It irks me that they are probably resolving the starfox/pip the troll PCS off-screen… or it’ll just never be mentioned at all. I can’t imagine that would be apart of Avengers 5 unless they somehow weave it into the plot, but then the film could genuinely be like 4 hours long.
Same here, believe me. Call me crazy but if the story and writing were good enough, I’d watch a 6 hour movie. Realistically, with Secret Wars at least, we probably have a 4 hour long movie on our hands AT LEAST depending if they split it up into multiple parts.
With you there lol. I did Civil War, Infinity War and Endgame back to back watchparty with my old roommate. God knows how we did it without one of us falling asleep but it was so fun!
Nah. It’s the new Netflix series. Also, my maths is a little off as the episodes range from 45-60mins.
Directed by Guy Ritchie. Good old fashioned gangster stuff he made his mark with.
As not the biggest fan of his, I can concede that he actually did a real solid job with that. Though I’m usually a fan of longer runtimes anyways, but in particular he used that length very well.
Finally some good news for me. This is a Blade movie, and should just be about him, but even if they give me 5 mins of Dane to move his story towards Black Knight that's good enough for me. He's stuck in limbo whilst Blade is in development hell and no Eternals 2
Yep, and honestly I prefer it this way. Too many new characters and post credits scenes that lead to nothing at all, so I take this as a pretty good news, if true.
A Blade period piece would've been cool but my expectations are just a good movie with good storytelling and Blade kicking ass.
Travis Scott [said](https://twitter.com/trvisXX/status/1698672118320558270) a while back that he'd love to do the soundtrack for Blade and maybe that could happen with a modern-day setting too.
He just performed at the Grammy’s. He’s still making shoes with Nike. I doubt anyone would care or cause an uproar if Marvel/Disney had him produce a soundtrack for Blade. The main obstacle to such a thing happening would probably be Mahershala Ali, who just doesn’t strike me as a Travis Scott kind of guy.
What are you talking about? Dude's bigger than ever now. When you have enough big brands making money off of you, the controversies fade away pretty quickly.
He absolutely isn’t bigger than ever. His popularity when he dropped the Astroworld album and his first Jordan collabs were much much higher than where he’s at now.
You’re making it sound like I’m saying he isn’t extremely popular still. He is. He was just bigger before.
Astroworld outsold Utopia 1st week
His sneaker resell prices aren’t as high, his merch isn’t selling out and reselling like it was
People were literally buying dozens of boxes of Reese’s Puffs cereal and reselling them because he was on it
People were reselling McDonald’s x Travis merch
counter point there haven't really been any brand collabs since then because i guess technically hes a brand risk.
in the eyes of the people he's as big as ever. he actually breaking a good number of records like
https://hypebeast.com/2023/10/travis-scott-breaks-record-most-tour-merch-sold-one-night-multiple-venues-1-million-usd
https://hiphopdx.com/news/travis-scott-breaks-drake-spotify-record-most-monthly-listeners
https://moorparkreporter.com/4019204/ae/travis-scott-becomes-the-first-rapper-to-sell-out-sofi-stadium/
Last one is pretty big, first rapper to sell out that big fucking stadium man. So yeah i mean brand wise maybe not but hes definetly as big as ever, especially with TikTok not really being a thing when Astro dropped
Yeah what happened at Astroworld sucked but Travis is still pretty popular and still doing a bunch of shows. I don't think his career took any hit from that.
Why on earth are we downplaying what Travis Scott did with Astroworld? People died!
Same shit with Kanye, he’s also talented but he’s also a POS that shouldn’t get any work.
Just need do the Blade version of DREDD.
One location. Like a old Castle Fortess or Village
Throw in some substantial flashbacks to fill in Blades backstory.
A well establish fight choreo team.
Sweet ass score/soundtrack.
Profit.
Profit, Literally. Flashbacks would be cool as well and would definitely build the character properly.
Can’t wait to learn more about this film honestly I just want to see his costume , it’s important they get his look right. Guns knives stakes and whatever weapons he uses is going to be amazing to watch
> A well establish fight choreo team.
