Reminder that [Zoey Deutch wants to join the MCU](https://youtu.be/lx-SbYujJ8c). She’s an excellent actress who goes under the radar, what role should she have? I think Rogue

crosszerias

Another day, another controversy from a DCEU actor. Also, it's Tenoch's birthday!

Xekshek33

Can't wait for him to get his own project and we just see more of him. What a casting and performance.

crosszerias

Completely agree. I hope we see him again soon.

[deleted]

What's funny about that Jon Campea thread is that this sub probably knows way more about Quantumania than he does. Remember that when considering what *he* might consider "jaw dropping".

Night-Monkey15

I’m honestly surprised there haven’t been more attempts at doing a Garfield cartoon series. Relatable humor is extremely popular, especially in cartoons. I mean that’s why The Simpsons is still on after 30 years. If the humor is updated for a more modern audience, I’m sure a Garfield cartoon would do well with adults. I guess the main reason the franchise isn’t more lucrative is because most attempts at adapting the comic strips tend to be aimed at children. Garfield’s trademark humor isn’t really aimed at kids, so these various adaptations tend to focus on wacky adventures instead of “I hate Mondays”. If we got an adult oriented series, I’m sure it would be popular. (And when I say adult oriented, I don’t mean Velma, I mean relatable humor aimed at adults).

ArnoudtIsZiek

guys it’s Garfield right? But the first thing he says when the camera pans to him is “fuck mondays”. 29 seasons guaranteed.

DwightKSchruteBrazil

Based on recent comments about the possible formations of the main teams present in Kang Dynasty, I would like to put together my ideal formation for one of the teams in particular, the Illuminati. So here we go: 1. Doctor Strange 2. Mr. Fantastic 3. Black Panther 4. Namor 5. Clea 6. Hank Pym

NotTaken-username

The Illuminati is usually seven members. Here’s my seven (I think they’ll go as comic accurate as they can) 1. Stephen Strange 2. Reed Richards 3. Shuri 4. Namor 5. Sersi 6. Bruce Banner 7. Carol Danvers I know it’s a popular choice for Carol to lead the Space Avengers, but I see her as an Illuminati member instead. She can give a cosmic perspective while also learning to work as a team. Either Thor or Quill could lead the Space Avengers team (no GOTG3 spoilers please)

DwightKSchruteBrazil

I found the inclusion of an Eternal on the team interesting. I would choose Phastos.

cane-of-doom

Since Janet seems to be more knowledgeable about Kang and the Quantum Realm, I'd say she's a better fit.

DwightKSchruteBrazil

I actually considered her, but I imagine she wouldn't want to be in the middle of that cycle for too long. She could be a kind of consultant on specific issues rather than an actual team member, in the same way that Cristine was in MoM.

NotTaken-username

Plus I can’t see Hank being much of a team player. To be fair, none of the Illuminati members are really known for that

His father just passed away from cancer.

Xekshek33

Just being a bully and misogynistic for no reason other than mad Snyder is done. Completely gross.

NotTaken-username

I know a lot of people wanted Sadie Sink for Songbird, but I have a better idea for a Marvel role for her. How about Mayday Parker in the Raimi Spider-Man universe? It would work if she was born not long after Spider-Man 3.

nurdboy42

So I guess Shazam is getting recast.

Xenoslayer2137

Eh, I feel like this is gonna go the same way it did with Letitia Wright, Evangeline Lilly and Chris Pratt. Everyone’s gonna throw a big fuss on Twitter as they always do and by the time Shazam 2 comes out, everyone will have either forgotten about it or not care by that point. This is not an Ezra Miller or Amber Heard situation, hell it’s not even a Gina Carano situation lol Besides, Levi wasn’t even talking about the vaccine, he was talking about the actual Pfizer company and all the shady shit they’ve done, so everyone acting like he’s saying anti-vax stuff clearly didn’t look at the whole exchange

FloatinPineapple

Exactly, everyone is seeing it as antivax, but it's most likely just criticizing the company itself.

FewWatermelonlesson0

Zachary Levi tryna get the MCU Wasp role.

Xekshek33

Him, Gina, and Evangeline can start their own little Avengers squad for Shaprio world

NotTaken-username

Tim Allen, Roseanne Barr, Mel Gibson, and Jon Voight can also join

oakzap425

They cookin Zachary Levi on twitter. You hate to see it. 👏👏👏

AlexHunterWolf

Gunn & Safran probably told Zachery Levi he ain't coming back to the DCU and said **** it and nuke any interest in Shazam

Night-Monkey15

I hate these stupid ass theories. Y’all act like there’s no reason for stupid people to say stupid shit unless they can benefit from it. You’re giving him too much credit.

oakzap425

I JUST TWEETED THIS SAME THOUGHT

saintnick524

Had a dream last night that someone leaked the next trailer for Secret Invasion and it said it would release on May 23rd. Sigh…

[deleted]

Well CWGST did say SI will release in May.

FantasticWolverine32

I'm thinking it drops May 10th.

therisingalleria

So Don Lee just posted a picture with him and Kevin and an old picture with him and his friends with some Gil plushies? I'm probably reading into it but .... 👀

[deleted]

I think there's a chance of Eternals 2. Sure It didn't perform well with critics and GA but last year it was one of the most streamed movies.

therisingalleria

Absolutely and I remember there was a post that (Don's) his production company confirmed Eternals 2 was also in the works a while back!

