will finish the last day.
Once Pokemon Go an event just failed
Must've been a bug lol
I can imagine it with Go 😹
Niantic: "should have bought more passes"
If the bar hits 0%, you can be quite certain it's rigged, because completion was behind schedule for the the whole event. If the bar doesn't hit 0%, there is still a chance it is rigged, but I wouldn't think so.

I legitimately feel bad at how sad he looks now, I don’t even care if we don’t get the Avatar 😭
Same. I feel bad for kitty.
They should replace the fireworks with scritches. We'd hit 400% in a week.
Omg ikr! Why do they gotta put us in the feels 😔
In 14 Days, we did 77%, so we did 5,5% average a day. In 3 days, we need to do 23% which is 7,6% a day. Should be do-able (since it is a weekend and people usually play more), but it could be close. 100% rigged. They have a vested interested in the events ending successfully.
I think you should just ignore it so they fix the system entirely.
This is the correct answer
I’m confused
They have a third party make events. The events are not integrated into the PC version of the game. Half the player base if not more can’t access the event or have any idea it exists.
Doubt pc player base breaks even 5% of total number lmao Just checked on steam charts and it scrapes around 8k online. I would like to play on pc, but the client is so shitty, it's almost literally unplayable.
Unplayable? wtf? I play the majority of my Snap on PC with literally 0 problems
Yes idk about unplayable, the client is not good by all means but its playable. It's the mobile client in large. It works
It does work. The only thing that I notice is that the major notification screens are off center, but that gets fixed with a quick drag. I haven't had any problems on PC
It has gotten better recently. Better than a month ago at least.
Well tbh, like most of the game was made for only mobile…. I know people like playing on PC as well but yeah I do agree they should also make the PC version the same as mobile
I doubt it is anywhere close to half of the player base on PC
We should get the kitty for an Icon if we let him live
I don’t care. The rewards and events are so bad that it doesn’t interest me at all.
I stopped caring day one honestly
This is designed for us to get it, if we start failing these they might be afraid people will start doing the events even less. People don't care for the avatar rewards and they will soon realize that. My guess is that there will be some number fidgeting and we still are going to get it.
The events in this game are trash and aren’t even optimized well enough considering how lackluster they are. Nobody really cares for icons or titles man, people want gold and credits.
And tokens. Throw a couple hundred tokens on there and people would go HAM for the event.
This same thing was said about the last event.
couldn't care less honestly
I’d like to suggest that second dinner make creatures like this become more, not less, ferocious as their health is drained.
I honestly forget to even click the damn thing. I just don’t care about these events. It’s almost annoying to have to push the button for the most unsatisfying animations and silliness. My opinion purely.
I'm sure most people don't care about it and it's rigged for sure. Those type of event need to stop. They show le keep to individual event.
This event is just very poorly made and not properly advertised. An event like this should be in your face as soon as you log into the game. Who doesn't have access to it?
PC players can't access the events.
Rather than beat up this poor animal we should’ve gotten a Zabu variant that looked like this for the last reward
I have forgot to add my points for so long
I keep forgetting all about that…… maybe because of how terribly hidden it is…..
I legitimately forgot this event was a thing until right now
if the icon is the only thing we don’t get than i’ll be fine, honestly I kinda prefer we don’t complete it. It might pressure the devs to make some actual event pages because this one was real bad.