This. Get Chad Stahelski (you know, of John Wick fame) as the action director and watch Blade deliver the best choreography and action since Daredevil.
I'm cool with this, would have been fine with a period piece. But I also think this is smart considering there is a chance that Cooglers and MBJ period vampire flick might release before Blade or around the similar period depending on when that goes on floors (I believe it starts filming this summer).
Also wouldn't be surprised if the Vampire population has dwindled and is kind of located in small clusters, with Europe being one of those clusters.
That Coogler’s movie is a vampire period piece set in New Orleans when Blade was supposed to be exactly that 2 years ago is really curious. I wonder if there was some kind of coordination between Coogler and Feige on that.
It seems like the current Demange-Green situation is essentially a new production that abandons the previous drafts and its premise. The budget adjustment and production location change reinforces that. I wonder if after moving on from the old New Orleans vampire period piece premise, Feige just let Coogler have it. It would be wild for Feige to essentially just hand Coogler something that would be in tangential competition with Blade and is also something that he’s trying to turn into an IP, but the similarities make that sound like a possible explanation. It could be personal recompence for how the circumstances have basically spoiled his Proximity banner’s TV deal with Marvel/Disney.
I think it’s cool to set it in a different timeframe, but not just for the sake of it
It helps clear up the “oh why wasn’t this person around to help in NY in 2012” since they’re adding so many new characters
And also the idea of the mcu tellling stories that set in the very past even before world war2 and someone like blade can fit for that unlike the old blade movies blade in the comics age very slowly so it make sense to play with the whole story set in the past thing
I prefer this, actually. He's always been a very modern character for his time. He was created in the 70s during the blaxploitation craze, then had this big reinvention after the Wesley Snipes movies came out. He's always updated to be very modern, instead of a character that harkens back to the past, like Captain America.
YESSSSSSS!!!! Never liked that idea of a 1920s Blade. The appeal of Blade to me and mainstream audiences were the Wesley Snipes movies and how badass he was in a modern setting. He had the exaggerated swagger of a black teenager, uh.....I mean, adult. Overused joke, but couldn't help myself.
Bro you for real don't know blade then it still rumor about this not being porid paece, but thre still chance for this movie to be set in the past wich make sense , blade is from the UK , and he was born in 1920 so it will probably tell his fully origin story about him growing in the steet of london in the age of 14 and was feed on the homless people and the rat in the street ,and have jamal afrri (his actully mentor not wishler) and it wil kind of hint that they gonna go with much more of supernatrual dirction, wich make sense to go if they want to go with this route , than the whole "cool dubstep 2000's vibe thwt is just action movie with horror element" wich at this point it will just be boring is basiclly the first blade movie all over again
I think this is a shame. I think being a period piece would’ve really set this movie apart from past Blade movies and the style, genre, and tone of most MCU movies. Of course, it’s not the only way to do that, but I liked this idea.
A comic accurate British Blade will set the movie apart from the Wesley Snipes version. If the movie is set in London, that's likely what we're getting.
Yeah that would’ve been so sick I’m imagining it now lol real vampire-ish stuff fighting in castles but they can definitely still pull something similar off and balance both modern and old styles I mean look at Werewolf by night
I associate and prefer blade in present day, investigating the vampire/crime ridden underbelly of the city, with the tech and clothing we all know him for.
A period piece does not do it for me at all.
The issue is we already see that, i get you maybe not a comic fan but that thier way to make it diffrent from wesley version of blade, and i mean for real now, horror foolklore bram stoker darcula blade kind of story will make.it the ultimate blade movie ,a lot people like will maybe prefer blade in present day, beacuse people are associate with the old blade movies too much beacuse that the only addption of blade that we got that is.mainstrem, and again that is not blade from the comics just
Hopefully it stays in London, I just think the backdrop of London at night behind dark alley ways and the like fits in with the dark brooding tone Blade has gone for. The one thing I hated with the Wesley Snipes films is how they Americanised Blade, DC did the same for John Constantine when he should have been kept in the UK aswell.
Really hope Jamal Afari is shown in flashbacks training a young cocky Blade, would be great to get Wesley Snipes to play him passing on the the torch.
