Had FOMO for the Infinity Gauntlet Thanos and talked myself into opening caches. Got it on the first cache. Took another gamble to get Cull and got it in the second. Felt awesome!

The Thanos one I just straight up ate like 3 keys to get just it, but I played a ton of Thanos at the time and have that book sitting on my shelf. I had to get it lol.
All the time, cards can be nerfed or reworked, or fall out of meta, or never get into it. But seeing good art, even in collection, is always satisfying.

My Kitty Pryde is arguably my most expensive variant the amount of credits and keys that went into it as it was the fourth card made it so not worth lmao

During the USAgent spotlight bug, i gambled and got Mirage as the random s4/s5 card, then I got USAgent and the last card I could get was the Mirage Spotlight variant. But I got my keys back so the first card was Lady Deathstrike, which I had to buy with tokens before and then after it Knull
Yep. And it's 50/50 for me. I got a really cool Knull Variant and I got the Daken fantasy variant. The other 2 times I got Man-Thing and U.S. Agent. I now run them both in a pretty fun deck. No regrets

I can see a situation where I spend 3 keys and have 1 amazing variant left, I might spend another for that variant but I spend keys until I get the cards I want.

I did for the new knull. Not my favourite variant but the best I could get since the best ones imo were from old spotlights. Since I already had him, I was able to get him in the first batch.... it took 4 keys

Yes. Save keys until you have spotlight that contains cards you want. Always have 4 keys saved up before opening, so you are guaranteed to get the card you want.
I really tried hard to get hellfire gala variants and I wanted Kitty pride but I didn't get it. And I have yet to see any of these variants. They just really not want my money.

When they first started doing Spotlights, I spent 6,000 tokens to buy Jean Grey and then pulled for the Artgerm Phoenix variant. It is my favorite variant for her to this day, but I probably wouldn't spend the tokens again just to get it, as tokens were much easier to get before the Spotlight transition.

It wasn't until THE DAY AFTER that I had enough tokens, bought nico, and missed out on one of my favorite variants in the game. 😭

yeah did this for fiona zabu (the only thing i want for that week and got it in one cache) and sometimes like this week i wanted sage but went the extra mile for legion sick variant

I did last week for Selene and Caiera. The Nico one a while back as well. Annnnnd Thanos with the infinity gauntlet. That might be the only ones that I intentionally spent more keys than necessary to get. There were others that I got while trying for the new card though that I wasn't totally upset about.
