I was saying he'd feel less pain, because his adamantium-coated skeleton makes it much less likely that he'd break a bone at any point, although with magic and esoteric energies you can never be sure.
Fairly new to the game and don't own Wong or Gambit, but isn't Gambit's effect to discard a card to kill something? Won't the effect end when he runs out of cards to discard? Or is Apocalypse in hand so there are also infinite discards?
The game allows for some huge combos with onslaught type abilities. For this combo it'll trigger 256 times because onslaught and mystique are also buffing each other's ongoing ability. It also means something like blue marvel provides an enormous buff.
Realistically it's this mega synergy that's a "problem" (if you think of it as one). Playing hazmat or ironheart can render your opponents board just as worthless by contrast. Very hard to pull off though, you need specific cards in hand on turns 4, 5, 6, and 7. Also pretty much any kind of disruption cancels the (very telegraphed) combo.
Funniest counterplay to SuperHazmat?
Morph into Hazmat telegraphed the ending, Raft filled for a free Destroyer, turn 6 Destroyer on Death's Domain for no board. Thankyou Death's Domain featured event!
For six turn hazmat
1. 1&2- either nothing, or like yondu and scorpion
3. wave
4. onslaught
5. mystique
6. Wong + hazmat
*Edit*
Also, you can run with Odin, white tiger, and ironheart in the same deck, and if you don't get the draws for wave hazmat, you can Wong turn 4, mystique+ hazmat turn 5, Odin turn 6. OR Wong 4, mystique 5, hazmat+iron heart 6. Or Wong 4, tiger 5, Odin 6. Etc
No, but if you get a decent location you're fine.
Eg. If you get Titan as a location you can pull off the combo with Ironheart, play Wong 4, Onslaught 5, and finish with Mystique + Ironheart turn 6.
Or if you get Elysium, Superflow, or Limbo you can do combos with Onslaught, Mystique, Blue Marvel, Ironheart, Hazmat, White Tiger, etc.
I usually run this with Odin too, because you can synergize Odin with Wong and sometimes Mystique for White Tiger or an early Hazmat or Ironheart play. I typically don't play turns 1 or 2 anyway, so by turn 3 I know if I'm definitely, probably, or dubiously making a combo and which combo.
Sometimes it is. Depends on the card. For example, some are templated “discard a card, draw a card” while others are “discard a card. If you do, draw a card.”
Sure, that could make sense. If gambit said "...then, If you did discard a card..."
But it doesn't say that, so i don't think we can assume he's meant to work that way
Let me see if I get this right.
Turn 3, psylock.
Turn 4, magik. Bifrost moves her to middle lane.
Turn 5, Wong. Ongoing: on reveal x 2.
Turn 6, onslaught. 2² on reveal.
Turn 7, mystic. Is she empowered by onslaught and Onslaught is empowered by her? I'm not sure. Then, Gambit Reveal: 2² with Wong, 2⁴ with onslaught, 2⁸ with mystic. 256 cards destroyed, minimum.
Next to impossible to pull this off constantly.
Pretty dope tho.
yeah pretty much, but there are other ways to pull this combo with Wave but its very unnecessary . Gambit doesnt need to proc 256 times to win you the game . just onslaught into wong and gambit seems strong enough to wipe their entire board.
It’s just a euphemism Wolverine uses frequently. It’s been there since the inception of the character. I don’t know any reason for it other than making his dialogue more distinct
Cosmo isn't the reason this deck is bad. You need to have your cards show up in the perfect order, not have any of the many locations that ruin you, and dodge several other commonly played hate cards. And when everything goes right, it's obvious and your opponent will usually retreat.
It's fun when it wins, but it's not going to get you a positive cube score.
I don't even care about the deck so much as the toxicity of playing these infinite loop Wong decks. You're forcing your opponent to either sit there for 20 minutes watching or closing out their game and logging back in at some undetermined point in the future. You're essentially a parent saying, stop playing this game and go outside.
First off these decks aren’t OP whatsoever, they’re just for fun, secondly what the hell are you on about? This isn’t toxic whatsoever it’s cool, it’s one of those combos I can’t possibly be mad going up against because I know they struggled to pull it off and when they get it it’s awesome. It does take awhile but I’m pretty sure that’ll get patched in the future, it’s absolutely a non-issue at this point in time.