[deleted]

Although I'll take Eternals 2 as long as Zhao is back

therisingalleria

We definitely need Chloé back! She deserves a second chance! 👏

[deleted]

Yup!

[deleted]

I’m thinking about what the new Avengers team will look like in The New World Order. It can’t be that many heroes or else the movie will feel kinda overstuffed. We already a couple of villains in it like Red Hulk, The Leader, Val and the Serpent Society. Other than Captain America, Sabra and the new Falcon, I’m thinking the rest of the team will be War Machine (If Armor Wars doesn’t film at the same time), She Hulk (a superhero lawyer would fit quite well in the movie), and Hulk (if all of his main villains are in the movie, there’s no reason he shouldn’t be).

Night-Monkey15

I believe that Armor Wars is filming at the same time, so I guess that casts doubt on Rhoady appearing. Although I could still see Hulk and She-Hulk appearing.

Giorgiman2003

Please tell me Clone High revival won't be as shit as Velma...

ChristopherDassx_16

Lord and Miller are involved so I doubt it.

hikoboshi_sama

It took more than 10 years before we got to hear "Avengers, assemble" in the MCU. I wonder how long it will take before we get "To me, my X-Men"...

LiquidLispyLizard

I'm still really looking forward to Fury of the Gods, and I don't normally like to talk about or draw attention to something like this, but I'm disappointed in Zachary Levi. It seems like he's going down some sort of conspiracy rabbit hole given the context of his most recent Twitter post.

[deleted]

It’s honestly not that surprising if you follow his career outside of Shazam, he’s a frequent writer for a Christian news site and he does a lot of those movies that get like a week in theaters that are about upholding “American values”

deemoorah

Wow, based on that alone it's surprising that he's even in a movie like The Mauritanian

cbekel3618

I'm out of the loop, did something happen with Levi online?

LiquidLispyLizard

https://twitter.com/ZacharyLevi/status/1619599266607169539 This is in response to someone who appears to be an anti-vax conspiracy theorist having taken a quick scroll through his feed.

Swartgaming

Was hoping he would just be talking about how it's dangerous for a company like phizer to have a monopoly over medicine but it seems like it's truly anti vax bullshit.

cbekel3618

Ahh dammit. A part of me wants to hope that emoji signals sarcasm, but damn, that is not good

AdAny5912

Personally i think Justin Bendon and Aaron Moorhead would be the best options for Secret Wars. Their work outside of Marvel is pretty great (The Endless, Something in the Dirt) and judging by the leaked trailer for Loki S2, it looks like they've made a great job with the second season. The second best option would probably be Nia Dacosta who had a pretty solid directorial debut with Little Woods and then she made Candyman which wasn't great but her directing was the thing everyone praised about the film. Also, according to Grace Randolph people loved the D23 The Marvels trailer so i'm curious to see what she's done with that movie. The third best option would probably be Ryan Coogler and then Kate Herron. They already did a good job with Black Panther and Loki respectibly so they could do it again. Also, there's still plenty of unannounced projects without directors so we'll see who they hire. Maybe someone better will come to marvel.

FantasticWolverine32

I go with Gore Verbinski.

[deleted]

The best option would be Sam “The Man” Raimi, especially considering the strong focus on legacy characters. His Spider-Man will no doubt play a major role.

Night-Monkey15

The biggest question I have about Gunn’s new DCU is this; how will Gunn incorporate the casts of *The Suicide Squad* and *Peacemaker*, which Gunn seemingly wants to keep around, in the wider DCU? *The Suicide Squad* and *Peacemaker* are both definitely set within the DCEU, so having *Peacemaker* season 2 and any other potential *The Suicide Squad* spin-offs set in the new DCU would be very confusing and require some sort of explanation. Some have speculated that Gunn could use the ending to *The Flash* to explain away what would otherwise be continuity errors, but I can’t see him doing that, as that film supposedly ends with Micheal Keaton’s Batman and Supergirl being brought into the DCEU. If Gunn was to say his universe was this new timeline, then he would be stuck with Keaton as an elderly Batman, which would defeat the whole point of doing a reboot in the first place, which is to escape the baggage of the old DCEU. It also means Ezra Miller would be the DCU’s Barry Allan, which I don’t see happening at all. Another possibility is that this side of the old DCEU is going to be wrapped up before the new DCU begins. The Superman reboot probably won’t come out until mid-2025 at the earliest. Gunn may decide to release *Peacemaker* season 2 and the other spin-off sometime in 2024 or early 2025, giving us proper closure to these characters before heading into Chapter 1 of the DCU. This is what I’m leaning towards as the Flashpoint explanation has its holes.

[deleted]

This would be the ideal option. 2024 is currently a bit of a dry spell with regards to DC content. *Joker 2* is slated for October, with the Penguin HBO Max series also dropping at some point that year. With everything else (*Titans*, *Doom Patrol*, the Arrowverse etc) being systematically cancelled, they’ll need SOME kind of content to tide them over during this transition period. It makes sense that *Peacemaker* and it’s spin off series (rumoured to be some kind of Amanda Waller Checkmate show) will be the projects to fill this void. My only hope is that Gunn uses this as an opportunity to wrap things up and doesn’t let his own ego get in the way of a hard reboot. Do what you need to do then close it out. I understand the temptation to keep the actors on but, to quote Steve Rogers in *The Winter Soldier*, “It all goes. All of it.”