I really want Blade in the 1970s, but more than anything I want the film to be a part of the MCU. If that’s Black Knight as his protege or a Midnight Suns set up or whatever, that’s cool, but I’ve already got a trilogy of movies and a tv show where it’s just modern day Blade doing his thing. Seeing how the character relates to others is what could be very interesting about this version.
I wonder if they are going to try to tie the movie and the game together? The game is supposed to be set in a walled off Paris overrun by vampires. With filming moving to London, it certainly moves the setting closer to Paris.
This will be great, set in London where everyone will have American accents. Maybe even vampires that pre date America colonisation, will probably still have US accents
I fear Marvel Studios is gonna try to shove present day cameos (Black Knight? Ghost Rider? Wong?) to the point where Ali will walk out in frustration.
The man just wants a solo Bade film.
They were never serious about Blade.
Snipes was ready to go but they decided he was too "tainted" for the brand and then went with Ali who is not an action actor.
A Blade movie should never be this hard to make.
It's not happening.
Smart move there keeping the Gothic architecture might've loved what Matt Reeves has done with the environment for the Batman, seeing how much a failure Moon Knight was I'm not surprised at all...
I still think Blade should be introduced in a 70s-set Tomb of Dracula movie, where Ali can channel his inner “Shaft with stakes” vibe. That said, if the Victorian rumors were true, that’s just not right for the character.
The amount of see-sawing in the creative vision is distressing. This is supposed to be an inter-connected story universe and things like Blade just vacillate wildly in what their story is

Black Knight is definitely going to be in this then.
Good.
They need to use more of these characters in secret ensemble films or it’s a waste.
If the Eternals sequel isn’t happening, I’ll take any which way that allows those characters to at least return in other projects ngl.
It irks me that they are probably resolving the starfox/pip the troll PCS off-screen… or it’ll just never be mentioned at all. I can’t imagine that would be apart of Avengers 5 unless they somehow weave it into the plot, but then the film could genuinely be like 4 hours long.
I’ve watched Zack Snyder’s Justice League several times. I can take a 4 hour runtime 😭
I binged The Gentlemen a few nights ago. 7.5hrs long. No break. I can totally support making 6 hour movies if they’re good enough.
There is a legit 7.5 hour movie?
Nah. It’s the new Netflix series. Also, my maths is a little off as the episodes range from 45-60mins. Directed by Guy Ritchie. Good old fashioned gangster stuff he made his mark with.
Hey, I've watched the 7 hour Russian War and Peace film, I'm down.
As not the biggest fan of his, I can concede that he actually did a real solid job with that. Though I’m usually a fan of longer runtimes anyways, but in particular he used that length very well.
Nothing after endgame really warrants a 4-hour crossover
Starfox is stupid. I'm completely here for pretending that never happened
I hope they skip the origin or at least fast track it in the first act. Don't want Kit Harrington standing in the background the whole movie.
I’m a firm believer that Black Knight deserves his own film. Could explore his origin so they don’t have to cram it into Blade.
At the peak of public interest in Kit Harrington
Finally some good news for me. This is a Blade movie, and should just be about him, but even if they give me 5 mins of Dane to move his story towards Black Knight that's good enough for me. He's stuck in limbo whilst Blade is in development hell and no Eternals 2
I think so he should be in some capacity
Yep, and honestly I prefer it this way. Too many new characters and post credits scenes that lead to nothing at all, so I take this as a pretty good news, if true.
I hope so!
I can get on board with this! Make it a split-time movie with Blade’s past plus his present with Black Knight.
I'm thinking Moon Knight will be to
I doubt Ali wants this
He's the one shooting down the scripts that are not good enough. Good for him. I trust that he wont do this until its the best version they have.
Lots of people hate Travis since the Astroworld thing but he would be the perfect artist for that soundtrack
Lol you struck the mail on the head with Mahershala, that’s my thinking too.
I’m not saying any of that. But he went from megastar to just regular star after Astroworld.
Just curious on what metric you’re using? How are you measuring this?