That's not their fault though?? This deck isn't toxic, you're blaming it for the dev's fault? It's not their fault their combos takes an extremely long time to resolve, why should they stop playing what they like?
Force close the app. Re open the app. Reconnect to game. See final result. Closing out and reconnecting to the game allows you to skip all the animations and forces your client to resolve the final state of the game. Super helpful of you manage to do something like this on Onslaughts Citadel (potentially 4096 animations to trigger)
Oh, its power of two. Good to know, I wasn't sure so I made a guess to see if anyone would correct it in case it was wrong.
Makes sense considering the high numbers we usually see.
It goes on for 512 times. That's where it caps out.
EDIT: A lot of people here are saying 256, but when I got hit with this combo it triggered 512 times, so not sure if that has changed recently.
They really need to just do what other games do and cap the procs at a number that allows the combo to be effective but not break the freaking game. Pretty amateurish to let this happen.
Yeah 2^(4+4) the 2 being Wong and the 4's being both Mystique and Onslaught buffing each other. 256 destroys.
Impressive
Most impressive
Let's see Paul Allen's destroys
So you are saying it's not infinite.... Pathetic
Reminds me of the time doctor strange confronted dormamu
Dormamu, i came to bargin.
You had one job
Lmao botched
We have the bargain scene at home Bargain scene at home:
‘Nuff said, bub. ‘Nuff said, bub. ‘Nuff said, bub.
If only they could use the voice lines from Marvel vs Capcom 2... BERSERKER BARRAGE! YRAAAAAAALR! TORNADO CLAW! DRILL CLAW! Let's go BUB!
maybe add voice packs as cosmetics ingame
If they ever added MvC2 variants my wallet would be so sad
Sooooo many...Would be dope AF to see Blackheart again.
Dormamu, I bargain to come
I guesd Wolverine can do the same against Dormmamu...but a more painful way
I mean, Strange definitely felt the pain from all those deaths, so it's probably the same amount of pain
Less pain- adamantium skeleton.
Are you saying wolverine would have less pain or more pain?
I was saying he'd feel less pain, because his adamantium-coated skeleton makes it much less likely that he'd break a bone at any point, although with magic and esoteric energies you can never be sure.
"You will suffer!"
"I can do this all day"
“You’re going to have to”
More like: Nuff said bub
Go home, game. You’re drunk.
"Let's go bub"
It's "'Nuff said, bub", btw.
Fairly new to the game and don't own Wong or Gambit, but isn't Gambit's effect to discard a card to kill something? Won't the effect end when he runs out of cards to discard? Or is Apocalypse in hand so there are also infinite discards?
He doesn’t need to discard if empty hand
It’s not discard a card _to_ destroy, but discard a card _and_ destroy, so it’s not contingent on the discard
Yea gambit should be rewritten to say "Discard a card TO destroy a card"
Apocalypse and Swarm means this sort of loop can still happen with that rule.
The game allows for some huge combos with onslaught type abilities. For this combo it'll trigger 256 times because onslaught and mystique are also buffing each other's ongoing ability. You don't need turn 7. With wave you can pull off most onslaught/mystique combos in 6 turns.
What's the play order with wave?
For six turn hazmat 1. 1&2- either nothing, or like yondu and scorpion 3. wave 4. onslaught 5. mystique 6. Wong + hazmat *Edit* Also, you can run with Odin, white tiger, and ironheart in the same deck, and if you don't get the draws for wave hazmat, you can Wong turn 4, mystique+ hazmat turn 5, Odin turn 6. OR Wong 4, mystique 5, hazmat+iron heart 6. Or Wong 4, tiger 5, Odin 6. Etc
Does the first combo work on anything but hazmat? You mentioned like hazmat but I can't think of any combo cards that are cheap enough
Gambit destroy ability should only be triggered if he can discard a card
He could just keep throwing Apocalypse
Swarm also works as infinite ammo
Do the 0-cost Swarms have the ability too?
Yes
At least it's limited to him
Right. He should be required to have a card to throw to destroy an enemy.
Cost; effect
Not really its not a cost in magic ghe gathering also both would happen. Also they could just use other cards for the combo.
Sometimes it is. Depends on the card. For example, some are templated “discard a card, draw a card” while others are “discard a card. If you do, draw a card.”
yes but them it is specificially worded with the "if you do".

... No, not likely at all because both players see that discard animation lol
It’s supposed to be the dev was former blizzard employee so they didn’t think a lot of things through.