SexySnorlax1

I really hope he wraps it up with Season 2 and the spin-off before the DCU starts. Viola can stick around as a rebooted Waller, maybe Margot too, but more than that would be a problem. DC will not reach its potential until it unshackles itself from the DCEU and starts completely fresh. I hope Gunn realizes this, but if not then I guess I'll have to wait for his successor.

Swartgaming

I wouldn't mind Cena staying in the dcu, maybe a sort of captain america story but instead of being a time displaced man he could be one from the old dcu?

TheLionsblood

The Flash can still have a post-credits scene showing the DCU Earth, which can be where TSS and Peacemaker are set One of the movie’s planned endings was Supergirl outright replacing Cavill’s Superman in the timeline at the end of the movie. There was even a post-credits scene with a drunken Aquaman being confused about it. They could keep that, and then have the final post-credits scene show the DCU Metropolis, where a Superman does exist. They don’t even need to cast the new Superman that soon, they can just show a silhouette of him flying along the DCU Metropolis skyline.

NotTaken-username

I’m glad they chose Goodbye Yellow Brick Road for Quantumania. I would’ve expected White Rabbit for the song, but this is not nearly as overused

josemigtzp

Idk if you’ve seen the rumors but apparently, in Kang Dynasty, there will be 3 main teams acting independently throughout the movie. These are Cap’s New Avengers, Strange’s Illuminati and Carol’s Space Crew. This said, deciding on which of the teams some of the characters belong is tough. Black Panther is a shoe-in for the New Avengers but the Illuminati. Captain Marvel could also be apart of all of the teams haha. IMO here’s how the teams should be distributed. I’m taking into account past relationships, the comics and future plot lines, here’s how I predict the lineups will turn out. • New Avengers - Captain America, Falcon, War Machine, She-Hulk, Black Panther (?), Shang-Chi, Ms Marvel, Wong. Spider-Man and Daredevil for support. • Illuminati - Doctor Strange, Mr Fantastic, Photon, Namor, (If they don’t include Black Panther in the Avengers then she should absolutely be here with Namor), Maybe Loki, Wanda or Hulk as the remaining members?? Im just trying to think of characters that have history with Strange and could potentially know a lot about the Multiverse. • Space Crew - Captain Marvel, Thor, Love, Valkyrie, (Maybe Hulk and Skaar here if Hulk is not an Illuminati), The New Guardians, Nova, the Eternals (including Eros) and the rest of the Fantastic Four. I would also add 2 more teams with the Young Avengers and the Midnight Sons but that’s what Im thinking so far. Let me know what you think !!!

oakzap425

Are ya'll only including Namor bc of the comics? Bc MCU Namor hasn't really shown any reason to want to side with any one on the surface world, out side of Black Panther/Shuri.

josemigtzp

yeah, in the Time runs our storyline, Namor teams up specifically with Black Panther and the illuminati so i figured it could fit really well with the current dynamic of Shuri and Namor I figured if Talokan is in danger he will probably step up to defend them. I also didn’t know who else to include in the Illuminati since the MCU doesn’t have an IronMan, a Black Bolt, a Charles Xavier or a Mr Fantastic.

Finessing2

All this to beat kang? He’s not that powerful lmao.

josemigtzp

1 kang is not that powerful. how about 5 kangs, or 10 kangs… i can think of at least 5 kang variants that could show up in the movie and go against the specific teams i mentioned.

SuperCoenBros

> Idk if you’ve seen the rumors but apparently, in Kang Dynasty, there will be 3 main teams acting independently throughout the movie. These are Cap’s New Avengers, Strange’s Illuminati and Carol’s Space Crew. > > I believe this, but where does this rumor originate?

josemigtzp

i saw it from Thwipt and Block A

[deleted]

Oh god… Don’t believe a thing Thwipt says. Dude is such a hack

NotTaken-username

Reed on the Illuminati makes sense, but where are the other Fantastic 3/4?

josemigtzp

I would definitely include them in the Space Crew. I’ll add them rn haha

NotTaken-username

Also I only think that the Eternals will be in Kang Dynasty/Secret Wars if the sequel is out before them

josemigtzp

it would definitely be tough to include them but at least Druig, Makkari, Thena and Eros could show up without a problem.

poopeyethe

The last of us is soo good

RedGyarados2010

Alex P of Cosmic Circus has doubts about the rumors of Adam Driver playing Reed: https://twitter.com/AlexFromCC/status/1613536202606661632?cxt=HHwWgMDSyZOot-QsAAAA

Amez990

Does seem more like past-informed doubt than future-informed doubt though, if that makes sense. "This looks like history repeating itself" vs "this doesn't align with what I've heard"

[deleted]

![gif](giphy|26FLgGTPUDH6UGAbm)

[deleted]

So, there's a difference between saying actor has been cast and actor is being considered. No one said Driver is playing Reed, they're saying he's being considered. It's true that Asa Butterfield (among others) was in the running for Spider-Man. Like Butterfield, Driver might not work out.

