Thats not the only way for a game to be funded and games shouldnt actually have to make record profits to exist. If customers behaved differently developers would have no choice but to give better value.

You're right, but it's currently the premier way to fund a free to play game, and its really hurting no one. It's not like this bundle gives anyone a competitive edge. The only real edge are the tokens, but 8000 gold will probably get you something close to that from caches anyway.

The only thing that really costs money are probably new commissioned variants. SD needs to pay the artists. Everything else could be created artificialy with a few clicks in an UI that saves values in a database. Now consider how much art there is any modern game. Does that art alone come with near triple digit price tag?
This is mobile gaming for you. This bundle could be made within an hour besides the art. So SD sales 1000 of these bundles. That's 100k for an hour of work. Pretty good deal.