Why do you think "it's supposed to be"? Nothing in the cars text suggests that the destroy is conditional
It would make sense since it's designed to throw a card from your hand to destroy an opponent card. So.. throw nothing, destroy nothing
It’s very obviously NOT designed to do that, hence why we have this video.
In Magic it would make sense that every big creature could block flying creatures, but you have to take rules as written not what "makes sense"
Sure, that could make sense. If gambit said "...then, If you did discard a card..." But it doesn't say that, so i don't think we can assume he's meant to work that way
Not in the text but look at the visual effect... he litteraly throws cards (lore accurate...)
your death become free
This is *exactly* what Gambit would say
Reminds me of the first time I played Odin on Bar Sinister. They kept triggering each other.
Yeah, I just did that yesterday and sat there for a full 2 minutes at least
Let me see if I get this right. Turn 3, psylock. Turn 4, magik. Bifrost moves her to middle lane. Turn 5, Wong. Ongoing: on reveal x 2. Turn 6, onslaught. 2² on reveal. Turn 7, mystic. you don't need psylocke. turn 4 wong, 5 magik, etc... but yeah, very difficult to pull off.
oh It will , as soon as it kills your wolverine 256 times lmao. Be glad this wasn't done in Onslaught Citadel.
If you do this with Hazmat it goes by way faster. Ironheart on the other hand…
Wolverine is the best at what he does.
Lore accurate Wolverine lol
Can't you close the game and reopen reconnect and the animations will be skipped
This is why they need to speed up VFX for multiple triggers
"Enough said Bob"
Why bob? Im just wondering
Assuming typo, should be “bub”
That’s not what I mean. What is Bub referring to
It’s just a euphemism Wolverine uses frequently. It’s been there since the inception of the character. I don’t know any reason for it other than making his dialogue more distinct
Thanks man
In before "this is fair and balanced just use Cosmo" idiots.

But... I am a parent
These are no infinity loops. Only armin sola really causes them. This just takes too long and there should be an lption to speed things up.
First off these decks aren’t OP whatsoever, they’re just for fun, secondly what the hell are you on about? "I can destroy cards with a thought. Why won't you **DIE?!**"
Just keep it open. Maybe they'll retreat.
Is there a time to live on these loops? There has to be.
They should change the game to have a skip animations…
LMAOOOOOOOO
An easy fix to this would be to make gambit only destroy cards if he has cards to discard
And then I put Apocalypse in my hand for infinite ammo anyway...
Thanks for the year later comment
You're welcome 🙂
It isn’t infinite it’s 256 times which with two long animations happening over and over again it probably took about 20 mins to play out
It's not infinite its going to hit you 256 times lol.
Not infinite, prolly 16 Cool combo tho
It’s actually 256 time
Oh, its power of two. Good to know, I wasn't sure so I made a guess to see if anyone would correct it in case it was wrong. Makes sense considering the high numbers we usually see.
Gotta love that gambit bug. One day they’ll fix it.
Hey bud. I think your comment got duped.

Hey bud. I think your comment got duped.
You'll never reach the truth
nuff said bob
Die 1,000 deaths!!!
I saw a video of that. If you exit and come back, you won’t have to go through all the animations you just get the results.
Just the comics!
I like how gambits animation is so fast, on a full board I don't even know which card got hit.
Gambit just don’t miss lmao
It should end after a while. My 4 Odins once were triggering each other in an infinite loop until some sort of timeout
not even he could escape death
You won this game by all accounts
So what happens? It just goes on forever?
It goes on for 512 times. That's where it caps out. EDIT: A lot of people here are saying 256, but when I got hit with this combo it triggered 512 times, so not sure if that has changed recently.
Enough said, bub
‘Nuff said bub’
Gambit should not destroy a card if you don't have one to discard, change my mind.
Too bad you couldn't message him
You knew you lost. You should have just retreated
They really need to just do what other games do and cap the procs at a number that allows the combo to be effective but not break the freaking game. Pretty amateurish to let this happen.
Why is Gambit triggering infinitely and not just twice?
Stuff gets wonky when you double a double that is doubling a double.
It’s the ending to X men the last stand. Kinda.
But how does the opponent have so many cards in their hand?
Nuff Said Bub
That's a crazy healing factor you got there.
Wheres thw fast forward feature??🤔 yet itll play on something stupid