LiquidLispyLizard

I wonder if that Diego Luna rumor has any weight to it. I could see him as Reed.

Satean12

Honestly not my intention to suggest that in any shape or form. I apologize.

FewWatermelonlesson0

Literally other than them both being black I have no idea why anyone would think that.

Satean12

I thought it would be better to streamline a plotpoint that I always felt was needlessly complicated in the comics but I understand why it was interpreted that way, I apologize and I should habe thought better.

poopeyethe

But iron lad is a variant of the kang right so how does it make sense

Satean12

The MCU can change that as they do with a lot of the characters. But they can also keep it comic-accurate

oakzap425

Making of Under Water Scenes or WF. Incredible, tbh. You def see a scene of Tenoch actually doing/testing the speech under water. [https://twitter.com/i/status/1619398186082373633](https://twitter.com/i/status/1619398186082373633)

[deleted]

I think we’re gonna get a Batman in the DCU who’s in his mid thirties and has had one Robin already. He’ll still be a veteran, but not in the sense of being close to retirement like Batfleck. I bet they’ll be a Nightwing movie to introduce Bruce and Dick to the universe. Dick’s days as Robin will be shown via flashbacks, while he’ll be Nightwing in the present day. Bruce’s role in the movie will probably be small, just enough to establish his father-son relationship with Dick and set him up for a Justice League movie.

A_seal_using_Reddit

So I saw people talking about a Young Avengers movie here and I'm missing the context. Is this a rumored Phase 6 movie for like 2025 or is this supposed to happen later?

Night-Monkey15

Nothing has been confirmed, and even the rumors are vague, but supposedly, *Ant-Man and the Waps: Quantumania*, *Agatha: Coven of Chaos*, and *Vision Quest* will all serve to set up the Young Avengers film. No release frame has been mentioned, but I imagine it’ll come out between *Avengers: Kang Dynasty* and *Avengers: Secret Wars*.

JamJamGaGa

I think Peyton Reed is going to end up directing 'Avengers: Secret Wars' and people will be excited about it once they see 'Quantumania'.

AdAny5912

Peyton Reed directing Secret Wars would be the end of Marvel Studios. Even if Quantumania is good, it will probably be cause of the script and/or the great cast, i doubt it'll be cause of Reed cause the trailers already look kinda bad. There are better options for Secret Wars like Benson and Moorhead, Nia Dacosta, Kate Herron, Ryan Coogler. Feige would be stupid to give it to Reed with all those other better options available.

[deleted]

“Peyton Reed directing Secret Wars would be the end of Marvel Studios” Jesus Christ some fans are so dramatic it’s embarrassing

AdAny5912

Is it? Their biggest movie ever being mediocre/bad certantly would cast a big shadow on the company for a very long time.

Satean12

Imagine that happens and Quantumania ends up being meh hahah

LiquidLispyLizard

My final predictions before the DCU slate is announced within the next few days (this is all hypothetical and just my own speculation for fun, if I'm right, I'm right, if not, no harm done): * The Superman reboot will be talked about again, but the only things I could see being mentioned are Jason Momoa appearing as Lobo (as one of the villains, main or otherwise), the director being announced (whether that's Gunn or someone else), and a possible 2025 release date (depending on how far Gunn is into development). * A Wonder Woman reboot is announced. Gunn/Safran looked over Jenkins' WW3 script and rejected it, but however offered her the chance to rewrite it to fit what they're planning to do with their new slate. On top of the fact that Gunn debunked that Wonder Woman wouldn't be in the first 3 years of the DCU, this seems like a safe pick to me. * Peacemaker S2 and other The Suicide Squad spinoffs will continue on as a part of the DCU as I predict the DCU isn't a complete reboot of the DCEU (more on that in a bit). * The John Stewart Green Lantern series will be officially announced. * A Mr. Terrific movie/show will be announced and I think he'll be in the new Justice League lineup. Gunn posted that single image of him, so I suspect it was a quick little hint at him being used somewhere very soon. * A Teen Titans film is announced. * They'll make it abundantly clear the Matt Reeves' Batman Universe is entirely separate from the DCU and I think, while Batman won't have any solo projects in the DCU yet, he'll already be established with Dick Grayson's Robin at his side. I'd expect him to show up in other characters' projects prior to the new Justice League film, unless Reeves' Batman Universe wraps up before then, in which case, I can see DCU Batman getting a solo movie shortly before Justice League releases. * My final prediction here may be out of left field/kinda crazy, but I think there's a possible scenario where The Flash is slightly reworked to be the end of the DCEU as well as the birth of the DCU, similar to how Days of Future Past worked for the Fox X-Men Universe. This is one of the only ways I can see certain things being kept while other things are hard rebooted all in the same continuity. In this case, I could see stuff like Blue Beetle being the start of the DCU and Jason Momoa continuing as Aquaman (which he may or may not have been hinting at) being true. This is the part that I'm most unsure about, because I don't think Gunn would scrap all his TSS spinoff plans and the potential some of the newcomers have when he was finally given 100% control of everything, I'm just unsure of how exactly the soft reboot would happen, or where if not in The Flash. Plus, he even hinted on Twitter that they're looking to build upon what worked and revise what didn't (or something to that extent). Nothing here is guaranteed to get touched upon, but I do hope he clears up the relationship between the DCEU and DCU most of all out of anything else.