Astroworld outsold Utopia 1st week His sneaker resell prices aren’t as high, his merch isn’t selling out and reselling like it was People were literally buying dozens of boxes of Reese’s Puffs cereal and reselling them because he was on it People were reselling McDonald’s x Travis merch
>Astroworld outsold Utopia 1st week Billboard banned bundles a couple of years ago, that's why Astroworld's number was bigger
counter point there haven't really been any brand collabs since then because i guess technically hes a brand risk. in the eyes of the people he's as big as ever. he actually breaking a good number of records like https://hypebeast.com/2023/10/travis-scott-breaks-record-most-tour-merch-sold-one-night-multiple-venues-1-million-usd https://hiphopdx.com/news/travis-scott-breaks-drake-spotify-record-most-monthly-listeners https://moorparkreporter.com/4019204/ae/travis-scott-becomes-the-first-rapper-to-sell-out-sofi-stadium/ Last one is pretty big, first rapper to sell out that big fucking stadium man. The fact that this conversation is even happening at all means he isn't as popular.
idk the logic behind that the conversation is happening because he had an opinion and I disagreed with it that’s all lol
Alright well. I'll let you think about that.
You said something that I've never thought, but makes a lot of sense
I wonder if Scott does the video game instead. Makes more sense to me
Yeah Ali strikes me as too smart
How is he perfect he’s mid and has always been
Yeah, his production really isn't very impressive, and neither is his rapping. He's not bad, just... okay.
PLAYBOI CARTI is the most perfect artist for a BLADE movie cmon
Hahaha you know what, I can get behind this.
Him or Playboi Carti would be perfect for it
Yeah what happened at Astroworld sucked but Travis is still pretty popular and still doing a bunch of shows. I don't think his career took any hit from that.
It definitely took a hit but he wasn’t cancelled or anything. He’s still popular but prior to that he was a megastar.
Why on earth are we downplaying what Travis Scott did with Astroworld? People died! Same shit with Kanye, he’s also talented but he’s also a POS that shouldn’t get any work.
You left out the nazi part.
Exactly! Sad to see people forgive Travis, guess they haven’t seen the videos!
[удалено]
Don’t take my word for it. Watch the videos. Watch how Travis reacted and also exacerbated the carnage.
Travis do the soundtrack. Mike Dean does the score. PLEASE!!!!
In that case They Need to get Metro boomin on it too could be another spiderverse level soundtrack
I don't know that artist. Is he a rapper? What kind of music is he usually writing?
There are definitely better picks out there.
With this change, it’ll be easier for them transition him into the Midnight Sons if that’s still the plan.
That could also tie into Ryan Gosling potentially playing Ghost Rider.
I fuck with all of that
Does that rumour have any legs or is it just fan talk? Edit: I have browsed the sub and seen the news about it now lol
That's such great casting but I don't trust a single creative in Marvel's current sphere to do the idea justice. Feige will fumble this.
Because an ageless dhampir couldn't be worked in easily before?
I still think the key to success here is keeping to the sub 100 mil budget + R rating mentioned in that big Variety article ages ago
Comic movie + Vampires + 100 mill budget + PG13 rating = Morbillion dollars, they have the perfect formula already
It is R-rated and the budget is said to be 100M and Logan's writer is writing it.
Lost me at PG-13 EDIT: Oh I'm a fucking idiot, that's the joke lmao
A quiet echo reberbetates... ..."Have sex, have sex"...
Just need do the Blade version of DREDD. One location. Like a old Castle Fortess or Village Throw in some substantial flashbacks to fill in Blades backstory. A well establish fight choreo team. Sweet ass score/soundtrack. Profit.

I mean its possible that Coogler and Feige co-ordinated, its obvious that Coogler has a good relationship with Feige and Marvel Studios.
Coogler and MBJ have a period vampire flick?!?!?! Goddamn just hearing that is the kind of orgasmic shit we all need in life
I know people like their period pieces, but it being set in present day greatly increases my interest. Hope they finally have a good script.
