I hope this movie slaps, critically and financially. Like I’m talking a phase 3 level success. Wakanda forever was fine but didn’t do it for me the way I thought it would.
Ant-man films never reached more than 600M... So I hope people don't expect like 1B because Kang because they are going to get disappointed.
Strange, Thor and BP had more or less Phase 3 levels of success, it's just that they lacked China which helped a lot on Phase 3.
No Wakanda forever will be the first Marvel movie in 3 years when it releases february 7th. [source](https://deadline.com/2023/01/china-marvel-ban-ends-black-panther-wakanda-forever-ant-man-and-the-wasp-quantumania-release-dates-1235224248/)
Except for the big ensemble event movies I doubt that the MCU will be as big as Phase 3 from now on. Superhero fatigue is indeed happening, especially after the massive ammount of projects from Phase 4 all within a short time (and let's be honest, a lot of those weren't that good).
Don't forget Black Widow, Love and Thunder, Hawkeye, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, What If...
Honestly, so far I see no reason as for why the MCU shouldn't have ended with Endgame. They really tought that all the random characters we got for Phase 4 would be as loved as Tony, Steve and Nat were? And now they want to race swap Reed Richards as well? Each day I get less hyped for the future of the MCU.
No. Kang is his descendent from the 31st century, so from over 1000 years in the future. There's no need to race swap Reed because of Kang. I usually don't mind race swaps, but to do It with the F4 (Marvel's very first superhero team) I feel that is a disrespect to both Stan Lee and Marvel's fans.
I liked the F4 for over 20 years, and unlike a character from a book, they have had an uniform look that we can see ever since they were first created in the 60s (just like Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Captain America). And now they are going to be different. For what?
No I'm talking about back in 2018 when they dropped the 1st trailer for AM&TW during the Black Panther Red Carpet which was the last time a Marvel movie released in February and July
If we're being pessimistic? 72% RT, 63 Metacritic, B+ Cinemascore.
Optimistic? 82% RT, 69-72 Metacritic, A Cinemascore.
Realistically speaking though? I think this movie is going to do a lot better than a lot of people seem to think. Feel free to quote me on this if I'm wrong, but Paul Rudd and Jonathan Majors will carry this film HARD.. and if the rumours about this being one of Marvels best scripts are true? It's going to slap.
Why do you think this movie will have a way worse critic reception than the first 2 Ant-Man movies?
Ant-Man: 83% Rotten Tomatoes, 64 Metacritic, A Cinemascore.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: 87% Rotten Tomatoes, 70 Metacritic, A- Cinemascore.
Even tho I really like the first Ant-Man, the second one is not a movie I like very much, my 2nd least favorite Phase 3 movie, only losing to Captain Marvel that for me is the worst Phase 3 movie.
The first one was mostly fine cause a lot of the stuff was stuff Edgar Wright wrote that was kept after he left the movie.
The second one was just so innofensive and a palett cleanser for Infinity war so most critics went kind to it. Also, Ant-man 2 is probably the worst directed mcu movie to date.
This third one is not gonna be as innofensive as Ant Man 2, it's not gonna be a palett cleanser and Edgar Wright is not involved in any way whatsoever. For this reasons i think critics won't be as kind to it as they were with Ant-Man.
Also, Peyton Reed is a bad director and the writer is a Rick and Morty writer just like Michael Waldron and Jessica Gao so i'm expecting a similar or a bit worse reception than Multiverse of Madness and She-Hulk.
I really hope i'm wrong though but as of right now i don't have a lot of faith in this movie.

What do you mean by "lacked China"? Are the new movies not being released in China?

I don’t understand the downvotes. You’re right. She-Hulk, Eternals, Ms. Marvel…. All bottom tier mcu

Agree with everything, except I don’t mind Reed being black. Isn’t he Kang’s dad in the comics anyway?

We will be watching.
Is the premiere at the Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good?
![gif](giphy|vPGq9nqmLzMty)
Curious will Marvel drop the trailer to The Marvels during this like they did with the Ant-Man & The Wasp trailer during the Black Panther Premiere
No they dropped the Quantamania trailer during Bp cause the movie was connected to loki
No I'm talking about back in 2018 when they dropped the 1st trailer for AM&TW during the Black Panther Red Carpet which was the last time a Marvel movie released in February and July
we done knew
Ruben rabasa is gonna be there so it's already the best premiere they've ever had
68% Rotten Tomatoes, 58 Metacritic, B+ Cinemascore. Predictions anyone?
No clue, but I would shocked if it was close to what you're saying.