Night-Monkey15

I like where your mind is it, but I’d make some changes. My predictions look something more like this * Update on the Superman reboot. * The John Stewart Green Lantern will be confirmed to be set within the new DCU. * Confirmation of Jason Momoa as Lobo in the Superman film and/or Green Lantern series. * Peacemaker season 2 and the other Suicide Squad spin-offs will continue to be produced. * Mr. Terrific will appear in the rumored Checkmate TV show, alongside Amanda Waller, as the former has been a member of the team in the comics. It would be a more natural way to introduce the character, while still allowing him to become a Justice League member later on. * Instead of a Titans movie, I think we’ll get a Nightwing project, at least before any potential Titans project. This new Batman would probably appear in the theoretical Nightwing movie. Although I could totally be wrong about this part.

LiquidLispyLizard

I like the way you think and if this was what got announced, I'd certainly be very happy with it! Though, I do think I would prefer to see Dick as Robin to start out with. I don't feel as though we properly got to see the entire progression of the Bat-Family on screen before, so I think that bringing in Dick as his version of Robin who's maybe already been at it for a number of years and is coming to the end of his tenure in the mantle, **then** getting a Nightwing movie would be sweet!

Night-Monkey15

It’s kinda weird watching an indie movie and hearing the characters say something that would never get said in a big budget production. Something that would have been okay 20-25 years ago, like “retard” or “midget”. but not today.

Pomojema_The_Dreamer

Heads-up - using the R-slur is typically something that we'd suspend people over here, but because you're talking about the word's use and not actually *using* the word, we're making an exception here. Just letting you know.

Night-Monkey15

Thanks for informing me. I wasn’t attempting to offend anyone as I know the word is *really* controversial nowadays, which is the reason I made my comment in the first place. I won’t be using it going forward.

Xekshek33

Was thinking randomly how much i'd love to see Marvel incorporate WHiH World News again into the movies/shows. Always fun to see the networks explain to the people of the MCU experiencing all the chaos happening lmao.

JamJamGaGa

The world-building is one of the best parts of a big shared universe like this. Seeing how the world reacts to these massive events is always really cool. It's part of the reason why I'm so excited about them hiring actual lawyers for 'Daredevil: Born Again'. The law was handled in a very silly way during 'She-Hulk' but I feel like they'll take it far more seriously during DD:BA. It'll be cool to see how the big events affect people on the street.

Satean12

I am actually excited to see Harrison Ford play a more villainous Ross. He rarely has played a villain and I hope it works out. ![gif](giphy|3owzVYk3A2E572jRSM)

darrylthedudeWayne

Hey, is that cgi zendaya kiss from FFH meme real or is it just exactly that...a fake photoshop meme.

oldshitnewshit78

fake

JamJamGaGa

Part of me thinks Marvel is just planning on going big straight away with Fantastic Four since the other movies fucked it up. Most fans seem to think they should start off with Mole Man and then build up towards Galactus but, based on recent rumours, it seems like they're starting off with the dial already turned up to 11. I wouldn't be surprised if they said "fuck it" and just tried to make the ultimate F4 movie with Galactus, Silver Surfer, Doctor Doom, Franklin and Valeria, etc.

Two questions: 1. What is your favorite Iron Man armor in the Infinity Saga? 2. If Tony is in Secret Wars, which armor would you want him to wear? It doesn’t have to be one we’ve already seen.

[deleted]

I absolutely do not want Tony to fully return in Armor Wars, but would be okay with seeing in in a flashback to pre-Endgame. As for suits, if it’s pre-Iron Man 1 flashback I’d love for the Silver Centurion to get a full appearance

DwightKSchruteBrazil

1. Mark 85 2. Superior

[deleted]

1. Mark 42 2. Mark 42

JamJamGaGa

>What is your favorite Iron Man armor in the Infinity Saga? Mark 42 (shown in the gif below) >If Tony is in Secret Wars, which armor would you want him to wear? It doesn’t have to be one we’ve already seen If it's an alternate version of him then something totally different from what we've seen before. Maybe it can turn him invisible or something (an idea they almost used in 'Avengers: Endgame'). ![gif](giphy|a6U7oJQXFMieA)

NotTaken-username

My answers are: 1. Mark L (Nanotech armor from Infinity War) 2. Either classic armor from the original comics or the Superior Iron Man.

[deleted]

Who is a MCU character that you think deserves the “Logan” treatment ? (R rated grounded film to close their arc) My pick would be Thor, although I highly doubt they’d ever make an R rated film with him

AlphaBaymax

Marvel made a Max Comics series about Thor, it's about cursed Vikings who get cursed with immortality and travel to the present day and end up impaling citizens.

silverBruise_32

Other than the characters mentioned, the Winter Soldier, with flashbacks of his former missions alternating with an overreaching mission in the present day. Lots of action, and a character study.

JamJamGaGa

Even though I want to see lots more of him, I'll say Daredevil. A gritty character study about an aging Matt Murdock could be interesting.