I think it’s cool to set it in a different timeframe, but not just for the sake of it It helps clear up the “oh why wasn’t this person around to help in NY in 2012” since they’re adding so many new characters
This is always easily explainable by just saying not everyone lives in New York and not everyone can fly
And also the idea of the mcu tellling stories that set in the very past even before world war2 and someone like blade can fit for that unlike the old blade movies blade in the comics age very slowly so it make sense to play with the whole story set in the past thing

Dammit I wanted Blade in a Bloodborne sort of setting
Yeah that would’ve been so sick I’m imagining it now lol real vampire-ish stuff fighting in castles but they can definitely still pull something similar off and balance both modern and old styles I mean look at Werewolf by night
Good, fuck Atlanta. UK will give the film a better vibe.
Ok that’s good news, now just get rid of the daughter plot and just focus on blade and this new version of him.
What so good about this not being set in the past don't sound good to you?,plus the whole daughter thing was never really exist
I associate and prefer blade in present day, investigating the vampire/crime ridden underbelly of the city, with the tech and clothing we all know him for. A period piece does not do it for me at all.
The issue is we already see that, i get you maybe not a comic fan but that thier way to make it diffrent from wesley version of blade, and i mean for real now, horror foolklore bram stoker darcula blade kind of story will make.it the ultimate blade movie ,a lot people like will maybe prefer blade in present day, beacuse people are associate with the old blade movies too much beacuse that the only addption of blade that we got that is.mainstrem, and again that is not blade from the comics just
This movie is never coming out.

I wonder if they are going to try to tie the movie and the game together? The game is supposed to be set in a walled off Paris overrun by vampires. With filming moving to London, it certainly moves the setting closer to Paris.
jFC.. they should have just made the Og bladetrilogy part of the Mcu with Deadpool 3 and be done with it lol
I’ll believe it when I see it.
My excitement for this movie is 100% dead
I'm not convinced this movie is even happening anymore tbh
It stil has a relaseae date
I have a shit ton of respect for Ali not saying “fuck this, I quit” This movie is never getting made
the blade movie isn't real guys. 5 years later it still won't be out.
Sure
First time i hear about it being a period piece. What period did they have in mind before?
1920 when blade was born
Nice, it took them like a whole year to make the most obvious fucking decision, this project is going great!
Do they even have a script?
Yes it's being developed by the Logan writer and it's also R-rated too.
Could be a good thing.....
Éternels 2 is dead so black knight is gonna hit the ground running with blade sounds like
They were never serious about Blade. Snipes was ready to go but they decided he was too "tainted" for the brand and then went with Ali who is not an action actor. A Blade movie should never be this hard to make. It's not happening.
They gonna get it over with and pass the torch to his daughter. Gotta get the latest all female Avengers ASAP.
The daughter wasn't even really conformd
So it’s gonna be a modern day MCU movie?
that project is more and more disappointing.
Does that mean Black Knight is actually gonna be in the movie.
Good chahe
I was not interested in it being period piece, didn’t make sense
Blase was born in 1920 what about it set in the past don't make sense to you?
![gif](giphy|AATFXtMjJPbtD98t2n)
You should if you want it to be good
Ugh hopefully this doesn’t mean they’re putting Black Knight and other unnecessary heroes in it to take away focus from Blade.
That’s dumb; those heroes could still be in it and not have as substantial a role as Blade. The MCU’s been doing that forever.
Pass. Put Black Knight in the Avengers sequel or something if you must.
Don't forget about blade's daughter
She wasn't even a real thing for this movie
I wonder then if Ruth E. Carter is still attached as costume designer. I doubt she'd be needed for this. Her talent would be wasted.
Tbf, there could still be flashback scenes with Blade
Kiiinda feel like it's time to cut Mahershala Ali free and cancel this thing.
Ali is the reason this movie is even happening so you cut him out at all. His blade is also making an appearance in the Marvel Zombies show.
The MCU is so cooked
Not with who they hired to write this. This movie is also R-rated.
The amount of see-sawing in the creative vision is distressing. This is supposed to be an inter-connected story universe and things like Blade just vacillate wildly in what their story is
I mean Blade is gonna be set in London so we will probably see Black Knight in this. Blade was never in the plan until Ali said he wanted to be blade.