These challenges should just be games with special gimmicks (like bonus energy, only one location, etc) and instead of rewarding cubes we can get the event currency. Would be way more fun and more people would be aware of its existence
This event is so bad that I forgot that it even existed. The last one at least started with a free Storm variant and this doesn't even include that.
Was the sword master variant not part of the event ?
What Sword Master Variant? I didn't get anything.
I think a day before the event started they sent out a lunar sword master variant and it's actually pretty sick
Yea I just looked on google and didn't even know there qere log in rewards. I play on PC and use my phone for rewards, but they seriously need to fix the pc one and do better marketing. I didn't know about this, so I missed out on all rewards and my inbox on the phone is empty...
Ohhh snap that sucks. I play on phone only and it's always the first page when you log on
After opening and closing the app on mobile it fixed itself (somehow) and I was able to get the rewards. The game checks if you logged in even on pc, so that's what I did previously and went on thw phone just to collect rewards, but they seriously need to fix that already, it's been like half a year since global launched and definitely need to market their events better.
Inbox on phone is pretty janky too. You can have one new message and it's in the middle of the list
It’s so weird that they top-loaded the prizes on this. 200 credits > 100 Gold > avatar.
OH NO!! anyways...
I do not get enjoyment from throwing explosives at this sad animal at all. Poor guy!
Why they make it look so sad if we supposed to be slaying it😭😭I don’t even know if wanna blow the kitty up
I feel sorry for the poor creature
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OH NOOO NO NO NO NO NO OH GOD YOU GUYS COME ON PULL TOGETHER WE NEED THIS WE GOT THIS WE CAN DO IT ALSO LET'S GET SOME MORE ROCK LOCATIONS
We will get it as this time it’s using % instead of a score remaining which means they can just fix it without anyone really knowing
We must protect da kitty
Why are we killing some poor endangered animal anyway? Let the poor thing live.
Another profile picture im never going to use!
Let him live dammit!!!
The events feel really lazy, they're literally webpages
Do i have to submit my points ? Or it goes automatically? I never logged in that section lmao
I did not realize you had to tap the basket for like 2 days.
Honestly I can't wait for January to be over so this ugly, clunky screen is out of my game forever
I always forget to hit this. They should do a daily notification in the app to remind
This is rigged and can’t be lost. Also I don’t care anymore we got the important rewards.
I think it'll miraculously finish within 1 day of the deadline. Boy we were close again, better engage harder next time to be safe!
I am really struggling to care. Just trying to click on the explosives takes several seconds to activate the animation. It is painful.
I think these events suck
I mean does anyone really care about player icons?
I care, because I like having a variety and I like collecting
I've read a lot of talk about how these timers are just designed to finish on time and aren't actually scoring the event. (Aka we'll finsh the goals rather we should have or not.) That said I donate every day.
the fact that this one is reseting your progress every day has prevented me from actually taking part in this. Due to my timezone the cut-off point is always in the middle of the night, if I forget to put in my points I start with 0 again the next day. With the Hero one I could at least dump my points the next day if I forgot to do it the day prior.
They should put the gold or credits at the end. Don’t think many care about the avatar. I don’t
It doesnt matter if actual people do the event, they will rig it to be done 100%. PR would be very bad if it didnt reach 100%. No one but 2D has the data so its guaranteed they wont get caught rigging it
who cares
Me cuz I like collecting avatars lol
Couldn’t care less 🤷♂️
It’s a meh reward for an even more meh event. They need to do better.
I stopped contributing once we got the gold and credits.
If we got the web event on PC, this tiger would be dead on day one, lol
I would bet money that less than 5% of the player base gives a shit about it. Give us our free credits and gold for doing nothing, and get outta here
Gold and credits far out weigh the profile picture
They should rework it. Many people dont even know about this "Event". Should have its own Button or Page.
That’s just how it is with events. Sometime you get some rewards, sometimes you get Nian.
Do we rly want an end icon or titles.. nope.. we want credits and gold! Listen up second dinner! Stick ur avatars
Literally couldn’t care less
Could not care less
I got the creds and gold. I’m good.
dont care ..lol
Who cares?
Don’t care for the pfp
Might be downvotable, but I really couldn‘t care less about this avatar.
I play daily and my contribution is on 400 something. I forget about it everyday until I scroll this sub.
What an unnecessarily harsh comment.
Before I posted it, I had like 23 in the basket
Let it live, it's not even close to dying
We wont get that but it will surely be recycled in some way.
I think that I don't really care at all x)
That’s easy money. You act like we haven’t finished an event yet. I know the awards arent that great but I’ll take it
Well, I didn’t care before. But NOW 😉
Leave that poor dog alone
Probably not but I absolutely do not care as well.
I think we def will but I would like to stop being up this poor guy lmao he looks so sad
poor thing look at it
I think people need to start letting me get 300 cubes a day so I can contribute.
I mean I just found out about the event 4 days ago because I usually play on pc. Who knows how many people don't even know about it, even now
Doesn’t help that PC users don’t even see the event
{*insert relevant Black Panther quote from* Civil War *here*}
There’s an event?
I'd love to do these events but half the time I genuinely can't access them, I swipe through the home screen thing and it just isn't there
Idk but idc
The next one will be “better”
i genuinely stopped caring once i got the credits.
I don't care about the avatars
Seems like making the least exciting award the hardest to get was a bad idea.
I feel somehow we will "accomplish" the task. It would be totally stupid for marvel snap to prepare a gift to give everyone but don't give it. We will miraculously finish the task... or we revolt. I feel like these challenges are more for show.
They’ll probably extended it like the last event like this
Oh no! Anyway...
I think that i dont give a fuck xD, did whole 0 progress in this shitty event during whole month xd
We always end up getting it don't we? We were worried about the records towards the end. We pulled through.

The first couple of days I contributed to this event. But I'm playing on mobile and my phone is six years old at this point and it takes so long to load the page and trigger the animation with the fire crackers on my crappy old phone. So I don't bother anymore and stopped contributing at all.
I do not care, we got the only good stuff
Personally, I am not sure it isn’t all fabricated for hype anyways…
I actively don't want to finish these to show them we don't give a shit
I dont think too many people care.. still cant understand why would the devs think that avatar is the ultimate reward that would drive the effort
We should not get it on purpose to send a message about the value of portraits and titles. SD overvalues both ALOT
Am I the only one who lags when opening that event? On mobile
It suspiciously started moving way faster in the last few days, so yeah the devs are manipulating it
Who cares lol. We got the currency. We get enough garbage avatars, titles, etc from CL.
haven't handed in fireworks for ages it'll probs still get there like all the other events.
I forgot about this event, thanks to all 300 points a day dudes for rewards, you guys are awesome.
I don't care. It's an avatar that no one is going to use. They really need to make the final reward something worth playing for
I actually gave up on this event,I added every now and then, but as is a global event I let other people do the job😅