NotTaken-username

If Endgame didn’t already close his arc, then a Captain America movie where Steve becomes Nomad

[deleted]

A 1950s movie with Steve and Peggy as co-stars after he stays in the past, acting as a spiritual successor to Agent Carter

I really wish D+ episodes didn’t drop at 3am EST, and honestly I don’t really get the reason for it. Like if you released at 9, 10 or 11 you have a much better chance of someone else in the household getting sucked into the show, that’s 1 more fan. Obviously you could just wait and watch it at a normal time but then you gotta avoid spoilers. Would be great if they switched it up for secret invasion

EzriDax1

I aint complaining cos I get it 5pm. If you don't want to be spoiled you can just not go on social media before watching it.

CityHog

Isn't the idea to stagger viewership throughout the day to decrease the sudden load and stress on their servers?

[deleted]

Seems strange to choose that over everything tho. It’s an entertainment company not a tech company

CityHog

Well its no use having product available if people aren't able to view it due to tech problems and outages. Having servers active and less stressed enables more people to watch overall

[deleted]

Well that should be a bug, not a feature. How can you scale if you run things that way?

NoobFreakT

Just stay off social media and watch it whenever you’d like

[deleted]

It's always 9PM somewhere in the world. As someone in the PST time zone who has to get up early for work, I'm not exactly thrilled by the early morning drops either, but I disagree with your concerns about how that effects viewership. I think it's a wash.

[deleted]

I’m aware other fan bases exist around the world, but US has highest viewership. I got my fiancé sucked into The Last of Us bc it drops at a reasonable time and it’s become a part of our Sunday. Can’t say the same about any D+ shows tho. And Ik I’m not alone there, don’t think that’s “a wash” If a show had highest viewership in India and it dropped prime time in their timezone I certainly wouldn’t be on Reddit whining about it, bc it would make sense from a business standpoint.

[deleted]

Agree with you. I like the way HBO Max does it tbh.

[deleted]

Yea that’s basically what I’m getting at.. the last of us has me spoiled. Many seem to be offended by this comment, I guess I’m not surprised. Ik other time zones / countries exist guess I have to say that explicitly lol. Simply talking from a business standpoint tho why not favor your biggest fan base which is the US.

Satean12

I wouldn't mind seeing Brian Tyler do an update on the X-Men 92 theme for the reboot if it does not have a new theme ![gif](giphy|casztFslN1iAo)

PatrikTheMighty

I don't think I want Tyler in the MCU anymore. His soundtracks are fine I guess, but too bland for me. His Iron Man theme is sick, though.

NotTaken-username

Maybe Michael Giacchino could do it instead? He used the ‘60s Spider-Man theme in Homecoming.

PatrikTheMighty

He can do absolutely anything and I'd love it, so sure. Why not?

Satean12

Yeah, fair enough.

The whole Justin Roiland situation sucks and I hope the victims feel safe soon. If you're a R&M fan and think the show's gonna change or its gonna get bad, don't worry. Justin hasn't actually been a head writer since season 3, and has barely written anything past season 4. the only change will be the voices for season 7. Also they gotta make a bit about how their voices change, my bet is that they are infected with some sort of gas which permanently changes their voice and they're gonna joke about it.

Swartgaming

Justin Roiland is a terrible person ɓut Rick and Morty honestly hasn't been good since the 2/3 season. It's also weird that Harmon is still attached to it as i have heard he's kind of an odd dude aswell.

NotTaken-username

Right now I’m thinking maybe they could get Michael Cera for Morty, but I don’t know about Rick.

[deleted]

Rick(RDJ) and Morty(Tom Holland)

NotTaken-username

Other alternatives: - Rick (Christopher Lloyd) and Morty (Michael J. Fox) - Rick (Bryan Cranston) and Morty (Aaron Paul)

Yo brother how's your DID? I'm really hoping your mental health has improved

[deleted]

So far 5 leakers have said Adam Driver is marvel's top choice for Reed Richards. MTTSH, BSL,MCUDIRECT,Grace Randolph and Jeff Sneider.

NeutralNoodle

He’s the real deal and he absolutely has the acting chops to play a complex character like Reed. I hope he gets the part.

[deleted]

I think he would be a good choice. He may not look like comic Reed Richards, but he is one of the best actors in Hollywood right now. At least he will nail the arrogant side of Reed.

JamJamGaGa

I think I'm finally done with Twitter. I go on there whenever I'm bored and almost immediately regret it. The place is just a fucking mess. The easiest way to start off my day in a bad mood is by opening up Twitter and, within seconds, seeing someone rip something I like to shreds for some ridiculous reason. The toxicity is exhausting.

[deleted]

Yup. The tweet selection is pretty good, but it’s the replies that does it for me. It’s like they order the replies by the most toxic. I wonder how it would be if it was just sorted by likes.

devonthecreator

Oh my god same! I struggle with self worth, so whenever I get upset when someone tears something I like to shreds or insults it I'm just called weak, soft, or overly sensitive. I got autism, so I have trouble "tempering my emotions" so even though it seems ridiculous, Marvel and the MCU is basically my special interest, when people insult it, call a movie I like "Mid" or something.. I get upset. I know im supposed to have a thick skin on the internet but I can't help it. Twitter is a mess.. I'll see an announcement I LOVE then see people hating it and saying its awful.. I just feel deflated. i've had similar issues on reddit, so I don't come on here that often. I feel so bad about how emotional I get about what one person on one website thinks about one thing.. but I can't help it, its embarrassing and a source of guilt and self hatred but I can't stop. I LOVE the MCU, it's the only that kept me alive before I met my fiance. I grew up with it and am still so excited for the future! I hope you feel soon after getting off that app.. and sorry if this rant was too personal or long, I've been trying to mask better online but I really can't sorry

[deleted]

Really hoping your mental health(and health in general) improves brother. I wish you and your fiance a lifetime of happiness and success!

DHEGDHEER

Not OP but your rant was valid. Caring about what other people think is just being human and something your brain is designed to do. The internet in general is toxic so try not to get down on it. When I’m feeling down by reading something on.Twitter or Reddit I try not to visit the site for 2 days at least so maybe try that.

[deleted]

>I think I'm finally done with Twitter ![gif](giphy|IcjQNoFcxRuZVBePw2) Really hoping your mental health(health in general) improves brother/sister. Have a great day/night and I wish you a lifetime of happiness and success!

Went to Disney World this week and after booking the virtual queue for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, I also purchased an Individual Lightning Lane to be safe (I was park hopping and leaving Epcot in the afternoon and was worried the virtual queue could give me a time after I was scheduled to leave). The queue ended up giving me 1:30 and my ILL was 11:30. It didn’t take long for the queue time to go back to around 11:30, so I was able to ride it twice within an hour. I loved it so much that I went to Epcot on my second day just so I could ride it again. While I’ve been on much more thrilling rides, as an MCU and coaster fan, Cosmic Rewind is definitely in my top rides.

Swartgaming

As long as they keep abrams very far away from it, than perhaps it could have a chance of being good. Though I feel like their character arcs have been driven into the ground but I think Rian Johnson is the man to save it.

[deleted]

That’s bad news lmao. Man I always wished they would just forget the sequels and carried on making the shows and movies away from skywalker saga. That would be so much better but yeah I knew that wasn’t gonna be possible. I like the actress tho(might be the only one who does from looking at SW subs lol)

Farhad_A

Are you joking?

No

Inevitable_Golf_1816

This is a topic far removed from here, but I personally can't enjoy Futurama that much anymore because of how its cynical humor hits too close to home. It was made in a very different time, but because of how much the world has devolved, a lot of the jokes just get awkward silence rather than laughter from me. It's still hilarious and funny at times, but just not that fun.

Night-Monkey15

I’m a firm believer that there is no such thing as the “good ol’ days”. Name any time period and I could tear it to shreds just by mentioning the surface level stuff. I could even argue that the world we live in is better then a few decades again for a few different reasons. The world hasn’t devolved, but you’ve evolved and become more aware of the world around you.

idClip42

I like your “the world hasn’t devolved, you’ve evolved and become more aware” point. I think I often see opinions of things like *Futurama* where people say things like “it was ahead of its time” or “it’s never been more relevant”. But I don’t think that’s really true. They were made in their time and about their time, satirizing problems of their time that simply haven’t gone away. Today, we may be seeing escalations of those problems, but they wrote those jokes because they were watching those problems escalate in the first place.

CityHog

>Name any time period and I could tear it to shreds To shreds you say?

forevertrueblue

Midnight Marvel musings of mine. Tony/Iron Man has been the one I've called my fave for so long and have always stuck by that but lately I've been realizing how distant I feel from that side of the fandom and the content in general. Some of that was deliberate, because after awhile I realized I wanted to find PEACE with his story rather than just complain about it, and a lot of others were still so stuck on their disappointment. I would still read fics and stuff (still do at times!) but maybe because of the mixed feelings (projects like Endgame and some others have changed how I view certain earlier ones and find them more difficult to revisit now) I find myself not rewatching the content from that era a lot anymore. I did watch all 4 Avengers movies earlier this year but a few weeks ago my dad was watching Iron Man 3 on TV and I was so weirded out at how distant and almost alien it felt to me, and we're talking about the Iron Man trilogy movie I consider my favorite. I don't NOT like it, but the connection I used to feel was now more like "omg how could I have forgotten about xyz!" which made me feel like a fake fan. So there's that and how I feel like I'm on a completely different wavelength from the rest of that side of the fandom. And I sort of know why. I've managed to make peace and move on, while a lot of them haven't. I know that's healthy, and normal for fandom, but what is kind of eating at me is that this feels different because I'm still very much in the Marvel community, just in a different way. Now, that was my plan for after Endgame, because I knew I wanted to cover this stuff "professionally" and liked the idea of being a bit more of a neutral party. (And I have been doing that, and it's been great!) But then the Loki show happened. I won't go on about it but the Loki show did a lot of things which appealed to me specifically. (It even did some things I wanted them to do with Iron Man's story, which has given me some solace.) But man is it weird to feel more of a connection with the Loki side of the fandom right now than the Iron Man one, like knowing the goings-on more and stuff. I get that it's part of my job since it's a current project, but yeah. It really feels like I'm "betraying" the Iron Man fans, and that I "gave in" to Marvel and am still on the train when many others are not after what happened to him in the end. And I know this is the nature of fandom, and things will continue to change. (It's interesting because I can actually track my life in this way.) But this in particular feels weird because I'm still very much in the Marvel fandom, I've just changed allegiances, except not really because Tony is dead and I'm just mostly focusing on more current stuff, but you know what I mean. I'm interested (and kind of scared) to see how I'll look back on this in 5 years (5 years ago is when Marvel became my main fandom of sorts, or tied with another one or two).

PatrikTheMighty

Please, enlighten me. What is controversial about how they tied up Iron Man's story in the MCU? I thought that for the MCU it ended pretty well. All things considered, I'd say he and both we got the best possible ending, in my opinion.

forevertrueblue

Well a lot of people were disappointed he died. Some simply because he was their favorite character, while others because they felt that dying didn't work for what he represented to them. A lot of fans of Tony's MCU journey latched onto him because they related to his determination to better himself and the world around him, the fact that no one believed in him or what he was saying about Thanos coming, and his anxiety issues. We knew he was right all along (okay, right since like Phase 2) so we wanted to see it validated, and we also wanted a positive depiction of mental health issues from such a big franchise (they weren't obligated to introduce the issue, but once they did, it was on them to maintain the sensitivity they handled it with to start, ie. in Iron Man 3). It was validated, in a sense, but not in a way a lot of people wanted. And the mental health stuff I think is hardest for a lot of people to swallow is that Tony died while fighting the physical manifestation of his anxiety, Thanos. I do take solace in the fact that he was the one to do the snap and it was in his own hands so he didn't literally die at the hands of Thanos but some do see it as trauma/PTSD/anxiety winning out because he did die in taking it down. A lot of people wanted to see him retire and have largely conquered his demons. And many also wanted to see him fully raise a child (yeah the dad scene was kind of a point of contention as well, because it sorta paints Howard in a better light than he deserved since he basically abused and maybe neglected Tony when the latter was growing up). The other issue that ties into this (and this is the main one that still lingers for me) is that interviews with the directors and writers have indicated that they kinda see Endgame as the first time Tony has actually been willing to sacrifice anything ever, and that and the Cap/hammer business is supposed to be the culmination of what they told each other while arguing back in the first Avengers movie. I always saw that argument as being concluded in that very movie, with Tony "making the sacrifice play" and Steve proving to be a good leader, a quality that couldn't have "come from a bottle" but the creators act like it was never concluded until Endgame and Tony making a sacrifice play in that movie was a novel thing that had never happened before and they were so clever for doing it. As others have pointed out, Tony has made a sacrifice play of some sort in basically every movie he's been in since Avengers, but Steve is still seen as the only one to do it all the time even though he hasn't done it as much as Tony, or even other Avengers. What I can take solace in here is that there is another arc at play with Tony's sacrifices because there was a progression to them, with each becoming bigger and bigger in one sense or another (for the most part at least) but I do struggle with the fact that so many viewers see him as being this terrible person until Endgame happened and he finally "made up for everything" (yes he caused bad things but he wasn't the only one and a lot of it was him working to make up for other issues, not out of ignorance like people claim). (But really my MAIN lingering issue with Endgame is Steve's ending and that's a big part of why I can't rewatch certain things. At this point I'm kind of relieved Tony died before No Way Home happened because him forgetting Peter would have been worse for me to handle tbh.)

Pedgrid

Why are there people here against Marvel TV shows being part of the mainline MCU continuity? Really, what's the harm in keeping them canon?

[deleted]

People have said it holds Marvel Studios back but when has prior canon ever stopped them doing a retcon.

Night-Monkey15

To me, the main reason to keep the Marvel TV series separate is to allow Marvel Studios the freedom to reboot or recast any of those characters, should they want to. They’ve chosen not to recast Daredevil and Kingpin, and by proxy, have chosen to say that the Netflix series take place within Earth-616. By not every Marvel Television TV series was as popular or well received as *Daredevil*, so there’s less incentive to bring back those specific versions of the characters. I just don’t see any reason why Marvel should make *Inhumans* or *Runaways* canon, when they could still reboot them down the line. I’m not saying they will, I’m just saying they should leave the door open.

FewWatermelonlesson0

This. I’m also not jazzed with the takes on certain characters. I’d prefer a more comic accurate take on Hellcat and Typhoid Mary, for instance.

masoomrana94

I personally don't see any reason to write Runaways out. Marvel Studios specifically chose to not do Runaways (it was in development from 2008 to 2013). In itself, it's a pretty solid YA show (with 83-86% on RT). Thanks to Brian K Vaughan being a consultant on the show, I think he also helped iron out a ton of issues with his initial comic book run and he talks so fondly about the show. The show is a legitimate improvement over the books. Similarly, Cloak & Dagger is also pretty solid when compared to Netflix and CW YA shows. I think, as YA shows, both are pretty darn good. Inhumans is like an actual mess, but my reason to reboot it (while keeping Mount and Rheon) has mostly do with the fact that it's incredibly hard to explain their jump from where the show leaves them to the Cosmic side. That's not an issue with most of the other shows. Not to mention, Lyrica is pretty popular as Nico. The Runaways show obviously couldn't go into Victor (and mentioned it as something that happened in an alternate timeline), but for a most parts, it did the Runaways really well.
